I hate reviewing resumes. 40+ resumes for 1 job....and I have 2 days to do it otherwise there's not enough time to schedule interviews. Ick. Bye bye real job duties until this hiring mess is done in 14 days.
@caseyewhitaker We have two bedrooms and we never used the second one, so that was where the box was originally. That quickly became a problem because we never went in there and it wouldn't get changed as frequently as it should have, plus litter got basically embedded in our carpet. We moved it to the bathroom and it was easy to sweep and we could always see when it needed to be changed.
DH is stuck at work overnight again. He's had to stay 3 times in the past 2 weeks due to bay doors breaking. My crazy, irrational pregnancy hormones have me questioning if he's really having to stay for that reason. I honestly have no reason to think he is or would cheat on me, but my crazy pregnancy hormones make me think the worst every time. I must figure out how to make those thoughts go away.
Yesterday I was at a local bookstore, and I had to pee for 500th time. As I walked in, there was a lady walking in front of me, and she kept turning around to look at me. I peed, was washing my hands, and I noticed she was looking at me as I washed my hands. I finally made eye contact with her and she blurted out,
"Are you famous?"
I said, "If I am, I'm not aware of it, haha."
"You look like someone famous!" She didn't specify who I looked like, so I just said
@dmontgo you should have looked at her over your sunglasses (I'm assuming you were wearing them in this scenario) and said something like "only in Japan" and continued to wash your hands.
@karmba You know what is so funny? I lived in Korea when the first Harry Potter movie came out, and at the time I had long hair (I'm a redhead). I was walking around with friends, and some random Korean girl thought I was the actress that played Ginny Weasley. She started squealing and asking for an autograph, and then other people started following. I had to hop on the subway to escape.
Thanks ladies. I'll be talking with him tonight. Like I said, I honestly have no reason to believe he would cheat, just crazy hormones and my personal insecurity right now.
Does anyone remember Sugargirl from early in the board? I think she had a miscarriage somewhat early on. I just wanted to let you guys know that she's over in March 2017 (yay!) but dealing with a subchorionic hemorrhage. If any D16ers want to hop over there to give her love, that might be nice. ETA: It's July and I'm still getting the year wrong.

You know when you wake up sore and at first you're all pleased with yourself for the workout you did and then you realize you hadn't worked out and you're just sore because you're getting older and sleeping at night is a workout in itself and you experience a disappointment like no other? Yea, that's me today.
My best friend gave me an awesome self-care basket at my baby shower last weekend--I appreciated it so much! I'm going to a baby shower later this month and wanted to do something similar for my friend, but maybe with a few more mom essentials. She's a STM.
STMs, what are some things you'd appreciate in a self-care basket? I'm planning on having some bubble bath, candles, snacks, and maybe some fuzzy socks. What mom-specific items should I include?
@dmontgo, Mani/Pedi kit, nail paint, maybe babysitting coupon? Or I, personally, love flavored chapsticks. Preferably the ones that have the lids that can hook onto a key ring. Otherwise, I can never keep track of them.

@Kate08Young Great suggestions! I have to have flavored chopsticks (I really like EOS) or it feels like my lips are going to fall off. >.> Didn't think about the babysitting coupon--thanks!
Exciting day. Had our anatomy scan (a healthy boy!) and had our lease application accepted for a house we really wanted. So much stress released in one day!
@dmontgo That is so thoughtful of you! Personally, I always give my mom and sisters beauty/body care stuff for Christmas, and I love giving nail polish, face masks, candy, small bottles of bubble bath, lotion. It's mostly little stuff but my mom this past year told me that she loved the face masks and wanted to know where she could get more. My sister still repurchases the lotion I bought her two or three years ago. When I see them buy stuff I gave them for themselves, that's how I know it was a good present. Also as an STM she may appreciate some kind of body oil/belly butter if there's one she already really likes.
@ashleaf2018 I love face masks! There were some awesome coconut masks in my basket...totally used one tonight! I love giving gifts--it's my love language! Thanks for the awesome ideas!
Visiting the in laws right now. They are convinced the ultrasound tech got the sex wrong which is kind of cute to me. So they'll get their surprise when DD is born. Our DS was total hell on the flight. 16 months may be the worst time for flying.
That moment you freak out because usually baby is super active and today for some reason is not, so you drink some sweet tea to try and get them going. Now I have a baby bouncing off the walls of my uterus. I guess I deserved that...

Kick counts are a serious stress for me, just because l wouldn't get on a schedule. So one day at 3 he was practicing M.A.s and the next day I think he died. It's ridiculous.

Ladies if you could please say a little pray for my friend that would be great. She gave birth in June and was rushed to the hospital today after loosing feeling in her feet hands and mouth. No idea if it has anything to do with the healing of her c-section or the birth. We're all still waiting to hear what's going on so your thoughts would be appreciated!
Tell me if I'm way off here, but the baby dressing rule of thumb is one more layer than you would wear, right? We got our going home outfit. Little sweat pants, t shirt, and a little flannel button up. We're in California so winter is maybe high 50's low 60's. My mom is convinced we're overheating our baby. She says he doesn't need any long sleeves. I know I generally run cold, but I'd be freezing if you took away my jackets in December!

That's the rule of thumb. Some people don't follow it very well. Like me, I sweat at 85, so I never know if L is too hot or not, so at home he is just in his diaper.

I'm in AZ and our going home outfit is a short sleeve on onsie, pants, and a sweatshirt. Just don't blast the heat in the car on your way home. If it's a super long drive home, sit back there or occasionally turn to check to make sure baby is not sweating a ton. But I'm thinking it'll be high 60s or 70ish and she's wearing the cute sweatshirt!
I had a may baby in 100 degree heat...she was sweaty the second we walked outside...I'm sure she was hot for the 8 minute drive home...but she was fine.
But yes, general rule of thumb is one extra layer. But all babies are different. DD runs hot and we figured that out in the first few weeks. Right now I'm in long sleeves, pants, and under a blanket (we have awesome ac)...she's in a diaper and is pretty much sweating right now.
@sourlemon We probably have a whopping 10 minute drive home from the hospital. With no vents in the backseat. I figured they'd be fine. I think my mom's just crazy. She does set her A/C to 68 degrees in the summer...
I think our dogs have collectively decided to help us prepare for children. They are needier, bark more at night and during the day, keep us up, wake us up in the A.M. long before we want to be up, etc.
Last night at 3am my littlest dog had a blow out in her crate. Much disgusting smell, much crying and gnashing of teeth, much hosing her off in the sink, husband spraying out her crate in the back yard. Crate is now drying in the garage with a giant fan. We are all slightly moist now and a little irritable. I lit a candle and sprayed some air neutralizer. We have all agreed that everything is now back as it should be, but also all a little war worn. All I could think about as we were "hazmatting" was this is going to be you and baby+dogs soon. Never a dull moment.
Help- So- Sausage (the food ) during pregnancy is fine right?? Especially if I'm cooking it myself and can make sure it's totally cooked??? I'm totally blanking on it, but craving biscuits and gravy.....
@Toller02 Sure hope sausage is ok because I've been eating a ton of it! I just make sure to buy the mind with no extra nitrates and cook it fully. I can't think of anything that sould be wrong with it.
Re: Randoms 7.25
Hormones are the worst.

I said, "If I am, I'm not aware of it, haha."

"Well, hopefully they're not ugly. See ya!"
Awkward turtle. >.>
