@mrszoess I know, it's crazy how expensive they are! Honestly I have no clue why that is and even though I'm glad I found it for cheaper on Amazon, I still feel funny about spending so much..but I tell myself it's for this baby, not just a luxury for me I saw your great steal, nice!
OK ladies, I need some serious and HONEST advice regarding the nursery. We got the crib set up and then we happened to stumble across an area rug that we liked so we picked it up.. Now that is is all put together, I can't help but think the curtains and the rug clash. And then we have bedding (planning on just a sheet for a while) that it will further clash with all of the patterns.. AHH HELP! I'm having a decorating melt down.. And then I see pictures like the second one, and think.. it can work. headache inducing to say the least.. any advice is appreciated!
@Sprinkels28 It does feel a littke busy. I think because both the curtains and the rug have a similar wavy line pattern. It the example in the second picture, the rug has stripes while the curtains have a busier pattern and they're tied together by color scheme. If it were me, I'd go with a solid gray rug or at most, a gray/white striped or chevron pattern.

Thank you @MRSCORKER. SO will be annoyed but I agree with you.. and I think it is because of the similar wavy pattern too.. I want solid grey but SO picked this out..

I like the rug though, maybe you can put it somewhere else in the house?

@Sprinkels28 honestly for me I think the rug clashes with the rest of the room because it is a warm gray while the walls and curtains are a cool gray. I don't mind the pattern, although I'm sure solid or striped would look nice too.
I was going to say the same as MRSCORKER and LGW2015. The two wavy patterns are busy. And the color doesn't quite go with the others. This is why I don't let my husband pick anything out.
It's a gorgeous rug though. Where did you guys find it?
@afry613 Looove the framed in lavender accents! It looks fairly simple (to me), and other than filling nail holes and repainting, I doubt it'd be too much of a hassle to change down the road. Love that color too.
Thank you all for your feedback! LOL, he did pick out a nice rug--just not the right rug! He found it at Lowes.
I might be going to Lowes today!
I just showed my husband the picture cause I want the rug and he immediately goes "It's nice but it doesn't go in that room at all." Lol. He's colorblind but at least he knows when patterns clash. I'm kind of proud of him.
We finally got started on little girls nursery this weekend!! We are laying new floor through the house and ripping up all the carpet. Her room was first!! The curtains were already in there and will be replaced. The fan will be replaced as well. The closet stencil needs some touching up. But I'm not going to get too crazy. Because. It's a closet... Lol. We also got our crib ordered yesterday! I hope it all comes together!
@bnsmith85 my SO and I are on the search for soft bedding. Everywhere we have been to the bedding just didn't feel like something we would want on our LO. It's cute my SO is the one being extra picky for the babes.
@ammiddleton3 I seriously LOVE the hearts on the wall!
Thank you! I was about to order them online, and I found them randomly at Babies R Us while shopping for a baby shower I'm going to next weekend! Score! They are just stick on wall decals and metallic gold!
Finished! Finally. I'm a little annoyed that there are so many decals (grandma went a little crazy), and we need a picture or something to balance out the wall with the nightstand and dresser, but I like it. The wood name plaque will go above the shelf above the changing table, but we're team green so we don't know which to hang just yet.
Is anyone not using a closet? We're getting the Hemnes 8-drawer dresser from Ikea and I figured I'd just use that since the closet in that room is already full and being used for storage. Do you think 8 drawers will be enough?

@ashleyp625 I am doing the same thing in our nursery closet with the shelf with baskets on it. It's a walk in so there is plenty of room, but there's only one rack for hanging stuff!
Edited to add: @MRSCORKER I'm a FTM so I wouldn't really know, but it probably depends on how you are storing everything. Like I'm keeping his towels and blankets on a shelf under his changing table, keeping socks/shoes/hats on the shelf in the closet along with any extra toys, hanging most of clothes, but will have a small 4-drawer dresser for overflow or extra stuff I haven't thought about.

That would never be enough for DD. Haha. @MRSCORKER. I'm not exaggerating when I say that I probably have 10 tubs of clothes from her first year of life. Right now, she has clothes in the guest closet.

Oh boy, I guess I'll play it by ear. If I have to clean out that closet to make room, I can do it down the line.

(Spoiler alert: It doesn't; and sanding, restaining, and polyurethaning it was a pain in the ass.)
