@Hopeful_mom The amount of follicles you have seems pretty standard (give or take a few) with someone who has a low AMH. I only ended up with 4 decent follicles after my stims.

Technically I believe i have 8:6 when the dr first checked me so I was thinking HOPING that at least each follie would WILL produce an egg....I just know how much I need this as we all do. After IUI we have somewhere to go IVF we dont so I think its making me panic a bit more. thanks for the feed back!!!

@Stars2016 I am so terribly sorry. It's the worst feeling ever and it's hard to come by for a bit. Did you do chromosome testing? If not I think you should for next round. I haven't seen or heard anyone not get a BFP after a transfered tested embryo. Sending you hugs!

@kp214 thank u!! i try not to over think things BUT you do start to wonder WTH, is this not meant to be. Every time I think we're getting closer something always gets in the way. Its all overwhelming especially doing it on ur own. I'm giving myself all the shot and it actually hurts, doing the iui u just did one. I know i sound like a baby but ouch!! I don't like needles too u should know! is this your first?

@Hopeful_mom this will be my 3rd ivf. I know it's tough. The shots aren't pleasant. The first time I was bruised at ER. The doctor commented on how bruised I was. I guess I wasn't very good at giving them. The second time was better. I found that spreading them out a little more caused less bruising for me and also changing how I gave the menopur injection. Hang in there. Your DH will be better soon, and you will be finished with shots soon as well. Good luck!

I had a sono something to make sure I have no blockage for transfer so at least that is promising as it seems all clear. Since I saw my dr. So far 2 are growing with potential of 4. I think she said only one is on the right, which I can't understand why it's still sleeping and 3 or 4 on the left. The other smaller one on the left they saw the day before seems to not be catching up. To go through all this and really not have a good amount to retrieve is scary. I'm only on day 5 so can I still have hope or will this be about it??
I dont int want to cancel this cycle and my dr still wants to see how I progress on. Don't understand why everything can't just align already!

@Hopeful_mom so I had 5 taken out and only one was good with chromosome testing. I know people that have had 9 taken out and only 1 be good. This is why you have to keep reminding yourself it's quality over quantity. I know what it's like to get so little, believe me. But try to stay positive. And wait till day 10 to really see what you have. It's going to be all worth it I promise!!
AFM, went in for bloodwork and US and it's coming along nicely. I'm at 1 week and I'm measuring 5.2 for lining. They are going to up my dose from 1mg x2 a day to 2mg x2 a day. I go back on Monday. They might schedule for sept 6th!! I'm leaving for Canada in the morning for our cousins wedding so we won't be back till Sunday night which means no cell service so if anyone has questions or whatever it'll have to wait lol. @LSatturo126 I know you are right! Here I thank g-d have decent follicles 6 and 8 so I guess in my head I figured I should at least get one from each. It's just all so confusing on how our bodies react. Have a WONDERFUL TIME AWAY!!! You definitely deserve it!!

@Hopeful_mom with DOR, we tend to have less eggs. You may get some of the smaller ones to catch up, though. I hate to say this, but just wait to see. I hate people saying anything to do with waiting. That's all we do when we deal with infertility. However, it sound like you are progressing; they are growing. One hurdle at a time. You can do this!

@kp214 thanks for the input i just feel so impatient already and with my OH still not well and having to worry for his child just makes all of this worse. I'm getting a better hang at the shots so at least thats better. I feel like I wasted a year just trying that if I wouldve started this process sooner I think I wouldn't be as nutty about it. I give you all the credit you've done a cycle...this is not easy and I don't think the guys gets it at all. Some think they do but mine does not!!

The men def don't understand and never will. We go through much much worse with shots, hormones and just being tired. I can say that after one loss, it def gets harder feelings wise but it makes you more determined the next time. I did retrieval four times and it finally paid off. Let's just hope they stick lol

@Hopeful_mom glad to hear you are getting the hang of the shots. Sorry that OH and his daughter aren't feeling better. I agree that some men have an inkling of what we go through while others do not. My DH says he feels extremely guilty for all that I have to go through. I've still had to remind him that I need some patience and leniency since my hormones are out of whack.

I have to share with you ladies that u really r heroes!! I feel like such a whimp! I'm through day 8 of my meds and man the menipur burns and leaves me itchy and red for quite a few hours. I even left myself bruising good thing I don't have bikinis haha!!!! i definitely feel like my hormones are out of whack and I have a headache almost everyday, this is certainly not easy! And we keep putting ourselves through it, eye on the prize!!!
im still looking at 4 maybe 5 being ready. The right side seems to have slowed done growing and yet another lil popped up, this is such a roller coaster. It's tough cause u have ur heart on getting those eggs, fertilized and transferred in, you don't prepare yourself that...that might not happen. Trying to keep the hope alive!!!

hope everyone is having a lovely weekend! I feel exhausted with all the blood work and us everyday definately doesn't let me sleep. Sitting here waiting for me last blood test to make sure I did the trigger shot right, please lord let's be sure I did! Happy to say I finally finished all my shots and meds for this cycle of ivf yay!!!! Took my trigger at 10pm last night. A little disappointed that we're only really seeing 4, hoping one or two of the smaller ones catch up! I know its quality over quantity just getting very nervous I won't have anything to transfer and this will all be for nothing. Ivf is suppose to be my saving grace so I need this to work!!! I've done my part and now I need OH to do his, unfortunately he's still not well along with his daughter so I'm really not sure what tomorrow will bring. Please pray for me and send good thoughts my way!!

Hi ladies just wanted to say hi ive been lurking but been busy trying get stuff Figured out i have all my meds ready to go picked then up friday im a planner hate waiting for the last minute im on bcp now i got 2 more weeks to go my ivf nurse is working on my calandar so i should get that soon i started accupunuure im going once a week for at least 6 treatments i liked it helped me relax and zone out how is everyone what part of the process is everyone at?

Oh my. I'm so very sorry. But why not do a frozen sample? If you bring them a sample in the AM they can wash etc and keep frozen and the day of they can use his deposit. If not then it's just not meant to be this round. Maybe next round you'll have more follicles too. Hope your stepdaughter gets well soon.

@LSatturo126@capps42613 i am officially out this month. All of the pain, aggrevation and money all a waste. Didn't have the procedure this morning as my oh was uncooperative. I'm beyond angry, and just don't understand why this keeps happening to us. At this moment I don't even want to use he's sample anymore I'm just so beyond hurt and angry!!! I tried for month to get to freeze samples as something horrible keeps happening the day he's needed. Missed IUI now this. I'm very frustrated. I was still going to retrieve and freeze but even dr wasn't sold in the idea to freeze and then thaw to fertilize later she really didn't think I would have any left. I've cried all morning it doesn't make me feel any better. I did everything right and the one thing he has to do he doesn't. His daughter is sick and was having surgery so I do get it BUT he also knew this was going on and needed. This does physically and emotionally drain u, he has been living at the hospital so he doesn't even get everything I've been through. He's a great father and right now that's about it.

@Hopeful_mom that's really tough. I'm sorry. It is frustrating. I agree with @LSatturo126. If he didn't want to have a frozen sample, there may be something else going on. Hopefully, when everything calms down, you two can talk about this. Hugs.

thanks for the input ladies, I appreciated this thread the first time I found it! Thanks for taking the time to read and respond, I do appreciate it!! He has concerns with ivf and feels that it's not natural and wants everything to be fresh, as that's what the Drs prefer as well. It's just hard as I don't want and can't afford to waste any time. Each month that passes I feel makes the odds less and less. He's daughter is really sick and won't be going home anytime soon, but I still am not putting another cycle on hold. I knew after my sono that everything looked great for a transfer that something else would go wrong and it did. Wish I could be so on the money with picking lotto numbers!' My stomach is killing me who knows what's going on there, feels like I have such pressure. I still don't know if I made the right decision not just freezing what I have but the process just didn't sound processing for the few I have to survive being frozen without being fertilized. It's so hard going through this thinking its for nothing. I kno eye on the prize but today it doesn't feel that way.

@Hopeful_mom I don't think freezing sperm for the time being is a bad thing. Couples do that all the time when husbands have to travel. Also look at same sex couples. Woman have to get their sperm from somewhere and it's def not fresh lol. @twomommiestobe do you think you can give some advice to her about frozen sperm? Maybe you and your spouse can speak to another doctor and get a second opinion. He sounds scared in general and I just hope he's not putting you through all this for nothing. What woman have to do is so very hard and hurtful in more ways than one and it wouldn't be right for him to string you along. Hoping things start looking up for you. Xoxo

It continues to be a rocky road but the twins are moving along. They are both finally in the three pound range. Katey came off of CPAP and is now on 2L nasal cannula. It's so much better. I can actually see her face and head without the CPAP. She has so much hair!! Poor Jackson is still on the CPAP though. I have to wait longer to see his cute face. We were informed that both of the twins have a heart murmur and they were diagnosed with a moderate to large sized PDA (patent ductus arteriosus), which is basically a hole in the heart that usually closes before birth. In preemies it often does not close. For now the plan is medical management. They're both anemic, so they have received blood transfusions to help with all of this. The doctor has said from experience, moderate to large sized PDA usually need surgery to close but there is still the chance it will close on own. So we will hope for the best.

@wenikilina i just want to tell you my niece was born 3 month early and she weighted 2pounds and also had the hile in her heart and she didnt have to have surgery and the hole eventually osed as she got older she is in 2nd grwde now and they monitoried her she is great now it will be ok

We asked if using frozen sperm would hurt our chances and were told they would be the same or better because the "weaker" sperm wouldn't survive the thawing process.
We were required to do icsi bc we used a frozen sample. But again, that increases the fertilization chances.

@Hopeful_mom Any update on how your follicles developed. Today is what, day 12? are you still stimming or have you gone in for retrieval. Just keep hope... I only got 6 follicles and of the 6 only 3 made it day 5 and were frozen. Praying and hoping all is well.

Unfortunately in the end i was ready for retrieval and everything looked great but i didnt have any sample to go with it. OH was with his sick daughter in the hospital and we couldn't get it together, i could he obviously was the issue. Trying to move past it but its not easy!!

I try to explain certain things but men like to be stubborn and of course think they know whats best. My re was hoping we would get 10 eggs and then do half natural and half icsi, i'm a lil nervous with doing icsi as i hear sometimes the egg can get ruined that way too. With only producing 4 mature ones made the decision of what to do that much tougher. Thanks for the info. I will definitely need to add that in. I did make mention that we need to have a frozen sample before i start meds again, I can't keep going through this roller coaster ride for nothing.

Technically I believe i have 8:6 when the dr first checked me so I was thinking HOPING that at least each follie would WILL produce an egg....I just know how much I need this as we all do. After IUI we have somewhere to go IVF we dont so I think its making me panic a bit more. thanks for the feed back!!!

I had a sono something to make sure I have no blockage for transfer so at least that is promising as it seems all clear. Since I saw my dr. So far 2 are growing with potential of 4. I think she said only one is on the right, which I can't understand why it's still sleeping and 3 or 4 on the left. The other smaller one on the left they saw the day before seems to not be catching up. To go through all this and really not have a good amount to retrieve is scary. I'm only on day 5 so can I still have hope or will this be about it??
I dont int want to cancel this cycle and my dr still wants to see how I progress on. Don't understand why everything can't just align already!

AFM, went in for bloodwork and US and it's coming along nicely. I'm at 1 week and I'm measuring 5.2 for lining. They are going to up my dose from 1mg x2 a day to 2mg x2 a day. I go back on Monday. They might schedule for sept 6th!!

I'm getting a better hang at the shots so at least thats better. I feel like I wasted a year just trying that if I wouldve started this process sooner I think I wouldn't be as nutty about it. i definitely feel like my hormones are out of whack and I have a headache almost everyday, this is certainly not easy! And we keep putting ourselves through it, eye on the prize!!!
im still looking at 4 maybe 5 being ready. The right side seems to have slowed done growing and yet another lil popped up, this is such a roller coaster. It's tough cause u have ur heart on getting those eggs, fertilized and transferred in, you don't prepare yourself that...that might not happen. Trying to keep the hope alive!!!

hope everyone is having a lovely weekend! I feel exhausted with all the blood work and us everyday definately doesn't let me sleep. Sitting here waiting for me last blood test to make sure I did the trigger shot right, please lord let's be sure I did!
Happy to say I finally finished all my shots and meds for this cycle of ivf yay!!!! Took my trigger at 10pm last night.
A little disappointed that we're only really seeing 4, hoping one or two of the smaller ones catch up! I know its quality over quantity just getting very nervous I won't have anything to transfer and this will all be for nothing. Ivf is suppose to be my saving grace so I need this to work!!!
I've done my part and now I need OH to do his, unfortunately he's still not well along with his daughter so I'm really not sure what tomorrow will bring. Please pray for me and send good thoughts my way!!

i am officially out this month. All of the pain, aggrevation and money all a waste. Didn't have the procedure this morning as my oh was uncooperative. I'm beyond angry, and just don't understand why this keeps happening to us. At this moment I don't even want to use he's sample anymore I'm just so beyond hurt and angry!!! I tried for month to get to freeze samples as something horrible keeps happening the day he's needed. Missed IUI now this. I'm very frustrated. I was still going to retrieve and freeze but even dr wasn't sold in the idea to freeze and then thaw to fertilize later she really didn't think I would have any left. I've cried all morning it doesn't make me feel any better. I did everything right and the one thing he has to do he doesn't.
His daughter is sick and was having surgery so I do get it BUT he also knew this was going on and needed.
This does physically and emotionally drain u, he has been living at the hospital so he doesn't even get everything I've been through. He's a great father and right now that's about it.

He has concerns with ivf and feels that it's not natural and wants everything to be fresh, as that's what the Drs prefer as well. It's just hard as I don't want and can't afford to waste any time. Each month that passes I feel makes the odds less and less. He's daughter is really sick and won't be going home anytime soon, but I still am not putting another cycle on hold. I knew after my sono that everything looked great for a transfer that something else would go wrong and it did. Wish I could be so on the money with picking lotto numbers!' My stomach is killing me who knows what's going on there, feels like I have such pressure. I still don't know if I made the right decision not just freezing what I have but the process just didn't sound processing for the few I have to survive being frozen without being fertilized. It's so hard going through this thinking its for nothing. I kno eye on the prize but today it doesn't feel that way.

We were informed that both of the twins have a heart murmur and they were diagnosed with a moderate to large sized PDA (patent ductus arteriosus), which is basically a hole in the heart that usually closes before birth. In preemies it often does not close. For now the plan is medical management. They're both anemic, so they have received blood transfusions to help with all of this. The doctor has said from experience, moderate to large sized PDA usually need surgery to close but there is still the chance it will close on own. So we will hope for the best.

We were required to do icsi bc we used a frozen sample. But again, that increases the fertilization chances.

@ShayLatrice thank you so much for asking, i actually got to day 10 still with 4 really mature, and its bad cause the last 2 days i thought taking a lil extra gonal F might help the others catch up...yes i think i'm a dr now too. Unfortunately in the end i was ready for retrieval and everything looked great but i didnt have any sample to go with it. OH was with his sick daughter in the hospital and we couldn't get it together, i could he obviously was the issue. Trying to move past it but its not easy!!
@LSatturo126 awe yay!!! such great news, its really amazing how fast the time goes, excited your time is finally here, praying everything goes smoothly for you!! Thanks for the input!! Trust me i hear everything you're saying loud and clear!! His kids comes first always will...which i do get look how hard i'm trying to have one BUT the whole way he went about this is upsetting. He thinks he knows everything and is concerned about having a healthy child etc.
@twomommiestobe Hope your feeling better, you're finally counting down to singal digits in weeks, how exciting!!! thanks for the info. makes complete sense! I try to explain certain things but men like to be stubborn and of course think they know whats best. My re was hoping we would get 10 eggs and then do half natural and half icsi, i'm a lil nervous with doing icsi as i hear sometimes the egg can get ruined that way too. With only producing 4 mature ones made the decision of what to do that much tougher. Thanks for the info. I will definitely need to add that in. I did make mention that we need to have a frozen sample before i start meds again, I can't keep going through this roller coaster ride for nothing.
I literally have one friends that knows i'm trying thats it, and its because she has been on the ivf train AND she just had her second lil bean, first a boy and now a girl. And all she keeps telling me is how once they arrive you will forget this whole part. I can't wait for that!!!
