@funkykey here i am! last cycle I triggered on CD 9 and iui CD 10, and started clomid on cd2. this cycle i started clomid cd 4 so I'm assuming iui around cd 12 which would be jan 18 (which happens to be my birthday, lucky me!) I go in for a scan on Monday to see how my follicles are progressing so I'll know more then. these clomid hot flashes are killing me!!!!

@bluejeanbabi05 - I struggle so much managing my own expectations. Some days I'm so hopeful, but it's not just hope that got me here, right?
It's like months of hope followed by crushing disappointment, followed by hope, followed by disappointment, followed by the realization that we were going to need to get some professional help to conceive. I'm sure this is the same for all of us.
Part of me is so hopeful this cycle, but another part of me is so afraid I will be disappointed again. Gah! We're just going to do an HPT - the closer I get to the HPT date, the more I psych myself out about it. I need to test before CD 28, because if BFN, I need to call my RE and schedule an ultrasound on CD 1 before we do another round of clomid (just to check my ovaries). But I almost don't want to POAS - I don't want to see if it's another BFN. Maybe I have a mild case of BFN avoidance syndrome? (Hahaha - that is not a real syndrome, but it should be!) I've had other cycles though where I'm the opposite - where I can't wait to POAS and even go buy those super early test kits.
Alright re: back to back IUIs. Does your clinic have any evidence about that being more effective? If so, let me know - I might ask my clinic about it!
@funkykey what CD on you on right now? I know, this process effing sucks. I'm such a positive person by nature, but the last year and a half has made me cynical and I hate that. ((hugs)) to you.
The back to back IUIs are interesting. To be honest I wasn't very sold on it when I spoke to the nurse over the phone, she was pretty wishy washy about it increasing our chances. It felt like the "party line" if that makes sense. But over on the TTGP board, a few ladies who had past BFPs and some recent grads chimed in that they were successful with two IUIs in one cycle, so I decided it can't hurt.
I'm still hanging in there, waiting for AF so I can start IUI #2.
@funkykey and @bluejeanbabi05 Managing expectations is very hard, totally hear you on that one. I've lost 90% percent of my hope of conceiving naturally, but there's still that cruel 10 percent of hope that remains to mess with my head during every cycle's TWW. And now, managing expectations during treatment cycles is a whole other ballgame... It's like, how much do I hope this works, and how much do I make my Plan B right now? Right now, I'm thinking of asking to move to IVF if the second IUI doesn't work. The IVF may yield more diagnostic information on our so-called unexplained infertility, so if the first IVF doesn't work, then we'll have more info to bring to other doctors for a second opinion.
Also contemplating getting a second opinion pre IVF, but I'm not sure how useful that will be. I just get nervous about being knee deep in treatments and then finding out, oh, cuz was the problem all along...
@PoeMasque - seems odd to say, but congrats on having a hint as to what might be going on! Seems pretty fixable too...
@bluejeanbabi05 - I'm CD 23, but I'm trying to wait to CD 26 to test, so Sunday... I mean, unless I break down and test this afternoon.
@notamyrtle I know! So hard to not work on your plan B through all of this. Like, we're supposed to do 3-4 IUIs, but I keep thinking ahead of that, like you. I keep thinking: "well, when those fail, we'll do this." It's extra, extra hard to stay in the moment when you've had so many disappointments to get here, and when you know the odds. I'm going even less than one day at a time right now, I'm trying to just get through one hour at a time... (In a stare-off with my HPT.)
@funkykey what cd did you IUI? I'm not one to talk as I love POAS, but I try to keep myself from the HPTs by reminding myself that a BFN will make me feel like sh!t and I won't believe it anyway. I literally set a reminder on my phone last cycle that popped up randomly saying that. Lol. Oh the BSC is real
@funkykey -- the 20th they told me to take HPT. I am a ball of nerves. Trying to stay positive and keep myself distracted.
Feeling a lot of physical things, but could be many factors. After my IUI last Friday I was completely wiped. I had the worst cramps, which my doctor noted I could potentially get OHSS. So I chaulked it up to that. Lasted through Saturday. Lots of bloating, so uncomfortable, but no other symptoms. Mostly gone by Sunday. Only feeling I've been having as of late is a feeling of gas cramps in my uterus. Anyone else experience these symptoms post IUI?
Sorry if there is a thread on this already, I'm a newbie around here.
@cmar1006 - I had similar symptoms, but for me it was the clomid, not the IUI. I wonder if it was your injections? I was so uncomfortable and bloated!
@bluejeanbabi05 - We missed the IUI in early Jan, so I have to wait until the end of the month. I o-ed on a day my clinic was closed! Too close to Christmas... I was so choked! I o-ed a day earlier than I was expecting... Anyway, I will find our any day now. Depends on when I POAS.
@funkykey maybe, but it happened after my IUI, I hadn't been on the injections for a few days. Stopped Tuseday night, triggered Wednesday. I'll definitely be asking the doctor about this when I see him again.
@funkykey i don't know how anyone waits to POAS. I just do it, daily, until AF comes. I usually start at 8dpo, when I know it's too early. It actually bothers me more if I don't do it! FX for you! I'm hoping the Clomid is the trick for us this round
TMI, but I'm a little worried because the yeast infection I had a few weeks ago just will not go away. I have an appt to get swabbed tomorrow morning in order to get more specific meds for it, but I'm worried it won't be cleared up by the time we need to BD and IUI! I do not get yeast infections....maybe two my whole life before this. Boo!

I have my ultrasound this morning, but I had EWCM last night and got a positive ovulation test this morning. The plan was to trigger and then do iui, but I'm wondering if that will change since I got a positive OPK this morning. Luckily we BD last night, but the whole thing has got me on edge.
Well I have 2 mature follicles (24 mm and 19 mm). Triggered at my appointment this morning and will do iui tomorrow. How many follicles have others gotten while taking clomid?
iui 1 is done, iui 2 is tomorrow. I am SO crampy today, it's not even funny. i didn't feel anything after my last iui so i have no idea what's going on. I bought a pineapple so I need to look up the whole pineapple core thing. i'll take all the help i can get.

@brooklyngirl18 FX. I had my first IUI on the 6th and I had the terrible cramping as well. Did they warn about hyperstimulation? That's what mine most likely was.
I had my first iui this morning. DH's post wash count was 10.8 million (29 million pre-wash) and motility was 51%. My Dr. seemed happy with the numbers. We were instructed to have sex the past two night so I think his count would have been higher if we had abstained for a few days. Anyways, they inserted a "sponge" into me afterwards, to prevent leakage. I was told to remove it three hours post iui, which I just did. It was a pretty big sponge and it was inside of a thick white plastic bag and tied shut with string. Anyone else ever had this?? I felt like I was smuggling drugs!
@amanda_1182@brooklyngirl18 we're all so close. I have my IUIs tomorrow morning and Thursday morning. Had two follies ready to go at my ultrasound this morning. What time did you ladies trigger last night?
I'm also going to do the pineapple core because why not.
@amanda_1182 lol I giggled at your smuggling drugs comment. I wonder if they'll give me that tomorrow too
I triggered at 9:45 am yesterday morning and had iui at 11 am this morning. I feel like we should have sex again tonight, but my DH is a little worn out. I definitely want to do it tomorrow though. Good luck with your iui tomorrow @bluejeanbabi05
@amanda_1182 good luck to you too! Lol your DH will have to put his big boy pants on! My DH has to give his swimmers two days in a row and I'm still going to lobby hard to HIO Friday. We shall see
