@Schell2013 I know exactly what you mean. And since I'm pregnant and it's the nursery, I'm even more insane about things being exactly the way I want them!
@bnsmith85 That's so frustrating! That's what I hate about painting, it's always a gamble. I always knew that, but never had a problem so I wasn't even smart enough to paint a swatch in our nursery. I just went to town on the walls and realized it was purple, not grey, afterwards. It toned way down when it dried completely, but I still glare at it every time I walk in the room. Definitely take it back and see if they can help you find a calmer teal.
@bnsmith85 not sure what kind of teal you're going for, but I have used Sherwin Williams Quietude, Silvermist, and Sea Salt colors in the past and they are all great choices! Hope you find a color you love!
We painted the living room at our old house this beautiful, light teal color. We used another similar color for the front living room and it was shimmery and so, so pretty during the day. Are you looking for light or dark? @bnsmith85
@nlane0723... we're looking for a light color. I put a coat of Behr Spring Frost on a patch of the wall and I'm hoping this is going to look good. I still need to put another coat on to cover what's there so we shall see. BUT, please feel free to continue making suggestions! I thought the last one was going to be wonderful too and it was the worst thing I've ever seen lol
We've finally got enough done to where I don't feel ashamed to post pictures! Still have to buy a glider and a ladder bookshelf, but the other staples are in place. Also, I have to paint the little side table. Reviews said it was "pure white..." It's clearly NOT.
Our baby girls are going to share a room. My first baby just turned one two weeks ago! So glad we decided they'd room together...setting up the nursery was a lot of work but so exciting! al we have to do is put the new crib together.
@Knottie51481210 cute! Where did you get the square storage unit for the closet? We want to do the same thing with our nursery! I know IKEA has one but I'm not sure if the dimensions will fit the baby's closet.
Love all these rooms! I am moving July 30th so have to wait to set up baby's nursery. I've started to buy things and have the crib picked out. I enjoy looking at all these great rooms in the meantime!
Omg... Guys... We are on our 5th paint sample after deciding to paint the walls some sort of teal, mint, or aqua color instead of gray. This is seriously ridiculous. We have 2 more that I think we're going to try tomorrow. If I could afford a decorator right now, I would totally pay for it

Dirty lurker here...Rainwashed by Sherwin Williams is a beautiful teal/aqua color. It looks very dark on the swatch but on walls it is bright but not overpowering!
@Knottie51481210 Love your nursery! It's feminine without being over the top like so many girl rooms are. I hate almost all the girl bedding and decor they have in the stores. Lol.
@bnsmith85 Oh man, how frustrating! That's why I didn't bother changing mine once I realized it didn't look right. Painting is the most frustrating chore ever, even when you have a paint color you like. I hope you guys figure it out soon!!
@SarahF20 thanks for the suggestion! We have a SW swatch book and we looked at that one but it was a little more blue than we wanted. But now I'm getting desperate... So we may be trying it!
@krzyriver ... Thank goodness for samples. DH is now starting to joke that we should just leave it with all the patches there haha

Yeah, rainwashed was really blue in my house too (I painted Sea Salt over it). Shades of aqua just really depend on your room lighting. If you have a piece of crib bedding or something you are using in the room that is the "right" color, you can always take that in to have it color matched.
edit to add: you could probably even get a color match done at 50% if you just want a hint of color or a lighter shade.

Rainwashed is one of those colors that can really change depending on your lighting. This is what it looks like in my daughter's room.
@jlong072286.... so crazy how paint can look so different in different rooms!
@kmvisioli - well, we don't actually have any one thing we're matching it against at this point, so I'm pretty open on exact color. Right now, the front runner is SW Mint Condition. I'd prefer a little more blue undertones, but it honestly looks best on the wall, so far. I think we're going to try SW Waterscape and Behr Crystal Rapids tonight and pick between those two and the Mint Condition tonight. That said, if I end up not loving any of them, I may try your idea of finding something I love the color of and then getting it matched to a percentage. Great idea!
After deciding to return hideous curtains I ordered online (they look nothing like the pics!), I'm in love with these curtains on Etsy that are $60(+16 shipping) each! We just have 3 windows in the nursery but even if they combined shipping I don't think I could justify spending $196 of this baby's potential college fund on 3 curtains! so, the Target/other online shopping hunt continues...
Lol @bnsmith85 I'm not crafty but I could try! It's a little hard to make out but doesn't it just look like strips of fabric or ribbons tied to a thick string?
@bnsmith85 not sure exactly what you're looking for, but we painted the nursery in sea salt by sherwin williams (home depot matched it for us). It's my favorite color ever! Its kind of a pale blue/green/gray, slightly more on the blue side. It's very light and calming.
I'm pretty crafty so here's what I'd do if I were making this: I'd recommend getting fabrics you like and make sure you have varying textures and colors like the picture does (maybe like 5 or 6 different fabrics/roping total). The pom pom looking strings they have would probably be in a different section of the craft/fabric store than the actual bolts of fabric you'd need for the others (fyi only). The quilting cutters and guides that fabric stores sell will help you with making sure you cut a straight line since you'll be cutting such long pieces. Or you can wing it... either way . If it were me, I'd cut my strips in different thicknesses to give it some added definition and to also hide any errors you make with cutting something too thick or thin by mistake.
Let me know if you decide to make it and there's anything else you want help with/ideas on how to create. If you like the pom poms on the end, I'm sure I can find a tutorial for you on how to make it. I'm telling you, when crafting, google and youtube are your friend. But I really think you can do this... it seems like it'll be a time consuming but easy craft
My cousin had curtains like those in her wedding colors for her cake table backdrop and then put them up in her house. They are lovely! But definitely a craftable item. I don't think they require any special skills.
All the painting is done so I started moving things back into the baby's room. Set some things up so I could see how it will look: The crib will go where the swing is sitting. The two boxes next to it are lightsabers. The rocking chair will go in front of the poster. Sorry if the pictures are huge! I'm on mobile!
Hubby started painting yesterday, and I knew he wasn't experienced but it's painting a wall, I remember it not being that hard....ya he made a mess of it lol. Paint on the floor, paint on the ceiling and it's all streaky...he even put up painters tape lol. Today I'll be doing the second coat (open window and I have a dust mask for extra precaution but it is a high quality low odour paint and a very small room). I can't wait to start putting things together.
Oh! Our colour is called enchanted forest green but holy moly did it turn dark.
We started the piece that we are going to hang over his crib yesterday. Just waiting on his "Little Man Cave" sign to add to the bottom and finish it off.
His crib blanket was supposed to arrive yesterday but I have the worst post office ever. The tracking shows that it is delivered to my mailbox but my mailbox is empty. This isn't the first time this has happened and I'm super upset about it.
Getting there! We still need to purchase a dresser and I need to repaint the trim and closet, but it's looking good. We have some wall decals we'll put up after we figure out where the furniture will live for good.
oh my god I need to paint. I have such anxiety now
Me too! Had a minor meltdown today over all the things we still need to do before the baby comes. Furniture order is going in tomorrow and DH said he'll get the closet done and room painted shortly.
