AFM I am over this PIO. It is making me gain weight and bloat to the point that hardly any of my pants fit and those that do are so uncomfortable. I have not been eating any differently and have still been working out, but I just had to order a belly band!! I know that obviously im going to gain weight while pregnant, but it's not typically happening at only 6 weeks so when someone says that to me it's just irritating. I feel awful and cannot wait to be done with it. I'm super petite height-wise (4'10") so even small amounts of weight gain tend to be pretty noticeable. My RE even said "every ounce of weight shows on someone of your stature" gee thanks! Once we hear a heart beat I was told that I can switch from PIO to suppositories 2x a day (originally it would have been 3x) so I'm hoping that small reduction might make some kind of difference. Anyone else feeling similar?

Hi ladies, so...today should be day 6 for my embryos, and i still don't have any information on them. I am a nervous wreck honestly. I remember the nurse telling us before the retrieval that they would call us on day 5, maybe the drugs kicked in and i imagined it. When I called the nurse today, she said the report had not been received by the clinic yet (the lab is in house). She said I should receive an update by tomorrow. Is this normal practice? I hear everyone getting day 3 and 5 day updates and I was so excited to get a call yesterday but it never came. In my head, I'm jumping to the worst, which is that they leave them in too long and then they don't survive. Just looking for reassurance that this is either normal protocol, or if I should be flipping out at the clinic, which is supposed to be very reputable.

@Adoc86 I prefer PIO over the suppositories. The latter gave me so much discomfort. Like get a back scratcher discomfort. When my husband gives me PIO I lay on the couch and switch sides every other day. The area you can give the shot is very small. I've noticed that if he goes too high or too low it hurts so much more. My doctor won't let me work out anymore. But I feel like a bloated whale too. I have to wear dress clothes to work so I need to find some elastic dress pants. Lol.
@tiffavis12 that's great news!! Now grow little embabies!! Make sure you stay hydrated. Gatorade helped me feel better faster than water. And get lots of rest!
@DDRGirlie I started out on the suppositories and didn't care for them either. I didn't find them uncomfortable, but just SO messy and gross. I've gotten used to the shot and although my rump is perpetually sore, it's tolerable. The only reason I am looking forward to switching back is because it will be a lower dose of progesterone and I **hope** it will make some difference with how I'm feeling. If there's no improvement I'll probably switch back
@Winnie81 personally I'd be pretty frustrated with that situation. The circumstances are stressful enough to begin with, let alone sitting around wondering about the status for days. I do think clinics have pretty differing protocols though. For instance at mine you get an update on days 1&2 then the embryos are left undisturbed and not checked at all on days 3&4. Supposedly they found that embryos thrived better if left alone. Maybe your clinic takes that to the extreme and has found better results with it? Nonetheless at this point I think I'd definitely demand an update today, especially since the lab is in-house! I think it's a bit unreasonable to expect you to wait until day 7. Surely they've checked them at some point this week!

@adoc86 Thanks girl, I definitely agree. I called again around 4 and the nurse had my nurse get in contact me. So out of the 10 fertilized, 4 made it to PGS testing. They were graded as 4AB, 4AB, 4AC and 4BB. She said this is good, but I don't know too much about the grading. From what I have read, the PGS testing is more important than the grading as far as implantation rates go, so I am trying to stay optimistic. I'm sorry you are experiencing so much discomfort from PIO. I haven't experienced PIO but I can relate with the hatred of bloat.
@Kangastein Ahh so exciting!! FX for a wonderful transfer day tomorrow!!
@isthisthereallife 13 eggs!!! Thats awesome! Don't forget the prune juice

They will be changing their fluids saturday but wont call me unless something needs to be brought to my attention. So now we wait til mondays transfer. @tiffavis12 and @Isthisthereallife great day 1 results!!!!!! i transferred today but not too excited, our poor embryo quality seems to still be present and we had 2 "early blasts" that we transferred. Feeling pretty bummed and not at all hopeful. Dr said maybe one or two others would pull through
afm- had my frozen transfer today-transfer two embabes, had acupuncture (only post-op) and drinking beet juice, Brazil nuts and pineapple. Ha. Trying to stay positive but it's easier to be pessimistic. Beta test 12/18.
Also I'm so nervous about the tww and how I'm going to try to hide my anxiety, not focus on my stomach. Ugh. What helps u guys get through it?

So sorry I've been away ladies! Glad to hear so much great news while I was gone. We had a busy weekend that has lead right into a busy work week, and for some reason this board is not working on my phone at all. It won't update, and today I couldn't even find it!
@Isthisthereallife Congrats on your ER yesterday, 13 is AMAZING! And 9 Fertilized it great!!! Thats how many we had Hope your recovery is smooth Thanks for checking on me! I have been doing well! I just keep telling myself I am pregnant I have had a few symptoms so that seems to be reassuring. My boobs are just slightly sore, which is new, and I had a horribly nauseous day on Monday, even puked, then had to work all night I have found eating small frequent bland meals for the most part has really been helping. I still have some nerves about it all, but trying not to let them get the best of me My US is on the 15th, and we don't have anything until then, just nightly PIO shots
@Kangastein I am keeping my fx tightly for you! I know you have been disappointed with results lately, but they wouldn't transfer if they didn't think there was a possibility these embies could make it! Prayers for you!
@Kp214 I am so sorry your transfer was cancelled. I know they want everything to look so good, to give it the best chance, but that doesn't help the disappointment I am sure you have about waiting. But your day will come! This too shall pass! Praying for you that waiting time moves quickly, and next month is THE month!
@hopefulmom I wouldn't worry about not feeling too many symptoms. I think it is totally normal at this point. Most of my "symptoms" are so mild I probably wouldn't think twice about them if I didn't know I was pregnant (that feels weird to say). Sometimes I wonder if they are just more in my head, like power of suggestion or something. I had one bad day where I felt very sick, but other than that, not too different. I was so glad to see your awesome 3rd beta! I did not do a 3rd beta, not sure why, just didn't seem to be in the plan from the beginning. Can't wait for our USs next week! I won't have mine until Thursday.
@Winnie81 So glad to hear your symptoms are improving! I am also sorry you had to worry so much with your clinic not calling But YAY for the 4 that made it to PGS testing! You totally deserve a cheeseburger before your clean diet! Good luck on your FET in Jan. Keep us posted on everything
@BecauseLove How did starting meds go today? Exciting to get things started! January will be here in no time
@tiffavis12 Congrats on your awesome numbers!!! Sounds like this cycle is going well for you! I really hope this is the ONE!
@DDRGirlie CONGRATS on your positive! Can't wait to hear your beta numbers!
@spring512 Congrats on your FET today! The first week of the TWW was not that bad for me, because I still felt the excitement of it all. By the second week I feel like the excitement had kind of faded and I started to have more doubts and go a smidge crazy The holiday definitely helped distract me. So just stay as busy as you can. And this board, this board really helped get me through in ways I cannot put into words. So thank you again ladies!
I am positive I missed many things, but I am always thinking about all of you ladies and sending prayers your way! xoxo
@ljsmith805 I'm pretty sure you didn't miss a thing! Thanks for the cheerleading and I hope you are doing well, mild morning sickness and all! So happy to hear everything is progressing and let us know how things look!
So excited for your US! Can't wait to hear!! Even though I'm sure those symptoms aren't fun....they're all there for a great reason!!
AFM: I did my first PIO shot last night. Talk about dramatic. I was freaking out, even cried right before DH did it because I was so unhappy about it. The worst is the soreness after, the shot is nothing. #dramaticmuch
One thing I did notice is the frequent need to pee last night!! I usually never have to get up in the middle of the night and don't really drink much before bed. I had to get up 3 times!! Has anyone else had that symptom? I didn't see it as a common side effect of anything, but who knows??

@isthisthereallife-9 embryos is amazing! I can't wait to hear how the transfer goes on Monday. I really think this is your time!
@spring512- I remember you from our August group and I am so excited you got your FET! The TWW is not fun and its easy to be pessimistic, but trying to remember that the odds are in your favor of it working, especially with two blasts!
@tiffavis12- that is amazing numbers and so much higher than the first time! what did they change this time? I need to try whatever you did!
@winnie81- 4 PGS normal blasts is really good! When is your FET?!
@DDRgirlie- congrats!! I am so happy for you and can't wait to hear how beta is!!
@kangastein- I am really hoping some more pull through to freeze, but hopefully the two you transferred will both stick!!
@hopeful_mom- I bet you are counting the hours until your u/s! I am so excited to hear if its one or two as well!
Sorry if I missed anyone... this group has been amazing and I think its going to end on a "positive" note with lots of BFPs!!

@kangastein sorry to hear that, but fx that the two you transferred will do better in their natural environment and stick! Sending positive vibes!
@Isthisthereallife 9 fertilized is great!!! And yes to the constant peeing, ugh!
@spring512 I'm glad your transfer went well! I tend to be a pessimist, too. In my mind I'd prefer to prepare myself for bad news. I was certain this wasnt going to work the first time for me, so I wasn't really excited and expected negatives. Sometimes it's just easier to think that way and then end up pleasantly surprised I hope your TWW goes by quick!
AFM... we have a heartbeat! 119 beats which the doctor said is perfect. It's still so surreal and it hasn't really hit me yet. I have been starting to get queasy though and have some food aversions so I'm sure reality is about to hit :-P

@JamieH2000 we added supplements of vitamin d and coq10 as well as started lupron 3 days before going off birth control. We were shocked at the number.
AFM.... I went to drs this morning was in a bunch of pain overnight. Im a tiny bit over stimulated with some free fluid by my pelvis. Not anything they didnt expect with the way my ovaries banged out 24 eggs. My ovaries are still plump too so anything bumping them can cause the discomfort. Prescribed rest lots of protein and gatorade/fluids. Last try i had an extra day to rest this time went to work next day think that could have done it too. So rest til monday when we have our transfer. Dr wasn't worried and didnt think we need to cancel. She just wanted to make sure my ovaries didnt twist or were bleeding into my abdomen.
@Adoc86 AHHHH!!! That's amazing!!!! I am so excited for you girl!!! Heres to hoping for a happy and healthy 9!!!

@Hopeful_mom@kangastein felling a lot better today just the normal after retrieval pressure.
Nervous for tomorrow transfer hoping for some good quality embryos. They didn't check them this time around because studies show the less you mess with the embryos the better they thrive. The weather here is PA is a bit on the winter side today hoping the storm doesn't bring to much snow overnight since i have to be at the doctors at 830am.
@tiffavis12 @ isthisthereallife wishing you both the best for a smooth transfer and sticky sticky vibes your way to ur beans. Hoping they get all comfy cozy! Its freezing here in NY so make sure you bundle up ladies!! can't wait to hear after its all said and done yay!!! My one piece of advice is dont over drink the water like me, i literally was going to wet the table, it was awful...wouldn't change a thing now but still.

We had 1 perfect blast 4aa quality. 8 of the embryos are still developing so we only transferred the perfect one. The dr said twins would make my already large ovaries worse so recommended just the 1. Tomorrow we find out how many we can freeze. Dr said it was a perfect transfer with no issues or blood on the cath, the embryo glidded in nicely. Now we wait til 12/23...

ljsmith805 Starting meds went well-though the super vivid dreams have started from the lupron. It is actually a little odd as I felt like we got a lot of direction (or at least some) about stims for IVF but really there hasn't been much info other than my med calendar for the FET meds. I hope I am doing it all ok.
Isthisthereallife Your already taking PIO? Wow...I don't start that part till 1/5 or something like that. Sorry its such a pain in the arse! Sounds like you had solid numbers that fertilized!

Re: October/November IVF
@kangastein great news!! Will you be transferring one or two?
@isthisthereallife & @tiffavis12 Good luck today ladies!
AFM I am over this PIO. It is making me gain weight and bloat to the point that hardly any of my pants fit and those that do are so uncomfortable. I have not been eating any differently and have still been working out, but I just had to order a belly band!! I know that obviously im
going to gain weight while pregnant, but it's not typically happening at only 6 weeks so when someone says that to me it's just irritating. I feel awful and cannot wait to be done with it. I'm super petite height-wise (4'10") so even small amounts of weight gain tend to be pretty noticeable. My RE even said "every ounce of weight shows on someone of your stature" gee thanks!

Surely they've checked them at some point this week!

i transferred today but not too excited, our poor embryo quality seems to still be present and we had 2 "early blasts" that we transferred. Feeling pretty bummed and not at all hopeful. Dr said maybe one or two others would pull through
@Isthisthereallife and @tiffavis12 those are awesome reports of fertilized eggs!
@DDRGirlie Congrats!!
afm- had my frozen transfer today-transfer two embabes, had acupuncture (only post-op) and drinking beet juice, Brazil nuts and pineapple. Ha. Trying to stay positive but it's easier to be pessimistic.
Beta test 12/18.
Also I'm so nervous about the tww and how I'm going to try to hide my anxiety, not focus on my stomach. Ugh. What helps u guys get through it?
@Isthisthereallife Congrats on your ER yesterday, 13 is AMAZING! And 9 Fertilized it great!!! Thats how many we had
I am also sorry you had to worry so much with your clinic not calling
By the second week I feel like the excitement had kind of faded and I started to have more doubts and go a smidge crazy
I am positive I missed many things, but I am always thinking about all of you ladies and sending prayers your way! xoxo

Sometimes it's just easier to think that way and then end up pleasantly surprised
AFM... we have a heartbeat! 119 beats which the doctor said is perfect. It's still so surreal and it hasn't really hit me yet. I have been starting to get queasy though and have some
food aversions so I'm sure reality is about to hit :-P

@hopeful_mom thanks! I transferred two day 5 early blasts! I'm trying to stay positive... and take it easy which I find hard to do!
