@VeraMali, between the family drama and having our c-sections the same day, I am claiming you as my online labor buddy. How is it that grown ass adults can't put their own feelings aside and realize that THE ONE GIVING BIRTH is the only one who matters right now? I would shut that sh*t down real quick if my dad tried to pull some drama today. Remember your feelings are the ones that matter now, and everyone else can get the f*ck over it.
I can't remember the sns, but congratulations on the beautiful babies, ladies! I'm glad that after some of you had some dramatic situations everyone is doing well!
@VeraMali I sincerely hope that your brother puts your dad in his place in a way that cuts down the drama!
@TheTamedShrew I am hoping that in your case they just felt that it was more an update and they didn't need to reply- not that they don't care
Let's get it together, extended families!
@camichael84 I hope you had over-all an excellent birthday yesterday!
@seitzy3 good luck, I hope everything is going well right now!
@AnnaS930 oh yeah, that whole season is def a mess. Im surprised Jenelle got to this point before Leah actually. And I completely forgot you had said there was 2 hours of OG, Im taking a cue and watching that over the next few days (with gelato if I can get to the store)!
@TheTamedShrew your post cracked me up a little & I needed that! I'll be happy to claim you as my online labor buddy as well even though technically neither of us are going into labor You are right though, our families can just suck it if they can't get their sh!t together. We both get to meet our babies tomorrow and that's what matters. Good luck to you with your surgery tomorrow, I can't wait to see your announcement pop up on the board and I can't wait to be able to show off mine lol!
@rock1cherry, @MrsVoorhees, @RedMar - Thanks ladies. Thanks goodness it's done and over with. Of course now I'm starting to feel the pain. I would almost rather the pain from the c-section than this crap!! The beautiful part was it took him about two minutes to pull the tooth and everything came out at once, so no digging for roots. When. He said "Done", my exact words were "Nuh uh!!" (I chose to forgo being put under and just got nitrous). I (for the second time) told him that I wanted to kiss him (the first time being when he told me a month ago that it wasn't as much of an emergency as originally thought and he wanted to wait until after I gave birth). What the hell is it with me?!?! I basically proposed to my OB while I was still loopy after my c-section too!
ETA - I'm so sorry @VeraMali. 100% NOT the time for your dad ro be butt hurt over this. And to put you in the middle? I hope things get better hun!
Also just wanted to say at everyone who posted thanks for the support and letting me vent. My husband is annoyed with the whole situation but he's stressed enough over me having surgery again (which really freaks him out) so I didn't want to put more stress on him letting him know just how upset I was. Y'all are great!
@VeraMali We're with you girl! Sorry you're dealing with unnecessary drama before such a BIG day in your life!
@Unwritten12 Glad to hear it's over and went well. You're one tough cookie for going through that so soon post partum!
Random - Shopkins are really big in our house right now. DD LOVES them and we've been using them as pooping incentives (for every poop on the potty, she gets a sticker and for every five stickers she gets a Shopkin). She got a couple of Shopkins books for her birthday and then even found a Shopkins backpack for preschool this year. This kid is allllll about her Shopkins. Well, last night I took it to a whole new level. I was dealing with some major pregsomnia and when I finally fell asleep, I dreamt about Shopkins! In my dream, thinking about the Shopkins (in a counting sheep sort of way) is what helped me fall and stay asleep - like I "owed" it to the Shopkins. I was sharing this technique with all of you and it was working for everyone! I even shared with DH (in my dream) and him thinking about Shopkins somehow cured his awful snoring - so we were BOTH able to get some sleep!
@AshleyB09042015 Congratulations she is absolutely gorgeous and I'm so glad you're both doing better after that little scare for the both of you! Sending healing calming thoughts your way mama
@seitzy3 You're almost there! So excited for you to meet your squish
@VeraMali I'm sorry to hear your dad and stepmom are being so selfish, what a way to interrupt a pedicure! That is sacred time!! I would just stay out of it, it was very selfish of them to put you in the middle like that. Try and stay focused on that you get to meet your little one in a few days and their issues are their issues.
GUYS I PASSED MY EXAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Can you tell I'm totally pumped/relieved/hysterical about it?! Ugh, so much stress has been lifted, it's insane. I can nest and organize and relax and have 3 naps a day and not feel guilty about it. But, most importantly, I can now officially say I am a Registered Nurse That in and of itself to me means more than anything, because I have been working for this for SO long. I first became a licensed practical nurse (not sure of the US equivalent) 5 years ago, and have been working toward the goal of becoming an RN since then. So glad the studying is over... at least until I decided to do my Masters
Random: I have my 37 week appt this afternoon. I'm daydreaming that my OB looks at me and is all "honey you are way too pregnant to deal with work shiz. I'm just gonna take you out of work now so you can relax and not worry about stupid stuff for the next three weeks while baby bakes."
I can't remember everyone I want to tag but congrats to everyone with beautiful new babies! I'm getting serious baby envy knowing I still potentially have 4 weeks left.
Good luck to everyone having their little ones soon! Hopefully everything goes smoothly!
@yellowrose314 congratulations on passing your NCLEX. That is such an amazing feeling to be done with that hellish exam and officially an RN!
@VeraMali that's incredibly selfish of your dad to be putting more stress on you right before your c-section. I hope your brother at least made him understand that he isn't up here playing favorites but here to help you guys out. You're way nicer than me at this point because I probably would have made some snide comment about how if dad and stepmom were more helpful and involved maybe brother would have more time to see them as well.
@UnwritteN12 I'm glad your procedure went well. I avoid the dentist as long as possibly because it gives me so much anxiety and I just hate it there!

Umm, my OB basically said exactly that at my 37 week appointment last week but I turned her down because I still had a lot I wanted to tie up and because it would be less time once baby actually arrives... so if that's really what you're hoping for, it's probably a good possibility they'd do it. Mine was because my ankles were swollen, haha.
ETA: Lots to tie up, not because i'm a super dedicated employee, more because I have don't shiz in the past 3+ months (ok ok, 9 months) and I need to do a lot to hide that before I go!
@VeraMali how incredibly annoying. My H mom is like this. His brother bought a new, beautiful home, and his mom got mad because she thought he should GIVE her his old house. She wasn't even happy for him and his family.
I just realized that I can order stockings with our names on them now! I wanted to when DD1 was born but decided to wait just in case I couldn't find the same ones when the next/last baby came. Now I can order them!!
Sorry to interrupt your regular randoms, but I need to AW a bit. Just got our staff photos back for work and of course mine had to include my favorite work buddy. (also, sorry it's so huge! i can't figure out how to resize )
Question : Is anyone opposed to being induced? And if so, why? There is a lady at my job who is opposed to them dramatically talking about how your body obviously isn't ready and it greatly raises the odds of having to have a csection.
I'm jw if anyone feels like that here. Obviously this would only be someone who doesn't have a medical reason to have an induction (baby size, GD, pre e, etc) and also doesn't feel like they are dying/ on medical bed rest.
@ansley0319 I generally agree with your coworker, although I haven't done specific research on the risks. I wouldn't judge another mom for doing what she feels is right for her and her baby, but personally, I wouldn't consider an induction for any reason other than medical necessity. That said, I am open to "augmented labor", which I guess amounts to the same thing, but allows for my body to signal when it and the baby are ready. Using the techniques to restart a stalled labor feels different to me than jump-starting the whole process from scratch. Also, my feelings against it have more to do with the baby's growth than the risk of c-section, since there is strong evidence that the last few weeks of pregnancy really make a difference in brain development.
Re: August Randoms!!!
Excuse the language.
Clearly I have my priorities in order...
