  • Tomorrow is my due date. No sign of labor. Sigh.

on the bright side I get some more quality time with DD...
I feel you. I was all sentimental last weekend thinking it was our last weekend as a family of three (I was due 8/17). Welp, here we are with another weekend just the three of us. DH just took DS to get donuts since I was up with him on my own for 3 hours before DH got out of bed. (I hope DH realizes these weekends where I let him sleep in are quickly coming to an end!)

What did you decide to do about your induction decision?

  • I just watched Jorgansen cross the finish line to win the triathlon... and cue the waterworks. I don't care about the triathlon.  And I'd never heard of the woman before. But watching her work so hard and seeing her break down as she crossed the line really pulled at the prgnancy hormones. Good grief.
  • I don't know what it was but DH & I are completely exhausted from last night. Since when did dinner and a movie take that much energy out of us?

Friends just came over with lunch. I am not sure how I'm going to be alert for the next hr or two. Zzzzzz...

I only care because she's from my hometown! So my FB feed is blowing up. I didn't even watch it.  :#

  • @tisunge602 I haven't yet!!! Leaning towards making the call Monday and scheduling Wednesday.

I watched with DS1 and he wanted to know why she was so sad. I tried to explain about working hard to achieve something and tears of joy. I'm thinking 3 is a little young to grasp those concepts :)

The same thing happened to me after watching Andy Murray win the gold. It was such a long match and watching him break down at the end really got to me! I'm not really into the Olympics, but it is incredible to think about how much work goes into it all for these athletes.

  • I can't believe my little guy is already 2 weeks old. I waited so long for him to be here and now time is flying by  :s
I know! Levi is 4 weeks today and I can't believe how fast it's going already! But I am looking forward to the next month... it should get easier. I just want my baby to stay tiny!!
  • I can't believe little guy is 10 days old already. I was pretty sick for most of it, but I feel like it flew by...

  • @alikay20 Your friends not leaving may not realize you are both modest, and breast feeding. I had friends over Sunday I was home, and fed the baby in the middle of everyone. I waited until my grandfather left, more because I think HE would be uncomfortable than me.
I wouldn't think it is rude to give those friends a less subtle hint. "Thanks for stopping by, but we are exhausted and I need to feed the baby..."

Yeah, I eventually did say something along the lines of, "well, thanks for coming over but I really need to feed her now!" Seems to work so far :)
  • @AliKay20 It bugs me when people act agitated about having to wash their hands. Also the other day MIL came over and she didn't bring food, only held LO for like 5 minutes(when she was here for 2 hours), and sat on the couch and watched DH and I straighten up the house.

Of course she isn't obligated to bring anything but as DHs mom you would think she would've been considerate and brought us dinner. DH went back to work Friday so I don't think we have to worry about her coming back for a while but I was super annoyed by the time she left.
  • My MIL (who I love and adore) came over for 8 straight days once we got home. Now, she brought  food almost every time, which was nice. But she still stayed for 1-3 hrs each time.  She would also get upset if DS was sleeping and I wouldn't get him up.

  • I wish someone would come over. The first week we had visitors, all of which didn't stay long, so that was nice. But now 4 weeks pp, and I would love for someone to oome over and hold baby so I can clean or shower or nap! He's been so cranky lately and cries every time I put him down for half the day, it's hard to do anything.
And I'm lonely. Being home with kids and baby all day is tiring and lonely. I want a grown up to talk to. I think I need more real life friends. ..
  • @msdidonato I did try to see friends this weekend but they were busy. I got out and went to a friend's house last week for a couple hours, and even though I had to take baby I felt so much better. I decided I'm definitely starting bottles this week, and dh and I are going to try for a date night this weekend. I figure bottles should be ok now. I tried to use a shield a couple nights ago and Levi didn't know what to do with it.
  • Just catching up now. I would love a fb group sometime soon too. I think I will be able
to keep up better than with the app. I miss y'all but am not great at one handed phone use yet.... Might get a loopy case so I don't drop phone on Hayes' head!!

We have been super selfish with our time this go round. Only have let a few people visit. I think we will see more soon, but I love the friends that just get it. My in laws have been here and my father in law does not get it. Every feeding has me in my bedroom with Hayes alone. DH sits with me a lot but you would think eventually FIL would catch on. Nope.

  • @LWC1112 yeah I'm not good at one handed bumping either. I can look fine but I'm way too lazy to try and type one handed. Plus I'm normally holding my phone in my left hand which makes it even harder.

This!! My mom and stepdad drive trucks, they came home for the birth...a few days before my due date, and since I went past they were only here for a couple days after she was home and won't be home again for at least six weeks. I have a sister but she's pretty far away, and my grandparents but they don't drive much. I did pack the kids up and go sit at their house tuesday. Soccer practices save me, even if I'm the only parent it's something to do and leave the house. With DD1 I'd go walk around a store if I needed to get out, years of retail have made that the very last thing I want to do now.

  • Someone shared this blog on Facebook and it is the epitome of how I am currently feeling. I think some of you will probably be able to relate as well.

  • We were discharged Friday, which was also my birthday. MIL came over after work and drove me crazy. She came over and gave me a birthday card when A started crying so I didn't open it. She went and bitched to DH. Then was like ok, I'm going to Subway all pissy because we hadn't made dinner yet. So DH makes some tuna since I've been so hungry for it. We made salad too and she came in to ask me how mug to make because DH "was only making tuna and a salad" as if we should have made more. We eat our tuna pretty rare and DH made one steak more done for my mom and his. MIL bitched about how done it was even though she took some of our steak. DH offered to put it on the grill longer, but it was more fun to complain the whole night. I have never been so close to kicking her out of our house. Not only did you not offer to bring anything over and had DH cook for you, but you complained about it the whole time. We literally just got out of the hospital and we're going on like 3 hours of sleep.
  • @ginger819 I would shut that shit down and tell them you aren't hosting them. I'm annoyed for you.

@ginger819, That's just insane. Not ok. She can either get a grip or leave. Hope things get easier for you.

    Thanks for sharing!

  • @ginger819 We were discharged Friday too... and it was also My birthday!  MIL's are such a pain in the A$$! I'm sorry you had to deal with that on what should have been a special day with hubby and your new LO! Happy Birthday!
  • Yes all of that is how I feel. I crave intimacy with my husband but have no idea when I won't be too tired for it. This just really matches my emotions Thank you @lynnlove28

  • @ShanRum3 That's awesome. Happy Birthday to you too!
  • Sitting here waiting for my BPP ultrasound and the only thing I can think is that I really hope they don't tell me baby is a boy. I mean, we'd love another boy, but he's going to be wearing a lot of pink.
