@amandarene112 funny you mention the constipation. When I was at my ultrasound the other day I had to pee in a cup and had my toddler with me (hubby was there too but needed to go to the bathroom too...great timing). So I get in there and can't pee but realize that oh crap...I need to GO! Lmao. I was worried I'd miss the pee after so I pressed the damn cup to catch it while I tried to quickly (yea right lol) go #2. Meanwhile said toddler comes waltzing up while I'm hovering and is like "mommy what you doing? You going tee and poo poo? Why do you have a cup" (she reached over and tapped it. Good lord child...could that moment have sucked anymore?!? There's no privacy anymore...
Then my doc had difficulty finding baby at first because she said "oh wow you're really constipated!" (Yup...moment SUCKED more lol). I started laughing and was thinking I don't know HOW considering I just went to the bathroom with my kid scrutinizing my technique.
Long story but was pretty hilarious after the fact. Stupid POOP!! What are you ladies doing to help it on its way? Haha...
@Msashley2010 YES OMG YES. This constipation is KILLER. It makes my whole stomach feel crampy and like a giant brick. I heard somewhere that eating kiwis can help that so I'm gonna go get a bunch of kiwis and see if I can make something happen lol. I tried colace three times a day for a long time and it did NOTHING!!!
@HollyGolightly09 I actually ended up at the ER last night. My pain all day had been at around a 5, but at 11:15 pm, it jetted up to a 9. It woke me it hurt so bad, I was sobbing and throwing up from the pain. I thought it must have ruptured or somehow I have appendicitis. The ER ran some blood work and did another ultrasound to see if it ruptured and to make sure the baby was okay. Everything was good except my pain level. They said at this point I just need to take tylenol as often as the bottle allows me to stay ahead of the pain. It's semi-effective so far, but still feels like an 8 sometimes, then it'll go back to a 5. I'm hoping it starts to shrink soon and go back to a normal size.
@heatherwilson321 I'm sorry you're in so much pain... but so glad you and baby are okay otherwise. Hopefully it will start going down and you'll get some relief soon!!
Are there any other ways to reduce the pain of corpus luteum cysts in addition to tylenol? It's day 2 and the tylenol is no longer working. Just wondering if anyone had any success with anything else. I feel like I'm in labor, but nothing is necessarily wrong, just incredibly painful.
@heatherwilson321 The website for my Drs office says you can take the extra strength (500 mg) as directed on the bottle. Would heat help do you think? A warm bath or using a heating pad for a little while at a time?
@heatherwilson321 wow so sorry you're going through this, wish I had some advice for you. Really sucks you didn't get any answers. Hope you find some relief soon!
A new fun symptom--I'm wondering if I have a hernia. If I press on my stomach in the right upper quadrant there is something sliding underneath my fingers. I'll ask my OB at the next appointment. Or there's an alien in me ha. Second pregnancy and I'm falling apart.
@heatherwilson321 sounds awful! So sorry. I would try heating pad as well!
Hi everyone, sorry to add something else as I see it's a busy thread full of significant concerns, but I'm having pretty painful stomach pains tonight. They're not menstrual cramps-like -- it's kind of like pain "moving" all over my stomach which makes me wonder if it could be gas or constipation related? It's just very uncomfortable and I haven't had this much stomach pain so far in the pregnancy. Any ideas? Much appreciated!
@HollyGolightly09 do you think it can still be normal if right now I don't feel I can do anything but focus on my pain -- like I couldn't imagine keeping up a conversation with someone right now without groaning in discomfort bc the pain is so intense... when should I be worried? Since it seems gas-related I don't want to be too concerned, but I don't know why it's so painful...? So weird... I guess I'll see how it is in 20 min or so...
@margareth That does seem a little intense for gas pain. Mine will hurt REALLY bad, like... takes my breath away.. for just a minute and then it settles back down. But, if it were to sustain that pain level I would probably start to get concerned. Maybe try to walk around a little, drink something... see if you can move things around a little?
@HollyGolightly09 thank you. Unfortunately I'm on public transportation right now which doesn't help one bit but as soon as I'm home I'll try to walk around, drink some water, etc. Thanks for your suggestions. I hope it goes away soon and I have no idea (if this is gas pain) that it could be so intense! I would recognize if these were menstrual-like cramps, and they're not, but it's still disconcerting.
Constipation is so bad here too! I just want to .. pass gas.. and it won't come out!!
Heating pads on low heat settings are okay according to my OB.
Definitely try laying on each side for a few minutes and tuck your top knee to your chest when you lay to try to help move the gas! .. I wish it would help release it though for me..

When I get home I'm going to get into a variation of "child's pose" from yoga, since I think that position can help with excess air/gas.
Right now im waiting for the subway semi-squatting on the platform bc the position feels better for my stomach. Good thing I'm in NYC... no one's even batting an eye...
I'm going through all of this too. I was almost in tears this afternoon due to gas and constipation pain!!! I took some tums laid on each side and felt some gas move and then when I sat up I burped to rival the one from Elf! I am still feeling nauseous and burping up a storm. I'm also still constipated I really hope we all get some relief soon, I know how miserable I feel, I hate to think of all of us in this pain!
Oh yes, the constipation is real. We just bought the "Squatty Potty" from Bed, Bath, and Beyond to help move things along!
Also - anyone else feeling any chest pressure? I think it's a mix of indigestion/acid reflux and my boobs getting bigger and more sore, but I can't help but worry!

Is anybody else getting extremely angry hemorrhoids with the constipation? DH actually had to go get me an arsenal of hemorrhoid creams and tucks pads. I am pretty miserable lol
Isn't it the worst? I was pretty freaked out about the gas pain, though it's better now. I didn't know it could be that painful! When you're in a lot of pain you start to worry if you should contact the doctor and if it's something "serious." I hate that, for so many reasons, not the least of which is the anxiety/stress!
Lying in certain positions and taking a warm bath helps. I should drink more water but it's been making me feel sort of nauseous, so I've been having more juice and soda instead. Gas, constipation, nausea... Darn this onslaught of symptoms -- if it were just one we could attack it head-on!
My 2 year old just went in to the bathroom and made some fake coughing noises into the toilet and said, "momma throw up." Yep, that's about all momma does now.
@sableeg yes on the chest pressure! I asked my dr about it. She said it's totally normal. Even though baby is still small, everything inside is still moving so that's a common "side effect". Kinda scary at times though
Anyone else had their tummy muscles tighten kinda like muscle spasms except it was more than just a twitch? I had it happen last night while I was watching an animal show with the pups.
@Sugargirl1019 have you tried taking a swig of Apple Cider Vinegar? It's nasty on the first swig and somewhat tolerable on the second...will neutralize acid and might help you burn. I use it whenever I get heartburn...
Pretty sure i pinched a nerve in my butt last night. Was in excruciating pain! Thank goodness i had a tennis ball near by to help roll it out. My friend is a massage therapist and is going help relieve it more today, but my goodness was i in pain last night
@amandarene112 I haven't had them for a while but in the beginning, for like a week I got them everyday. Not sure what it was. I would just try to eat smaller more frequent meals and rest on my side

I got them terribly post partum. And....still have them (DD was born in April). Mine actually ended up being fissures, which are as awesome as they sound.....
Guys with constipation and stomach cramps. I was getting the worst stomach cramps ever, like bent over not able to speak for 10/15 mins due to constipation. I started taking metamucil and they went overnight. I'm in Australia so I dont know if you have metamucil in the US but it's a natural psyllium husk fibre supplement, I'm sure you'd have an equivalent. Literally such a lifesaver. Highly recommend it!!

I took Metamucil with my DS. It's here in the US. They have a lemonade flavor one that's not too bad.
