@csukkha good luck mama, we are all thinking of you!
@yellowrose314 jeez, just when you think the crazy is over...the story is entertaining, for what it's worth, but man, I'm glad they'll be evicted so you won't have to deal with them much longer! Yikes!
FWIW I think everyone's weighed in already, but I agree that changing randoms to a weekly thread isn't the answer. We are all active on here and we will still have pages to catch up on no matter what. I like having one instead of possibly a few on the main page.
Also, I agree, keep the birth announcements thread and if people choose to add another separate birth thread, perfect! I would love to comment on people's images and stories so I definitely welcome them when people are ready.
@csukkha Good luck! Fingers crossed for a smooth delivery!
@yellowrose314 Holy bejeezus that lady is nuts! Hopefully the eviction process is quick and you guys don't have to deal with the drama anymore! That is just insane!
Pretty much everything is ready for Alice Ruth but the nesting is still going strong over here. I went into the fridge to grab a bottle of water earlier and somehow ended up spending an hour on my hands and knees scrubbing the entire inside of the fridge to the bone, WTH?
So having a best friend who is a pastry chef for a local bakery really pays off. Doing my best to save one for tomorrow...Love when she stops by after work with yummy surprises!
@MrsVoorhees Me, too. At least 10 things! Some I already have planned to go in the snack bag. Some DH knows he will have to go and get himself if no one else can. Others I think I'll probably won't actually want once I'm not pregnant anymore (like 7 pb&j sandwiches... seriously, I want to want to eat 7 pb&j sandwiches in one sitting).
& @Megan324 Um, would a bottle of champagne be an unacceptable first meal?? Yes? Shit...I guess I'll probably stick to a giant Italian sub, sushi or all the Brie and/or Goat cheese and prosciutto I can shove in my face.
Anyone who is advocating for monthly randoms has obviously not faced the problem where get logged out and have to flip through the pages like three at a time to get to where you were.
I just said "No, I'm not." And let it hang there. How are people so rude?
The other day I was looking at pics of myself from last time and I look a full 3 weeks further behind than this time last pregnancy. I was feeling good about myself. Confidence dashed.
Knock on wood, but that hasn't happened to me in weeks @KimmySchmidt but it's annoying for more than just the randoms thread when it does happen. Argh!
@KimmySchmidt I have this happen ALL THE TIME and it's the most frustrating. I *think* I may have figured out how to fix it (for me at least) I don't even try to click on the threads, I go to the more>community and click login. I do the login, back out and go back to the group and hallelujah, it works again, and puts me in the right spot. ETA: just a suggestion, not trying to convince you either way on the frequency of random threads

Totally random, but my 8-year old is trying out for a competitive baseball team tonight and I think the nerves are going to send me straight into labor. I know that learning to live with disappointment is a part of growing up, but his disappointments are like 500 times harder for me! Please keep your fingers crossed for my babes. He's such a good kid.
Ahh just caught up from being in town for appointments all day. SO many thing to tag, but want to say @csukkha thinking of you! FX for smooth delivery!
We had a growth scan today. Baby is 4 lbs 11 oz (measuring like half a week behind, but whatever). I asked the OB "so at what week would you not try to stop labour if I came in?" and he said "week 34, sooo now!" H and I looked at each other with terrified excitement. I always thought it was 37 weeks?!
@RG1 it's 34 weeks for me too! I guess some doctors are later
Yeah, I just learned this the other day from Megan! I always thought it was 37, maaaaybe 36, at least that's what my OB does, but apparently some doctors say 34. Makes it scary and exciting at the same time!
@RG1 that's so crazy! I believe my doc is after 36 weeks for trying to stop labour.
@Ssoccerball good luck to your little guy! Disappointment can definitely be so much harder for the mama!
Thanks to everyone for the support yesterday. I had a really low point, and I am so thankful to have you all! I had my first steroid shot (in my butt ) today, I started my BP meds last night, and my BPs were in the normal range today (woohoooo!) let's hope it continues, and we can get to 37 (at least).
@yellowrose314 that is the STRANGEST situation with the cat. I really hope that lady gets the help she needs.

so we are cool with randos posting individual birth stories and clogging up the board/bumping regs' birth stories down the page?
Wow, we really are the nicest board on this forum...
To be fair, I think the regs' birth stories will keep getting bumped up with congrats and push the rando posts down.
I'm for being okay with rando posts because I'm with whoever said that I don't want some of the active people on the board to question if they are "regular" enough to share. I've seen quite a few people that I recognize and would like to hear their birth stories worry on some of the other threads that they don't contribute enough to be considered a reg.
@csukkha Good luck! Hope it's a quick and smooth delivery!
@yellowrose314 Geeze. I'm sorry it ended up going down so dramatically. I feel bad for the neighbor because she clearly needs help, and her dad needs to do something other than try to buy your cat (I can't imagine being in his situation so I'm not judging him, but there has to be another option). Hope this is the end of all of this for you and they move out asap.
So I was talking to this woman and I mentioned how baby girl has the hiccups almost everyday and sometimes more then once a day. She told me I should mention it to my doctor because it could be a sign of distress or a cord problem. Has anyone heard of that? I'm a little freaked out by the statement just because of what happened to my cousin and his baby.
I thought hiccups were a good sign and a sign that the lungs are maturing

Not sure if that's true or not but my baby has the hiccups a lot, sometimes daily and she got a clean bill of health today
Ugh, I'm seriousy confused and trying to figure out what to do... I mentioned I've had a pretty bad headache with floaters for four days now (ETA: which I've bad before, for 10 days straight, ten weeks ago). Well, yesterday, baby girl had a slow day but still enough kicks to "be safe" when I counted. Today is day two of her being lazy and she's actually moving less. She's had one slow day before and I had an NST that was fine so I'm not sure if I need to go to L&D or page my OB or just wait this out... any advice?
@AmMcc12 my right leg goes numb all the time. It happens at different times depending on how I am sitting, laying or standing. I mentioned it to my doctor but she didn't seem concerned. I do see a chiropractor but the numbness hasn't stopped. If I change positions or sit after standing it usually goes away.

@seitzy3 I think that's an old wives tale! My grandma told me that they used to tell pregnant women not to raise your arms above your head because the cord would wrap around the baby's neck. And for the record, DD1 had hiccups many, many times a day before and after birth and she's perfect
@seitzy3 I've always read and heard what you have... that it is a good sign and means baby is practicing breathing. Both of my girls have or had hiccups a lot. McKenna continued on to get hiccups a lot as a newborn.
@AlwaysAuntNeverMom I would call! I'm an err on the side of caution peraon. Hope you feel better soon and all is well!
Thanks to everyone that responded. I wouldn't Google @Megan324 it will just freak you out like everything else on the Internet.
I also mentioned it to the tech while she was doing my BPP on Monday and she said it's a great sign. Just wondering if anyone heard that before. I was just totally taken back by her comment, like I need another thing to stress about
@AmMcc12 you're probably right. I never can determine what should or shouldn't get its own thread.
@seitzy3 hmmmm that's so bizarre. In my eyes it's baby practicing swallowing and digesting. It does sound like a tall tale to me. LO has hiccups very frequently (sometimes 2x/day). I'll also mention it to my doc on Mondays appt.
