Joslynj11 I just bought my meds from Freedom Pharmacy because of recommendations (I didn't have time to price them all out as needed them ordered ASAP.

I was a little frustrated with there process as they didn't really seem on the ball about it. Also they didn't seem able to give me the individual pricing of the meds (just the lump sum price which they seemed very surprised that none of it was covered by health insurance-I was not surprised). I got Dex, Gonal-F (300 x10-but only doing 225), Monpur (2 vials x 10), Lupron trigger, Cetrotide, Novral...plus a sharps container and other supplies $5844. I am on the OCP Antagonist (BCP) plan. I have PCOS and have lots and lots of follices but they rarely matured when on Letrozole and doing IUI's.

Adoc86 how did the first day of injections go? I will be starting on Sunday.

Isthisthereallife I hear ya! A few weeks in the long run is not a big deal...its just the here and now that makes it hard to wait.

We are doing FET because we are doing CSS (PGS) testing. But also because CCRM recommends FET to let your body start a new cycle to get fresh non IVF drug cycle for doing implantation. I think it is sorta their MO most of the time. Sounds like the DR is super serious about how she wants the lining to look etc. They said with the IVF drugs, CSS, and FET that we were 80-90 percent likely for this IVF/FET cycle to bring success.

I keep trying to find info on the usual timeline between a retrieval and FET. So much going on to plan weeks out of town for the FET (I have to drive 10 hours both ways to get to my Dr) not yet knowing when monitoring dates will be or when the FET might happen.

Hugs to all of you ladies. I'm staying home today because my cramps are ferocious (thankful to be on cd 2 though). I finally have my script list so that I can start price shopping! We have CVS Caremark and its pretty frustrating to figure out if we are covered, but the doctors office is going to try and aggressively get things approved. On their site it says everything is covered, but then states that the doc needs to fax over a form for "medical necessity'' in order for it to be reviewed, and then they will tell me if its covered. It has me anxious because its either going to be roughly $5-6k, or $300...oyyy.

I'm starting BC tomorrow for 3 weeks, then 2 weeks of injections, so I will definitely have the ER at the end of November, but won't do the transfer until the lab opens back up at the beginning on January.

Home from ER. Got 15 eggs! Can't wait to hear how many are fertilized tomorrow!

@Colleen0516 I had a similar situation with my old RE. They had me doing IUIs that were never going to work because of my DH morphology. Thankfully, my insurance covered it entirely. But I wish they would have said something or skipped it and saved me and DH the heartache of BFNs. Hopefully, your RE now can address the issue and you will have BFP!

@mandasand Divide your belly into many different sections. I didn't have quite as many injections as some of you do, but i divided my belly into 4 sections in each area left, middle, and right. And then switched injection sites and rotated in an X shape. I hope that makes sense. I didn't have any bruises except the one where my DH freaked out and ripped it out

Hi everyone, I have my retrieval tmrw at 11. My E2 is over 10000. I feel like that is too high , but they just say watch for symptoms of ohss.

@BecauseLove much better than expected lol. I was worried about mixing the Menopur wrong since I never got any type of in person instruction (maybe I was silly to assume I would?) on what to do. The last time I was in the office my nurse was busy with some emergency and didn't have a chance to go over anything, so she just quickly explained it over the phone. I was worried about screwing up this cycle and wasting a ton of money by messing up the drugs. Turned out to be easy though. Today is day 3 for me of Menopur & Gonal F and so far no bruising or soreness. I also haven't felt any burning, which is something most people seem to experience when injecting Menopur from what I've read. Its still early, but so far I haven't had any side effects other than sleeping SUPER deeply. I am usually a light sleeper, but ever since the first night of injections I have been going into such a deep sleep that my husband literally has to shake me awake because I'm not phased by the alarm clock. Weird.

At some point I'm going to add in Cetrotide so we'll see how that goes. I hope all goes well for you on Sunday!

@ahoc86 Thats exactly the meds i was on. I did feel some burning when injecting menopur, so I'm jealous that you don't! lol I agree with getting good sleep but i think its because the meds made me so tired.

@DDRGirlie Its nice not having any burning, but then I think - is this working?! The vial of Menopur I first got out tonight didn't even have anything in it! There was a TINY bit of white cloudy liquid at the bottom, but no chunk of powder like usual. Thankfully I *know* the vials I used Monday & Tuesday had the powder because I made it a point to look at it while it dissolved. Otherwise at this point I'd be wondering if they had been empty too and all I had been injecting was saline, ha!

@JamieH2000 thanks. IM getting nervous, but the clinic is not. Im already have to do a freeze all cycle so maybe that is why they are not that worried. Has anyone heard that more follicles means bad egg quality?

i actually had my first ultrasound since starting stims today. guess how many eggs they roughly saw.....24!!!!! imy so freaking happy. my first ivf had 12. 2nd ivf had 16. just hoping they all grow. shots have been going fine. no bruising this time. im feeling a little sore already in my ovaries. my estradiol was 679 today. so I guess tomorrow my dosage goes up to 300 follistim and 300 menopur and start ganirelix. thet said ER next Tues or wed but im thinking tues.

How are you doing ? whats your update ?

@ahoc86 Thats seems similar to my first protocol thrilled you're not feeling the burn. I hate to say give it time

How many powder are you doing? I feel the less the dose is the less burn. I didn't start really feeling the pain till half way through stemming, hope yours continues to stay pain free!

@JamieH2000 so far I've done one blood test yesterday, Doc said continue injections as planned. I have blood again tomorrow and then ultrasound Friday, so I'll know more about how follies are growing then. Just staying in the thick of injections!

Im jealous of the non bruisers out there! Even though I don't have fair skin I bruise easily. I'm also doing acupuncture and that bruises me too. I have a roll on I'm using for the bruised skin so I'm feeling a little less sore today.

I always bruised too... my stomach this past round was the worst. The bruises started to blend together and looked horrible by the end .. the joys of a stimming. It's all worth it when you wake up from ER to hear your egg count

@shauna43- that is great news!! I hope they all keep growing too! My estrogen is only 340, but I have heard that estrogen priming can lead to long stim cycles, so hopefully it's just taking longer than usual to rise. They raised my follistim to 500, and the pen doesn't even go that high so I have to do two shots. Next monitoring is on sat, so we will know more then. When do you go back again?

@lrynwnab- I hope they are growing for you too! What day are you on again and when do you go in next?!

@mandasand- so exciting! Hoping for great numbers for you on Friday!

@Hopeful_mom I am only doing 37.5 iu of powder so one vial lasts me two days. Its a really low dose so that is probably why I'm not feeling anything when I inject.

@lrynwnab that's my plan. We are completely out of pocket so I don't want to just throw money down the drain. I already went through all the other vials to make sure that they look okay.

@JamieH2000 hopefully it's is the protocol that your on. im not sure I've ever done estrogen priming. what does that mean?

Luckily the follistim shot isn't too bad. the menopur is so bad to me. and tomorrow I have to mix 4 vials to 1cc of solution....dreading that burn.

I'm on a antagonist protocol this time. my estraidol was 678 today ( day 6 stim). I think this protocol is working well. i have done the lupron protocol in past.

My next appointment is Sat too

Guess we will find out together how we are progressing . fx for you and your estraidol rises and there's some more eggs popping up.

@shauna43 with the menopur, have you tried icing the area? Injecting it really slowly has helped with the burning for me. I don't know, though, with 4 vials of powder if it will. 2 was the max I ever had to mix in.

@JamieH2000 fx the others catch up. I'm interested to know if others who have done epp had some catch up before retrieval. I've read about it happening.

Afm, I go for my baseline tomorrow. Ordered more meds today and should be starting them Friday.

@shauna43- Estrogen priming is where you do estrogen patches (and maybe ganirelax) in the luteal phase before AF and the stim cycle. Its supposed to prime the follies (because they like estrogen) and prevent lead follies. But it can also suppress them and make them grow slowly and stim for a while. Glad your protocol is working well! I can't wait to hear your update on Saturday! We may be having ER on the same day

@kp214- Glad you are starting today! FX for a good baseline with a good follie count! I really hope EPP works good for you.. so far its better for me.. but we will see how this finishes up!

@JamieH2000 I had another appointment today. This is Day 11 of stims. I have 5 follicles and of those, 3 need to grow some more. They want me to stim until Sunday morning then go in again. We are really going all out to try to get enough for retrieval. Part of me thinks this is crazy but part of me is happy my new RE is working with me and my low supply. One other thing I am wondering, she had me start stims 2 days before AF came so maybe my body is just acting more in line with my cycle rather than with the drugs. fx that yours continue to grow and you are in business on Saturday!

I am off for my baseline US/Bloodwork on Saturday and start stims on Sunday. Excited and nervous...and eager to figure out how long after the retrieval we might be able to do the FET.

I just looked at my calendar and can see that this is all going really fast but it feels super slow.

@BecauseLove thanks. I started crying right before the put me under Bc I was thinking this is not how I imagined my baby to start. I think it was all the extra hormones I have in me. I was wondering about my FET date too. It should be at least 4 weeks right if not 5?

Hi all - I'm just jumping in here as starting stims for my 3rd Ivf 10/29. I similar to some here have done estrogen priming this cycle and at baseline today have 9 afc e2 of 41.4 / lh 12.9 and FSH 10.8. I'm 39 so my Antral count is low.i will be starting on menopur 150 in the morning and 300 iu follistim In the eve. I moved clinics from my first two failed attempts and am also doing a different protocal to the first two.

I got the call today that 8 out the 15 eggs retrieved fertilized!! I'm so excited, but trying to stay cautiously optimistic, just in case it doesn't work out.

@kwolf002 no my doctor said it wasn't necessary. I've never been pregnant so who knows? Right now i'm okay with it. I'm not worrying about it - I figure if we did that, we would know the sex. Right now I just want to keep moving forward and get to the next step of having the eggs grow and be ready for transfer.

AFM- I got a call today that 7 of my 10 embryos made it to freeze. Tomorrow will be day 2 of my cycle and since day 3 the office will be closed (Saturday) I go in tomorrow for blood work and an ultrasound. From there I'll be put on estrogen and then progesterone and hopefully have my transfer mid-late November

@Wishing41 welcome. Sounds like we will be in a similar schedule no start stims tomorrow if my e2 looks good. I have an afc of 5, so your 9 sounds like a lot to me. It's all relative. I'm doing EPP also.

I'm on my phone, which makes it difficult to keep up with each person. However, I want to say good luck to all who had a retrieval and embryos that are growing. To the others that are stimming, hang in there. Retrieval will be here soon!

NO i never tried icing..ive always heard to try heat. because the meds move better with heat. when cold it can freeze up and not move in your body. im excited for the both of you

@Kp214 yeah my hubby always injects slow. but menopur just hurts so bad. i guess overall 4 vials was only a little worse than 2. i halfway expected my stomach to be ripped to shreds. thats the way the needle feels. like my stomach is being ripped apart. im dramatic lol

Report came back. 15/23 mature. 13/15 fertilized. We have to wait and see Til Sunday or who makes it to day 5. So glad I'm done w meds!

@JamieH2000 thank you - it's great to have others to relate to and chat about things! I also used omnitrope & low dose hcg in my first two cycles - have moved clinics now and using a different approach with epp and menopur as it didn't have success for me unfortunately - main reason my age and poor egg quality.
