No exciting labor signs here, BUT, the high in Austin, TX is only 93 tomorrow, as opposed to the 99-102 we've seen every day since July 4th. And, a sizeable chance of rain. Here's to hoping the cool front inspires labor!!!
Been @ triage since 530am. Only at a 2 but being admitted for observations due to the constant contractions and medical history. Hoping I channel some zen and relax enough to get this going!
After five days of being monitored for elevated blood pressure, I've been diagnosed with hypertension and we're heading to the hospital at 5 pm to begin induction. So I guess this August 2016 baby will be here in July!
Babies, babies everywhere! Hurray! Hoping everyone has healthy and smooth deliveries!

So I guess this is happening... My water broke at around 6:45 and I've been gushing since then! Got to the hospital around 8:30 and am currently waiting to get checked. Baby's heart rate is good though! No contractions yet.. At least not painful/noticeable ones.
I keep checking the board for birth announcements, until I can hold my baby pictures of all the adorable newborns will have to do! Hope everything is going well for everyone!
Update: because my water broke before contractions they're inducing me. I will be getting either the pill or the Foley catheter and then eventually pitocin. I am having mild contractions but not strong enough. Hopefully this process doesn't take forever!
Hi @Car0liiine, @midwestbaby, and @BrunetteBabe722, I saw that you had asked @msdidonato about knowing when to go in to the hospital. I know this isn't exactly the same, but I have to echo @msdidonato in saying to just trust that your body will know. I realize that sounds too easy, but it was true for me. I called out of work Wednesday (which I never ever do), just because I felt "not quite up to speed," and my contractions started that same night. I felt so guilty and "stupid" all day about not going in, but I ended up being right.
Then when I got my first contraction (ever, I was a FTM and had no Braxton Hicks), I told my husband, "this is it." He didn't believe me since I was 2 weeks early--he said that it was probably just my first Braxton Hicks. But somehow I knew.
And although it sounds crazy, I think you will, too, just like @msdidonato said. Good luck.
@entropicallyfavored I actually woke up this morning feeling very off. It could just be stress induced (my thoughts go a mile a minute these days), but I was up half the night with intense pelvic pressure. I'm only 37+2 so I am not too confidant. I love looking at all these birth announcements though!
So many congrats and good luck for a healthy and safe delivery to everyone!!! I'm so jealous seeing all of these posts what with having two labor scares this past week, but it just makes it all more real seeing all these labor and birth posts

I'm a bad labor buddy to just see this and your message! I hope all is going well!
Finally getting back to "reality" after vacation and just wanted to say congrats to all of you who've given birth and good luck to those of you currently in labor!!!!! It was just too much to try to tag and keep track of everything from the app that doesn't like to cooperate for two weeks :-) Can't believe we have so many August babies in the flesh out there already!!!! *mush*
Started with contractions this morning at 1am .. they were 20-30 minutes apart. Got up at 5:15 for work. I ran around at work all day, having contractions but not able to time them (figured my patients wouldn't appreciate me on my phone. Got home, continuing to have contractions 6-7 minutes apart. Pelvic pressure and a lot of back aching. Called my OB. Probably in early labor. Going to stay home as long as I can. Say a prayer this is the real deal! I'll keep y'all posted!
Well contractions got to 6 minutes apart. My doctor said to call back when they hit the 5-1-1 rule and when they take my breath away. They were uncomfortable, a lot of back pain but not the worst. Decided to go to bed, got a few hours of sleep and I guess they stalled out. FTM here so I guess I can chalk it up to false labor?! Woke up with more throughout the night but not much this morning. Sorry for the false alarm peeps going to go run around at work today. Ugh, I got pretty excited last night - now just feeling defeated.
In currently in l&d waiting to be hooked up to the monitors. I went to my ob due to frequent contractions. They were registering 2-3 min apart. I'm not dilated but they wanted to monitor me for longer so here I am. Because I'm not yet 37w they won't do anything to help me dilate so I'll probably just be here for a few hours then get sent home but who knows.
Update: I'm going back home. I contracted pretty regularly through the night but they got significantly less painful after midnight and I was able to get some sleep. He said to come back in if they get super painful again or if my water breaks. If I'm still having regular contractions as of tomorrow and I am uncomfortable then they would be ok giving me pitocin to help get things going. They just won't do it before tomorrow because that's when I hit 37w.
@Curls919 I hope you get some rest while you're home. Not sure if you're hoping they kick back up or if you're hoping your LO stays put longer! I know I was ready last week at 37 weeks to get the show on the road! Thinking of you!

Thanks! While I didn't need to have this baby today I wouldn't mind having it next week sometime
My labor buddy @skelly1990's water broke about an hour ago! No contractions yet, but I guess her little guy decided he'd prefer a July birthday. She'll be heading into the hospital in a couple of hours if things don't get started.
Re: Labor Thread
