@sbrown721. Please note that my comment towards my friend has nothing to do with your choice. I applaud you for wanting a home birth and honestly hope everything goes smoothly and you don't end up in the hospital. A home birth is something that I personally would not want because I tend to focus too much on the "what if something goes wrong?" I believe that everyone should have the birth experience they want and it is not up to anyone else to comment or have an opinion on it.
I think all comments made about home birth on this board have been appropriate Just wanted to put in my 2 cents and express how meaningful it can be for many families
I'm not against an induction for other people. I just don't plan one for myself unless medically needed. I don't feel like my discomfort is bad enough to want one. But I do think there are plenty of good reasons to get one.
@PoodleDoodleOoo Re: the home birth thing. I am so with you. I would never judge someone else for having a home birth, but it's totally not for me. There is evidence to show you will birth/progress best in an environment where you are most comfortable. For some people, that is their home. For me, that is a hospital. "Labouring at home for as long as possible" totally freaks me out and I can't wait to just get to the hospital so I can feel safe. I would likely have a terrible birth experience birthing at home, whereas someone else would have a great experience. I wouldn't get along with your friend... Lol
@yellowrose314 I just threw up in my mouth a little bit... Why can't people JUST BE CLEAN?! Don't they know there are preggos around with super sonic smell senses?

This exactly. I don't think discomfort is a good reason. I will, however, be induced if I make it to 37 weeks because identical twins. The risk of still birth rises considerably after 37 in our situation, so induce we will. I would love to go to 40 weeks and into labor naturally, it's just not in the cards this time.
I just realized that I can order stockings with our names on them now! I wanted to when DD1 was born but decided to wait just in case I couldn't find the same ones when the next/last baby came. Now I can order them!!
This is my struggle these days. We have hand knit stockings for myself, husband, dd1, ds1 and dd2. Well, the girl whose mom made them for me is no longer on good terms with me (my work fired her) so I can't get one. I'll have to get it made and deal with the fact that they won't be the same
Captain's Last Log, Day 3 16:17: She is HERE!!! Ok so my birthing experience didn't quite go as planned. After getting to 8 centimeters and a little more laboring we were ready to push! Even though she was supposed to be a small baby, she was turned sideway which make it difficult for her to come out. AFTER3HOURSof pushing(!!!) she was not going to come out. With 24 hours of labor and 3 hours on pushing I just couldn't do it anymore and we ended up have a c/s. Alice arrived on 8/25 at 7:14am 6ibs and 18 inches!! We are so in LOVE!!!!

Congrats @seitzy3 , enjoy all those baby snuggles. And congrats on passing your exam @yellowrose314 ! I work with a few LPNs who are currently back in school for their RN as our hospital has made it mandatory to have your RN. I know how hard they are working in school so I'm sure your glad to be done done with the test! Relax and enjoy the rest of your pregnancy :-)
I respect the home birth thing, but totally not my style. I'm perfectly content having people responsible to take care of me at the hospital both before and after birth, changing sheets, getting whatever I need, etc. I know people are there to help you with home births but that's mostly before, not after. Plus, when people come to see the baby I don't feel like I have to entertain. I feel like if it were my house I'd have to be prepared for guests.
In regards to inductions I don't want one. I too fear the pain of pitocin contractions and I was able to birth my first without meds. I'd like to again, if possible!
@Themaritimemama Have you thought about commissioning one from a different knitter? You could show them the ones you have and get your LO's made to match.
@kosmo86 she is adorable, congratulations! I hope you continue to recover well
I don't care how others choose their birth experience and I don't think that many people do. I think the point that was being made was how annoying it is to have other people not respect what one chooses and feel like it's their place to try to change your mind to what they think. I think home births are totally fine for whoever chooses them, just like "give me all the epidural as soon as I check in" is fine for others. I'm hoping to do hypnobirthing but I'm not opposed to changing my mind or any other medically necessary intervention once I'm there. It bothers me when people knock things like hypnobirthing or epidurals though, I'm like, your pain tolerance and way of viewing things is different than mine so let me figure out what works for me on my own.
Everyone stay tuned for my mid-october birth story. 38 week appointment, 1 cm, he is still floating, not engaged!! Ob and nurse said I'm the happiest, healthiest pregnant person they've ever seen. Yay me?
@kosmo86 congrats! Welcome baby Alice she's perfect
ava is taking her first nap since being born this morning. She has been on the boob alllllll day. The girls just left and my heart just exploded seeing them both so loving to their tiny sister. D cried so much when it was time to go because she wanted to bring Ava home. Ava is the spitting image of Deklyn when she was born. It's crazy!
thanks for all your support ladies I will post a birth story soon. It may have been fast but it was fierce
