@kp214- Yay for getting started!! Hopefully you get a few days in before AF. I only got 4, but still wearing the estrogen patch now (and until trigger), so hopefully its helping!

mandasand -Sorry work is so busy hopefully it calms down soon. This process is so stressful.. and work never helps. I am also curious about how many follies everyone had at their baseline and then how many they retrieved. They told me it goes down from baseline (I have heard to expect only 50% to be retrieved from baseline), but really hoping I can get more than that since I only have 9 follies to begin with. DOR just really sucks

@Winne81- I think it just depends on the office.. but I found out as soon as they decided my protocol. I would probably just call and ask when you will know (or if they can tell you what they are thinking already) so you can start shopping around. The biggest costs are always the Follistim or Gonal F... I think there are some coupons on some websites and a compassionate care program you could sign up for. I haven't looked into it that much, since I have some insurance coverage, but maybe some of the other ladies know more.

went to the DR today for a beta so we could start ivf on Monday 10/24 BUT they called with my results and it came back BFP. I'm shocked. I can't wait for DH to get home so I can tell him. My number is low at only 64 but they don't think I'm far along at all and will check again Friday. FX this sticks and my number doubles

Hi all! @Colleen0516 - happy post-ER day! I had 19 eggs retrieved. Was super happy with that number. Got a call this morning that of the 19 eggs, 16 were mature follicles and 12 have fertilized. Now we just need those 12 embryos to grow, grow, grow! After we determine the number that make it to Day 5, we are having genetic testing done so that we can figure out which are the best ones to transfer, which requires us freezing them and then I would have to do a frozen cycle next month. Fingers and toes and everything else crossed for all of us!

@Knottie42f33742093f9c95 my crankiness didn't set in until day 8 and day 9 of shots. That's when you get bloated and you feel like you can see your ovaries when you look down. And your hormones are up to your eyeballs.

thanks ladies! @Colleen0516 i thought so even from the start the 364 seems to high to be of much concern but i also happy for my piece of mind they are keeping a close eye on things. congrats on the great numbers too, hope the quality is much better this time around for you.

this afternoon however i received a phone call from the other RE in the office saying she wanted me to come in friday for beta#3 instead of in a week so maybe ill get to schedule ultrasound then. im eager to find out how many are in there...DH is very concerned about anything more than 1 lol

Afm- got officially diagnosed with scleroderma (auto immune disease). Also had baseline today and I got cleared for Friday Stims

so excited to start again. My re said if this doesn't work I have enough time for a dec fet. Fx this works tho

@JamieH2000 I am a little worried with only 8 follies but the reason why they gave me this protocol is to maximize retrieval of ALL follicles, since I have DOR. FX!

I need some advice. I'm thinking that my retrieval is going to be this coming Monday. Should I take off from work Tuesday? How did you feel the day after?

@DDRGirlie my clinic recommends resting day after retrieval (24 hours or so). Transfer they recommend up to 5 days! I blocked myself out of work as "tentative Time Off" Nov 3-5 and Nov 8-11. I can work from home.

Clinic gave me a bunch of heavy pain killers to take before and after retrieval/transfer, so that leads me to believe it must be pretty darn painful. I'm a sissy though.

@JamieH2000 unfortunately it means I need lovenox shots (blood thinner) but I can't have it because I had a brain hemmorage. Soooooooooooooooooo yeah...i have a explanation for miscarriage and infertility but nothing anyone can do. Im sneaking aspirin tho please don't judge or lecture me.

@JamieH2000 my retrieval is scheduled for 10/27, but I have to wait Til next cycle to do a FET Bc they told me about a new genetic testing that takes 7-10 days to get the results. Is anyone doing nexCCS?

@DDRGirlie I didn't take off from work after the retrieval or the transfer. However, I have DOR so it probably wasn't as bad for me as it is for some with more follicles. I think I took the Tylenol 3 they gave me after I got home but that was it. Everyone is different.

@JamieH2000 We did an iui the 1st of September and I had beta done 09/16/16 and it was BFN. AF came for a few days later and lasted for 3 days and then later that week I dropped another clot and haven't had anything since. This was completely unexpected as AF should have started this week and we were preparing for ivf on Monday.

@JamieH2000 I started the Lupron Sunday. Thankfully I have not had any headaches. Sorry to hear you have -- side effects are the worst. I'm on 450 of Gonal F per day, too.

@mandasand Good luck with starting your meds! It is so challenging to stay on top of things at work during stimming when you don't feel your best. Hopefully things are fairly relaxed.

@shauna43 I don't judge you at all! I understand how badly you want a baby, just be careful! The doctors said there are no other options? also, is it a guarantee that you will miscarry, or just a higher rate?

AFM: Waiting for transfer day... I got my hair done yesterday. Isnt it amazing how a new haircut can change your mood?!? I need a baby thought because im losing my damn mind-- i added a purple streak to my hair lol

I actualy love it--- my husband thinks im nuts hahaha.

@Colleen0516 no theres nothing else that can be done.although I am on predisone longer this time like the whole pregnancy if it works. I just want to be pregnant with my own baby so bad. I have a higher rate of miscarriage. But looks like I'm 2 for 2 in the miscarriage dept.

I got my hair done last ivf in aug...i think it picked up my spirits because I was certain the ivf failed. When is your transfer?

@shauna43 no judgements here girl! I agree with Colleen, check with your doc and maybe you can try and alternative. My doc told me aspirin is no go during this process!

@Colleen0516 I chopped off all my hair two weeks ago, it felt so good! Husband wasn't super happy I was going to do it but he said it's cute afterwards. Hey, it's my head! You certainly are not nuts! it's not unusual to do something to make yourself feel good - especially after all you've been through! Wear your new streak proud!! I love purple! Purple is in right now!

Congrats everyone! I just got back from blood/u/s and it's looking like triggering either tonight or tomorrow for a Saturday or Sunday retrieval.

@JamieH2000 I had 22 follies at baseline and it looks like I have 10-11 right now that are big enough to be mature. I just had a u/s this morning and there were about 14 measurable but only like 10 or so that looked big enough to be mature. I think it's different for everyone though. One of my ovaries is responding much better than the other one, so that is a little strange.

My purple isnt toooo noticable, I have dark underneath my hair anyways, so the purple blends in...but every now and then it pops out. Im loving it

@taradise99 my follicles are about the same with my left ovary being the champ that responded better. so weird!

AFM I just completed the second trigger of my 2 shot lupron. I had labs this morning to assess if I responded well to the the first trigger shot (that i took last night) and everything came back great! So tomorrow is ER day for me. Please keep your fingers crossed for good quality eggs!

I had my u/s this morning and the lining is just under 7. My fet is two weeks from today, so my re was happy with that size. Now it just needs to keep getting thicker. My estrogen also came back at a good level. Now only one more monitoring appointment til the transfer.

Another another note, my headaches from lupron have been pretty terrible the past two weeks. I went to acupuncture on Tuesday and within 5 min of her starting the needles, my headache was gone and is still gone today. Not sure if it was acupuncture, adding in estradiol or the combo, but I'll take it

AF finally made her entrance! Have day 3 labs this weekend. I started spotting yesterday late morning and reached full flow during the evening so I wasn't sure whether yesterday or today should be CD 1??

I called my clinic but they weren't very helpful with helping me to decide. I just hope that getting labs on Saturday vs. Friday won't make much of a difference.

Now I just gotta worry about scheduling the hysteroscopy and figuring out how I'm going to work out my calendar with my job. My clinic opens at 7am but I'm usually at work by 6:30 or 6:45. I don't want to tell my boss that I'm undergoing IVF but I'm pretty sure he's going to be wondering why I keep making special requests. What are you ladies doing about the work factor?

I should be excited that things are finally moving along but today is a low day for me

I'm partly happy to get things rolling but it just causes all my anxieties about failing and never being able to have biological children to bubble to the surface. It's so crazy to have days when I'm perfectly fine and then to others when I feel like I could cry if I see another baby

SwtAnana yay for AF coming and getting started. I'm sure that everything you're feeling is very normal. Just stay strong and gotta keep faith this will be the cycle! In regards to work, I ended up telling my two bosses and my other team member. I initially didn't want to, but during my cycle monitoring for IUI, I was at least half an hour late every other day. I wanted to make sure that my boss knew what was going. Now I feel like they have been very willing to give me the flexibility that I need which is so important to me. You have to do what feels right for you though. If you're not comfortable sharing, you shouldn't.

I was told that if full flow is before 4pm to count that as day 1. I don't think it really makes a difference if it is day 3 or day 4, though.

@tiffavis12 yeah for beta buddies! I will most likely POAS before I go in for my Beta on Monday. I'm going back to work after my blood draw and will get the call there so I'd like to be prepared.

AFM: I've been trying not to symptom spot bc with my last FET I swore I was pregnant and ended with a BFN. Last night I broke down at choir practice. My choir director is an Ob Gyn sp he and ladies were asking me about everything and I just started sobbing. Everyone was hugging me and we prayed for my little pumpkins. It was really nice. My pumpkins are so wanted by not only my DH and I but everyone surrounding us.

So I was just thrown a curve ball... we hd a plan, we would transfer 3... I just got a voicemail that it will only be 2 bc they look excellent. I'm happy they look excellent but I am PETRIFIED, to transfer 2 again. I've done this too many times, I'm done after this. I'm just at a loss on how I am supposed to have faith in something that has failed me so many times.
Im so upset... but headed into the city now

Happy Friday ladies. I love reading everyones progress throughout their IVF cycle. I was so relieved to have "warning" cramps this morning, which means my period will be starting in a few days (on time). I think this is the most excited and eager I have ever been to have my period start

I think as soon as I start my estrogen priming, I will feel like i can contribute more to this board. Right now I'm just lurking like crazy

I am a bit nervous though about my egg retrieval and transfer. I want to have my transfer before the mid-December close off date at the lab, and they said that would work, but its going to be close since i am doing PGS (its in house). If I take 2 weeks of estrogen priming, and then 12 days of stimulants and then trigger, it will be pretty much on Thanksgiving, and I don't know how they handle that, or if it can be manipulated to a different day. I messaged the nurse yesterday, so I'm hoping to get a response from her to calm my anxious nerves.

AFM Egg retrival was this morning 14 retrieved and I'm feelig good so far, no pain or cramps. They'll call me tomorrow with the fertilization report. FX for good news.

@Colleen0516 - I totally understand how a change like that would make you upset. Maybe you can talk them into 3 tomorrow? Maybe they think these 2 embryos are the best looking you have ever had! Perhaps there would be some other ones left over to freeze? good luck tomorrow and can't wait to hear how it goes!

SwtAnana - yay for getting started! I totally feel you about the anxiety to never have biological children. If I think about the "worst case" scenario of my situation, I can get really low. I do my best to distract myself.. but the reality is terrifying. Praying that we both get our good news this cycle!

@jodes727- I love accunpuncture too! most of the time it makes me feel a lot better after and a lot less stressed. It helped me a ton yesterday, but woke up again feeling anxious about my appt on sunday.

@winnie81- Hope AF comes soon! Its funny how sometimes we want it so bad and other times its the worst news. I really hope all the timing works out for you before the holidays. that's awesome they can do PGS in house!

@juliaann86- Congrats on great numbers! That's great you feel so good after. I am so worried about even getting to retrieval, that I haven't really thought about how that will be. I guess I will take whatever pain as long as they can get some eggs! FX for a good update tomorrow!

So my anxiety attack is over. We transferred the 2 excellent embryos. When my doctor originally called me, I didn't see it and she left a voicemail. From the little she said, I stressed and panicked. I called her back and finally spoke with her, and after hearing her reasoning I felt better.
Apparently of the 11 embryos, 2 were dividing perfectly (8 cell and 9 cell), the others weren't doing so great. She went back and forth whether or not to put 2 or 3 in. In the end, she said her gut was saying 2. She feared tht if an abnormal embryo and a healthy embryo took at the same time, the abnormal could miscarry (which I have a history of) and then I would lose them both. She didn't want to risk it, so we went with two. She feels that these two are strong enough that it could create twins. I feel much better about it now, but I'm still obviously nervous.
All my hopes and dreams are in those two little chickadees! Hoping they decide to stay with me!
