Re: Randoms 6/26

  • I realized today while "helping" a child put a fitted sheet on a top bunk bed that I am fairly sure it's exactly like what it would be like to put a onesie on a hippo!
    Anyone?
No help for when the bedding needs to be changed... it's just annoying. but for day to day making the bed, the way they do it in a lot of countries is just have a comforter (like down or synthetic or something) with duvet covers. rather than managing a tangle of sheets and blankets over the bed, you just spread the duvet over the top each morning. We have a loft bed in our spare room and that's what we do.

  • @slartybartfast I love the comforter idea! It reminds me of how I use to keep my bed made in college.  I'd would make my bed and then sleep in my sleeping bag on top at night.  In the morning I would just stash the sleeping bag under the bed and voila instant tidiness!

  • @slartybartfast That's how we've always done it. I hate more than one layer. Just a pain for sleeping and making the bed. Double sided duvet covers are the best. Fold the top down and it looks like a sheet. Done.

I'd love to do that!! DH gets too hot and needs to be able to peel down to just a sheet

  • Yep, we keep bedding simple, just a fitted sheet and blankets. The fitted and mattress pad are the bummer... Really most of my kids can manage it now, I should have called my sons, because they can hack it, but I wanted it done. Once I get bigger (more pregnant) I refuse such jobs altogether!!! I thought it wouldn't be such a chore. Plus, team work does help... One holds down one side whil you pull on the bottom. But serious the baby hippo and onesie visual will stick with me!  :p

  • Changing bunk bed sheets is the worst! We have a loft bed and I have to get up there. Didn't think about eliminating the extra sheet. I just don't make it unless im doing the laundry. Which doesn't happen as often as it should lol
