1. When you get a BFP how long will you wait to post an announcement on FB (or would you never announce on FB)? DH and I decided we won't be doing a FB announcement. For him, the reasoning is that he doesn't like everyone being in our business and his sister posts about everything and it drives him nuts. For me, its because I've been on "this side" of seeing all the announcements and knowing how awful they make me feel.. I don't want to make anyone I'm friends with (that have IF struggles I don't know about) feel that way.
2. Who have you told that your TTC? (examples: Close Friends, In Laws, Facebook, Siblings, No one, Strangers on the street) Our parents and siblings along with some close family and friends know. I would do anything for his mom to not know because she's very toxic and exhausting but he wanted to tell her (lol pick your battles, right?).
3. If you were going to take a class for fun (no credit-but you had to pay for it)...what kind of class would it be? I would love to do a painting or pottery class.. I have been considering looking into them at my local art museum lately.
4. What is your favorite food? This one is hard! Mac n' cheese or cookies!
5.What is the best date you have ever been on? To be totally honest, I don't think I can honestly think of a date where I was like "oh this is amazing." LOL sorry, DH!
6. Anyone reading any blogs that they would recommend (could be TTC related but doesn't have to be)? Nope, but would love to hear about some others!
@kristynelson13 I had one at almost 18 Saturday morning (up from almost 16 Friday morning) which looks to be my only mature follicle. But, at least I have one! My RE scheduled my iui for the very precise time of "8ish" tomorrow morning, lol! Hoping tomorrow is it for both of us!!

Hopeful_mom I had heard about the bladder thing on one of the boards...and then read the study and it seemed to make a difference...even if not a huge one. I drank a ton and had the nervous have to pee feeling so went to the bathroom but then drank a ton of water before we went into the room (we have about 45 mins before they call us in from dropping off the goods to the IUI). It was hard but if that even gave me a little 1 up...I was willing to suffer for the short term lol. I hope you get to slow down before me...I won't get much down time till middle of Sept. That is when our busy season for 1 of my jobs gets quiet...but at the same time my other job ramps up (though I get to mostly only work 1 job about then so not such a big deal). I just have a busy life. Middle of winter usually gets a little quiet. Let us know about IVF orientation. I would be curious. I sure wish insurance covered iui's and ivf oh well.

I am full of questions today!! Is anyone trying the pineapple core thing? If you are, do you know when to start?. I have IUIs on Wednesday and Thursday and I am not sure if I start eating it Wednesday or wait until I am finished on Thursday? Anyone have any incite?
@BecauseLove your comment about how hot it is where I live made me LOL. Fall garden's are planted in August, for an Oct/Nov crop. I'm in wisconsin, but it's been an unusually warm August (80-90 for weeks) so the peas seeds I've been trying to plant aren't doing well, they prefer 50-70 degrees for germination. Also planting lettuce, bok choy & spinach. I'm super jealous that you have a greenhouse! I hope your tomatoes are ok, they are usually pretty hardy plants, I've even fixed partially broken branches by tying them back together and still got fruit.

After going through IF, and feeling so much hurt and pain every time I see a FB announcement, I just don't think it's fair to anyone else who might be going through it. All my close friends and family will find out in person.

(examples: Close Friends, In Laws, Facebook, Siblings, No one, Strangers on the street) I've told my parents, my sisters and SIL's (I left it up to DH on whether he wanted to tell his parents or not). Also, most of my close friends know, and I'm thankful they do. I get so tempted to repost articles about IF or how to encourage people with IF, but then I would have random questions from people I don't talk to IP anymore, and I definitely don't want the pity.
3. If you were going to take a class for fun (no credit-but you had to pay for it)...what kind of class would it be? I'm kind of taking a class, if you count my horseback riding lessons! I have to agree with the ladies that said art class, I've always enjoyed those. Or maybe a film photography class to I could play in a dark room again.

To answer your question on the pineapple core, from what other ladies have said on the board in the past, I think you eat it for 5 days after IUI. I blend mine into smoothies with coconut water and frozen strawberries! @Ttcnumber2withhypo

I'm not even allowed to put pics of my niece and nephews up, everyone is private...and I'd be too nervous as many don't really know i'm trying!I'm a bit superstitious as well and would wait quite a bit before sharing the amazing news.

@BecauseLove very interesting info on the bladder hold, i do it all the time, I held it a full hour after the iui was done. Hopefully even a not full bladder will work Unfortunately for me i feel like work is not letting up anytime soon, i might have a couple weeks off so IF this doesn't work it might be a good time to try IVF. I'm nervous as I hope that is the quick fix but what if its not.

Have any of you ladies been prescribed PIO injections? I did suppositories last time and they caused a lot of irritation. They prescribed PIO and I'm kind of freaking out at the needle size. I do my own Gonal F and Ovidrel shots but these suckers are huge!
@Hopeful_mom How are you doing? Is your beta Friday as well - I know our IUIs were pretty close.
I am driving myself crazy with all these (most likely) phantom symptoms!

3. If you were going to take a class for fun (no credit-but you had to pay for it)...what kind of class would it be? Some sort of history class. I didn't like history as a kid and now I really enjoy certain aspects. Especially Egyptian. I think it would be so interesting to learn it now as an adult.
4. What is your favorite food? I'm with the other girls on this, I love carbs. They don't love me, but I love them. Pizza, pasta, ice cream, yum. I'm also a sushi fan. Luckily. I'm pretty good during the week and stick to salads.
5.What is the best date you have ever been on? My first date with my DH. It was so ordinary but extraordinary at the same time. We met at a wedding and while the couple went on their honeymoon, he was babysitting their 5 year old son. So our first date was to Olive Garden with their son. It was so fun, and sweet. I guess when you know, you know.

Thanks ladies! I'm concerned slightly about the count . His was only at 3.1 mil post wash, last time it was triple that! Grr! Dr says it only takes the chances away slightly, but still! @Isthisthereallife
@kristynelson13 it went well! I felt so much more relaxed and less stressed this time around... so I am hoping my little follicle is happy too! They never give us a count... he just said the sample looked good. I should have asked.... but maybe it's better I don't know... one less thing to worry about! Sorry you're count was less than ideal! Let's hope there's a few really good swimmers in there and it won't matter!!

Be happy the motility is 86 thats important so be hopeful the magic is happening!! I totally get it, I was so bummed and stressed for a few days. Called my dr right away and here i am waiting to see whats what heres hoping!!!

AFM I went in for my post-clomid u/s on Monday and I've got a couple of 16s, a 14, and a 13. I'm going in for another u/s tomorrow; the doctor is concerned that too many may mature. She said to plan for IUI this weekend. GTKU Questions 1. When you get a BFP how long will you wait to post an announcement on FB (or would you never announce on FB)? I'm not sure I'd post anything official, since I know at least one FB friend is having her own IF struggles and I know how hard it was when I was inundated with announcements last winter. I wouldn't stop other family members from posting, but only after the first trimester.
2. Who have you told that your TTC? (examples: Close Friends, In Laws, Facebook, Siblings, No one, Strangers on the street) We've both told our families and our close friends. My parents had their own fertility struggles, so I know my mom understands. I tell pretty much anyone who asks why we don't have kids yet. I'm very open about this, except at work since I try to keep my personal life separate. I've told my boss because of all the doctor's appointments, and her assistant, since she receives my emails about said appointments. We're fortunate everyone's been very supportive.
3. If you were going to take a class for fun (no credit-but you had to pay for it)...what kind of class would it be? I second all the arts people. I took weaving in high school and I'd love to do it again. Even better--sewing! I desperately want to know how to at least patch my own clothes and hem pants.
4. What is your favorite food? Ooo that's hard! Like many others, if it's a carb or a sweet, I'll probably love it.
5.What is the best date you have ever been on? For our second date, DH accidentally took me to nursing home, which was certainly the funniest date if not the best. To be fair, he didn't realize the venue was a nursing home and he was under the mistaken impression that it was a performance of Mozart's Requiem. It was actually a talkback about Mozart's Requiem and then an inexplicable performance of excerpts from Le Nozze di Figaro.
6. Anyone reading any blogs that they would recommend (could be TTC related but doesn't have to be)? I like Refashionista, but she doesn't post much. I also liked Young House Love, but they've stopped posting.

@Bai-by2016 thank you! That is what I have read too but since I am having two IUIs, I wasn't sure if I should start tomorrow or Thursday. I think I will start Thursday just to be safe. I am also going to drink the grape juice! We are trying everything because this might be our last chance for a little while. This month with appointments, medicine, and everything is costing us about $400, we just don'the have that right now .
When is your IUI scheduled for?
Did the trigger shot tonight, and with all that worrying, it was nothing! My only concern was how much liquid in it. There was less than 1 ml (not sure if that is the correct term, it didn'the go to the 1 on there syrengine). Is that right? It doesn'the seem like much.
@Bai-by2016 where are you in Cincinnati? I'm in Delhi. Just started to go to IRH beginning of July. This iui is killing me not knowing what's going on and being my first. I'm supposed to do test at home on Thursday but think I'm gonna see if I can just go in for beta for peace of mind. At this point I feel nothing, but who knows. Still holding on to the last bit of hope I have. Today has not been a good one.

I had my follie check this morning. After 5 days of clomid and 2 Gonal-F shots, I have a 13 and a 14. Have to wait for the nurse to call and see what next steps are. I'm really hopeful that it wont fall on the weekend because that would be very hard for us. We'd have to go to the downtown Chicago office and with a lot of other stuff going on this weekend, and DH not to keen on doing a sample in the office, it might make it difficult.

Just finished. DH sperm count was 20,000 with 99% morbidity. That sounds so low but the dr didn't seemed too concerned. She just kept saying, you only need one. I guess when we do the second, that will be 40,000. FX!

@Ttcnumber2withhypoThat shirt is so cute... DH and I are headed to Asia next month for vacation, and I'm really really hoping to be able to buy some cute little baby souvenirs while we're there. DH said just do it anyway, but I don't think I'll be able to unless I get a BFP before we leave, even if it's a tentative BFP.
Also, we haven't made a final decision about IVF, but I'm leaning toward no. It's just a lot; I was already very put off by how unnatural this whole process feels, and I just don't know that I can do any more doctors and procedures and hormones. I don't feel like I've been fully myself since we started treatments, and I just don't know if I can take that extra step. That said, we're only on cycle #2. I also have to account for DH's feelings, of course, and I think he'd want to push forward, the thing is, he really has just zero empathy for how hard this is on my body, and that's what would stop me.

It's been a crazy couple of days for me at work and home which has really helped with my tww. I've been here for less than a week and everyone is so nice and welcoming. You ladies are amazing!!

@Bai-by2016 We're IUI Buddies! Maybe we even saw each other Saturday and didn't even know. Lol. I also have PCOS. I have my monthly AF without any meds, but I don't ovulate without meds. My Co Worker's Wife told me to try Cinnamon with Chromium. She has PCOS and after taking it for 1 month she became pregnant. If this cycle doesn't work then I might try that as well.

Hopeful_mom I had heard about the bladder thing on one of the boards...and then read the study and it seemed to make a difference...even if not a huge one. I'm not going to do a facebook announcement. After going through IF, and feeling so much hurt and pain every time I see a FB announcement, I just don't think it's fair to anyone else who might be going through it. All my close friends and family will find out in person.

I've told my parents, my sisters and SIL's (I left it up to DH on whether he wanted to tell his parents or not). Also, most of my close friends know, and I'm thankful they do. I get so tempted to repost articles about IF or how to encourage people with IF, but then I would have random questions from people I don't talk to IP anymore, and I definitely don't want the pity.

I'm kind of taking a class, if you count my horseback riding lessons! I have to agree with the ladies that said art class, I've always enjoyed those. Or maybe a film photography class to I could play in a dark room again.

1. When you get a BFP how long will you wait to post an announcement on FB (or would you never announce on FB)? HELL NO!!! I'm not even allowed to put pics of my niece and nephews up, everyone is private...and I'd be too nervous as many don't really know i'm trying!I'm a bit superstitious as well and would wait quite a bit before sharing the amazing news.
2. Who have you told that your TTC? (examples: Close Friends, In Laws, Facebook, Siblings, No one, Strangers on the street) It really started out as no one just some of the blogs but having issues made it tougher. I have a close friend that had fertitlty issues and first turned to her for advice.
3. If you were going to take a class for fun (no credit-but you had to pay for it)...what kind of class would it be? hmmmmm dancing even though my knees ache after. I'd do a cooking, painting or photography. ReesaAnne16 funny i love horse back riding thats a great one! have done that one in years!! we can go to classes together
4. What is your favorite food? kristynelson13 i'm with you all about the carbs, pizza and ice cream are favs, and i do enjoy sushi as well. But you can do ice cream for breakfast and dinner

@BecauseLove very interesting info on the bladder hold, i do it all the time, I held it a full hour after the iui was done. Hopefully even a not full bladder will work

Have any of you ladies been prescribed PIO injections? I did suppositories last time and they caused a lot of irritation. They prescribed PIO and I'm kind of freaking out at the needle size. I do my own Gonal F and Ovidrel shots but these suckers are huge!

2. Who have you told that your TTC? (examples: Close Friends, In Laws, Facebook, Siblings, No one, Strangers on the street) Very few people, 2 of my closest friends and my mom. I told my boss because of all the time off work. Otherwise that's it.
3. If you were going to take a class for fun (no credit-but you had to pay for it)...what kind of class would it be? Some sort of history class. I didn't like history as a kid and now I really enjoy certain aspects. Especially Egyptian. I think it would be so interesting to learn it now as an adult.
4. What is your favorite food? I'm with the other girls on this, I love carbs. They don't love me, but I love them. Pizza, pasta, ice cream, yum. I'm also a sushi fan. Luckily. I'm pretty good during the week and stick to salads.
5.What is the best date you have ever been on? My first date with my DH. It was so ordinary but extraordinary at the same time. We met at a wedding and while the couple went on their honeymoon, he was babysitting their 5 year old son. So our first date was to Olive Garden with their son. It was so fun, and sweet. I guess when you know, you know.
6. Anyone reading any blogs that they would recommend (could be TTC related but doesn't have to be)? Not much of a blog reader...this is the closest to blogging I get.

@kristynelson13 it went well! I felt so much more relaxed and less stressed this time around... so I am hoping my little follicle is happy too! They never give us a count... he just said the sample looked good. I should have asked.... but maybe it's better I don't know... one less thing to worry about! Sorry you're count was less than ideal! Let's hope there's a few really good swimmers in there and it won't matter!!

Went to IVF orientation and it was a lot but i feel like between all the research and that IUIs i was pretty much in the know BUT WHOA lot of meds in a short amount of time....really hoping and praying i won't need it!!
@madasm0530 hey how r u doing? what type of symptoms are you having? I feel like everything feels like AF cramping praying that its not!! Are you going for a beta on fri? today is 2 weeks since my first iii and tomorrow will be 2w officially hoping AF stays away!!

@kristynelson13 What was the motility? I guess you don't remember my rant 2weeks ago that i posted on the july board and here. My OH was only 2.2 and 2.3 after wash so i HEAR YOU!!! quick recap.... First IUI we had 67.5 million count, motile was 99, total motile was 26.8

IUI 1 - 12.9 million count, motile was 43, total motile was 2.2
IUI 2 - 6 million count, motile was 85, total motile was 2.3
So I guess its 4.5million to get the job done, so lets hope it did and all the goodness will continue for us all this month!!!

AFM I went in for my post-clomid u/s on Monday and I've got a couple of 16s, a 14, and a 13. I'm going in for another u/s tomorrow; the doctor is concerned that too many may mature. She said to plan for IUI this weekend. Not terribly convenient since I have a friend visiting, but we'll make it work--and if it's successful, I can joke with her that she was there when we conceived. ;-) Interesting tip on the full bladder; I'll have to look up that study.

I'm not sure I'd post anything official, since I know at least one FB friend is having her own IF struggles and I know how hard it was when I was inundated with announcements last winter. I wouldn't stop other family members from posting, but only after the first trimester.

My parents had their own fertility struggles, so I know my mom understands. I tell pretty much anyone who asks why we don't have kids yet. I'm very open about this, except at work since I try to keep my personal life separate. I've told my boss because of all the doctor's appointments, and her assistant, since she receives my emails about said appointments. We're fortunate everyone's been very supportive.
3. If you were going to take a class for fun (no credit-but you had to pay for it)...what kind of class would it be? I second all the arts people. I took weaving in high school and I'd love to do it again. Even better--sewing! I desperately want to know how to at least patch my own clothes and hem pants.
4. What is your favorite food? Ooo that's hard! Like many others, if it's a carb or a sweet, I'll probably love it.
5.What is the best date you have ever been on? For our second date, DH accidentally took me to nursing home, which was certainly the funniest date if not the best. To be fair, he didn't realize the venue was a nursing home and he was under the mistaken impression that it was a performance of Mozart's Requiem. It was actually a talkback about Mozart's Requiem and then an inexplicable performance of excerpts from Le Nozze di Figaro.
6. Anyone reading any blogs that they would recommend (could be TTC related but doesn't have to be)? I like Refashionista, but she doesn't post much. I also liked Young House Love, but they've stopped posting.

When is your IUI scheduled for?
Did the trigger shot tonight, and with all that worrying, it was nothing! My only concern was how much liquid in it. There was less than 1 ml (not sure if that is the correct term, it didn'the go to the 1 on there syrengine). Is that right? It doesn'the seem like much.
Bai-by2016 hows the TWW wait so far? And the pineapple core? I haven't done it but a lot of people swear by it.
I had my follie check this morning. After 5 days of clomid and 2 Gonal-F shots, I have a 13 and a 14. Have to wait for the nurse to call and see what next steps are. I'm really hopeful that it wont fall on the weekend because that would be very hard for us. We'd have to go to the downtown Chicago office and with a lot of other stuff going on this weekend, and DH not to keen on doing a sample in the office, it might make it difficult.

Also, we haven't made a final decision about IVF, but I'm leaning toward no. It's just a lot; I was already very put off by how unnatural this whole process feels, and I just don't know that I can do any more doctors and procedures and hormones. I don't feel like I've been fully myself since we started treatments, and I just don't know if I can take that extra step. That said, we're only on cycle #2. I also have to account for DH's feelings, of course, and I think he'd want to push forward, the thing is, he really has just zero empathy for how hard this is on my body, and that's what would stop me.

@Bai-by2016 We're IUI Buddies! Maybe we even saw each other Saturday and didn't even know. Lol. I also have PCOS. I have my monthly AF without any meds, but I don't ovulate without meds. My Co Worker's Wife told me to try Cinnamon with Chromium. She has PCOS and after taking it for 1 month she became pregnant. If this cycle doesn't work then I might try that as well.
