Wow, I had to adult today and just read well over 100 comments but am now wayyyy too far behind to respond. So just checking in to tell you I read them ALL and had lots of thoughts, which I tried to express in "love its".
I often express my thoughts with love tits because I can't keep up by the time I get to the end of a thread I've been behind on. Plus I mostly bump from my phone so that makes it extra hard haha

Being almost perms-mobile and super busy has made me miss out on so much here this week. Sometimes I miss not having a toddler hanging on me all day long...I have some catching up to do.
My advice for BJ's is starburst. I always stick one to the top of my mouth so it taste good and honestly I find I can go deeper and get more into it when i have a starburst in my mouth lol.
@AllyTheKid Thats an adorable picture! I love her outfit Also, super glad she enjoyed her first day! @krzyriver LOVE that ring. I'm ALL for fake rings. I'm super into fair trade and unfortunately not enough jewelers follow the guidelines so either rings end up hurting our planet or were touched by a slave/unfair labor at some point.(also total money score!) Which is why my SO and I picked out my ring from Esty. I'm also not a huge fan of diamonds so the ring I had picked out was made with moissanite. I can't wear it right now because my fingers are too chub but I wear it on a chain and I've never had anyone guess it was fake.

@ashleymn, I shall never look at Starbursts in a pg manner again. Lol. But do share, how do you not swallow the Starburst my mistake? Do you just flatten it on the roof of your mouth?
@annabenanna yes, I just flatten it to the top of my mouth and it stays. @CopperBoom86 sounds messy, but I've never had a problem with it being sticky! *tmi maybe* Starburst never falls out and never had a problem with sticky saliva since you just kinda swallow it lol.

@Ashleymn I was going to do moissanite as well for the same reasons! I ended up finding a beautiful ethically sourced blue-green tourmaline that we used instead though. Also, with the setting I wanted our jeweler quoted us 10k on the stone if we wanted diamond and I told him if he wanted to spend that kind of money on me to put it towards a down payment on a new car lol.
@Julia70286 your ring sounds gorgeous! Pictures if you can please! lol that's how I feel, If I'm going to spend that much money we better be buying a house(where I live that is your average Down payment for a house that is equivalent to a $400-500k house in Cali) or a new car.

@Ashleymn I'm not a huge fan of diamonds either. My engagement ring is a blue topaz and I adore it. I eventually want a ring like the fake one I posted, but an amethyst, not a diamond. What's a moissanite? I'm not familiar with that.
@krzyriver Honestly, moissanite looks ALOT like a diamond but it captures light more so IMO they're prettier and you can get them in different colors. They remind me almost of a white sapphire.

I am so glad I am not the only one struggling to catch up lately and am also expressing through love its. My shower is this Saturday and know many of you also are prepping like mad right now for yours this weekend too. I can't wait for the shower thread to blow up!
why do the random people come in here and give some justification bs about why we shouldn't reprimand them for their SS post? I don't careeee
My guess is it's just the nature of the SS beast...0 insight...but it does sometimes make me feel like bitching back while half-laughing still at the ridiculousness
Moissanite has kinda a cool story too... it was first discovered at the site of a meteor strike in AZ a little over 100 years ago. So some say it's derived from star dust! @Ashleymn Here's my ring, the pic really doesn't do it justice. It's a vintage estate piece and has beautiful filigree on the sides. Sorry if it's giant! Mobile bumping!
@mrszoess They make it so hard to be nice! I want to go into total bitch mode!
I'm also finding it hard to contain my snark on the name thread. I don't mind helping people I know with baby names, but I'm weirdly tempted to be like "Lady, I don't know you. I don't care what you name your baby." She's started seven, SEVEN, baby name threads over the years.
Well, my hand might fall off, but more than half of my thank you notes are done! I'll knock the rest out either tomorrow night or Saturday while H is working. That is, if my hand is recovered
It's been approximately 84 hours since my last shower. I usually shower every other day, but my hours were cut at work and I'm working one shift every ten days. I literally lose track of when I've showered without a set schedule. I'm pretty sure this is what maternity leave will be like, except I'll be like *sniff, sniff* god, I smell, but be unable to actually take a shower with a screaming newborn.
p.s. I don't smell. I sniff tested my pits this morning and they were okay, so I just got dressed.

@von1976 If I didn't have my son to help, this would probably be me post-baby. My husband is nuts for starting over 16 years later, but boy am I going to appreciate having a teenager around to give me a hand.
Question about the showering thing - I was thinking newborns sleep a lot (and I can take a shower in just a couple mins if needed)...so why am I always getting told that it becomes a luxury to get a shower?
@mrszoess No, there's another one! Must. Resist. Urge. To. Be. Total. Bitch. Ugh!!!!!
I already did DH is judging me for it. But seriously?!
Mine too. He called us Mean Girls. Lol. He's too nice tho, he wants to be friends with everyone. I tried to explain drive-bys and how you have to give support to get it and he just doesn't understand. Oh well. Guess I'm a bitch. I can live with that. Lol
@krzyriver... Exactly! Mine didn't understand when I tried to explain either. And, whatever. I usually sit back and let everyone else take care of posts like that, solely because my snark just isn't as on point and I appreciate a good laugh. I saw it and just couldn't help myself this time.
eta- I read through the snark from the 33 week concert post to try to explain how much better that is. He did get a good laugh from that at least.
I just can't even with those posts anymore. I think I'm going to look at the username and if they have 1 or 2 posts or replies, nope. I won't even dignify them with a response!
@bnsmith85 They don't understand cause they don't have to deal with it! Lol. I usually leave the snark to everyone else. I'm more of the "here's an actual answer to your question but I'm not really happy to be giving it to you" type. Lol. But the names, no. I don't know you, so I don't care.
He wants me to inform you all that he said we're Mean Girls because I just denied a FB request. So I guess that was my "You can't sit with us!" moment. Lol.
@von1976 The first one has a total of like 14 replies over 5 years or something like that. But she's started 12 discussions. Um... what? No, I don't want to reply to any of your seven baby name threads. *Facepalm*
Question about the showering thing - I was thinking newborns sleep a lot (and I can take a shower in just a couple mins if needed)...so why am I always getting told that it becomes a luxury to get a shower?
Speaking for myself, my newborn did sleep a lot (but some are not so lucky!!) but I either slept while she was sleeping or was too afraid at first. Even with her in a bouncer in the bathroom I was totally nervous that she would wake up mid shower and I'd freak out. I think everything is just overwhelming at first so showering falls to the wayside. I feel so much more prepared this time around.
I should also note that I would shower when dh came home from work so at least one of us could attend to the baby in case she'd wake up, but it was tax season so he wasn't home until 10 some nights and the last thing I wanted to do was either go to bed with wet hair or take the time to dry it. But I also didn't leave the house for like 3 weeks so I wasn't too concerned!
