Just getting caught up and wanted to say congratulations @AliKay20! The NICU is so hard, but you'll navigate your way through it. Hopefully you'll go home before it gets too comfortable.
Have they given you an estimated release date yet? Maybe we need a NICU check-in since there are a few of us, and a few NICU veterans from previous babies!
Thanks!! And I'm so down with NICU check-in's.
As of now, at least another week. It all depends on Avery but she's still breathing faster than they'd like her to. Yesterday, her heart rate dropped significantly out of the blue and RN just sort of poked her feet to let Avery naturally wake up and reach her normal rate. Because this happened, even though quite common for preemie's, they're going to record it in her chart and if this happens again, there's a default 5 day stay to watch for x, y, z. Ahhhh!
We went this morning but she just got a bath so we couldn't do kangaroo time. Win for the day: She is doing w feeding tube so they'll increase her amt. Here's to our strong little fighters!!
Ah yes. A bradycardia (brady). Emmett has those about once or twice a day still, but he is also only 34 weeks adjusted tomorrow. They freaked us out at first but now we're used to them. They won't let us go home while he's still doing them so we're hoping he grows out of them in the next few weeks.
I would also be down with a NICU check in. And the Brady's and the Desat's are extremely common. We experience a lot of them. Our boys are 33w4d right now, so they are working on it. That's the main reason I couldn't stay over night, because they alarm a lot...

I posted a NICU check in yesterday. I'll probably post it every Sunday and we can use it throughout the week.
I think I might be calling the on call ob soon. I've had more than 10 contractions an hour for about 2 hours now. I tried drinking water and taking a bath, and while that slowed them, they haven't stopped. I don't want to go through the hassle of finding someone to come to my house while my kids sleep and spend hours in l&d if it's not the real deal though. So I don't want to call yet, but labor was really fast with my first two so waiting is kinda like playing roulette. But I'm 37 weeks tomorrow so it still feels too early. Ugh.
Contractions eventually stopped last night altogether. Feeling back to normal. Don't know if it was because I needed water and rest, or because I wasn't feeling well. Either way, I'm relieved, I want this baby out but id feel better if he waits just one more week! Thanks for the Internet love ladies
So even though I wasn't in labor last night, those contractions were working. Now dilated to 3! They told me to come in next time I have regular contractions, even if they are farther than 5 to 7 minutes apart. Put everyone on high alert today, and I think it surprised dh!
my labor buddy @Karaszoo is being induced right now due to preeclampsia ( 37 weeks) shes 6 hours into induction & going strong with no meds! She's on potocin and water hasn't broken yet & she's dilated to a 1.
@EhTheCatLady What a wonderful update! ☺️ Hoping everything goes smoothly and safely for you @karaszoo1
