  • @NoraAurora  We did Verifi by Progenity too and it also got all screwed up ... I don't know if this is the case for you, but the fault was definitely on Progenity for it.  I knew my insurance wouldn't cover it, I spoke to a representative ahead of time and she assured me that they can negotiate a $99 "peace of mind" fee if your insurance rejects it (so definitely call them when you get the bill and ask for that!)... except for Cigna (my insurance) which for some reason doesn't allow them to do that. So she told me to do self-pay (which I did) and I'd get the same deal.  But they accidentally billed it to my insurance anyways, which is not reversible.  My insurance requested documents from Progenity, which after many phone calls, they still never sent and my insurance finally recently denied the claim.  It says "you owe $0" so I don't know if that's true or if the bill is still coming.  My OB says she never got a bill from them when she did verifi for herself, and she also said they recently stopped using that company because another patient had an issue with them right after me.  The bill they sent my insurance was for two separate tests, one for $300 and for for $600 (even though they said $600 when I initially called them).  No idea where $15,000 is coming from!

Anyways, I've stressed out a lot about this, but at this point I'm just going to wait and see what happens.  There is no way I'm paying more than the $99 I was told it would cost.
