Re: Randoms 7/11

  • Who wants to talk about sex with random internet strangers??? I think this has been brought up before a while back but.. Does anyone have advice for how to help DH get over an apparent mental block of baby being "right there." I'm having a hard time understanding the issue since I'm the one actually carrying and feeling baby, so I guess it's a guy thing. Any thoughts??

Our issue seems to be less him worrying about hitting the baby, and more him forgetting there is a baby in there and getting lazy. He leans too far in and snooshes both me and little guy! Cue frantic bopping... btw - yelling "don't squish the damn baby" kills the mood.
So much this too! Like dude my belly is not a pillow! You are pushing the baby up into my lungs and making me have to pee even more than I do already!

  • We still try every couple weeks, but I know DH worries about baby being right there. I really don't have any helpful advice. Maybe let him know or have the doctor mention that sex is fine at your next appointment? My biggest issue with it are the contractions I have... they freak DH out since I'm not good at hiding them.

  • I think DH's fear is less "the baby is right there" and more "the nurse told us it could trigger labor" - which in a few weeks great, but even yesterday I was contracting (dehydration, ended up needing some IV fluids, not a big deal) and he got all in a twitch - Is this my fault because we did the deed two days ago??? No, it's my fault for throwing up everything I drank today!

I've heard that it's the semen that can trigger contractions. My doc said to minimalize the risk we can just use a condom.
  • @curls919 that is our plan too. I don't want to risk it. With DD I went into labor a few hours after, so not taking any chances. But, I was also 39 weeks then, so my body could have just been ready to go.

When I was pregnant with DD I was a horn dog the last few weeks and we probably had sex 4 times a week until we had her. I was induced and ended in a c section because my body wasn't ready to go into labor. I'd say your good and wouldn't even need a condom. I've heard that orgasms can cause the uterus to contract.

I'm relating to all your posts ladies! At the beginning of this pregnancy my libido had increased dramatically. But now we barely have sex. Too awkward and uncomfortable, and not very enjoyable for me. This may be TMI but has anyone been dealing with varicose veins down under? I haven't been able to see my lady parts in a while I looked with a mirror because I was having so pain and wow - horrifying! Glad they go away after delivery!
  • Ive been lurking July and one thing I'm super thankful for about being a scheduled c section is not having to play the guessing game of when baby will be here. I remember how stressed and tired I was waiting on something to happen when I had DD. Silver lining.
  • @Lynnlove28 I'm not going to lie I'm kind of jealous!! That's what is killing me the most!! I keep telling myself I could go in like 2 weeks which is getting my through for now. But then the thought that I could go past my due date exhausts me!!
  • I was lurking in July and found them talking about a circumcision post on the third trimester board. Wow! Some people are crazy!!!
  • I need some suggestions/ direction about postpartum belly binding, wrapping, bands etc. I thought we had talked about everyone's experience and reviews of different ones but I can't find it. If you can find a link that would be great or want to give personal review even better!!
I am a plus sized momma and we are done having kiddos after this one. I want my belly to not be the flappy lip I've seen my friends aquire after kids. I want to get a jump start and am interested in belly binding/ wrapping (in addition to proper diet and exercise). What brand or style has worked for you? Was it tolerable to wear while getting up and down alot? What was price? Thanks for input ladies!

@jamiesc58 which post? I like to lurk when there's crazy going on.
  • I'm on modified bedrest and was advised to not have sex until 36weeks since I had an episode of PTL at 32w. But i really want sex, like always. Everything is so swollen down there and before this when i would get uncomfortable sex made it feel so much better. DH doesn't seem that unhappy about the no sex rule and I think it's because the last dr appt and US the baby's head is sitting right against my cervix. I have two more weeks til I'm 36w and I'm going to try my hardest to get lucky lol.

Already have three furbabies- Blake, Sydney, and Chester

  • Just checked out that circumcision thread on third tri board. First of all, that was crazy. Second, by the time I got to the end I was pretty sure op was just making stuff up. Sometimes people are a little too passionate about their beliefs when they choose to ignore the facts. That goes for both sides.
  • Wow. That was a crazy thread. Thanks for the heads up! I like reading drama threads on other boards.
  • The nesting bug has not bit me yet. I said I would start washing clothes and organizing the nursery as soon as we got the furniture, which we got and set up this past weekend. Well I started today, got tired, and stopped. I think I will try to complete one task every day.

Do you guys wash the little bears/stuffed animals, soft toys, etc?
  • @Hannah0726 My nesting bug lasted a whole 4 days and now I just want to lay around.

Dangit,  now I kinda want to wash the stuffed animals though. I'm thinking I will only wash the ones this little one will have direct contact with while they are an infant.

I ended up washing the ones we got (only 4 things). Mostly because my cousin's daughter got a hold of one during our shower and it got kind of gross and another one smelled pretty weird. Since I did those two, I decided to just go ahead and do them all.
  • We haven't even bought any stuffed toys. Once you let them in the house they multiply when you aren't looking.

Plus my parents are threatening me with the hoard I acquired as a kiddo - which of course they still have packed away. Someone please tell me safety standards have changed since we were kids on stuffies?

  • @Hannah0726 I only washed the teething toys. They're pretty small and thin anyway, but once baby can grasp things those will probably be the toys he gets. My son absolutely loved them, so I actually put them on my registry and got them lol. They're sorta like a stuffed animal, but flat and have plastic and ribbons for chewing on. We only have one bigger stuffed thing that was bought, and I didn't wash it since it will be a long time until baby plays with that.

Don't know if you found it yet, it is Plasti Bell Circumcision.
  • So, Prime day has taken over my afternoon... I am seriously considering getting an Instant Pot. The reviews are fantastic and the price is really good. My friend posted the deal on FB and said they are amazing.... decisions decisions.

  • Can someone tell me the big appeal of Amazon prime? I know you get tv and movies, but I'm not much of a tv watcher. And free two day shipping. I looked into a membership because everyone raves about it. But 99 bucks a year kinda made me go yikes! I like to do a lot of my shopping in person with coupons/cartwheel.

  • so i just found this out and i am going to do it :)

    Starbucks Secret Size: Trenta

Starbucks has recently rolled out a new drink size in US stores, the biggest size available, called the Trenta. It holds 31 ounces and is available for iced drinks only. While this may not be a secret to US residents, it might come as a surprise to visitors from out of country!

So, the next time you’re craving an iced tea or coffee and a lot of it, opt for a Trenta which will run you $0.50 more than a venti.

I don't mind Daniels voice but I hate miss Elena. Who also happens to voice owlette on pj masks. I'm so glad DS didn't like that one so we only watched it a few times. I can handle her in short spurts on DT
