  • @AnnaS930 Glad your weekend was nice! DH and I had a pretty good one too! But now it's Monday. Rawr. I work from home, which sounds beautifully beautiful (and the majority of the time, it is) but it gets kind of lonely, so when DH goes off to the office after a weekend of him being constantly around I feel all isolated, so Mondays still stink for me.

It IS nuts to think about how many weeks we have left. I was thinking the other day how I'm going to have to start being on my toes in 7 weeks. I didn't realize that a full-term baby is anywhere between 38 and 42 weeks and that's this HUGE window of time when I'm going to be hyper aware of every twinge, phone on the ready!

My due date is right on the cusp of the summer/autumn changeover so I'm constantly wondering to myself if I'm going to have a Summer baby or an Autumn baby!

Very excited for all of us. :)

  • I've been reading this thread to keep up over the weekend, but haven't been able to comment.

@marikkita112 I'm so glad you're back! Can't believe these bans. Hopefully Slou is back soon, too!

I'm also surprised and not surprised to see a birth announcement. I have been thinking that we've made it pretty far without any births so far. But also, how are we this close already!?

  • Do you guys remember the guy I posted about in TW Tuesday that I absolutely loathe, that cc's himself on emails and also said that he thinks I've been avoiding his calls and he's not sure if I'm having to go to doctors appointments all the time because of my "condition"? Well guess what!? He's moving to our group and will be on my team now! Oh, happy day!
  • @MrsVoorhees - Sorry for you, but happy for us!  Seriously love your coworkers.

  • @alwaysauntnevermom so true and such a good attitude. Car seat, place to sleep, clothes, diapers/wipes, bottles (if not BFing) and you're good. So many people freaking out over getting baby's room done and I'm all, uhhh, our crib is in pieces and I just took the cover off the car seat to wash it. (I picture myself actually washing the cover while in labor.)

  • @PSUBecky23 check, check, check and check! We have a bunch of stuff leftover in our registry and I'm just going to trim it down now since it really feels like we have the necessities. She'll sleep in the PnP in our room in the first few months anyway.

  • @AnnaS930 - Awww! I'm glad he enjoyed it. :) And I fully agree, I don't think they necessarily care what they're playing with (especially at that age). Robert enjoyed playing with babydolls before Elleanore did and still loves to play with her when she plays with her dollhouse.

  • @AlwaysAuntNeverMom - if your registry is from a store with a good return policy, you can even leave it on there. We got some superfluous stuff that we held onto for a month after birth, then made a huge return/exchange trip and got rid of the stuff that we realized we really didn't need to pick up things that we did

What!? What thread? I've been really bad at keeping up.

also, I always assume people are talking about me...anyone else?

@AlwaysAuntNeverMom I am currently going through our registry to delete the stuff we don't actually need and its very exciting, haha. SIL got us a comb/brush, and nose aspirator for our shower, and I realized the "health care and grooming kit" we had on the registry ($24) has that, plus nail clippers and thermometer. Well, we already have a thermometer, so I'm not going to get the kit now cause I just need clippers. Bonus!

ETA: @MrsVoorhees haha I don't get paranoid people are talking about me, but that might be because IDGAF if they are

I'm stuck in some in-between world of craving more drama on this board, then absolutely hating it/avoiding it/wishing it would end when it pops up. Just can't win...
Lol me too!!!! I'm so awkward when people are fighting. I do photography on the side and there's one family that the parents fight the entire time, every session. And while I love telling the stories after, I am SO awkward in the moment.
  • @camichael84 LOL I am so the same way!

Secretly it's because I used to steal a lot when I was in high school and I feel guilty about it now but I always think that some karma is going to hit me and I'll be wrongly accused or something
    Pregnancy Ticker
  • @Megan324 I've never stole anything except for a piece of candy when I was probably 5. I'm just naturally paranoid. Haha. Likewise, when I first started working and buying things with my own cash, I'd be irrationally worried that I'd not have enough money when I went to check out. Despite triple checking the cash in my wallet and the prices of items being bought.

  • @camichael84 me too!!! I always make it really obvious if I need to grab my phone so people don't think I'm stealing.
  • So my mother is looking for excuses to come a few days over two weeks before my due date and stay for two weeks to see baby. Her reasoning? Baby will probably come four weeks early because she's "sure she's already 7lbs because I look so big".  Yeah, 32 weeks over here but thanks for the kind comment.

I've been pretty MIA this weekend but wanted to post a comment asking for thoughts and prayers.  I went into preterm labor yesterday at 32w6d.  To attempt to get the contractions to stop they gave me trubuteline (spelling?!). My body did not respond well to it and my blood pressure dropped, my heart rate skyrocketed, and the machine went silent as we couldn't find baby's heart rate either. I went in and out of concouseness. Dr's and nurses swarmed me and were flipping me around trying to get me in a better position to find baby's heartrate again.
After what felt like an eternity, they found baby, gave me oxygen, fluids, etc and we both stabilized.
They did an EKG and then put me on a different medicine to stop the contractions which was procardia. I will be taking this twice a day until week 36.
The procardia seems to be working and I am home now but only because I live just a few blocks from the hospital... I'm suppose to go in if anything happens again.

I have never been so scared in all my life.  They gave me the shot and we never thought I'd react that way so Dh left to go get food. I was all alone. Dh walked in towards the end and I could tell he felt terrible for not being there for us.

Please just keep keep me and babygirl in your thoughts and prayers.
  • @reesaXden come on pregnancy, it's time for you to get a break :( I'm sorry this happened!! Did they do a steroid shot? My nephew was born at 34 weeks with no issues, and we think the steroid shot had a lot to do with him not needing oxygen.

@reesaXden Oh my gosh I'm so sorry to hear about such a scary experience! I will be thinking about you and hope you start to feel better soon. I hope your husband doesn't feel too badly - there is no way to know you would have reacted that way.

  • Oh @reesaXden how scary! Praying for you and baby girl.
  • @reesaXden - Wow. I'm so sorry you had to go through that! Sending thoughts, prayers and good juju your way! Hoping that your LO stays put and you continue to do well. I can't even imagine. Take it easy (easier said than done with having a LO running around, I know) and take care of yourself! <3

  • @reesaXden how scary! I can't imagine how you felt (and how your H felt) and the uncertainty now. I'll be praying for you and for your little girl. I know you've already struggled so much with this pregnancy so I hope you can have the most boring, uneventful four weeks of your pregnancy. Keep us posted!
