We just left session 1 of the childbirth class we are taking at the hospital where I will be delivering. I am so excited to give birth and to meet our baby girl. I couldn't help but tear up at the end when the nurse showed us a birth video. I am just amazed. I feel like a big pile of mush!

Ok, so I know nothing is instant, but I tried pigeon pose, feet up the wall, some stretches I found online, heat, and Tylenol last night to help with my sciatica and it's not better today. The heat and Tylenol don't really make a dent, the stretches and yoga poses feel really good when I'm doing them but as soon as I'm done you'd never know I did them. Has anyone had any luck with a pregnancy support belt helping with sciatica? My chiropractor is out of town but I'm considering calling another one in town that specializes in pregnancy but am unsure about that. Also considered seeing if there is anywhere that does pregnancy massages that I can get in to today. Anyone have a vote one way or the other of what's worked better? We are going to Chicago tomorrow and will be doing a lot of walking and my husband is worried we need to cancel the trip. We have Bears tickets for Sunday and I'm adamant that I can make it. But I'm in pain.
@shlecka I just hit this point too! I knew it was coming because I've been bending farther and farther and then pushing on the belly but now...no more. Lady bits have been lost to the belly abyss!
Tomorrow is my DDs 2nd bday party. I reserved a covered area at a park to avoid having it at my house and having to clean, host and all that. But we are having a huge wind and rain storm and crazy weather. We just had a tornado on the coast. That's never happened in Oregon! Now we are doing the party at our house and I'm so exhausted. My feet hurt and I've had Braxton hicks all day on and off.
@shlecka Hahahaha I'm not happy to see others also unable to see their pube area but I'm also so happy to not be alone. I have to stand in front of the bathroom mirror and groom by looking in the mirror. It's the weirdest thing.
I'm seriously regretting telling my FIL to take a week off from coming up to help work on our house. I'm super appreciative that he's come every weekend for nearly 2 months now and think he deserves to have a free weekend to spend with my MIL because they're both such kind, awesome people, but... I can't put anything in the nursery because it's like the one room where the baseboards still need to be put back on and there's still random construction supplies laying around, so all of his stuff is still in boxes in a storage closet.
I was going through photos on my phone last night and saw some photos of cute baby clothes we had bought and was like, "I FORGOT WE EVEN GOT THAT FOR HIM" because it's been in a box for so long.
@underthesea I'm going way over the top for DD1'S birthday and I'm half convinced it's only because I'm able to plan it all before DD2 is born. I'll have 0 energy (or focus) then! Gotta do it while you can!

Just put together the Diaper Genie. Wtf? Why are there so many pieces? I just assumed it was one big thing you took out of the box and it magically worked. Ugh. I feel like this is just the start of putting together overly complicated baby things.
@AshleySparkle720 we did an over the top bday for my DDs first and I toned it down a bit for her second. But it is so much work!! I feel like baby 2s first bday is going to be really basic but I want to try to make it as nice as her big sister.
@christac1010 Oh no. We still have our DG sitting in a box and I thought the same, that it would just be a single item in the box--how many pieces/steps are there?
We bought a Rock 'n Play sleeper for our bedroom so he can co-sleep with us bedside for a little while and put that together Friday night and even though I knew there'd be some assembly required, I didn't realize the instructions were going to be so convoluted. It kept referencing all these different add-on items we didn't have on ours like an infant support head piece and a "soother"--not actually mentioning that they were optional add-ons so we were turning the box over and scratching our heads like, "Where is this stuff???"
@canavara I think it was three main pieces and then the filter and the insert. Getting everything to snap together was like... wtf? I had to reread the instructions to finally notice that it said everything may not perfectly align. I also should have waited for DH. Not in a helpless woman way but he's actually watched his nephew and has experience with this contraption. I've never been alone with an infant for more than the five minutes my best friend went to the bathroom.
Someone bought the Rock 'n Play off our registry so I also have that to look forward to now. Are you thinking of buying any add-ons? I'm wondering if I should be proactive and look now.

For sure! We will pretty much always be screwed when it comes to birthday parties because 1. Their birthdays won't be very far apart and 2. I'm a professional event planner so all of my friends and family have high expectations of my parties. Which is why I rarely have them! HA!

Hahaha @PMForbie. I was thinking over the weekend, "I wish it were Christmas so I could burn balsam fir candles again!" and then I thought really hard about that and was like, "Nope! Too soon!" and had an existential crisis realizing we're 11 weeks away now from birthtimes!
I just got off the phone with a client at work and he was asking me what I did over the weekend and I was like.......... "Oh ya know, getting ready for the baby, can't believe there are 13 weeks left!" Then I thought, "13 WEEKS??? IF THAT!!!! HOLY MOLY PEEPS!!!!!"

@shlecka can't see my lady bits anymore either. When I was asked what I wanted for my bday, I considered saying a gift certificate for a waxing salon.
I can't believe we're already in the 3rd trimester. I was telling my mom I was so excited to meet the baby in 11ish weeks and she goes "well she can come anytime after 37 weeks and it'll be fine."
I freaked out at the possibility that I may have a full term baby in 8 weeks. There's so much to do.
Haha... I have to admit, the planner in me started freaking out at the 20 week countdown. The good news is I have totally justified skipping my Saturday morning workouts now because I only have X weeks left of sleeping in.
I don't know if he's been secretly reading this message board and snooping on me but my fiancee brought home one of those scent stick diffuser things last night... and it's balsam fir-scented. Our whole house smells like Christmas right now and I'm having psychologically induced braxton hicks in response to it haha.
So I learned today that the boy who played Thackery Binx on Hocus Pocus (the one who turns into the cat) grew up to be special agent McGee on NCIS. Mind blown.
@carly79 yes! I watched hocus Pocus two weeks ago and I have been binge watching NCIS on Netflix for a month and I never noticed - but now that I know it's so obvious lol
For kicks, I decided to load all of my left over baby items into my Target cart. Welllll, $650 later and I'm sure H is just going to be thrilled. I may see if I can find a used carrier and glider to help cut down some of the costs.

Last week I learned that the girl from "My Girl" is actually Amy in VEEP.
Since when did the Bump start having video ads pop up in the bottom corner? Please tell me I'm not the only one. And it's Clinton ads! I come here to get away from politics! There's enough of that everywhere else.

Was this on the computer or mobile? I'm mobile only... if I have to start seeing political ads on here I'm not going to be a happy camper! I would say I can't wait for the election to be over but then we're stuck with either Trump or Clinton as president, yuck... I've never been so appreciative of Obama and Bush, lol!
It's on the computer, but I closed the site and actually did some work since I'm at work and I don't see any now. If it comes back, I'm just going to switch to mobile until Nov. 8 lol
