I considered starting a thread for this to ask for people's opinion, but then opted not to on account of sounding too 'Dear Diary...'  But I really want to know what people think is going on here:

My DH works with this chick that he had a fling with back in the day before I ever met him.  We've obviously all moved on and she recently announced that she is expecting her first baby in November (Thanksgiving Day) and she's having a shotgun wedding in her backyard in 2 weeks.  She's always been very dramatic about everything and I've always gotten a little bit of a sociopath vibe from her (I'm not just saying that to be catty; I genuinely think that she's a little crazy).
Last week I decided I wanted to try to find her registry on TheBump.  She hasn't announced her baby shower date yet but I figured it would be close to when our baby is due so I wanted to get a head start on trying to find a gift for her.  So I typed her name into the search bar on TheBump and sure enough she created a registry!  Ah great!  Until I look at her due date...well that's strange...she lists her due date as September 15th, 2016...wait a minute.  That's MY due date.  She isn't due until Thanksgiving...wtf?!
I told my husband and he is just as confused as I am and we can't figure out what the hell is going on.  It's like some Lifetime movie.  I wondered if she meant that her baby shower was Sept. 15th but it's a Thursday...that doesn't make sense.

    What does it all meeeeeean?!
It could mean something or it could mean nothing.  Maybe she bumped up her due date to get an early completion discount.  Maybe she simply wants to get an early start on finishing her registry.

Am I remembering right that this also means you are going from not so great insurance, to a really good plan?  If so, that part is cool too ;)  If that wasn't you, sorry about my pregnancy brain!

  • Oh and also some random lady at the fair was like "wow, you sure have been busy making babies huh?!" I wasn't even sure how to respond to that.
  • Took a tour of the L&D tonight during my birth class. I already knew most of it because I used to work at the hospital but I never saw it through the lense of "I'm having a baby here"

FI still thinks these classes are a bit of a waste of time but I'm enjoying them so we are going to keep going

  • @Megan324 So jealous of you!   We don't start ours until the end of July - I can't wait for it.  Cheesy or waste of time I don't care, I'm too excited for them, lol.
  • I tried getting in for classes in July and it was full so we have to wait until August. I'm going to a breastfeeding class later this month though.
  • The classes were good for passing time, with a toddler at home the time is flying just fine this time, haha! It's my day off I have an appointment this morning (regular biweekly baby check and what they call "best start" with a nurse... it's new to me, guessing a heads up about ppd, maybe breastfeeding, etc). Guessing the 2 appointments will last an hour or so... and I'm bringing my toddler - yay?

@Megan324 Lol my class goes pretty darn close to the due date - but I couldn't get into the July ones because of scheduling conflicts.   We'll be at General Washington, lol hoping you understand.  :-p  You?
  • @LakeR2014 Ah yes! I will be with his newly United sister hospital
lol if you catch my drift

@Megan324 Lol, yes!  We are such dorks. :-p  I've heard great things about the birthing center there!  I had my first US there too, they were really nice and their gift shop is adorable - I bought one of the only things I've gotten for the little one there - a Clifford the dog blanket.  I saw it and couldn't pass it up.
  • @LakeR2014 LOL I may be giggling to myself over here.
I used to work there and I just love the environment.
Lots of people choose Strong because of their NICU and how big the hosptial is and stuff but my friend delivered there and it felt very ....clinical?  IDK if that is the right word

  • @Megan324 I know what you mean!   If anything happens to LO where they need additional care and such, then I'm all about switching to the children's hospital there, but I'd rather not start there.   It's huge, there's always so many people there, and because of this things are very regimented so that everything goes smoothly and efficiently. This is great but I'd rather feel like my baby and I are human beings then just another case being treated and released.
  • With every passing day, I'm getting more and more irritable. DH and I met my mom halfway to pick the kids up last night. Of course we sat in traffic for 45 minutes with numerous stupid people. (One being a chick that wasn't paying attention so she would let the car in front of her get 3 car lengths away before she realized everyone was moving. Why you ask? Because the dummy was texting. Have I mentioned that Austin is, by law, hands free??) About every 10 minutes or so I'd say some form of "I hate people". DH's responses included "Did you ever stop?" "This is supposed to be news?" and "I think you've mentioned that once or twice before". Huh. Well at least I'm consistent. I'm just annoyed at everything TBH. Stupid drivers, inconsiderate neighbors, the annoying girl that works in the cafeteria that always calls me hun or sweetie and is way too chipper. I seriously need to go into hiding until these two are born.

@UnwritteN12 The above is me 90% of the time and I know it can be annoying so on behalf of us, I'm sorry!  :/  Along the lines of your next sentence though, as I get closer to D-Day I definitely feel myself faking the 90% about 40% of the time and wishing people would just stop doing stupid things (that would normally not bug me, but right now bug the ever-loving sh*t out of me)!
  • @LakeR2014 - You hit the nail on the head. While things like stupid drivers always bother me, so much of the other stuff probably normally wouldn't bother me, including the girl in the cafeteria. Lately though....oy! While I'm glad I'm not the only one feeling irritated, I'm sorry that you're dealing with it too!
