@MRSCORKER That was only $250? Nice! I do love ikea. My mother wanted to get me the matching dresser to my BRU crib but it was like $600. I should've told her to go to ikea. Lol

No kidding! IKEA is my jam. We got our crib from target and you'd never know they weren't a set.

@Kaessi jealous! What is that gravy biscuit behemoth thing in the background?
My H's meal - I think it was called sage fried chicken Benedict. Had spinach, bacon, mozzarella, fried chicken, & scrambled eggs on a biscuit. Covered in some kind of chipotle cream sauce. He said it was delicious!
I second the Hemnes dresser from ikea. I had one in my master bedroom and bought one for the nursery to match. Instead of a changing table I'm going to do a changing pad. And there are tons of organization tips for the Hemnes dresser on Pinterest when using it in a nursery.
@kmolleltz I wish my DH was trained in carpentry, I'd have him making me stuff constantly! Unfortunately he is the exact opposite of handy. We ended up in the emergency room the last time he used a drill because he got sawdust in his eye
I love the look of IKEA stuff, but for the reason mentioned above I'm afraid to buy any. The assembly might kill us lol
@SuperNerd42 yeah he's made a lot of our furniture himself, it's pretty nice. Though he has to use someone elses shop because he doesn't own any of his own tools.
But basically all furniture here is custom made, there is no ikea or walmart or target ect... haha
@kmolleltz According to my doctor most women don't notice them for quite a while. They don't hurt, the uterus just gets really hard. It kind of feels like you're flexing a muscle (in my experience, anyway).
@kmolleltz I haven't had any either that I can tell. I told my doctor I keep waiting on them to show up but so far nothing. She was like well you may not have them/notice them. Guess we will see what happens in the next couple of weeks!

@kmolleltz It's definitely possible to have Braxton Hicks contractions without knowing it. With my first, I had no idea until I had to do a fetal non-stress test and it showed that I was having them every three minutes. It might just feel like baby moving around in a weird position.

I second this. I've had a few NSTs and USs were they could see contractions happening but I didn't feel them. I've also had incredibly painful ones that kept me up all night, but that was just because I was dehydrated. When I drink all my water for the day, I don't few then.
I'm pretty sure I get BH all the time. They don't necessarily hurt but they're uncomfortable. I feel them mostly around my belly button, like everything tenses up and gradually releases. Sometimes it's hard to stand up straight.
With DS I remember having a few NSTs and the nurses asked me how the contractions were and I had no idea I was having them.
Same here @AllyTheKid. I'm having awful ones tonight. They're finally letting up now but they were every couple of minutes for a while and really uncomfortable. Apparently I'm special because they say it's rare for a FTM to feel them, especially early on and I've been feeling them since week 14.
@LGW2015 I am sorry, these little devils are the worst! I hope yours lay off soon. I got lucky with my first and never felt one once with her, but with LO and this baby they started around 15 weeks and just get more and more crappy.
Are "push presents" still a thing? LOL.. I keep eyeing things I want and I'm ready to drop hints! lol
I'm not going to ask or expect anything... Mostly because we already have so much to pay for, it just doesn't make sense to me. That said, I do plan to make a little bag for DH with a note to him, some snacks and things like that to help him get through it too
aww @bnsmith85, that is a wonderful idea. Now I feel selfish. I agree-- definitely not needed or expected, and you're right.. I will be on unpaid maternity leave for 12 weeks, so the last thing we need is more stuff....
I may steal your little bag of snacks and a note though! That's very sweet.
@Sprinkels28 ... That wasn't my intent, to make you feel bad, at all! I always thought I would want one but reality is just so much different than my fantasy. lol
@bnsmith85, I know it wasn't your intent! I agree our fantasy wants are a lot different than reality. In my fantasy I would get another anniversary band
@Sprinkels28 They seem to be a thing in our circle of friends. Most of my friends have gotten some kind of jewelry to commemorate the baby's birth, like initial charms or ring with the birthstone. I'm getting a Tahoe after the baby is born, so I guess that's gonna be mine (not too shabby, but we would be getting it regardless).

@Sprinkels28 Don't feel bad, I kind of hinted at a push present at one point. I always like the idea of presents, then I remember that I hate spending money on myself. Lol
I was planning on buying DH's diaper bag for him, but I'm second guessing that now. First of all, nobody marks what they buy it seems, so how do I know someone didn't already get it? Secondly, what do I put in it? Baby stuff? Stuff for him? Idk what he would want.... And lastly, I don't know how often he'll actually be alone with the baby. I know he wants the bag and he's hoping to have alllll this time with the baby, I'm just not sure how realistic that is. I don't want to spend the money on a bag we'll never use.... Grrrr. Decisions decisions.
@krzyriver - if no one gifts it to you and it's in the budget, I think you should get it! You could make it into a labor survival kit for dad or, if you're going to have a c section, you could make something for after baby's here... Stuff like cigars, his favorite beer, coffee, Advil... Maybe some new slippers or something if he'll wear them (since you'll be up a lot at night). I bet that, plus a thank you in advance for your support type note would mean a lot to him
I'm with @bnsmith85, we have a lot of financial obligations right now so outside of like an edible arrangement (always pushing for one of those), I'm not looking for a push gift. With that being said, I think a push gift is a gift well earned and I certainly wouldn't turn my nose up at one!
@bnsmith85 Aw, I love those ideas. I'm so bad at shopping for people, but he would love that kind of stuff. You've sold me on it. If no one gets it for him, I will.
@NicholeL16 Edible arrangements are SO good. DH got me one a few months ago just because. Only downside, he got the smallest size and we still couldn't finish it all before it went bad. And it was about a $100 I think...
I love giving gifts, so I've thought about doing a new dad survival kit, but I may not- his birthday is in November, so I may not want to spend the money twice. I'm guessing I won't get anything when he's born- my husband is clueless to those kinds of things- but I'm hoping for a moms ring or something for Christmas.
Just got home from Santa Barbara this weekend. Took the train up with my girlfriends and that basically killed my back. I was so uncomfortable!
Did pool time Saturday and while the girls went walking around town and wine tasting, I slipped away to a prenatal massage appointment. It was heaven.
It was such a lovely weekend spending time with my girlfriends, but I definitely felt a little out of place not being able to drink, not being able to exert much energy and on the shallow side of things, just not being able to look cute and Sexy in a tiny dress and heels. I'm ready for my old body back!
On the upside, DH had a work trip to San Francisco on Friday, so he decided to go solo camping on Friday night and Saturday night driving down the ca-1 coast. Then stopping to pick me up in Santa Barbara this morning at the hotel. All the girls had already left, so DH and I had really awesome catch up hotel sex.
Lastly, I got a sneak peek of my maternity photos. I'm still unsure how I feel about them. I wish I didn't wear the crown of flowers. It's just that the photographer brought it with her and I felt bad saying no!
Sorry this is long! I can't wait to see baby shower pictures from everyone that had them this weekend!
