I was looking for the same thing @drmh22  but I have a 2yo boy and a soon to be daughter (that is weird to say but so exciting!) anyone have any suggestions for this?
Ahh man that seems like a toughie. Sure enough there should be something out there considering there are boy/girl twins who I've seen matching before. I know for special occasion outfits, Janie and jack have adorable coordinating outfits. They aren't the cheapest clothes though :/

@seitzy3 I just came back to add Old Navy. I always forget about them for some reason, even though they're awesome!
  • Me too! @drmh22 even though I just bought a bunch of matching dresses for the girls before this vacation haha. But yeah they have a ton of stuff!

Ok, so I consider myself a pretty regular/faithful Amazon shopper... When the hell did they start their own brand on items (Amazonbasics)??? Have I been living underneath a boulder?!!!

i noticed this tonight as I'm shopping for a new birthing ball and it had their logo on it.
  • There is a high likelihood that my husband is not going to survive this pregnancy.  HIGH.

  • @mamadomino oh no lol what did he do??

  • @Megan324 he's just being a straight up butt head and I'm out of patience for it.  We were supposed to have a conversation after our son went to bed tonight about a whole bunch of logistical stuff that needs to get figured out and instead he went to bed.  And moved a bunch of stuff that was on the bed because we shuffled around our dressers and just threw it all over the floor for me to trip over when I get up in the middle of the night.  I need to rest and he keeps saying he understands that but really needs to get his shit together.  Really, it's a little bit of everything and I'm just out of patience with him.

  • @mamadomino oh man! That's so annoying.  I know my FI always says "we have so much time to figure things out" but like not really any more! Time is a ticking.

Re homemade baby food: not only was it easy make a ton at once and freeze (steamed or baked my fruit/veggie then threw it in the blender), it was tastier (and prettier) than jar food. As mentioned before, jar was still great for traveling,

Re matching clothes... Carters makes infant clothes in NB-24 month. I've picked up a couple matching outfits there. Also, totally getting these for newborn pics:

My random... today was the first time I've taken McKenna with me by myself to a prenatal appointment. On the way there I started freaking out about how I was going to leave the urine sample with her in tow (in her stroller). Thank God for handicap stalls.

  • @lovelylauren86 omg want. I have been obsessed with cherries!!!!!
  • @drmh22 those are so cute! I find Carters is the best because they carry the widest range in clothing. My girls are 5 years apart, and I can find the same outfits for them in their sizes.

@seitzy3 I am both appalled and impressed simultaneously. Appalled because strangers touching bellies are weird... and impressed that you're still rocking a bikini!

I've found a couple matching little bro/big bro stuff at target that was carter's brand. Our carter's outlet also has outfits spanning newborn-18 months, sometimes 2t.

Last night emmett really favored my husband. It put me into a funk for the time he was awake and for a good hour after. This morning I'm trying to see the silver lining that my husband is awesome with him and it will be helpful for little man to find comfort in him when little bro arrives. I did have to tell my husband to stop telling our son to go to me though. He'd say "why don't you bring this book to mama instead?" And e would just say "noooooo!" And bury his head into matt. Breaking my heart, kid!

Edited to Add: Kiddo only wanted mama this morning. Toddlers, I tell ya!  Finicky little creatures.

  • We were supposed to go Tommy cousins wedding 5 hours away on DD's birthday next month. I was standing up in it, but it was very recently and dramatically cancelled. (I don't know the whole story and probably never will.)

So now I'm like "shit, guess I have to throw together a birthday party for a two year old!" Especially since the date itself falls on a Saturday.

  • Anyone see the photos of Prince George that were just released for his third birthday? (Adorable.) Do you think he acts like a threenager? Or does the royal blood combined with Kate Middleton's fabulousness not allow for toddler shenanigans?
Just googled.. Adorable for sure.. but I see a LOT of mischief in those eyes.  He undoubtedly acts like a threenager, or soon will! The real question is how much do Kate and William actually parent?  Do they deal with the threenager outbursts, or does a nanny (or multiple) rush in and swoop him away when the tantrums come?

  • @AnnaS930 I like to think they handle it all themselves. I just adore William and Kate
  • I'm really not a fan of the royal family (I have nothing against them, just don't care for them either).  I'll assume, like I do with most/all celebrities, that they have an absurd amount of help and no true concept of what parenting is.  I think I'm feeling a little crabby this morning... hahaha

  • FYI water tables are disgusting! Just went to clean ours and turned it on its side and green slime oozed out! Puke!!! Apparently the legs and base fill with water also so just draining the top part every day doesn't keep it clean!
  • @PSUBecky23 the following their older sibling's lead is never far from my mind. Which means I have less than 3 weeks left. Cue panic lately. Nothing is done!!

  • I'm not convinced I'm going to make it until September with my sanity intact. Whoever says that global warming isn't a thing needs to get shot. It is supposed to be an average of 85 for the foreseeable future. That sounds delightful except for the fact that one of my jobs and my apartment have no air conditioning and for some awful reason, the temperatures isn't dropping at night like it normally does so we can't even cool down our room with a fan in the window. I haven't slept well or enough in the last week and even with three fans creating a vortex of air, it is just pushing hot air around... And since we are short people at one job, I get the joy of working 6 days this week...
  • Ladies, I have a dilemma on my hands. I have the day off as my baby shower is tomorrow. I am supposed to go to my mom's house today because it is her birthday and my family is in town. My sister just texted me to give me a heads up that my 8 year old niece who is staying at my mom's seems to have caught a bug. :( She threw up this morning but seems to be better these past couple of hours she said. She plans on keeping her and her daughter isolated from the party so I can still come but wanted me to be informed before I made the choice to go or not. My boss's daughter and someone from work both ended up in the ER this week from throwing up so I know something is going around. And my sister took her to Jungle Java's yesterday which is like a petri dish for diseases in my opinion lol.

What should I do? I had my flu shot but I feel the need to protect my baby and not knowingly put myself at risk. But I feel bad about possibly not going since it is my mom's bday and my mom and sis are throwing me a large shower at a hall tomorrow. I don't want to seem ungrateful but I also really don't want to get sick and possibly harm the baby (or miss my shower)! What would you do? My sister is normally super smart about this stuff so the fact that she thinks I would be ok still going and avoiding them makes me wonder if she is right....but she doesn't know EVERYTHING despite the fact that she thinks she does. :)

  • @blondie080300 - I'd probably still go. Your sister sounds really considerate, I'm sure she's told her daughter not to get too close to Auntie Blondie... but that's just me. I'm not overly cautious.  Also, kids throw up an awful lot, could just have been nauseous from something she ate/the heat/whatever.  Any chance you can head that way for dinner time? Give the kiddo a chance to feel a bit better even and limit the overall time spent?

@blondie080300 TBH, I wouldn't worry about it so much. It's always best to avoid sick people like the plague while pregnant but if you take precautions with hand washing and sanitizing and keeping your distance, I think you should be fine. It sounds like your sister is being careful too. It's a personal choice, though, and I'd do what you feel is best.

  • @blondie080300 I'm in the "I'd still go" camp.  As @AnnaS930 mentioned, kids throw up randomly all the time.  It could be a bug or it could be nothing.  Even if it is a bug, if you keep your distance and wash your hands, etc, you'd probably be fine.  All that being said, if you are terribly uncomfortable (like you'd be sitting there aching for the moment it would appropriate to get the heck out and go home to shower) then it's not worth the stress.  Only you can decide when it comes to your own comfort level and I think your family would (should!) understand no matter what your decision is.

  • @rock1cherry - I'm glad I'm not the only one that gets frustrated by it. And you're right, you absolutely can't blame the kids. I just really wish people would realize that it effects the entire team when your kid isn't there.

@mamadomino - I'm sorry. I get it though. Some days you really have to wonder....is jail time worth it....?  ;)

My co-worker just asked what we were doing with the kids when I have the babies. *audible groan* "My in-laws are coming down." Cue laughter from her. She walks over to me and says "You sound about as enthusiastic about that as I was to talk to my doctor about a colonoscopy!" I told her "I'd probably be more enthusiastic about the colonoscopy...."

Don't leave me hanging@AlwasAuntNeverMom! :) I think your message got cut off.

Thanks for the rest of the comments, ladies! I have until about 3pm to decide. I guess I will still go like you said if she hasn't gotten sick again and will just wash my hands a lot.

Edited because I can see your message now @AlwaysAuntNeverMom . :) Thanks!
