So my first box from leTote was a bust. The quality was crappy. Just ordered from Asos cuz the have Tall Maternity! I'm 6'0 so that is like finding a four leafed clover. And on sale even cuz don't I know that they have a limited demo there! Woo hoo
Weird/semi premature question... Any suggestions for snow pants? Don't have to be maternity necessarily (are maternity snow pants even a thing?) Hoping not to spend too much, since *fingers crossed* will only be using them this winter.
If anyone is in the Minneapolis area, a store called Bellies to Babies just blew me away. It's a 2nd hand store that only deals in maternity clothes. For $100 I got 2 pairs of jeans, 2 dresses, 3 long sleeve tshirts and a pregnancy fleece. One of the pairs of jeans was new with tags from Gap- the clerk told me that Gap was very forgiving in their maternity sizes and my ego absolutely agrees it's technically one size smaller than I typically wear but thank god for uber stretchiness! I'll definitely be heading back there to check out the nursing top selection at some point.
Oh, and they also sell some of their stock online too
can anybody recommend a good maternity winter coat? i don't love the ones from motherhood. i tried ASOS and JoJo Maman Bebe, and they didn't fit right. i would prefer wool, not puffer and there don't seem to be too many options. i'm open to puffer if i can't find wool though.
@cruffino I found a maternity coat at old navy for about $50. It's not the absolute best in terms of quality but I think it looks nice and will work for a couple months. I did size up so I could fit a sweater under it and kind of wish I hadn't because it's huge on me for now. Who knows in a couple of months, though!
@lemieuxk thanks for the suggestion. i checked out old navy and i see a wool-type wrap coat that might work. i may order that. old navy is my go to for basics.
Crap, posted my 'deal' in here that belongs in the other threaaaad. Why can't we just delete posts so we don't have to own up to our failed Bump Board Etiquette?
If anyone lives in a colder climate and is looking at winter coats, this one that Motherhood Maternity just emailed me looks cool! It has an additional "panel" in it to fit the baby bump, then you can remove that panel post-partum so you can still wear the jacket normally and not have it swimming on you, and then you can put the panel back in and wrap it around you and baby! It's a pretty cool idea so that your money is put to good use long-term!
For those of us who live in less wintery climates, Target has tons of those massive poncho-scarf-wrap thingies on sale right now. I just bought two and I think they'll take me through most of the winter, and I'll easily be able to wear them post-baby!

What's a poncho scarf wrap thingie? I'm intrigued ... picture?
I hate coat shopping even when I'm not pregnant because cute petite coats are not very easy to find (and really expensive when you do). I'm reasonably convinced petite maternity coats just don't exist. Honestly, I'm pretty much just ignoring the fact that it's getting cold and will probably end up spending a lot more money than I want to on a coat that I don't really like when it gets too cold for me to ignore anymore.
Old Navy has a few coats that are pretty reasonable! I was telling myself I would wear my coat and just not button it. But realistically, that probably won't cut it in NE Ohio. Boo hooo.

This is where I am at right now. I live in Iowa so yeah, ridiculously cold. At the same time, I'm too cheap to buy a coat that I will only wear for two or three months.
I just bought this today and I'm so excited about it! It's so thick and soft. I think it's going to be great for our trip to London this weekend (inc the plane ride!) and I'm hoping it'll get me through the winter in lieu of a maternity coat. Thanks for the tip, @NiceyMeany !
@mommabean yay I love the one you picked!! Also I own those boots in the photo and they're so freakin comfortable. Thinking about recreating that entire outfit now, with my bump as an added accessory.
Obviously it doesn't get as cold here in Florida as where many of you ladies are, but I just bought a thick maternity vest from Old Navy. I am going to zip that up under my regular jackets, and that will probably get me through February.
I'm in MN and in serious denial about needing to buy a new jacket. My soft shells are already getting REALLY tight to zip over the bump, and I still refuse to look for a jacket. I have a snowmobile pit coat (photo below - H races snowmobiles, and I wear this jacket OVER a normal thick winter coat because that's sexy but warm) and I keep telling myself this will be perfectly fine...until the day I get angry and insist on something cuter. Pretty much I decided I was going to wear a mumu jacket for the entire winter.
Now that we're farther along does anyone have any leggings that they like? I have been wearing my regular leggings the past few days under my bump but I'd like to get at least one actual maternity pair.
I haven't been much of a leggings person until recently so I don't have much of a basis of comparison but I have really been liking the Lularoe ones I have in TC, they are very generous in the tummy area (I personally don't like the maternity pants that go under the bump)
@LilyASF42 I have a couple things I got from Lularoe for my daughter and I about a year ago and I'm not a big fan. The leggings come up over my bump but the line from the mid part of the waistband is really noticeable no matter what shirt I wear and I have been really unhappy with the quality.
I agree that the quality of LLR is hit or miss, especially for the price you pay, but the leggings have been mostly good for me. If the top is clingy I see the line too, but that's usually just at home and I don't care :-) At work with sweaters they have been fine. Hope you find a pair you like!
@cantalopes24 How cold is it where you are? I bought the motherhoood ones and OMG I am in love. They have a slightly fleecy lining to them, but it's not overly hot. They also had a ton of cotton ones if you want something cooler.
I just ordered legging from Walmart.com and I'm pretty impressed.
Are they the fleecy ones I raved about pages ago?? Best purchase!
No, not the fleece ones but I got the Inspire Maternity and Glamour maternity. I bought some houndstooth ones that may be the softest leggings I have ever put on.
Re: Maternity clothes
Edit because it ate half my post!
