I am so sad I live in a small backwater town in Canada. I felt so spoiled being in a big city this past week. I found a store that almost everyone here has heard about called Motherhood Maternity and it was my GOD SEND. They don't exist in Canada, or at least certainly no where in my Province. I managed to get out of there with the two pairs of black maternity pants I desperately need for work and two super comfy sweaters for $100US(it'll be $130 CAN on my Visa bill, but still!) I am going to have to look up their website and pray they ship to my area because I only have Old Navy for an option where I am, and I don't want to make the two hour drive to our major city to find a maternity shop
@FreshBakedBrownies Personally, I think you might be cutting it a little close with the fleece-back leggings. I'm 5'7" and ordered a size S/M and they fit great for me, but I don't think there's 4 more inches of stretch in there. I'd order a size up if you want to try them.
If you don't care about the fleece, I also ordered a pair of these in S/M, and they have toooons of extra length. I specifically like that these are seamless and don't have cotton, but that means they're smooth and super stretchy rather than super soft.

For the magical Walmart leggings, do they work for tall people? I'm 5'11" and usually buy 34" inseam pants. I know some leggings stretch in length, but some a would just be capris on me.
Can someone post a picture of exactly what magical leggings were bought at Walmart?? I've never been a fan of leggings, but for some reason I am so over full panel maternity jeans and need some options. I also hate spending $20+ on leggings.
@BeckS13 They do ship in Canada! It's through UPS, I believe, so as long as UPS delivers to you, you should be fine.
Also, Gap is having a 40% off online sale right now, I just picked up some shirts and pants for a really reasonable price. Don't know if it's Canada only, but it's on until the 15th...
@poetryandoceans That is awesome to learn, thank you! I'll be sure to look up their website now. I'll also browse the Gap next time i'm at the mall, I had no idea they did maternity wear.
I just found out that Amazon has Jojo Maman Bebe maternity coats for more than half off the website price! $68 for a coat that is listed as $148 on the name brand site. Figured I would share, as we're all getting big and will be in need of snuggly coats!
Pink Blush makes me want to cry!! I was nervous to order from them so I only ordered a pair of leggings and a tunic. I waited over 10days for it to get to me. Got it home and it fit perfect and the leggings were a dream.....until I looked down and they had a hole on the topside of the thigh!! I wanted to cry!! So I emailed them and they can't replace them because they are out of stock now. I'm so upset. On a brighter note though, I have been trying to find some jeggings/skinny jeans to wear with my boots and have had no luck. I ordered a pair of ANA brand from JCPennys maternity and they fit so good. I have big legs and calves so skinny jeans are very hard for me to find.
@jstringfellow19 I almost cried when I went to our local JC Penney and found out they no longer carry maternity stuff in store. I live near a decently sized city, but my options for maternity are Old Navy (which I personally hate) and a limited selection at Target. Being tall, ordering online is sooo hit or miss. I may have to check out JC Penney online after all...
@carsandlove I found out that most JCPenney and Kohl's stores quit carrying maternity in store. The closest Old Navy with maternity is over an hour away. So I have Motherhood and Target. I hate ordering online, but when you need clothes it's trial and error I guess.
@PerraSucia - what do you mean by struggling with jeans? Like can't find any? I am a 25 and my only options were H&M or Zara (I'm also in Canada, so more limited selection). Anyways, those would be my suggestions! My suggestion to myself would have been to keep my jeans from last go-round...but no...I was sure I was only having one kid.
I'm loving ASOS maternity but forget the maternity panty hose. The elastic at the top stretches out too much and I have to plan my trips out of my office to allow to stop somewhere to hike EM beck up. Almost had them around my knees this am after a meeting! !
@Starfish113 not exactly sweaters, but zulily has a ton of funny holiday-themed tshirts right now, and a couple have "sweater" patterns on them. I 100% bought the one that says "Merry Christmas, ya filthy animal."
I finally broke down and ordered a maternity coat. I found one at Walmart for a steal - $15! Not the most attractive but for two months it will be just fine. The reviews were decent and I really just need something that can zip. If it seems thin I figured I could layer underneath. I added the link in case anyone was interested!
This might be more of a weekly random, but I wasn't sure which post it fit better on so I'll put it here.
My underwear are starting to not fit. I usually wear VS size L or XL depending on the cut. Well the L just aren't working anymore and I guess my selection of XL isn't what I thought it was. I do not want to buy maternity underwear just for the next few months. So what are the best ones to get from say Walmart. Like Hanes or Fruit of the Loom and what cut/style? If they can function as postpartum "granny panties" that will be a plus too.
I've been living in Gap's cotton hipster undies. Normally, I wear Soma stuff, but the Gap ones are so much more comfortable now that my bump is so big. Also, I've found that the maternity ones fall down if I walk too much... Not sure if the butt part doesn't fit me quite right or what, but I bought three pair early on and hardly ever wear them.
I chanced to order some clothes online from Motherhood Maternity the other day. The first couple of things arrived almost next day to my surprise, but I'm still waiting on a sweater(apparently it all shipped from different stores). I am pleasantly surprised with my purchases though, they all fit really well and nothing came damaged. I finally have maternity jeans now. I've done everything in my power to get my maternity wear on sale, and so far I've been able to get 4 pairs of pants, like 6 shirts, and 3 sweaters(at various locales) all for a little over $300(Canadian). I'm pretty okay with that.
@jstringfellow19 I sadly had to buy new underwear too. Mine were getting snug and uncomfortable. I found some Hanes ones at Kohls called Hanes X Temp bikini cut that are amazing!!! I love them! The waistband is so confortable. The bikini cut though is what really works right now, to sit under my bump, so not granny panty style, if that's more comfy for you?
Anyhow, they were in sale a weej or two ago for $9.99 a pack of 3. Otherwise $26 (so use kohls coupons, never pay full price at kohls!). I found undies called the same thing at Target for $10, but they aren't the same. The waistband isn't as soft and the leg openings are finished more cheap feeling.
@BeckS13 Can I just say how impressed I am that you're just now buying maternity jeans! I was in them from about 15 weeks on. Maybe it was just my dream of acceptable stretchy pants being realized, though

Ps- I hope I don't sound crazy for being so enthusiastic about underwear, but they are so comfy!
Thanks for this! I am normally a bikini or hipster kind of person, but I like full coverage for postpartum. Or atleast the first week or so. Just trying to save money where I can and not buy undies now and right before baby comes. I am going to look into those. I actually saw them at Target and wondered how they would be.
So, I just bought the largest cup size available in this maternity/nursing bra that I really like... We're talking approaching the middle of the alphabet for cup size letters at this point (ie. what you put in your Keurig). Now what? I assume these girls are going to grow a bit more when the baby is born and/or my milk comes in. Do most people switch to a sports bra/sleeping bra at that time? I can't even think about trying to find another brand/style that is comfortable; finding this one was so painful!
I was wondering what I'm going to do too @MLRocha!
Question for the stretchy bras - do I order based on my cup size or my band size? If I go by band size the size charts tell me to go with Small but cup size usually says to go with Large. Do I go in between and get a Medium?

@jstringfellow19 I got some high cut Hanes at Walmart. I believe they are also the xtemp ones. My belly pushes the waist and down a bit, but not too much that my underwear won't stay up. And I figured I can pull them up for pp.
@PerraSucia do these give decent support? I'm also big chested and cannot imagine not having underwire... but it sounds like underwire is super uncomfortable post partum?
@die frau I mean it's not the best lifting and separating but it totally does its job I can't wear underwire once my milk comes in because I get clogged ducts but I have particularly dense boobs?
@PerraSucia I think you mentioned you like Chloe - and I don't know if you shop Barney's (and also Barney's Warehouse online) but they are having their annual sale and lots of Chloe is on sale. I just got a pair of their scalloped flats for half off, and they have really cute boots and stuff too...
I hear you on that! For me the only thing that fits well/that I still feel like buying are shoes! Clothes are really depressing - so shoes it is for me and Barney's obliged
@MissMerciBeaucoup@PerraSucia I shopped the sale right around black friday when they were offering an additional 40% off and embarrassingly bought 5 pairs of shoes.
and now I'm going back to check and see what else is there!!!!!

The Gap sale is US too and it's all 3 brands- Old Navy and Banana, too. I placed an order yesterday! Free shipping when you spend $50 I think.
