**PLEASE READ FIRST** board organisation + daily threads

***I have "borrowed" this thread from A17, just so we can get some daily threads happening and get us started. If there's any changes anyone would like to make let me know in the comments and we can discuss them.***

Some links that you may find helpful:

For those of you that are new to TB since you got your BFP, the threads below are standard threads to all boards. Anyone can start these threads, just please do not duplicate! Some work better if one person volunteers -- feel free to do so in the comments below! I'll list volunteers next to their chosen thread(s). If you do accidentally start a duplicate thread, that's a great opportunity to start a GIF party!

*****The community of this board encourages giving support as well as receiving it and prefers threads that benefit the whole rather than the individual.  A wide range of topics are covered in our regular weekly threads, and we also have two catch-all threads for questions/comments/discussions/announcements: “Pregnancy Chatter” (pregnancy/childcare) and “Randoms & Spam” (non-pregnancy/childcare).

If you have a specific question you’d like answered for yourself or announcement about your situation, please post it in one of the weekly topics or the chatter threads.  The exception to this is confirmed loss - please update us if you are comfortable doing so in either your own thread (for which you will receive response notifications) or in an existing relevant thread (which you will not unless the responder directly tags you).

If there is a discussion for the community that would be better served in its own thread, feel free to post it!  A good example of this may be a GTKY (Get To Know You) question or, as we near April, a thread about what people are planning for their hospital go-bags.

Daily Threads: (please add the date to the thread title)

Just so I understand better, does this mean that outside of loss threads people shouldn't be starting a thread but just posting in one of the already established ones? If so this feels pretty rigid and will definitely take some getting used to. I'm not sure if I love it or hate it but I can see how it would reduce AW threads.

  • I don't know how I feel about just a weekly randoms...seems like that would very get pretty full fast and hard to keep up with. I do like the idea of limiting AW threads so the other ones aren't pushed too far down.
  • @vrj0522 if it's a topic that others would ask, that hasn't been asked a few times before, then sure make your own thread.
@Stormy61 things like the FFFC, UO and TW Tuesday do keep the weekly ransoms down. But again if it doesn't work then there's no reason to keep it that way

  • I actually like the randoms thread... maybe if we see that it becomes a ridiculous number of pages each week, we can consider a daily thread (or even biweekly) instead of a weekly one.

  • One more thought, some of these seem to be overlapping but I guess we can try it all out and see what works best for our board and how we can streamline. I feel like it might be hard to have much of anything to discuss in the daily ticker change threads if we have a pregnancy chatter thread, a weekly appointments thread, and all the different check-ins, because those types of things are what are usually discussed in the ticker change threads.

  • I love the idea of having the thread organized. It probably seems a bit rigid at first but will definitely help keep organization of the board. I'd also be more than happy to take over the meal prep Monday!!!
  • Just wondering when are we going to get the ball rolling on our daily threads? I will gladly start any threads, I just wasn't sure if anything was assigned to a specific person or not?

  • Nothing is assigned yet, if anyone wants to start them feel free, I haven't because I'm on the other side of the world to most of you, so my days are out of whack.

  • Im like @partiallydomesticated and my day starts before most are even in bed from the night before. People certainly can volunteer to start any thread they like. I don't think we need assigned threads. But if @redpuma119 is interested in mealprep and wants to start it every week than I say go for it. But it also doesn't mean someone else can't start it if they want.

  • Is there a trick to getting the tickers to work? Mine don't seem to be showing... it just shows the code.

@hezzer78 hopefully this helps found it on a ticker&signature discussion on another board.
    1. Go to the signature settings.
    2. Click on the icon that has two red arrows like <>.  If you hover over it it says show source.
    3. Delete out everything in the text box.
    4. Paste the ticker text/code into the box and save.

Now that @pshaortao made a spreadsheet could we edit this info post to tell people to post their info in the spreadsheet or in the thread of that post? (If they want it included, of course.)

  • I don't know what twatwaffle Tuesday is but it sounds a lot like Monday bitchfest and WTF Wednesday all over again.

How about TMI Tuesday instead? That one was always my favorite and between kids we already have and the joy of pregnancy there's a lot to talk about.
I love this idea as well as your screen name. Start this thread next Tuesday, please!

For those using a Pregnology ticker, how did you enter a 2017 due date? When I try, the drop down doesn't go past 2016. I really love these tickers and used one with DD#1, I'm hoping I can get it to work!

UPDATE: I figured it out. If anyone else is trying to get one, just put your due date in with 2016 and then manually change the dates in the code.

"Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?...But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own." Matthew 6:26-27&33-34

I'm new here and not sure if you've figured it out yet, but I messed around with it yesterday and someone posted in a different board about how to get the ticker to work. You have to copy the link they give you, go to your preferences, click on signature preferences, then click on the </> and paste the link in there. Once you've saved it, it should show up! Hope that helps!
