In a way I'm enjoying pregnancy sex because there's no need ever for lube. Always ready to go, haha! For PP sex you are definitely going to need it, at least until you stop breastfeeding. Better enjoy it while you can!
Anyone bring someone other then your H to doctor appointments? Hubby is out of town again for work (and will be pretty much until baby is here) and I invited my mom to come along this morning. I kinda have mixed feelings now though for some reason lol we haven't started cervix checks yet and I figured if we started today she'll just get the boot. :-p
@Shelby00519 With this LO, just DH has gone to a few of my appointments. When I had DD, I brought my mom to one appointment so she could meet one of the midwives; my mom couldn't understand why I wasn't seeing a OB, and I wanted her to see that the practice I go to is just like any other practice, I just don't see a doctor.
Now that school is out, I have no choice but to bring my 6 year old to my appointment tomorrow (I don't have friends available to babysit during the day, and family doesn't live close), which WILL be a cervix check, so that should be fun. I have some fun apps downloaded on my phone (which she is rarely allowed to play with) so I'm hoping that will keep her occupied.
@KASG - I feel your pain! I'm due the 12th and my coworker is due the 4th. While people are telling me I'm going to deliver any minute and I'm in constant pain when working because of sciatica, she has had the picture perfect pregnancy and is still doing 12-hour shifts and looks amazing. The jealousy is palpable! (but I also want to mention that she is terrified that she's had a great pregnancy and will have a terrible delivery, so we're all paranoid about something)
@Shelby00519 - not weird at all, though your mom will probably step out for the cervix check (or go behind the curtain). DH has only gone to my initial appt plus my two ultrasounds. For the anatomy scan there was a possibility he wouldn't be able to go and I had my sister on standby because I was terrified to go alone. He did end up being able to go, but I don't think it's weird at all to have another person you can rely on.
My random for today: yesterday I grated my finger while grating parmesan cheese and today it hurts really bad. I don't know how I'm going to survive labor!
@sboston06 I had a super easy pregnancy last time and a terribly miserable baby and post partum anxiety. Can't win em all. Hoping this baby is more easy going. Pregnancy's been more challenging. When I complain, DH says I'm like a real pregnant woman now.

Good for you -- even though I feel wet most of my damn day/night, when the peen enters, I'm dry as a bone. We still have to lube it up. Oh and you're so right on PP sex with lube. I don't think we ever even had any lube in the bedroom until after I was PP and BFing last time around. I didn't understand what was happening, I'd never had dryness issues before that. My OB assured me at my 6-month appt. that this was just a BFing thing and sex would get better, which it totally did. But yeah, lube saves PP sex lives, people.
@Mandyjulie yes! we never had lube until the PP phase....but you just have to have fun with it. Like visiting one of those trashy sex stores and picking out some fun flavored ones, tingly ones, etc. Sex lives do not have to die just because of having a baby or breastfeeding or whatever.
Y'all my husband just tried to tell me he "understood how I feel". He said that he had the hardest time last night trying to get comfortable and is so tired this morning he skipped class. All I could say was "Ah yeah it sucks"- maybe this belongs in twatwaffle Tuesday? He's cute and I love him so, he just earns an eyeroll today. edit: This damn pregnancy brain of mine!!! I just now remembered that we have a whole posting for sh!t our s/o's say. I quit.
I removed my steri strips from my c-section incision today. Holy cow it made such a difference in how I feel and my posture. I was scared to take them off, like my guts would just fall out in the shower or something. Anyone who ends up with a c-section take them out when your doc says to, don't wait longer because you're scared!
Had elevated heart rate this morning along with dizziness. Thankfully had an OB apt scheduled for 2. She had me go into the birthing unit at the hospital so they could run blood tests and check on baby. Baby is doing great and was kicking and punching the monitor the whole time lol. Everything came back normal and they've sent me home for now but I have to keep an eye on the dizzy spells in case they continue. She thinks it was due to the heat. 38 weeks today and still not dilated ... stubborn kid. LoL

My mom came with me to a follow up spot after I went to the ER for bleeding (she was with me at the ER as well). My husband was unable to leave work so she came with to make sure everything was okay and if I needed to go on bed rest she could help me get settled. I don't think it's weird at all!
Oh my god this made my entire night. I love how sadly accurate it is, and we sadly can't even do this anymore. The next few weeks need to hurry up and go away.
My random: DH and I have decided to do one last Ultrafeast (Office, anyone?) before heading to the hospital Friday night. I get to pick what we have, and I'm so excited, I don't think I can choose. Can I have everything?

@HenchBytch Still basically the same! I called the nurses' line yesterday like you guys suggested. She gave me a few things to try... Apparently eating broccoli, asparagus, watermelon, drinking tea (diuretic).. and lots of water is supposed to help. She said if it doesn't help within the next few days to come in for an appointment.
I miss pre pregnancy sex it's just not nearly as fun or comfy anymore!!!!
This!! I haven't enjoyed sex at all during this entire pregnancy and DH has been so patient and understanding. Although the closer I get to my due date the more worried I am that sex won't be the same after pregnancy either :-/
MH joked the other day that he hasn't enjoyed sex in 9 months. I kinda called him on it and he got all defensive and said well it's really awkward, don't you think? I'll admit, it has been awkward, and I haven't enjoyed it at all but I've been doing it for him and now I find out he hasn't been enjoying it. I feel guilty somehow for not making it better for him when he's been a Rockstar taking care of me lately. I'm looking forward to post-pregnancy and hopefully finding our new normal sex life.
Tell him not to bitch and complain. We literally haven't had sex since a week after getting our BFP. I will also be having a c-section, and then there is the fun 6 weeks of bleeding.....my husband has had nothing (not even foreplay) and unless we start having sex soon.....it will be about 10 months of no sex/foreplay. So tell your husband, it could be worse....lol
I have a question For those ladies who have been induced, are you allowed to eat at all or can you not eat once you go in to get induced?
My induction started at 8pm and they told me I could eat up until then. After everything started, I was allowed to have water, ice chips, chicken/beef broth, and occasionally Jello (but the thought of Jello made me want to gag, so I didn't have any). I finally ate food.......36 hours later.

Not really. MH comes to the important ones (ultrasounds), but other than that, I just go in alone. I don't feel that they are important enough for him to take time away from work just so I can get weighed and have a few things checked, and there is no need to have someone else go to those. With my first pregnancy, I did have to bring one of my nanny kids with me (one time), because it was the only time slot they could get me in, but it was just a weight check, BP, heartbeat, etc....nothing down below.
Congratulations @elenabrent! Everett is so sweet! Between you and my other due date buddy @theshannondee having your babies, shit is feeling real right now! Hoping to join the club soon!
@elenabrent I was just thinking of you this morning given you being kinda quiet around here! Yay for baby Everett! Congrats!! He is adorable! You're up next @stellaluna14 !
There is some super lurking going on about July in the August randoms this week (obviously I too am a lurker..) but it's cracking me up because some of the ladies seem to understand sarcasm while others don't. Plus I like reliving the funny threads.
@schaze We plan a nice date night on our due date. We figure if I don't make it, we'll be happy to have our baby. Otherwise, it's a nice distraction from still being pregnant and a way to celebrate being almost done.
