37 weeks today and I just now started sorting and washing baby clothes. I also cleaned the kids' room..... again. Maybe it will stay "clean" till baby comes..... wishful thinking. My Still to do list is so much longer: Install car seat Buy bassinet and find sheets I have stored for it Finish my dresser for my room that we use as changing table Locate and Wash bouncy seat and swing covers Pack bags for everyone
Oh crap, I haven't wrote out my to do list before! So much to do and not enough motivation, time, or energy to do it!
I don't know if this has been mentioned already, but... It's national ice cream day! Carvel is having buy one get one free, so since there's only 3 in our family right now, I took it as an excuse to get one for now and one for later
My nesting phase is over. We have so much stuff to go through from the shower and I just keep staring at it.
I was wondering how you moms organize baby clothes? Do you hang them all up? Put them in a dresser? Or maybe just hang the more dressy stuff and put sleepers/onesies in the dresser? Clearly I am overthinking this.

10/2017: Twins confirmed with TTTS at 22 weeks. 10/10/17 Twin B passed after in utero placenta surgery 11/2/17 Twin A & B born 11/26/17: Twin A passed after 24 days fighting in the NICU Benched 6 months BFP: 6/28/18 MC:7/16/18 BO BFP: 10/2/18 EDD 6/15/18
@midwestbaby I hang outfits that have more than one piece, and put everything else in drawers. It worked well for my first two kids and it's how I set up for this one too laundry is complicated enough, don't make more work for yourself than its worth!
@midwestbaby I hung up all the newborn and 0-3 month stuff and put everything else in drawers. That might change though when we start actually using the clothes but that was just my instinct.
@midwestbaby I have the same questions about clothes! I have almost everything done in the nursery except all the clothes are sitting in a pile. I've divided them out by size then into dressy, onesies, and pajamas. I'm think I'll hang the dressy stuff and put onesies and pjs in the drawers.
I was also gifted these spiral month separators that clip on to the pole in the closet. They say 0-3 months, 3-6, 6-9, etc. I dunno where the person got them but it will be helpful to keep everything organized.
My question is how I keep all the little hats, shoes, socks, headbands, that all match together in one place. Or do I just separate them and hope I can remember what goes with what?
I can't speak to headbands, etc., because I've only had boys, but in terms of newborn/0-3m clothes... - hang dressy stuff and sweaters/jackets - onsies and pants/shorts get put into little baskets in dresser drawer - hats have a basket in dresser, so do socks - pajamas/sleep n' plays get folded in dresser
I found hanging baby clothes to be a PITA, so I do a lot in the dresser. Even with DS's clothes (2 years old) most of his stuff is still in his dresser. Dress shirts, sweaters and jackets go in the closet.
@Hannah0726 These are all things I am sitting here wondering about too! I think I may just put the hats all in one bin and hope I remember they have an outfit they match.
I started hanging the onesies and thought, this is a lot of work. I have the closet dividers as well. I will probably put sleepers and onesies in the dresser. And hang the outfit/dressy ones in the closet.
Or I may completely lose my mind and throw them all in a bin...

DH suggested we watch a movie tonight so we walked over to the theater just now. The ticket guy stares at my postpartum belly and goes, "that's not a baby bump...is it?" [my interpretation from that question: I think you're pregnant but I don't want to be wrong so here is my indirect question]
My answer: "Oh well we just had a baby, actually."
Ticket guy: "Congratulations...every Mondays we have Cry Baby Matinee where you guys can bring babies to watch movies - we have the lights turned on too so you can watch your baby during the movie."
As DH and I are walking towards our theater, he goes, "um, he probably thinks we are irresponsible parents. You told him we just had a baby yet we are on a date night." Ha! Next time I'll just stick with, "yep I'm 4 months along."
Last go around I hung dressy stuff and outfits in closet. Onsies, pajamas, pants folded in dresser. Hats, socks, mitts, and headbands in baskets in/on dresser. I always wondered how mommas knew what went with what but it actually was pretty easy to remember. This go around I have a hanging cubby closet organizer that I'm going to put baskets of socks, washcloths, burpcloths, towels, etc in since the girls will be sharing precious closet and dresser space.

This is exactly how we do it in the beginning too. I did end up hanging the onesies eventually, but mostly because I ran out of space in the drawers or would forget about them if they were a part of an outfit. I hang shirts, rompers, dresses, sweaters and the few onesies DD still wears now and have baskets in the closet to put pants in sorted by shorts and long pants. Then her jammies are folded and in a drawer. I never kept exact outfits together. Most of the time I knew what went with what and I had fewer pants than shirts/onesies so the pants went with anything they matched. I HATE hanging pants anyways, even DHs work pants are folded and in a drawer because I refuse to hang them. Same with matching socks, headbands, etc. I put them in a drawer and put them on if I had an outfit they happened to match. I bought a bunch of plastic baskets at the dollar store to keep everything organized in the dresser.
I kept everything sorted by size for a while but by about six months I started to just keep everything together and take out what doesn't fit and only hang stuff that she's grown into. Sizes are so different for different kinds or brands of clothes.
@midwestbaby everything is folded in the dresser. If I had a girl is probably hang dresses/skirts but we didn't end up using any closet hanging space for DS's clothing.
I put everything in drawers - 1. Pjs 2. Onesies (separated by size) 3. Pants/shorts 4. Fleece swaddle wrap things/ sleep sacks 5. Extra Towels/bath robes. Little baskets for socks, hats/beanies, shoes and bibs. I didn't keep any of the outfits/accessories together. I hung up the few button up shirts and dressy outfits we got. Oh and I put all of the baby carriers in a drawer too - ergo, boba wraps, infantinos etc
I hang dresses, sweaters, and anything cotton that will wrinkle. Everything else goes in drawers by size. I have drawers for newborn, 0-3, 3-6, 6-12, and so on. I also have a drawer for accessories such as hats, bibs, etc. As baby outgrows each size I put it in a Rubbermaid and label it. I don't really have headbands but I have all bows together in one container and all hairbands in another. I tried several different ways with dd and this was my favorite, so I will do it again.
Highly recommend watching Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates.
After crying over baby A's extended stay, I definitely made up by laughing my arse off every five minutes. It was kind of like our unwind. Much needed!
Oh and also, I miss my furbaby a lot. Haven't seen him since my water broke!! All I wanted to do was cuddle w him today. Ugh! Can't wait for us to be all together again.
I remember some of you ladies saying you've been feeling less movement.. Are you still? This kid is stressing me out! He was super active all last week and this weekend not active at all. He passed his kick counts at 10 within an hour but he's definitely moving less throughout the day. I will probably call my doc but it seems like he goes through periods where he's super crazy then lazy the next couple days. But talk about stress!
@squishy0511 I have the same thing going on. My OB told me to not worry as long as LO is passing kick counts. She said at this point they are running out of room and wont be moving as actively as we are used to because of lack of space. She called it diminished movements intensity wise instead of decreased movement. Especially if LO is already head down, then movement is more limited. She said it was like LO being locked in a helmet and only moving certain ways.
@midwestbaby I would suggest baskets or bins for all of the smaller items. I did that with socks and it made me much happier.
For DS: I hang all regular clothes up and put pjs, underwear, and blankets in drawers. In the closet I have things separated by size and type of clothing. Then I have a basket with socks in the closet, too.
For LO: She doesn't have a room yet so I have everything in drawers separated by size and different piles for different types of clothes. In the 0-3 drawer, I have short sleeve onesies, long sleeve onesies, dresses, pants, sleepers, and one piece outfits. Then there is a drawer for blankets, sheets, boppy covers, etc.
@AliKay20 - I am totally going to miss my two dachshund children while in the hospital for baby. And we may or may not have asked my MIL to come when baby is born and stay until we're out of the hospital specifically to take care of the fur kids. And I may or may not be a tad jealous that husband can at least leave the hospital and come home and see them while me and baby are stuck there!

Just saw this and laughed my @ss off!!!!!!
