I am really patting myself on the back here guys. Listen up.

A few months back I told my FitBit that my goal was to gain 30 pounds, starting from when I found out I was pregnant.  Now whenever my FitBit application loads my weights from my FitBit scale I get a star for the day! And it says "WooHoo! You met your goal!"  It's so proud of me for gaining those 30 pounds. bahahaha, pure genius on my part, pure pure genius :)  Thanks FitBit, it was hard work but I somehow persevered and reached my 30 pound goal, and I did it EARLY at that! YES!!
I totally did this too! I am glad I'm not the only one. Currently it's like "___ more pounds and this goal is in the bag!" Haha! However, the scale currently thinks I'm my husband and I have to load the app and assign the weigh in to me every time. It used to let me choose on the scale but now it doesn't. Not sure why!

  • So I dreamed that I was kidnapped for years and rescued at the OB's office by my dad, who was the chief of police. I wonder what thought process prompted that dream.

  • This NYTimes post will bring you directly to his segment on The Late Show, along with the transcript, which I enjoyed reading after to reiterate some of the points that I was so into.  I think the whole show is probably up on YouTube if you want to watch it full screen.

  • Time has flown by for me since the end of the first tri. Getting through it was a drag because I was desperate to be past 3 months. After that, it's like I blinked and here I am at 33 weeks! I'm thinking the excitement and discomfort might make it drag in the last few weeks. Hopefully not, though!

@megan324 I only look on the app at threads that have pictures because I can't handle them on the computer haha. Everyone apologized on HDBD for posting mobile and I always wonder, does anyone actually email themselves a picture and post it non-mobiley?

  • @AlwaysAuntNeverMom - Poor lady! Her little girl is in for some surprises during her moms pregnancy, I'm sure! I'm seriously surprised my kids haven't gotten there yet with the sass due to my hormones. I mean, who could really blame them? Instead though they've been unbelievably understanding and sweet. <3

  • @UnwritteN12 at this point the jail time might be worth it.  He is really on my last nerve.  At least I would get a break!

  • @UnwritteN12 - I really love that the nativity scene has still been out... and that it took you getting a little extra sleep to notice it!
Also, some commiseration - I initiated some sexy time one night this past week, but then there was dawdling, not knowing what position would work, certain ones I didn't feel like trying etc, and totally lost the mood multiple times. Finally we pushed through and got the job done because I feared that I'd be really turned off from trying again if it ended without ever happening.. still not sure it inspired much future happenings though.

  • @SLou24 - glad to have you back.. again. hahahaha.  I think I had a weight loss goal in my fitbit, because it was that Thanksgiving/Christmas period where I struggle to gain less than 10 pounds on amazing food and lazy feelings. So when I started gaining with pregnancy and was further and further from my goal I was like.. F that! I'm aiming to GAIN!  I'm glad it doesn't tell me how far past my goal I've gone, since I'll probably overshoot by 10 pounds.

  • That is so still so weird @SLou24 but "welcome" back! During my insomnia last night I was lurking November '16 and apparently some of them got randomly banned a while back and their board decided to do a private group instead, hence their actual BMB is sparse. Maybe they too were wrongfully banned?
  • @mamadomino - You make an excellent point about getting a break!

@AnnaS930 - Totally fair why you pushed through! DH has been so patient with me (concerning everything throughout this pregnancy!) but that poor man really got his hopes up last night. Ugh.
Also, your FitBit is amazing, btw!!

I'll add to the commiseration for both of you... the last three sexy time attempts, I totally want it before we start then I just can't get into it. One time we ended up not having sex at all, and the other two we powered through it. Then positioning has gotten unbelievable hard, and my hips and pelvis kills the whole next day. It ended up being satisfying, but was it worth a days worth of pain? We had sex up until McKenna was born. I can't stand the thought of not doing it for 12+ weeks (with recovery time thrown in), but I'm also not feeling positive about our remaining pregnant encounters.

ETA: The nativity scene thing made me laugh, and I hope it ultimately did you, too, @UnwritteN12 .

  • @camichael84 - we basically had zero sexy time all of last pregnancy until my due date came and went, then we went for it every night. It was a fun final hurrah before the recovery time, but it also felt like trying to conceive in that it was a bit forced on both of our parts.
We'll see how things go this time around, we've only had sex a handful of times this whole pregnancy, hoping to get in a few more over the next few weeks and who knows when baby will come/if we'll be indulging in trying to assist his arrival.

@AnnaS930 I know it got harder and I was less into it by the end of my pregnancy with McKenna, but it wasn't this bad even at 39 weeks. I'll admit our later sexy times were with the hope it'd stimulate natural labor before my induction. Will probably go for it for that reason this time as well.

ETA: I feel bad for my husband for all of this because he tries so hard to get/keep me in the mood. I'm worried he takes it personally that I'm not as into it as usual, but it's not him at all.

  • I feel so bad for DH. He works for a power company (sort of) and there have been a lot of storms in his work territory this past week, which means he's had to work late yesterday, and then cancel his planned day off to go into the office today, and will likely have to work tomorrow and possibly Sunday, too. This weekend is a huge family camp out that DH freaking LOVES and is actually "hosting" this year. He's been looking forward to this event for an entire year and it's basically getting crushed on because of his job :(. We've also had some unfortunate events happen at home (leaky garage roof, my car AC broke, etc) and he's been handling it all like a champ so I don't have to, and I just wish I could somehow make it all better and easier for him!
  • @camichael84 - same goes for my husband. He was really trying the other night, but seemed like everything he did was wrong. I kept feeling tickled which just made me laugh and squirm and completely removed me from the sexy-mindset and he was super understanding and assured me that it was not a big deal if it didn't work out and we could just snuggle but I'm happy we pushed through.  He never complains during pregnancies (or even non-pregnancies) if we go a while without sex... I feel guilty about it in my brain, but I'm not great at faking it until I make it.

  • @PoodleDoodleOoo That stinks for your husband.  :(  It's never fun when life throws curveballs that get in the way of something you're really looking forward to!  Will you still get to go on the trip?  Or will you be staying home, too, out of solidarity?

  • @JennM205 DH is still going - the camp out is (luckily) about 30 minutes from his office this year so he'll go after he wraps up for the day, but he'll be missing most of the fun planned activities. I'll be joining him tomorrow, though to be honest, the camp out is not my favorite thing - I actually kind of hate it - but I go because he loves it and I love him.
  • @PoodleDoodleOoo Well at least it sounds like a happy medium though I'm sure it'd be much nicer if he just got to relax and let loose for the weekend!

  • Advice needed - My cousin is getting married tomorrow.  The entire event is outdoors / in a barn that's not temperature controlled.  It's supposed to be 93 degrees, not including humidity or heat index and there are heat advisories in effect.  I was originally told that the bridesmaids' dressing rooms would be air conditioned if I needed a break but just found out that is not the case - the only air conditioning will be in the bathroom trailer.  (Not sure what that consists of, exactly.)

DH thinks we shouldn't go.  But he never wants to go to anything so it's hard to gauge whether or not he's being wise or just lazy, haha.  Others (not my family) have mentioned the same...they're shocked when we say we're going to an outdoor wedding tomorrow.  My family, on the other hand, is like, "No big deal!!"

What would you do?  I can't decide if I should go, dress as lightly as possible, drink a TON of water, sit in the bathroom when needed and probably leave early...  Or if it's just too risky and I should stay home.  (In case it matters, this wedding is about 2 hours from home so not somewhere I can make an appearance and then just go back home.)
