@beachmama14 I'm so glad she's ok!! You definitely did the right thing-- can't mess around with head injuries, especially when it involves falling/balance like that. I hope everyone was able to get some rest!!

  • @beachmama14 Glad to hear she is doing well! I agree you did the right thing by taking her in.

@Megan324 I stopped working when I was 32 weeks pregnant with McKenna. I was so, so bored in that time. But my house was the cleanest it's ever been! Now I find myself wistfully thinking of how much easier it was and missing the boredom. I know it actually drove me nuts, but the grass is always greener on the other side.

@mamadomino We had fireworks going off for hours last night,  too. I wanted to kill whichever neighbor that was doing it. And I went on a long tirade to DH about how lighting off fireworks yourself is stupid anyway-- they cost a buttload, they're never as nice, and you have to do the work of lighting them yourself. Just why?!?

Regarding sex... it's definitely awkward in 3rd tri. Like Megan said, stopping every 5 minutes to find a position that is comfortable doesn't keep it sexy. But I still want it and it's still good (eventually), so we power through.

  • @mom2adoodle the parents must communicate their wishes to staff, but doulas are very helpful in keeping staff from pressuring mom or offering suggestions to staff.

Ugh, we just put our stroller together and I'm a bit disappointed. We got a BabyTrend jogger on sale at BRU awhile back. The lady said "it folds up nice and easy, is small, and light!"  Well the button you have to hold in to fold it gets stuck and it's super hard to fold. And it's huge still when folded and heavy. It will likely take the whole trunk of our Prius. I don't know what I expected really cause I've never seen other strollers (maybe this is how they all are) or maybe it will get easier with use. I just hate spending money on something and not being totally satisfied. I'm being a downer about it now and I wish I could be excited.

  • @RG1 That sucks. That's such a big purchase to not be totally happy with. I think almost all of them are pretty big (and fairly heavy). I bought a travel system last time and ended up hating the car seat part. It was so bad that I ended up shelling out for a different one when LO was three months. After baby gets older you can get an umbrella stroller that will be light and won't take up so much room. Maybe you'll love babywearing and won't need to take the stroller with you very often...
  • RG1RG1 member
@pizzaandwine I'm hoping that's the case! We do plan to baby wear and have picked up some carriers, as this seems less cumbersome than a stroller. If we needed the stroller, it would probably be a bigger excursion and my DH could help me fold it and put it in the car cause he's likely to be with us. Maybe it's just cause I'm pregnant but I felt like a weakling! I could barely lift it

@RG1 have you thought of returning it? I think BRU has a one year return policy. If you find one you like on display, you can take it down, walk with it and practice folding it.

@AlwaysAuntNeverMom I did think about returns (and we still have the receipt) but I thought it was only 45 day returns. We did try this one when it was on display but we didn't close it... I guess next time we'll make sure we test that feature!

  • @RG1 Yep, they told me they have 1 year returns when I opened my registry since people try things out and find that they don't work for them months later. I remember my SIL returned their bassinet about 3 months after trying it with baby because their LO just wouldn't sleep through the night in it and they were fine with that.

  • @Bibliobebe Thanks for sharing your story! I did not know that 34 weeks might be the magical number so I will hold out hope until at least then. :) I am seeing a midwife on Friday so hopefully they will also be supportive and allow me to wait a few more weeks before deciding to switch or not.

Also, I have been super irritable feeling inside too! Today was pretty great since we hung out with another couple expecting a baby 6 weeks ahead of us, but yesterday and the day before that, everything annoyed me. Even my husband hanging around me bugged me and I asked for some alone time, lol. I am normally a pretty positive and upbeat person so feeling crabby just doesn't sit well. I hope I at least get some more good days like today to help keep me balanced for the rest of the pregnancy! Sending good vibes to you too!

@RG1 I would totally return it. If you're unhappy with it now, imagine once LO arrives - having to carry all the baby gear, diaper bag stuffs, and dealing with the stroller! I did a ton of research while buying ours, and even had an appointment with BBB in the stroller department to get input. Definitely see if that is an option if you have a local BBB or even BRU. (Anyhow, we ended up with the Uppababy Cruz + Nuna Pipa combo - lightest on the market.)

And P.S. @AlwaysAuntNeverMom is right, the return window is greater than 45 days. I'm sure you have a valid argument outside of the 90 day window as well since it was an SA that influenced your decision and the SA was incorrect.
    Per their website:

    Toys"R"Us and Babies"R"Us Return Policy

Returns are easy at Toys"R"Us and Babies"R"Us, simply return your purchase within 90* days.

@frogdog06 @AlwaysAuntNeverMom okay thanks! The whole time shopping for it was a terrible experience because they had one sales associate and she was busy with someone so we waited for about 20 minutes before finally asking that girl if there was anyone else to help us. This one was on sale and in retrospect maybe she was just trying to push stock on it. Maybe I'll go and try folding up some other ones to see how it compares before returning. Thanks guys!

also, another random: I tracked how much water I drank today just to see if I'm getting enough and I drank 4 litres!! Haha no wonder I pee so much!

    Opinion needed:

We spent our morning at Ikea and bought a small shelving unit and some window treatment for the nursery. The curtains are adorable, sheer, floaty, AND made of 100% cotton. As they are new, am I supposed to wash them before hanging them? I plan on steaming them to remove packaging wrinkles, and I have a fear they'll shrink in the dryer.

  • @Megan324 ooooh noooooooo!!!! I'm so sorry that happened! I think I would've had to fake labor Bahahaha "my water totally broke! Like, it's so broken! I'm cool to drive though, bye forever!"

@MojieJo Yay that is good news! I'm happy that someone is taking the time to correct those numb-nuts' wrongdoings

@Megan324 omg what a nice lady. That is the worst

eta: is it sexist that I assumed the manager of target was a lady?

  • @rg1- I love the folding action on the city mini, we tried it in the store and loved it! I would take it back and try out some new ones

@frogdog06- I washed ours on a light setting and dryed on a low heat

    @megan324- so sorry!

  • @MojieJo oh great! Glad to hear they have resolved some of the issues. That oops stuff was what came to mind from Home Depot. Glad it worked on the carpet!

@megan324 so nice they offered you some pants! Some people are still good out there. ;)
  • Thanks everyone!  Ugh it was the worst! I didn't even think fast enough to fake my water breaking (I'll keep that in mind for next time!)
The manager was a man actually but he was super nice to me.
I was with my mom and I was so mortified and upset I starting crying so I definitely made a scene

Anyone awake!? I feel trapped! I'm up at my very small cottage- stuck in a small bed with my husband and dog. No tv, can't go anywhere or do anything to pass the time. Restless leg syndrome out of control and cannot sleep. What do I do to pass the time!?
  • Because DH has been singing 'Let's go to the Mall' since I updated my signature and now it's stuck in my head...

Dad says I'm too young to date (Lame!)
But baby, I don't want to wait (Let's do it!)
That's OK, I'm going to rock your body anyway
I'm going to rock your body 'til Canada Day
That's not that far away, so I guess it's cool! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

    I loved (most of) HIMYM!

  • @blondie080300 thanks! I don't watch after dark either... It makes watching the real ep less exciting for me. I do, however, look up who won HoH when the episode ends in the middle of the comp :)
