  • (I think) some of the other BMBs are starting their birth announcement threads so early because for N16 and D16 it took almost a month to have it stickied. No clue why it took so long, but in december's thread, people from January were talking about starting theirs early for that reason
  • Oh my! 50% chance of survival is not good enough for me. Gahhhh! I don't want to think about this! Thank you, ladies, for the info though!

@srscott3 that's a very good point and I think you are right.  The bump admins have been slacking recently.

  • From what I remember, bmb's used to create their birth announcements threads 2 months prior. It seems like bmb's are starting them a lot earlier now.
I think most start them once there's been a birth. Which I'd be very much good with, and hopefully won't be for a lonnnngggg time.
    I like this best.

  • Soooo the TB 2nd tri checklist says we should be interviewing pediatricians already. Seems early to me. Is anyone actually doing this yet?
  • @Xstatic3333 This baby will see our family doc, who we love, the same as DD did. So, nope, no pediatrician interviewing going on for us.
  • @Xstatic3333 we take our kids to the same family dr we go to. He's been my husbands family dr since H's dad was born!! We won't be looking at pediatricians specifically. I've never heard of actually interviewing Dr's though. Normally for different Dr's like eye, or dentists, either my husband or I go first to be the guinea pig, and decide weather we think they could be a good fit before taking our kids. There's some crazy Dr's out there!! (I realize pediatricians are for kids only)

Nerd alert! One of my favorite podcasts is Radiolab. It's a science and philosophy centered show. It's not quite as nerdy as it sounds, they make it very lay-person friendly.

There was an incredible episode, which they also did a follow-up on about viability and it's flexibility depending on the doctor and the hospital.

It's a beautiful story, but def be prepared to get emotional.

  • @krob I love radiolab and heard this one as well. I cried a lot though.
  • @homemake Yes! I love fellow radiolabbers. My relationship with radiolab is like a very powerful drug. The very first episode I ever heard was "Falling" which blew my mind! I've been chasing that high ever since. I haven't quite had that same reaction to any of the others, but most leave me very satisfied

  • No one likes eyebrow piercings

So I'm late to the part and just now catching up. But @PerraSucia I have to admit, I like eyebrow piercings. I had one for years, only took it out because of my job, and I miss it all the time. But, I love piercings. I also used to have snake bites in my lip, my nose stud (which I still have), and my belly button used to be pierced.

I think i've mentioned this before, but I was really cool in the late 90's early 00's so I had piercings galore too :P
  • Piercings are my jam- I have the typical belly button and ears done, I also have a nose stud, a Venus, a microderm stud a few inches above my belly button, and both conches done with an opal stud in each.

I just have the one tattoo, b&w ribcage outline artwork with an om symbol, a lotus, an infinity, and a sorta heart symbol all swirled together from the bottom of my ribcage to my armpit. I go back and forth whether I regret it or not it's pretty simple and well, it's permanent so I think I'll keep it ;)
  • DH really wanted me to get my belly button pierced but I kept chickening out. I have no problem getting tattoos but for some reason the belly button needle was too much for me. Nose and ears are enough for me. My body takes forever to heal piercings for some reason anyways so it's probably a good thing I didn't get it. My cartilage piercing on my ear took like 5 years to heal and I'm at 4 years with my nose stud and it's still not perfectly healed.

  • @krob @homemake I LOVE RADIOLAB!!!!!  My favorite episode is "Colors."  I think it's a perfect episode - some history, some science, some philosophy, and some human-interest.

My DH hates my belly ring. He wishes I would take it out for good, but I begged my dad to let me get it, I paid for it, and I'm a baby and it hurt so I'm keeping it. But @marriedhamstermom I'm a chicken when it comes to needles too. After I got mine done, my mom said she couldn't believe I went through it. I asked why, and she said because that needle was huge! So the piercer girl showed it to me, and I was glad I didn't see it first, or I might have chickened out lol

  • I'm so confused with the 2 active weekly random threads, right now!

  • @yogadevil I had to google one of those and damn, girl!

I have my nose, three in each lobe, tragus on the left and conch and rook on the right. I think I can still get on in my right cartilage too, but never do. I used to have my belly and my tongue too.
  • Ok so who has their vag pierced?
  • @Spicyweiner I do, a Venus piercing

This is a description in words instead of photos. But technically it's goes above the clit.

The Christina (or Venus) piercing is a comparatively recent innovation. It is a surface piercing that is placed vertically at the top of the cleft of Venus (top of the vulva), optimally extending about an inch up the pubic mound (soft mound of flesh just above the genitals).

I just copied and pasted the description..

@Spicyweiner nowhere near the clit lol. It's centered and pierced between the labia right at the top crease there. The jewelry itself looks like a smaller barbell like you'd see with a bellybutton piercing

Lmao @kswiger06, I always thought it was less vulgar than the rest of the below the belt piercings, but maybe I'm just used to it at this point? It's by far my favorite piercing and one I'll never get rid of
