  • I have 3 things to do at work today.  I *should* be done by 1.  Making mental bets with myself what day this week I will get these tasks done.

  • @PoodleDoodleOoo thanks...it was a rough one. Just the entire day. Work stress is getting to me so much lately. Normally I can handle it and move on but not yesterday! I also think my hormones are kicking into overdrive without reason. I was driving to work today and nearly started crying. For no reason. I almost cried last night because DH is out of town. This is so unlike me. Either way, I will be happy when he's back and we can hopefully relax until baby arrives. (After her nursery is done that is!) thanks again for the message. :)

Having contractions every 8-10 mins that I doubt will turn into anything but considering this is more then I had with my first I am thrilled to know what they feel like!
    Shit gets old quick!!!
Hahaha! This made me LOL. Thanks redmar
I could see that but as a person who didn't have a normal birth with the last one and he issues after gives me hope that things might actually work normal this time

  • @camichael84 An official Happy Birthday to you!  I hope you have a fantastic day!

@yellowrose314 Yay!  Your exam is over - keep us posted on the results (though I'm sure you did fine - you seem like a smart cookie!)  ;)

@UnwritteN12 I can totally understand why you're apprehensive for Monday.  I hope it all goes well and doesn't end in tears - for any of you!  And if it does, you will rally and make changes for Tuesday, then Wednesday, etc.  It won't be easy (MAD props to you, Mama) but you can do it!

@618mom22boys Amelia is beautiful!  Congratulations to you all!

  • Wow! There are a lot of mean girls on here! I don't know what some of you get out of trying to single people out and make a public forum some kind of exclusive "you can't sit with us" thing, but it makes me sad for you. For everyone's information I have been on this board from the very beginning. Due to the fact that I have suffered a heartbreaking loss in the past, I have opted to sit back and participate selectively throughout the months. I have read your stories, liked your posts and joined in when I felt compelled. I find that this board is full of people who basically echo the exact same sentiments as the posters before them, and I have often not wanted to add on to the repetitive nature of many of those posts. I have celebrated your births and empathized with your frustrations. I never would have thought my initiating a HDBD post would be taken the way it has. Super disappointing. I hope you will teach your children to be more inclusive to others who may be a little more shy about jumping in and sharing with a group than some of you are being. Good luck to you all. Despite the fact that some of you obviously have no interest in sharing in my story and my joy- I truly wish you all the best!
  • @PSUBecky23 Sorry for any hope I've stolen from you...  If it makes you feel any better, I have a theory - with DD, my original due date was 9/15.  It was changed to 9/20 after my growth ultrasound.  She was born on 9/12 at 38w6d (per the 9/20 due date).  BUT if 9/15 was truly the more accurate due date and she was just a peanut...that would have put her at 39w4d at birth...meaning this baby could still come "sooner" than she did as long as he/she is born before next Monday.  Haha.  It's all irrelevant at this point - but if it gives you some hope back, let's go with that version of the story!  ;)

I was in no way trying to diss your statement about your contractions. Just the bluntness of @redmar 's statement cracked me up. I wasn't trying to be rude. I'm sorry.

  • Sitting in the conference center at work waiting out a tornado warning. Oh what fun!

  • @marajay6 Oh, bummer!  I hope it turns out to be nothing, and you get to get out of there soon.

  • @jabreen - I don't think there is much threat where I am but they have to make us shelter. I just feel for the people at daycare - it can't be fun sheltering with a bunch of toddlers. Last time there was a warning we asked them what they do. Each class has an assigned storage closet or bathroom they shelter in. The teachers usually grab a box of cookies or crackers and they give the kids snacks and read to them to keep them calm.

  • @marajay6 Glad it's likely nothing.  That's how ours usually go, too, which is good in that we're over-prepared, but it always seems like the room that's most secure is also the one with the least air conditioning...  I can't imagine how the teachers of littles do it!  I had enough trouble with my 16-18 year old students, and at least they all had phones!
