@rmarble that's exactly what I want to do! I have nautical stars on foot and I would like an anchor on the other saying "hope abhors the soul". I would love to see a picture of yours.

@annebenton22 I hear you about the normally exercising or drinking wine to relax! I am planning on watching the new season of Orange is the New Black if all goes well and we have something to transfer tomorrow Can you think of any show to binge watch? I also am planning to read a book that I have been wanting to read for awhile now. It's Malala's memoir so hopefully I can feel empowered and get outside of my head!
msirni0 congrats on your 4 frosties! that made me smile when you said "every last needle was worth it"
@BornReady I don't know about sex during stims but I have been wondering myself! It would help to relieve some of this stress!
AFM: DH has me eating pineapple core already and is getting on me about drinking water. We got the call from our nurse yesterday that we have our transfer at 12:15 tomorrow. I was waiting all day yesterday to hear an update about our little embies but when they called to set up a transfer time they explained to me that "they don't disturb them" on Day 3 or Day 4 after retrieval. No news is good news tomorrow as they said they would call to let us know if there was not one to transfer. We are so nervous!!!! Hoping so much that we get one to transfer tomorrow!
Me (34) & DH (38) Married 2014; TTC since 4/2015 Diagnosed with Stage 3 Endometriosis and possible ovulation dysfunction

@lilmissslp the only pic I have right now is from the day of but its beautiful and I love that it's on my foot where I can see it any time I need a little pick me up
@bornready I was never told anything about not having sex prior but I was in no mood and exhausted during stims but after transfer she said I could the following day but it was totally up to me which I was still in pain so that was a no go either
@BornReady my papers say the night of the trigger shot is the last night to bd, also my re said when my dh gives his sample it shouldn't be more than 5 days since we bd to make sure it's nice and fresh. I'm going to try and make sure we bd the day before or of the trigger so we get some good swimmers.
I just received my protocol yesterday and am waiting on insurance to approve my meds that need to be shipped out today. The insurance company knows how time sensitive these things are yet they just drag their feet. I have my baseline apt tomorrow, start Lupron on Thursday and stims July 8th. ER the week of July 18!
@BornReady At my teaching visit yesterday the nurse said that pregnancy is possible during stims so they want you to avoid it. She said by day 5 it is definitely possible and they have seen it before. I guess protected sex would be ok? Maybe something to double check on.
@annebenton22 i agree with @freudianmamma and try to find a tv show to binge watch during the 2ww that always helps me! Anything that might take your mind off of things! Doing yoga is perfectly fine during 2ww as well so I'd encourage that as it always helps me.
@bornready i was told no sex during 2ww after transfer but during stims was okay. Of course I wasn't feeling so up for it, bloated, and pretty miserable so it didn't happen too frequently. Poor DH, but he'll survive.
@Mr&Mrs.D good luck tomorrow with your ER! Hope you get some nice eggs:)
Just got AF today so going in for my FET baseline tomorrow! Excited to jump right back into things. RE is switching me up to PIO shots this time around because I read somewhere that it's more successful than Vaginal Suppositories especially for FETS. Not looking forward to the shots but if it's worth it, I'll do it!

Wow! Lots of people having exciting things happen in the past two days. Congrats on all the egg retrials. Those of you concerned about OHSS should buy a case (or 2) of Gatorade. Hoping you all recover swiftly and without problems.
@adunkin I hope your little embryo continues to grow.
For those of you moving on to stims, congratulations! You've made it this far and you are getting closer.
@emgem819 I'm so glad to see you are moving into your FET!
AFM I've been struggling with depression a little bit. I usually get down with DH leaves for work. I'm feeling a little better today. He comes home next week on Friday or Saturday.

@wifeinraleigh28 I guess you'll need to add me to the list! I came back from my IVF consultation and my doc is starting me on BCP's tonight.... Nervous, scared, happy, excited..... I don't even know what to think. There was so much information and numbers and steps and terms.... and its going to cost a bit, but we are READY for the next step!

Fast Forward: we got 4 fertilized embryos from that cycle. Transferred one fresh, but it did not stick, so we have 3 frozen embryos currently. Went in to the fertility clinic in July to talk about a FET of one of those three frozen embryos, but a new fibroid was discovered, and I was not cleared to do the transfer until I had fibroid removal surgery. 08/11/17 had a mini-laparotomy / myomectomy to remove 6 fibroids, largest sized were the size of golf-balls! Once we were cleared to go about our normal lives (sex!) I got pregnant NATURALLY but it was a chemical pregnancy. The very next month we had another BFP and here we are now with a baby on the way! A TOTAL AND COMPLETE MIRACLE! Watch our YouTube Channel Vlog Here!
@cmm012 sorry to hear you've been a little depressed. Infertility and the process we go through can really take a toll on us. I also get down with my DH is out of town...he's my rock and it feels so different without him around. Well, after my ultrasound this morning I just got the call to trigger tonight with egg retrievel on Thursday AM. I'm kind of in shock, I've only been on stims for a week, but had some huge follicles this morning, the tech informed me that my left ovary was "exploding" which is apparently a good thing? I only had 11 follicles over 14mm, I thought I would have more, but here goes nothing!
i was also supposed to trigger with Lupron, but they changed it to 10,000 hcg units. Any idea why that change would happen?
**Child mentioned** I haven't said much on this board yet I've just been hanging out. I'm just popping in right now cause I need a good cry cause things aren't going as planned. I had an ER in April that was pushed to an FET because of my Progesterone levels. I had 11 frozen but not the best grades just good grades. I had the FET in May and it was a BFN. I've been on BCP and am suppose to stop those on the 2nd start a cycle by the 9th and estrace so I can have FET on the 28th. So I had a break through cycle start on Sat and still going. I was told that if its not a long one then we may be ok and I will have a cycle again beginning of July but if not then we will have to cancel and try again another month. I'm still bleeding so its not looking promising. I do have insurance and they just emailed me that the thawing during my FET is not covered (how does that work?) So now I have this big o bill that I really didn't expect and will have another if we do an FET again in July. I'm waiting for a phone call with the RE to see what we want to do. Maybe I'm just not suppose to try this again. We got Twins my 2nd IVF in 2013 we were just trying for 1 more before my DH turns 40.

@BornReady - woo-hoo! yay for happy trigger news! i wonder if some of the follicles will still grow a bit before Thursday AM? I know (from my TB stalking and Dr Google) Lupron is often given when they fear OHSS, but maybe if you have just 11 follicles, your doc may have decided that HCG will do fine? Either way, congrats and FX for your ER on Thursday morning!
Ugh, so I spoke with the nurse while at work and got all of my instructions for my trigger tonight. I'm doing the Novarel trigger shot. I foolishly assumed it was a subcutaneous shot, but all of the videos appear to be intramuscular. Anyone have experience with this med and can let me know your experience? Directions indicate intramuscular.
Edit: After watching countless videos on YouTube and reading my pharmacy instructions, I took it intramuscularly. I don't know where I'd be without YouTube. Pardon my momentary panic!
Has anyone else dealt with a failed suppression check?? I somehow ovulated while on Lupron, and am now still taking Lupron every evening and waiting for my next period. No idea what we are doing, really. I am supposed to call once my period starts and they will tell me what's next.
Anyone else have any experience with this?

Ok, it's official. We forked over the $$ for IVF. No going back now.
I also sat through the required nurse class which goes over the whole process, focusing on medications, specifically. My husband unfortunately couldn't be there because he's travelling for work, so it was just me.
I tried to absorb as much instruction as possible, but I'm still really worried I'm gonna eff up these medication. There's SO much instruction. I mean, I'm MIXING medications. @wifeinraleigh28 and I joked that it was like preparing hard drugs in a spoon. But really, my head was spinning by the end of it all. Really hoping I don't mess this up.
In addition to med-info-overload, I also had to look over a lot of paperwork with fun questions like "what should we do with the frozen embryos if one or both of you die?" I get that that's a practical thing to ask, it was just a little jarring to think about- especially since I was there by myself.
But people do it, right? Women before me have followed these seemingly impossible instructions and did everything right. So maybe there's hope for me...

I know how you feel! I had my class on Monday and my husband is also away on business. I start on Friday and he isn't back until Saturday. It'll definitely be nice to have him home for moral support!!
@LeFemmeViolette Good luck! You will be just fine, once I got in a routine I felt totally skilled. Also, YouTube and your pharmacy website are your friends. I hear the nurse who did the videos for my meds in my head every time I do an injection or prepare something.
@Mr&Mrs.D I'm actually feeling okay, thanks for asking! I was very uncomfortable the morning before retrieval so it was almost a relief to have all those eggs taken out. They also had me trigger with lupron and so far no signs of OHSS so I'm feeling lucky. Good luck at your appointment tomorrow! Sounds like you have some great numbers. @BornReady Congrats on triggering!! How exciting that ER will be tomorrow. I think I've heard the hcg gives more of a boost than the Lupron so maybe they weren't as concerned about OHSS and figured they would bust out the big guns . Looking forward to seeing your update! @lilmissip Haha yes, bowling balls are a good way to describe it. I love the charm! @msirni0 Thanks for the tip, I'll have to try the coconut water. @freudianmamma Fingers crossed for a transfer tomorrow!!!! @LeFemmeViolette I echo what everyone else has already said - it is incredibly overwhelming to start, and you'll likely wonder if you're doing it correctly, but in no time you'll be doing all the shots like a pro!
And for a quick update, I got notice from the fertility clinic today that 27 eggs successfully fertilized with ICSI. I'm thrilled! We will get the count on Saturday of how many made it to day five and can be sent over for testing. I'm sending happy, growing vibes their way!
Me:27 DH:28 Married in August 2013 IVF w/PGD to rule out a genetic disorder First IVF cycle: ER 6/20/16 (42 eggs retrieved, 31 mature, 27 fertilized with ICSI, 9 frozen and biopsied) Results: 3 embies passed both PGD & PGS testing (2 boys and a girl ). FET on 8/2/16, transferred our girl embryo. Beta on 8/11: 124!! Second Beta on 8/15: 1,117. First ultrasound (7 weeks) scheduled for 8/30.
@LeFemmeViolette - lol, drug dealer! Just let me grab my spoon and lighter lol. I sometimes joke that if ppl broke into my house looking for drugs, they'd think they hit the jackpot. Then they'd grow boobs, lol
@LeFemmeViolette I hear you on the confusion. Having to mix the menopur was the weirdest thing for me, but it becomes routine after a day or two. Now I breeze through it without even thinking.
I'm waiting on the nurse to let me know whether I'm triggering tonight or tomorrow--really hoping I'm good to go tonight, just because I'm tired of being nauseous and uncomfortable. This morning I had 1 follicle at 23, 2 at 22, 1 at 20, 3 at 17-18, 2 at 15-16, and then a couple of smaller guys at 12. Would love for them to catch up and get a few more eggs, but I'm not holding my breath.
My problem is I can't focus on anything else! Work has become a joke; it seems all I'm capable of is watching OITNB and pounding herbal tea. Anyone else struggling to focus like this?
Me: 30, mild DOR Him: 31, totes fine. IUI #1: 5 follicles, cycle cancelled :-/ IUI #2: 1 follicle, BFP, chemical IVF #1: 12 follicles, 9 eggs, 1 fresh 5dt and 4 on ice. BFP, beta #1: 326, beta #2: 841
ER went well. They got 19 eggs and will call to let me know tomorrow how many fertilized. I feel so anxious like I am paying a very expensive babysitter and I already want to call and check on my little eggs. She told me tomorrow will be day 1 and they do not disturb them on days two or four so after tomorrow I won't hear from them until Saturday and then transfer on Monday.
@kfras congrats! 19 is a great number! Get some rest today! I know how you feel, I was so worried about my little embabies and hoping they were taking good care of them.

@Happydays13 - yay for 2 normal frosties! are they going to retest the inconclusive one? if they do, often that one will come back normal, and you'll have another to use/freeze!
DH and I would love to find out the sex ahead of time, but i'm not sure if my doctor will tell us or not (whenever we actually *get* to the FET...lol) Since we are trying for our first kid, and for the fact that insurance is covering everything, if they get wind that we are "being influenced" by sex, they will pull the prior authorization and deny all coverage. That being said, if my doc tells me anyways, I think we would transfer 1 boy and 1 girl (if embryos of both sexes come back normal from pgd.) Hope for twins and then be done! ...maybe.
@msirni0 Today is day 10 on BCPs and we have our IVF nursing class next Tuesday.... I'm guessing I should start stims sometime during the first week in July! I can't wait, really excited to move forward!
@elisam511 Glad to see you here!! Will you be doing a fresh or frozen transfer, or have you not decided yet? Either way, looks like we may be stimming and ER buddies
@cmm012 I'm sorry you've been feeling depressed Lord knows I've been there myself so often ever since we began treatments. You were my IUI buddy back in November so I know you've been at this a long time as well. Hang in there, thinking of you and sending hugs!!

@LeFemmeViolette I suggest watching the videos for your meds on freedommedteach.com. I and DH both watched them, and when we went in for our nurse injection lesson, she basically showed us the same thing as the videos. It's also helpful because it shows in print next to the video what the steps are, and you can pause it if you need to to do each step.
AFM - I might finally be getting around to starting the FET process soon. I've started bleeding, though not full on period bleed yet. I'll check it for the next two hours (which will be noon my time), and if I've bled into the pad, I can call to schedule CD2 or 3 stuff. If not, I'll hope that I start full flow by tomorrow. If I don't, I'll call my nurse and ask her what we should do (I don't always have full on terrible bleeding). Hoping to go in by Saturday for checks, then get started on bcps (or not, if my doc just wants to start on Lupron)!

Thank you ladies for the support. I just found out DH is coming back a week from today. I'm so excited! I'm also traveling this weekend to visit relatives so that should help lift my mood.
Congrats on all the egg retrievals. I'm seeing some great numbers!
@Happydays13 I was given the sex on my embryos. We are planning to transfer one due to other health issues I have and my husband's frequent travel. Twins would not be ideal, but if it happens naturally, then I'll welcome them.

msirni0 congrats on your 4 frosties! that made me smile when you said "every last needle was worth it"
@BornReady I don't know about sex during stims but I have been wondering myself!

Thanks for the well wishes, @Kerami1 & @msirni0! And congratulations on the frosties, @msirni0.

TI for 4 cycles: 1 round of femara; 2 rounds femara/ injectables: all ended in BFN.

@bornready my nurse told me no unprotected sex during stims. I was so uncomfortable during stims that I wasn't really in the mood anyway.
I have a lot to catch up on but good luck to those that have ERs and ETs this week!

1st IUI 05/05/16 Letrozole 7.5 mg CD 3-11 + Ovidrel = BFN
2nd cycle on Letrozole 7.5 mg CD 3-11 + TI = BFN
3rd cycle on Letrozole but did our 2nd IUI on 07/01/16. 10 mg CD 3-11 + Ovidrel = BFN
Onto IVF! Started Lupron on 09/24. Added Gonal F and hcg injections 09/26...... Trigger 10/07. EggRetrieval 10/09. Starting PIO, Estrace, and Medrol 10/10/16. Transferred 2 "strong/beautiful" embryos 10/14/16. Beta 10/28/16 = 998 mIU/mL = BFP with one baby, but miscarried at 9w5d.
D&C on 12/06/17 and started taking BCPs 01/10/17 for the next IVF Cycle, which officially began stims on 02/18/17.
A TOTAL AND COMPLETE MIRACLE!

i was also supposed to trigger with Lupron, but they changed it to 10,000 hcg units. Any idea why that change would happen?
I haven't said much on this board yet I've just been hanging out.

@BornReady Congrats on triggering!! How exciting that ER will be tomorrow. I think I've heard the hcg gives more of a boost than the Lupron so maybe they weren't as concerned about OHSS and figured they would bust out the big guns
Married in August 2013
IVF w/PGD to rule out a genetic disorder
First IVF cycle: ER 6/20/16 (42 eggs retrieved, 31 mature, 27 fertilized with ICSI, 9 frozen and biopsied)
Results: 3 embies passed both PGD & PGS testing (2 boys and a girl
FET on 8/2/16, transferred our girl embryo.
Beta on 8/11: 124!! Second Beta on 8/15: 1,117. First ultrasound (7 weeks) scheduled for 8/30.
Him: 31, totes fine.

AFM - we got our CCS results back...of our 4 frosties: 2 normal, 1 abnormal, 1 inconclusive. We meet with RE tomorrow to talk next steps. Probably a transfer during the week of July 26ish.
Question: did anyone find out sexes before transfers and did it affect your decision? I'm still struggling with the transfer 1 or 2 question...and looks like we will need to decide pretty quickly!

ER went so so for me, not sure what happened when I was back there, but they said they had to pump up my pain meds and boy do I feel uncomfortable now. Walking is hard, so I'm hoping to just pass out the rest of the day. They did get 16 eggs, so I'm hoping for some good news tomorrow.

That being said, if my doc tells me anyways, I think we would transfer 1 boy and 1 girl (if embryos of both sexes come back normal from pgd.) Hope for twins and then be done! ...maybe.
@elisam511 Glad to see you here!! Will you be doing a fresh or frozen transfer, or have you not decided yet? Either way, looks like we may be stimming and ER buddies
@cmm012 I'm sorry you've been feeling depressed

@Happydays13 I was given the sex on my embryos. We are planning to transfer one due to other health issues I have and my husband's frequent travel. Twins would not be ideal, but if it happens naturally, then I'll welcome them.
