August IUI

Re: August IUI

  • Annnnndd AF is here. Baseline on Friday. Here we go. It sounds like he's going to have me do the same protocol which seems weird to me since in 5 days clomid didn't really seem to grow my follies and needed the Gonal-F. Has anyone else had that experience with Clomid?

  • kaityh1 So glad to hear the news about no cysts! Your right the tracker is nice to help follow along! Thanks for starting one!

    Bababatty Thanks!

That is funny about the pharmacist. Hopefully you will find good results with the clomid. :)

madasm0530 It is funny to hear about the DH's that seem to care about when people POAS. I hope you feel better and that you still get good news soon. TWW's are brutal. Distraction I think is the most important thing to keep a person sane.

    ReesaAnne16 Thanks!

Did you say your doing an unmediated IUI? What size follies are you having? Do you O on your own?

    kaityh1 Thanks! :)

Sasha29 Glad your starting to feel better.

jwg9101 I have never heard about fluid in the uterus before..what is that about? Sounds like an awesome Dr.

JAH87 the good news is from now on any positives you get are real. :) The day after is day 1.

skysong113 Welcome! I will hope that this is your lucky #1 IUI. :)

Katkirch Thanks! Yeah it is a bummer but I am glad I didn't have to wait a month. Plus I have read some good news about people being more fertile the following month...so FX that this is the right egg/kiddo the right time and the right IUI :)

I only do scheduled ultrasounds but thats because they pretty much know I don't O with out the trigger. If you possible might O without the trigger I can see why they are wanting you to OPK.

I don't monitor my CM but I do sometimes check it randomly and note it down. More for my own curiosity.

I hate hate hate Met...seriously diarrhea 24/7 Glad your not having those symptoms. I just took a break because I hated feeling yucky all the time... I actually haven't taken it for 2 months. Will be interesting what my follies look like this month.

Hopeful_mom I am so hopeful for you that this is the sticky little lentil!

Thanks! :) Oh I believe it implanted..just that the chromosomes likely weren't good - that is one of the most common reasons for CP or Miscarriage. Yeah the Dr when we first got the BFP news was like...however this turns out it is a good sign. And then we got the bad news they were like this is still a good sign that things can work. But this next time they will start me on progesterone right from the start rather than waiting a few days.

I am just really lucky that everyone has been so incredibly supportive and that me and my husband were on the same page about everything.  We just know that it wasn't meant to be and that we are hoping for the healthy bean that sticks...not trying to force something that probably wasn't healthy from the get go.

Side note: When we went and got our follie ultrasound the ultrasound tech said that the follie was an odd shape (which can be BAD news bears) so she thought the dr might even cancel the trigger/IUI. But the Dr looked at the results and decided it was just all weird shape because of how it was smushed by other follies. I will never know which one was true...but it does make me feel better that maybe it was a bit doomed from the get go if the follie was maybe just not a good follie from the start.

    TW>
My mom has a history of a ton of miscarriages. Which didn't seem to be important to my dr before because I wasn't even getting Ku'd....but they said if you have more than 2 or 3 CP  they do more diagnostic testing to see what might be up.

JAH87 That is my norm...bfp is required before a Beta...but I requested a Beta this last cycle...and I think I will from now on. That way they can move forward with my medication if we are BFN and that way if it is a BFP I know from the start.

@ ttcnumber2withhypo When do you do your follow up US?

kristynelson13 What CD were you when the US was done? Sushi whenever you can! Yum!

Isthisthereallife I hope your doing better today! :(

  • Just figured out we will be doing my US and likely my IUI #3 (FX crossed for a mature folllie!!) the same week that I have family visiting...which is a bummer because I have to leave town and drive 2 hours each way for each of the dr appointments so I am going to miss on getting to spend time with them. I had been hoping to take time off work to just have some quality family time...oh well I guess. How TTC takes over a persons life. :)

  • @becauselove thats a bummer that your IUI is scheduled for the week your family comes to visit. I can relate with TTC taking over your life, especially when its out of the norm like we experience. fx for some good follies!

I did my U/S today & it was CD11, so Im now waiting to hear from the DOC on what they want us to do. I typically O on my own, around cd16, but with out the progesterone my LP is super short, like 7-8 days or so, so the progesterone helps me to prolong the cycle.

Last month they did the IUI on CD15, but we will be out of town CD 14 & 15, this month, so Im not sure how this cycle is going to go down. Hopefully the follies will have some time to mature.

  • ***TW***  Hello ladies!  I'm late to the party, but ready to party nontheless!  I am on my first TTC cycle after a loss so I'm super excited to be back in the saddle.  This will be our second IUI.  We got pregnant with IUI #1 so I'm hoping this IUI works as well.

So far, I've done 7.5mg of Femara for 5 days then did Gonal-f for 2 days.  I had an u/s on Monday (8/8) and had 2 follies (11 and 14mm).  After 2 days on Gonal-f, I have 1 at 18mm per my u/s this morning.  I am doing Gonal-f tonight then trigger tomorrow and IUI on Saturday (8/13) .  We will get to test on 8/27.  My husband's birthday is 8/28 and our 2-year wedding anniversary is 8/31 so a Rainbow Baby would be an epic present!!!

I'm wishing everyone the best of luck this month!  It sounds like a super incredible group of ladies is on this thread.  FX for you all!
  • @Bai-by2016 Hey! I was just thinking about you. I am glad you are joining us (although wish you weren't!). I hope this one is a success for you. (Hugs)

  • kristynelson13 I wish you better success than we had when trying to plan IUI's around traveling. Both times we went in my follie's didn't get big enough in time to trigger and get the IUI. Thankfully the traveling both times was fun and mostly worth sitting a cycle out.

How did your follies/follie look at the US?

I honestly can't tell you the amount of times I have been like...if we get Ku'd this month then we won't be able to do x thing...and then turned out nothing happend. Which is its own level of crazy making...planning around the possibility of getting Ku'd. Or the crazy of having a life and work around TTC and dr appointments. I pretty much have to take off 2 days a month for trips to the dr that can't be done in the area I live/work. lol oh well...the joy of trying.

Bai-by2016 Welcome! I think your right in time for the party to really get interesting. :) Very exciting about your 18mm follie and getting to trigger. FX that this is your month!

    TW:
Did you have your loss last month? I just had a CP end on Monday and my Dr let me jump right back into August IUI thankfully! I have heard good things about being fertile right after a loss...maybe the upside....Anyways I hope your doing ok! Sorry for your loss!

  • 1. Do you have any non TTC goals your trying to accomplish before the end of the summer? Or things you wanted to do before the end of summer?
In a perfect world we would have a due date of May/June so then I could have the entire summer off for maternity leave :)
I would also really like to lose 20lbs before getting pregnant, but eating all this junk isnt helping :)

    2. What is your favorite rainy day activity?
Pizza night & Netflix marathon of House of Cards, OINTB, etc...

    3. Has Zika impacted any travels plans you might have had or were thinking about having?
    Not yet...

    4. When you get Ku'd. How long are you planning on taking off from work?
My work gives me 12 weeks, so Im pretty happy with that. Im also blessed with being able to work from home, so that will definitely help
    5. What is your favorite thing about your SO?

He brings back down to earth & helps me manage my expectations. He's really good at calming me down when Im upset.

    6. What is the craziest thing you have done or googled while TTC?
Where on earth do I begin? I feel like Im constantly googling, from wondfo preg tests, the early (and latest) dpo to see a BFP,  pregnancy symptoms, bbt, IUI chances.. the list goes on and on... Ive calmed down a little bit though.

FUN Getting To Know Each Other Questions:

    1. Do you have any non TTC goals your trying to accomplish before the end of the summer? Or things you wanted to do before the end of summer? I am working non stop pretty much for 2 weeks at the end of August so my goal is to try to fit in time for relaxation and calm. I already scheduled myself a massage. I also need to figure out to fit in some downtime with my husband when I am working 2 jobs for 2 weeks straight plus having family visit and going for US/IUI's.

Plus I want to go swimming 1 more time in a lake before the water gets too cold.

    2. What is your favorite rainy day activity?
Reading...totally brain candy books while lounging on my couch! :)

    3. Has Zika impacted any travels plans you might have had or were thinking about having?
Yep, We had been talking about going as a family to FL but if we do get Ku'd it will put a kabosh on FL. Hoping to do a warm weather spring trip but now not really sure where we could go with out worries.

    4. When you get Ku'd. How long are you planning on taking off from work?
We had been hoping both me and DH could take 3 months off...but did the math and it seems more like I would take 3 months (with some vacation/sick leave used up front to cover a few weeks) unpaid, and then DH would likely take 2week-1 Month off unpaid and then maybe go back part time for the next two months...if we can swing it. Didn't seem like as much money until I started to calculate things up.

    5. What is your favorite thing about your SO?

  • 1. Do you have any non TTC goals your trying to accomplish before the end of the summer? Or things you wanted to do before the end of summer?
Finish as much of our house (the floors) as possible. We're getting close but still need to get some more done.

    2. What is your favorite rainy day activity?
Netflix and cuddling. We don't get to do much of that anymore so really enjoy it when we do.

    3. Has Zika impacted any travels plans you might have had or were thinking about having?
Yes. We had planned to go to DR sometime in October but due to the outbreak, regardless if TTC or conceived, it's not possible.

    4. When you get Ku'd. How long are you planning on taking off from work?
I'd likely take the full 12 weeks. DH would probably only take a week or two.

    5. What is your favorite thing about your SO?
Oh my gosh, how do I even answer. There are so many. He is always making me laugh. Even when I don't want to he can bring a smile to my face. He levels me in ways I didn't think were possible. If I'm freaking out about something or worried, he has a way of just taking the pressure out of it and just making it better.

    6. What is the craziest thing you have done or googled while TTC?
. No idea. I'm googled some weird things from discharge, to suppositories, to what should your BW look like in the early stage of pregnancy.

  • FUN Getting To Know Each Other Questions:

    1. Do you have any non TTC goals your trying to accomplish before the end of the summer? Or things you wanted to do before the end of summer?
Just came back from the beach, DH's first time ever! Attempting to continue my weight loss, get in the habit of exercising, and get my house clean. :-)

    2. What is your favorite rainy day activity?
Reading, baking, sewing (cross stitch or embroidery)

    3. Has Zika impacted any travels plans you might have had or were thinking about having?
Not really- the beach we went to is in Delaware, it's where I went as a kid, so not too much worry there

    4. When you get Ku'd. How long are you planning on taking off from work?
I get 6 weeks paid (8 if c-section) and can take up to 12 weeks total with the remainder being unpaid. I'll take all the paid, but unpaid will depend on how much if anything DH is making at the time. He's finishing up a degree in computer science and working off and on, but I'm the primary income for now. I'd like to take the full 12 weeks if we can swing it financially.

    5. What is your favorite thing about your SO?
He's very demonstrative- silly, playful, affectionate, loves to take care of me. He shows me every day how much he loves me and lets me be silly, playful, affectionate, etc. too.

    6. What is the craziest thing you have done or googled while TTC?
Oooh way too much...letting me have Google is a dangerous thing...I look up everything, I want to be as familiar as possible with every possibility
  • Hi Everyone!

After trolling the July IUI board (@BecauseLove so sorry for your loss!) throughout my entire first IUI cycle last month I decided to actually jump in this time.  It was really helpful to hear from other people going through the same thing at the same time -- so I figure I might as well be a part of it instead of just on the sidelines!

We have been TTC for just about a year; I was referred to an RE and diagnosed with PCOS in April and put on Metformin.  We did our first IUI last month with 50mg Clomid on CD2-6 and a trigger shot.  I responded slowly and ended up with only one mature follicle ready for my IUI on 7/20 (CD16).  BFN.

This month my RE upped my dose to 100mg Clomid CD2-6.  Today, CD8, I had my first follie check and had two follicles measuring over 11mm (one on each side).  Seems I am responding better this round and I am hoping they mature quickly enough for an IUI next Tuesday or Wednesday morning as we fly across the country for a 10 day vacation next Wednesday night. Eek!  My RE seemed optimistic that timing should work out perfectly and vacation should make my TWW a little less unbearable!  I hope so!

Wishing you all a successful cycle and hoping we can fill the spreadsheet with a ton of BFPs!

@Isthisthereallife -- I can totally relate to the ice cream splurging!  It's all I've wanted since my BFN.

  • @BecauseLove I'm hoping if this is a BFN that we can get things moving. I have pcos so I have to take progesterone every month to have a period so that sets us back each time. I've never ovulated on my own so idk if all these pains I'm having are things happening or from them poking around from my iui or if this is normal ovulation feels. Since I don't ovulate on my own either I wasn't sure how that would feel. Today has been the worst with the cramping and nausea, feeling better now that I'm home and settled in for the night. I'm 6dpiui now.
  • 1. Do you have any non TTC goals your trying to accomplish before the end of the summer? Or things you wanted to do before the end of summer?
I was doing really well eating a low-carb, sugar-free diet and exercising at least 3 times a week... but my grandmother died last month (the night before my IUI in fact!) and it's really thrown me off my game.  I'm hoping, once we get back from our vacation, I can get back to it!

    2. What is your favorite rainy day activity?
Sleeping in!  I love waking up to the sound of rain... plus reading and Netflix.  If we venture out I find rainy days are often good museum days.

    3. Has Zika impacted any travels plans you might have had or were thinking about having?
    Not yet...

    4. When you get Ku'd. How long are you planning on taking off from work?
As much as I can... I work for a small company and don't officially get any paid maternity leave.  Hopefully I can work something out with my boss.  I do have the ability to work from home, even at odd hours, so that should help a little.

    5. What is your favorite thing about your SO?
So much.  He's just the right guy for me!  He has a great balance of intelligence and goofiness.  He's so reassuring and tries his best to understand how I feel.  And he tries everyday to be the best husband he can be -- which makes me try very hard to be a really good wife!

    6. What is the craziest thing you have done or googled while TTC?
Toward the end of my TWW last month i found myself doing a google image search for discharge...... yeah.  This IF thing can make a girl go crazy!

  • @kristynelson13 That must be frustrating.  But it's still early.  Fx that they mature by your Friday u/s.

@liahay Glad you've joined us.  That's exciting that you're responding better this month.  Hoping that your IUI is right before your vacation.  That would be perfect for keeping your mind off things during your TWW.  Where are you going for vacation?

FUN Getting To Know Each Other Questions:

    1. Do you have any non TTC goals your trying to accomplish before the end of the summer? Or things you wanted to do before the end of summer?
I am a teacher and go  back for inservice days tomorrow.  I don't even like typing that because it makes it feel more real.  I'm in denial.  Anyways, my summer is over.  We bought our first house in May so I had a bunch of home improvement goals for the summer.  I didn't get all of them done but I'm satisfied with what I did get done.

    2. What is your favorite rainy day activity?
With the right book, I love to read.  I get really sucked in and have a hard time stopping to do anything else.

    3. Has Zika impacted any travels plans you might have had or were thinking about having?
Not yet.  We went to Israel this summer but there's no Zika risk there yet.

    4. When you get Ku'd. How long are you planning on taking off from work?
I get 6 weeks paid but it uses the sick days I've been saving up so not the greatest.  It would be great if we got pregnant this cycle because then my maternity leave would lead into my summer off.

    5. What is your favorite thing about your SO?
He's much more stable than I am.  I can be super emotional and worry about things too much and he really grounds me.

    6. What is the craziest thing you have done or googled while TTC?
Haha.  What haven't I looked up?  I think I have a google addiction.  Is that a thing?  I've gotten better but I think it's just because there is nothing left to look up anymore.

  • @Katkirch lol I feel you on the running out of things to look up on Google...unfortunately I've recently started looking up things I've already looked up "just to make sure"...
  • @BecauseLove  Right now I'm in the TWW for our last natural/TI cycle. I'll start Femara mid-month, and IUI near the end of August. We too have family visiting a few days after my predicted IUI date, and they don't know that we are starting IUI's... It's going to be super awkward if both DH and I have to sneak off for "doctors appointments" on the same day. I might need to come up with better excuses. Good luck this cycle to you!

    1. Do you have any non TTC goals your trying to accomplish before the end of the summer? Or things you wanted to do before the end of summer?
Last fall I didn't manage to get much planted for a "fall garden" in veggie garden, so this year I'm trying to be proactive and get stuff like spinach, beets, peas and lettuce planted so we have produce into Oct, Nov, and Dec. It's been so darn hot here that I can't plant them yet :/

    2. What is your favorite rainy day activity?

I'm with @liahay , I love sleeping in on rainy days. I love opening the windows so I can hear the rain, and feel the moist breeze through the house, make a cup of tea and curl up on the couch (maybe with a book, but often for a nap) :)

    3. Has Zika impacted any travels plans you might have had or were thinking about having?

YES :( We have been hoping to get back to Costa Rica before having kids, but that's out now. Then I was trying to plan a trip to Florida in Feb (I always get bad seasonal depression in Feb) to swim with the manatees in Crystal River and got to Harry Potter world, but now it looks like Florida is out too! I'm going to talk to my RE and see how much of a risk it might be, considering the outbreak was only in Miami.

    4. When you get Ku'd. How long are you planning on taking off from work?
I work for a small business, so any time off will be unpaid. That being said, we can afford for me to take as much as I want, so I'm guessing 4-6 months depending on the timing. My boss is super supportive and told me I could take as much time as I wanted, and come back and work any number of hours I wanted post baby, so I feel blessed. DH will likely take 3-4ish weeks vacation time.

    5. What is your favorite thing about your SO?
He is very selfless, He is always puts my needs first, and has supported me through so many ups & downs. He is patient and encouraging at times when I'm feeling discouraged and impatient.  We are so different, yet work great as a team. I'm the dreamer, and he makes it happen :)

    6. What is the craziest thing you have done or googled while TTC?
I still regret the month I drank robitussin 2-3x a day to improve my CM.. Yuck it was so nasty (and obviously didn't work!)

DH and I have been talking about moving but right now that's not going to happen. So I decided to just redecorate our current apartment a little.

    2. What is your favorite rainy day activity?
I love crafting. I've made a few pieces to decorate with or as gifts. I am a Pinterest addict lol.

    3. Has Zika impacted any travels plans you might have had or were thinking about having?

We don't really travel much. I have some places that I'd like to go but DH doesn't like to fly. Maybe one day we will get out.

    4. When you get Ku'd. How long are you planning on taking off from work?
Im a waitress so anytime off will be unpaid. Really depend on how things go but I usually make great money on the weekends. My current schedule is Wednesday's-Sunday's. I may only go back part time for a while, and just work Friday's-Sunday's.

    5. What is your favorite thing about your SO?
He is very supportive and patient. I was really hard on myself when I wasn't responding to the meds and was having a really rough week, on top of my grandpa passing and he was just there and helped me through. He had some very encouraging words. I can't wait to see him as a Dad.

    6. What is the craziest thing you have done or googled while TTC?
DH loves to research so I've been googling everything that's happening to my body and having him watch the YouTube videos with me
  • Oh man. I love reading about each of you!

Unfortunately I'm out completely for a few months. My doctor is so awesome and we came up with a whole new plan. My lining doesn't look good at all and with the fluid in my uterus, the signs are pointing to possible scar tissue or leftovers from my loss. So she's going to do a Hysteroscopy and a D&C in a few weeks. Then we are going to move forward to IVF! We figure if my insurance is paying 100% we might as well move forward to the most successful option. She told me today that she feels confident that she'll be able to knock me up!

  • @jwg9101 sorry to hear that you're out for a few months but hooray for awesome doctors and insurance coverage! FX that this new plan works for you!
  • Hello! After several months of beginning this process and 1 1/2 yr of trying after MC we are doing our first IUI. I went in yesterday for CD2 US and PT. I start Clomid 50 for 5 days today. After some research it seems most people take it at night, anyone taking it during the day? I go in for my monitoring on the 17th and will trigger with Ovidrel once I'm instructed. I'm a little overwhelmed since I go back to work on the 16th from summer break and start graduate school on the 22nd. I also went on Tuesday to my IVF consult and that was soooooooooooooo overwhelming, so I'm definitely hoping one of these two IUIs work, my dr said we would do two and move on. Good luck to you all and thanks for sharing!
  • @jwg9101 wishing you all the best!!

@msjen11 welcome!  I can't help with the clomid question... I have always taken it at night.  My RE's office suggested it because people tend to remember to take their pills better just before bed.  Especially since they recommend taking them as close to the same time each day.

  • 1. Do you have any non TTC goals your trying to accomplish before the end of the summer? Or things you wanted to do before the end of summer?
My summer as sadly over, but I've been working on working out, eating healthier and drinking lots of water.

    2. What is your favorite rainy day activity?
    Snuggling and watching TV.

    3. Has Zika impacted any travels plans you might have had or were thinking about having?

I live in South Florida, so I'm pretty stressed about Zika. I don't go anywhere near Wynwood and SO is constantly being harassed about using bug spray. They actually had me sign Zika paperwork at RE yesterday. no fun  :#

    4. When you get Ku'd. How long are you planning on taking off from work?
Once God blesses me with a child I am taking a year off, but because of Zika and how stressful my school is I'm considering taking time off during pregnancy.

    5. What is your favorite thing about your SO?
I love that he is problem solver, his laugh, smile, eyes and he is so creative. I love how we both enjoy the outdoors and love traveling.

    6. What is the craziest thing you have done or googled while TTC?
I think the second HSG was the craziest, the first was so painful since they used a balloon. I asked the nurse for a xanax and combined it with Ibuprofen for the second one. I slept for several hours once we returned home.
  • @Bai-by2016 Sorry you have to be here!  Good luck with your IUI on Saturday and FX for you!

@liahay Welcome! I lurked on the boards a lot before I started joining in too.

@jwg9101 Sorry you're having to sit out but so glad your RE seems to have a great plan! Good luck with IVF!

    @Msjen11 Welcome!

    1. Do you have any non TTC goals your trying to accomplish before the end of the summer? Or things you wanted to do before the end of summer?
DH and I have been updating our house so I really want to try and finish some projects within the next month or so!

    2. What is your favorite rainy day activity?
Being lazy, watching Netflix, and baking or cooking!

    3. Has Zika impacted any travels plans you might have had or were thinking about having?
Yes, we have been wanting to splurge on an all-inclusive trip down south but don't want to risk it.  We decided that if we get KU'd this cycle, we will go on a small trip out west and if this cycle fails we will take some time off of TTC before we move on to IVF so that we can go on a trip! Any suggestions!?

    4. When you get Ku'd. How long are you planning on taking off from work?
Ideally, I would LOVE to stay at home for a few years or so.  Realistically, I'm going to try for 12-18 weeks.

    5. What is your favorite thing about your SO?
He's the only person that I can 100% be myself with.  He is so good at calming me down and always listens to my crazy ramblings.  Not to mention he's pretty damn sexy ;)

    6. What is the craziest thing you have done or googled while TTC?
What HAVEN'T I googled? LOL Symptoms, medication side effects, gross photos, you name it!

  • @ttcnumber2withhypo You are so sweet!  Thank you!  If I have to be here, I’m glad it’s with you.  :)

@isthisthereallife  and @kristynelson 13 I’m SO totally hoping for a Rainbow Baby!  I even have my eye on a couple rainbow type things from Etsy for the nursery if we get a RB this time.

@BecauseLove My CP was in June.  It was crazy…it took 5 weeks for me to stop bleeding and my hCG to return to normal.  It ended on 7/19/16 and we jumped right back in. I had to force a period first.  I’m glad you were able to go right back to it. I think it helps with closure.  I’m doing much better now.  I hope you are too.  I’m sorry you lost your little one.

I love the GTKY questions!  How fun!  Thanks for starting that!  Can you try to add me to the tracker?  It says I’m offline and I can’t get it to work for me.  (INFO:  Bai-by2016, IUI #2, Follie: 1 @ 18mm, IUI on 8/13/16

    @kaityh1 Thank you so much!

    1. Do you have any non TTC goals your trying to accomplish before the end of the summer? Or things you wanted to do before the end of summer? I am a SUN LOVER and have only been to the pool once this year and it was just last weekend.  I’d like to go a few more times before the summer is over.  I’d really like to take my nieces (9, 7, 4, and 18 mos) swimming and to an amusement park nearby.  They’ve never been.

    2. What is your favorite rainy day activity?
    SLEEP, SLEEP, AND MORE SLEEP!

    3. Has Zika impacted any travels plans you might have had or were thinking about having?
Thanksfully, no, but I’m obsessed with bug spray when we play sand volleyball or do yard work.  LOL!

    4. When you get Ku'd. How long are you planning on taking off from work?
I’m so embarrassed to say that I don’t know how long our maternity leave it.  I think it’s 6 weeks.  I will use that along with probably a week or so of PTO.

    5. What is your favorite thing about your SO?
He’s great with money and makes me laugh at the most unexpected times.  He never sings in the car or anything (like I do) but he’ll walk through the house singing Taylor Swift or Rihanna and it cracks me up.  I secretly started a list of the songs he sings and the date.

    6. What is the craziest thing you have done or googled while TTC?
OMG!  Where to start?  LOL!  I recently searched for EGCM.  I had it happen after my CP and totally freaked out because I didn’t know what it was.  I have PCOS so I don’t ovulate on my own so I’ve never experienced it before.  I became obsessed with videos about CM.  So gross, I know.  I find it fascininating for some reason.

  • Good evening!

@BecauseLove I'm sorry you're here and for what you've been going through but at least it's such a great group of supportive people!  I love your matter of fact, positive attitude.  It is inspiring and how I would hope to deal with a chemical pregnancy.  Thanks for starting the getting to know you thing!!  I've enjoyed reading the responses.  There is a theme: it seems most significant other's have a grounding presence.  Thank goodness for that!

    1. Do you have any non TTC goals your trying to accomplish before the end of the summer? Or things you wanted to do before the end of summer?
nothing big, just trying to soak up the sun and get out and about, seeing friends, etc.

    2. What is your favorite rainy day activity?
watching netflix, playing/cuddling with my kitty, cleaning the house (it's a love/hate thing, I like how accomplished I feel after its done!)

    3. Has Zika impacted any travels plans you might have had or were thinking about having?
sadly yes, we had hoped to go to Dominican Republic on a medical mission trip with a few family members but had to opt out.  But we are going to Amsterdam in October, and Paris in December, so I'm not too sad about not being able to go to the Caribbean/ Florida!!  There's plenty of other fun places in the world.

    4. When you get Ku'd. How long are you planning on taking off from work?
12 weeks?  Only 6 or 8 is paid, similar to everyone else.  I hope to decrease my hours too, if it's financially possible, and maybe switch to working nights.

    5. What is your favorite thing about your SO?
he makes me laugh.  He is calm and supportive.  He lives in the moment!  He is honest and passionate.  He laughs at his own jokes.  Haha.

    6. What is the craziest thing you have done or googled while TTC?
every day past IUI, I've googled symptoms and tried to figure out if I was having them.  I've googled "squinters" to try to see if my negative test could somehow be mistaken.  Haha.  Denial and the Internet are powerful things.

I had my 5th IUI today!  I had 1 follie (17mm) on my cd 12 u/s on Sunday and my lining was not as thick as usual (clomid side effect?) so that's why we waited a few days to let things grow/ thicken up.  Triggered on Tuesday, then IUI today.  I spent the afternoon binging on Hart of Dixie, then ventured over to the pool.  In the parking lot, as I was grabbing my beach chair out of the car, a little girl (maybe like 4 yrd old, getting slathered with sunscreen) asked me if I was coming to the pool?  I said yes!  Then she asked me "do you have a daughter?"  Nope, just me. Womp womp. But, maybe it was a good omen?  Trying to see it that way.
  • @lady_grey sending you lots of sticky baby dust!! I think it is a good omen!!

@BecauseLove big thanks for the GTKU! I love reading all the responses. There definetly is a theme in our DH's!!

I just had my baseline blood & US this morning so will likely be starting Clomid this weekend. :) What's everyone's weekend plans? Anyone doing anything fun?

  • Went for follow-up ultrasound and I was surprised at how much the follies grew in 2 days, about 5mm each! So now we have a follie on each side, 17 & 13. Today is CD 13,  so now Im waiting to hear back from the nurse. Hopefully we will be able to trigger this weekend and do IUI on Monday morning FX! She also seemed super excited about the fact that my lining had a triple pattern measuring at 7.7. Huge improvement over the clomid... so we shall see!

@Isthisthereallife so glad that everything looks good! And I agree I can totally see the similarities with our DH"s.

We are off to a 3 day music festival in the mountains of west virginia this weekend. Swimming, music, some adult beverages, hiking, just what the doctor ordered. Except its going to be extremely hot, but looking forward to it.

Hope all you ladies have a wonderful weekend!

    IUI #2 - August 16, 2016- Femara 5mg, Ovidrel, Progesterone, 3 follicles- BFP
  • I have to update and run! I went in for another US today. My lining looks good at over 9. I have three follies growing!! Two are 12 and one is 14. So looks good for at least one but maybe the other two will catch up! I also talked to them about not doing the trigger and they were fine with that. I have to go back in on Monday for another US to see how far they progressed. So IUI will probably be early next week. Eek!

  • @kristynelson13    I'm so glad you have two nice follies and you're weekend Sounds fabulous!

@Ttcnumber2withhypo what size is your RE looking for. Good luck on Monday!
  • @Msjen11 I believe the nurse said 17-19
  • edited August 2016
@Msjen11 thank you! Hopefully one of them take ! And welcome :) It can be a slightly overwhelming process but support is everything. It definitely helps. Fingers crossed for you !  By the way I take mine at night. I was on Clomid last cycle but we are trying femara this time because Clomid thinned my lining too much

  • @Isthisthereallife I totally agree on the DH theme...even though I didn't really mention it, mine is that way too  my weekend plans are boring, errands and cleaning. Glad everything sounds good for you getting started this cycle!

@kristynelson13 where in WV? I live in Morgantown, in the northern part of the state. Hope you have fun! Yes, it's been really hot!
  • @lady_grey  I’m with you 100% on the cleaning thing.  I hate doing it, but oh the feeling of things being in order.  I love your words “Denial and the Internet are powerful things”…hilarious!  And so true!  I see that little girl’s comment as a good omen for sure!

@isthisthereallife The first Cincinnati Bengals preseason game is tonight so I’ll be watching that with the hubby then IUI tomorrow morning and nothing planned after that.  How about you?  What are you up to this weekend?

@kristynelson13   The follie growth is awesome!  And the lining thickening is a great thing!  Get that cushion ready for implantation!  It sounds like you have a great weekend planned!  Enjoy!

@ttcnumber2withhypo OMG!  I am SO glad the IUI will work out without the trigger shot!!!  WOO HOO!  And you’ve got some great follies!  I be the “12s” will catch up!

  • @Msjen11 welcome to the board and good luck with your first IUI!  Even though it is so incredibly overwhelming, it feels really good to be taking steps towards improving your chances.  Good luck with the clomid!  I took mine usually in the afternoon around 4pm, as the other ladies have said I think the key is that you do it the same time each day.

@Isthisthereallife wishing you good luck as you gear up to start clomid this cycle!!  What are your weekend plans?  I hope you treat yourself and do some things that you enjoy.  All your house projects sound fun but maybe you should get a pedicure too ;).  I'm sorry to hear that things were so crushing after your first IUI.  I felt the same exact way.  I remember crying so hard and having this deep aching pain in my chest, like actual heart break.  Ugh.

@kristynelson13 your weekend sounds so fun!  It sounds like you have two beautiful follies.  Great news!

@Ttcnumber2withhypo that's awesome news on your scan.  I hope they get nice and big!!

We're planning to head to the Jersey shore this weekend.  My parents rented a beach house.  Looking forward to the sun and sand!!
