@JennM205 I also agree that the "joke" was TERRIBLE. Not only is faking not one but two pregnancies in poor taste, but having the audacity to seek revenge for her having gone on maternity leave (causing them extra work) is extremely rude. I get that the office likes to prank each other but that was not funny and almost something that could go to HR in my opinion. Especially if her boss was in on it. I get that she won't want to do that and disrupt the "fun" work environment that they have created but I do think she should tell her boss they took it too far. What is next? How far will they go for a laugh (for themselves)?

And thanks for filling me in on the new FB group. I haven't had time to catch up on the other threads. I think I am going to hang tight here for a bit longer until the FOMO starts to sink it. I can't keep up with my regular FB at the moment so....LOL.

@JennM205 That's the crappiest joke I've ever heard of, and agree with PP's, very poor taste and I wouldn't find it at all funny. Like, who does that? Revenge prank for taking your owed and needed maternity leave? If someone did that at my job, people would be getting fired.
We FINALLY got the internet back up at our apartment!!! It took our landlords about a month to straighten it out completely, which seems totally insane but instead of just calling Optimum and letting them fix it, they wanted to wait until their college-aged daughter came home to help them, and then determine they need a new router, which took another few days to get set up with extenders and a booster. I can't. So I'm jumping right back in on the August thread- someday I will catch up on the July thread that I essentially completely missed out on, and I'm making my way through this August randoms thread too.
First of all- congrats to all the mamas who have had their babies already!!! So exciting to log on and see a birth thread, and equally terrifying to see a labor thread lol!
Still rocking out over here at 35w2d, Aiden is growing big and strong, kicking, poking, prodding, stretching and pushing the hell out of my insides- and I'm loving every moment of it, though I'm getting way more uncomfortable than before, and this heat doesn't help. It's hard to just walk from point A to point B! I've been going in my mom's pool every day as much as I can and walking and "swimming" laps around it (I say "swimming" because I really mean semi-floating while making some efforts to swim). We had our baby shower and it was overwhelming but awesome- got tons of good stuff. Making slow progress on putting things away and getting ready. We had the 8 hour birthing prep class yesterday (as opposed to one per week for 5 weeks- not possible with my work schedule), and it was awesome. Dreading work this Monday because my boss and her husband are coming in (after being on vacation- and my boss's husband isn't actually someone I report to but loves to insert himself in the workplace on occasion just long enough to remind me that he has a say in the finances of the place, question things, intimidate me, and make me want to go into labor like yesterday so I can avoid him like the plague). His latest is wanting me to prioritize my responsibilities and identify the amount of time spent each week on the most important ones. I'd love to tell him I spend 90% of my time jumping through his hoops- spending countless hours trying to gather the information he or his wife always request, or handle their last-minute projects, put out their fires, and the other 20% of my time trying desperately to catch up on my work (ya know, running the freaking museum while I'm the only one there). I have a sinking feeling he is going to tell me that I won't be getting my regular pay while I'm out, even though I'll only really be part time for a month. Other than that, everything has been great. Can't wait to be out on leave and look for another job that pays me what I was promised at this job over a year ago!
Oh and @blondie080300 - 24 hour diners are a godsend, and always can hook you up with a milkshake
On catching up- Alright I caught up to page 13 but it's about 90 degrees not counting the humidity (makes it feel like 105 here) so I'm hopping in my moms pool and will keep catching up on this thread when I get back, since I can freaking finally do that now!
@pilotswifey happy, happy birthday! Hope you enjoy the time with your son and can celebrate soon with DH.
@JennM624 agree with others in that that's a HORRIBLE joke/prank. At least they had to come clean about it so they didn't get their punch line. How do people even come up with that kind of stuff?
Welcome back @SarahDarah333 we were all hoping you'd return soon. Glad to hear your internet is up again! The biggest news you may have missed is there's now a Facebook group for Sept 16. (Aside from the births which you've mentioned!)
@JennM205 that is a terrible joke in my opinion. To make someone feel bad for taking leave is just wrong. We are all entitled to it. Even if she's ok with the joke, I just don't think that's acceptable at work and I personally wouldn't like it. No need to stress someone out who likely already has enough stress from leaving her baby to be there. Not cool.
WELCOME BACK @SarahDarah333!! This sounds so creepy but I've missed you!!! I am glad you are doing well! I think I can speak for the rest of us when I say you don't need to catch up on 74 pages of Randoms. LOL. Just jump back in and like @rock1cherry said, the biggest news is the FB group has formed (aside from adorable babies that were born that you already saw). Some of us are still debating on joining the FB group while others have jumped right in. And then there are those who don't have FB who sadly won't be joining. So decide how and when you wish to proceed with that bit of news. But welcome back!!

@JennM205 that's such a weird prank? I don't...I don't find the humor in that, it's just a really weird and insensitive thing to do.
@RG1 make sure you lock the seatbelt if you're putting it in that way. Pull the belt all the way out, then thread it, then pull it tight. That's probably why it was loose!
Yes he finally figured out how to lock it! Seems much better now edit: @jennm205 that is an awful joke
@JennM205 That is such a disgusting joke to make. I agree with what all the others said so far, trying to make someone guilty for taking maternity leave is a really shitty thing to do. But also, what the fuck? What if anyone in that office is suffering from infertility problems or had a loss? Even if was in and knew it was a joke it would of left me with a really bad taste in my mouth.

Thank you all for the birthday wishes...so my daughter was up coughing all night last night and my husband didn't help out because he was passed out from drinking too much at a 1st birthday party yesterday (ugh)...I'm really tired....things are starting to look a little better, just wish my baby could sleep, but she's coughing and sneezing too much to get any rest

I was thinking the exact same thing! Not only insensitive to my sister who was taking her well-deserved and much needed time off of work after a life-changing event...but also to anyone secretly suffering!! My biggest shock in all of this is that with the sheer number of people involved (a dozen, at least?) no one thought twice and suggested maybe a smaller, more innocent prank? I can't believe not a single person spoke up and discouraged their plan!
@noelani42@pilotswifey Happy birthday!! @SarahDarah333 Hurray! I was wondering where you went! Great to have you back I am majorly jealous you have a pool you can chill out in, enjoy that!
I just nested the shit out of my house. Take that, filth I've been just "living with"!! It still has a long way to go before I'm happy, but the kitchen is clean, the living room is clean, and I finally cleaned our gorgeous buffet that has had about 2 ft of crap piled on it for months. Proud!
I know I'm a little late but Bad Moms is FUNNY! Highly recommend it! Some raunchy/cute scenes but has a good message.
My random (symptom really) is that today was the first I've noticed my feet swelling. Can't even blame it on the heat since it was before we left the house. I hope it doesn't get as bad as it did last time. With DD I was able to push with my thumb and it would leave a finger imprint. I hope I'm not getting hypertension again.
I took a nice nap today even though I somehow slept over 8 hours last night. (For the first time in forever) I think she's growing...
When I woke up, I went through the pantry and got rid of everything that was expired or we won't eat. I cleaned each shelf and you can actually find stuff now. I've also made a list of what we need to replace what was expired (spices etc) and cleaned out the cupboard below the sink. I also did a quick clean of the oven!
Next up - the closet in our bathroom. Need to make room for baby towels, face cloths and toiletries!
I have never truly understood the whole nesting thing. I have random desires to organize, but it's never while heavily pregnant.
Nesting for me really isn't nesting, it's my usual way. I let things get to the point that I can't take it anymore, and then I clean like a mad woman. It's just been..let's say it's been a long time.
I am SURROUNDED by baby gear. Its taking over every inch of this house lol we currently have no dining room, living room and the bedroom is getting smaller and smaller. Its making me want to get everything set up even more. Less than 2 weeks till my move thank goodness
Took e up to my parents house this afternoon since they live on the lake. I think the joy of pregnant swimming is being able to pee freely while I do it. It's like peeing standing I the shower yet more glorious. Don't swim near me, yes that's a warm spot
Does anyone know where I can get 36" round latex balloons? I've looked online and the only thing I've seen is etsy, oriental trading, or Walmart (all online purchasing and I need them for our maternity pics this week). Party City anyone?
@mom2adoodle, you can do it with the pumping! I have seen a lot of NICU grads feeding only from the breast a few months out. On another note, pumping sucks, and I only did it for work reasons. I didn't have the added stress of a preemie and the nicu. Not looking forward to pumping again!

Thanks for the encouragement @crispy11! Fingers crossed Finley gets the hang of breastfeeding soon. It's just so hard to see him frustrated while trying and trying to latch But when he does latch he feeds like a champ!
I have a problem called "I miss my kids because I work too much but then when I'm with my kids they drive me bat s crazy." aka I can never be content. On a positive note, we just found the paw patrol toys we have been looking for for 3 weeks. They were inside my husband's nightstand drawer...obviously.
I hate that nesting is referred to as this big hormonal thing. It's the practical thing to do! I'm going to have people in and out of my house for a month. I'm literally going to have my hands full most of the time. If I want to clean out the linen closet, it's because it's a mess and there. There will be guests going in it, and it is probably not going to be a better time to do this in the next year. It isn't about being a crazy pregnant lady.
@KimmySchmidt I just really like cleaning. Any time we are going away for a few days I deep clean the house first so we can come home to a spotless place. Pregnancy is the same, we will be gone for a few days for delivery (and family will most likely stay here) so I just need a clean house.
This might be a UO & a random all in one but are there any other ladies who have done everything & are now just waiting on baby to come? I've hardcore nested in the past month everything is bought, washed, cleaned, organized and/or packed and I literally have nothing to really do for the next 11 days but wait. I didn't even have a nursery much less everything I needed until my first was 6 months old so I just don't know what to do with myself.

Not yet this time but last pregnancy had my son at 41+3. I had everything done early as a ftm, and seriously just wandered my house looking for things to do at the end, twiddling my thumbs. It was hard, time moved backwards
