I took a hpt this morning and it was POSITIVE!!!! Omg!!!!! It's amazing cause I never saw that line before! I seriously told myself that I'm out it will be stark white. I should just plan for another stim cycle. So the line is still on the lighter side since I am about 7dpt5db. I am going to buy a bunch of dollar store tests so I can monitor the line getting darker.
AFM, got the call this morning that of my 16 eggs retrieved, 15 were mature and 10 fertilized normally. My nurse seemed really happy with that number. I'll get one more call tomorrow with an update, and then Saturday they will tell me my transfer time for Monday. I can't believe it's so close! I started having a lot of pain last night into this morning so I took today off work to rest a little more. Hoping I'll be feeling back to myself tomorrow.

@msirni0 congrats on those fantastic numbers after egg retrieval! 10 fertilized! That is amazing!
@Happydays13 sorry to hear about that 8 week wait until the frozen cycle. I can't believe how hard all this waiting is. But I have heard such good things about frozen cycles so hopefully it will be so worth all the waiting.
@BlueEyedDreamer i'm so sorry to hear what you are going through. Have you listened to the podcast "Beat Infertility"? The host has gone through miscarriages in her journey and now has her first child through IVF. Maybe listening to it would be a source of support for you - it is for me!
@KirstenCas I have friend who just got pregnant and had two follies! They implanted the better quality emby and had success! They did a frozen cycle for this because my Dr. is all about them at my clinic.
@adunkin I am so sorry girl. My thoughts are with you that must be soooo frustrating. Grow little follies, grow!!!
AFM: Trigger shot last night! DH and I were at our therapist who specializes in infertility at the time - we have seen her every other week since December - and she had to step out of the room while we did the shot It wasn't so bad at all! I iced up the area for a good 5 minutes and laid down to do it. I also had to do more gonal last night to push one follie from 14.6 to 15. Hopefully it worked!

@adunkin My situation is weird. I stimmed for 6 days in May with no follicle growth, we were planning on starting up in July or August again with a new protocol when low and behold, i was being checked to make sure I ovulate and I have 2 decent follicles, about 15mm as of yesterday. To make things weirder, yesterday was CD30. So I don't think there's a chance of anything new popping up, but i have been on 200mg follistim for the last three days. My RE doesn't want to waste these follies, but i have some reservations. Like will the eggs be mature, if there are any. Apparently they are growing at a rate of .5mm a day which is crazy slow, is there something wrong with them?
I don't pay for my whole IVF if I don't have an ER, so do I wait and do all the stimming (that didn't work the first time) again and hope to get something? It's all very confusing.
@freudianmamma YAY for triggering, GL at your ER and thanks for the 2 follie story, gives me hope! @Foxy8609 FX for dark line!
Me & DH - 41, DH has a cyst blocking his tubes, I'm just old. Scanned day 9 just to check, some growth, 3 days 200 mg clomid, day 12 more growth, 100 follistim, 75 menopur, start ganirelix on day 13, ER = 0 eggs, ovulated to soon ( ) IVF#4 scheduled Sept 2016 - Microdose Flare protocol, cancelled stim day 6 converted to IUI (one dominant follicle) IUI cancelled ovulated too soon again. Taking a mental health break. IVF#5 December 2016 - New protocol, same results. My adventure is over.
@KirstenCas When IVF was first invented they didn't stimulate the ovaries at all and only extracted one egg! Of course, increasing the number increases the chances of success, but I think if there are only 1 or 2 follicles, you have a very good chance of those eggs being healthy and mature.
@Foxy8609 Yay for a positive HPT!!! I have never seen one either, so I can imagine how crazy weird it must be to see a 2nd line! FX for a nice strong beta on Monday!!
@msirni0 Congrats on a great fertilization number!! You have embabies!!! FX for your transfer
Thanks ladies for answering my question about BCPs then stimming. My RE had me start BCPs right away when we weren't accepted to the trial, which happened to be CD22. I hope that isn't bad or weird, to just sort of freeze my cycle on CD22? If I don't get a period before I start stimming won't that be like the longest and most unnatural cycle ever? I guess I just need to have faith in my doctor on this one.

Honestly since I had my retrieval back on May 2nd and my transfer isn't scheduled until July 14th it has been a little challenging hearing about so many of you gals who had your retrieval after me yet transferred before me. I know that is probably not a nice thing to say but there you go.
I have been on bcps for the last month and a half. I finally started Lupron injections to prepare for my transfer this morning. I am really worried about getting Lupron headaches so I made a commitment to drink a ton of water hoping that will help. Does anyone have experience with this?

Welcome back @Kerami1! I'm glad you are moving forward with your protocol. I completely taking a step back from the thread from time to time. We have to do what's best for ourselves no matter what.

@kerami1 I totally understand feeling sad about those that had retrievals after me or right around the same time and are already getting their beta results, especially from FETs. I'm really glad to hear you're finally moving forward with your protocol, I started my estrogen injections last weekend and it feels like the end *may* be within sight.
@wifeinraleigh28, since I don't get periods on my own, my RE always just has me randomly start my BCPs if the timing was weird in between procedures. It should just calm everything back down and once you start stims and go off the pills, you'll have anywhere from some spotting to a heavy flow so everything will get cleaned out before the procedure.
@kirstencas that is a strange and tough situation! I would listen to your gut on it and do whatever feels like the right decision. If you don't continue, will you wonder "What if?" and if so, will you be able to handle that?
@foxy8609 congratulations! FX that the line keeps getting darker!
AFM - I think I'm a believer in acupuncture. One is that it is just a nice time to relax and really focus on myself but when I went on Tuesday, I had a slight, nagging headache for the past three days which I thought was maybe a combo of the heat and starting the del estrogen. After the session, headache gone! My DH has also said he has noticed a subtle change in my energy level, stress level and just look like I feel better. Did the second del estrogen injection on Tuesday night and I think DH may have nicked a nerve or something, I've got some radiating pain into my hip/leg. I'm hoping it goes away. It's strange doing an injection only once every three days and not being poked and prodded every other day for BW/US. I am a little anxious that I won't know if the estrogen is working on building my lining up for another week! I added pomegranate juice to my morning breakfast as I read that is supposed to help too. Hopefully with that, the estrogen and acupuncture my lining will be nice and fluffy!
@wifeinraleigh28 It seems strange to me that your RE would just have you start bcps randomly during your cycle. Mine refuses to let me start them until after I've started a period and gone in for bw/us on cd 2 or 3. That is why I'm just sitting around waiting at the moment. I have to start a cycle before I can start the FET protocol.
AFM - I take my last provera today, and hope that I start a period within the next two weeks. When I spoke to my doc on May 16th he told me transfer would be in 6-8 weeks... Yeah, totally not gonna happen if I have to wait two weeks for a cycle, then be on bcps for 1-2 weeks, then start Lupron, then start estrace, then wait for my slow ass lining to grow. I'm thinking transfer will probably be the very last week in July, at the earliest. Life is so dang frustrating sometimes!

FET cycle #3 Transfer July 28th 2016, Triplets born healthy on February 26th 2017 at 33w1d!
HI everyone! Thought I'd intro over here. I'm on day 3 of stims for my first IVF cycle. Currently doing Gonal-F and low dose HCG and awaiting bloodwork today to see how we will move forward with dosing etc. I was shocked to see the Gonal-F cost before insurance, totally absurd.
TW.......child/loss
I deal with secondary infertility and this is my second treatment cycle after a failed IUI in May. We have MFI (motility/volume issue) which is what led us straight to IVF.
I'm active over on the TTCAL board after a MC in November, but wanted to have a place to give and get some support during this new process for me. Happy to join you all on this crazy journey!
@Kerami1 - I sometimes feel the way that you've been feeling, i have also been in a holding pattern MUCH longer than I thought I would be. Glad you are back though! And very glad to hear that you're finally getting to move towards your transfer! Hopefully you won't be getting those headaches
@msirni0 - those sound like good numbers! FX that all the fertilized ones keep growing!
@freudianmamma - Yay for triggering! You must be so excited for tomorrow to come! Good luck and cannot wait to hear the results!
AFM - AF finally showed this morning! Now I get to re-start BCPs, and if the building of the probe is still on schedule, I may now get to do an IVF cycle for end of June-early July instead of waiting for the following cycle!
@BornReady - welcome! you'll find all the ladies here are so supportive and are great listeners, too. Hope the bloodwork today comes back and shows that things are progressing nicely for your cycle!
so my first fet failed:( such a bummer, but moving on. i have three embryos left, all grade a. but two of them are grade a day 6, and one was frozen twice because of a rebiopsy. i want to put two in this time around and hubby is adamant about one. if we do two, it will be the 5 day refrozen and the 6 day, but if we do just one it will be a 6 day. so confused.
So, I've been lurking in the shadows for the past couple weeks since nothing much was happening with me. But I'm so excited for all the beta and hpt BFPs!! FX for the upcoming betas! So, I had my consult today and got good news! (I was expecting to be told insurance hadn't been approved or my cyst was back). The doc said the cyst looks small enough and not in the way of the IVF procedure so if everything checks out with my suppression check tomorrow we're good to go!! I'll start Lupron for a couple days before stims. Then ER and ET looks like they'll fall during 4th of July week. My RE learned a lot from my recent failed IVF so she's changing some things up and will also be doing ICSI this time around. FX that this is the magic cycle!!!
@Kerami1. Completely understand...you have to prioritize your mental health above all! About the Lupron headaches...I was on Lupron, Menopur, and Gonal F all at the same time, so I don't know if I can single out one or the other as the culprit. I got a headache in the middle of the night every night, probably b/c I wasn't actively drinking water. I kept a bottle of Tylenol and water by the bed so I could be ready and not have to disrupt my sleep any more than necessary. However, I would have to get up about 8 times a night to go anyway...no rest for the weary ha
Quick Update: Got our Day 3 report card, and we have 2 Good4-6 Cell, 4 Good 7-8 Cell, 1 Good over 8 cell and 2 Fair between 4-8 cells. Looks like a Saturday transfer. Holding out hope xxoo

just finished with my RE appt, her and my nurse were very happy with my first cycle and having three frosties. RE said out of the 20 retrieved we ended up with 4 immature and then 10 probably weren't mature enough so they didn't fertilize even with ICSI, which left 6 growing; one transferred, 3 frozen and 2 just didn't develop. now we wait for AF any day now then wait for her again then we start estrace for FET. From what I can calculate if AF shows her ugly head like tomorrow we should be scheduled for FET for the very end of July
@Knottie21021663 sorry to hear your first FET failed. I was in the same situation with my dh...he wanted to put in one but I thought two would be a better chance. He's convinced we'd have twins and doesn't think we'd be able to afford that (mentally or physically) but I'm all for it or a chance of one of them sticking. Ultimately he won though and we went with one.

@Rachnan My FET protocol required no BCPs. I started estrogen pills at one a day then increased to two a day on CD6. After my lining looked good an lined up with ovulating, trigger shot and then added Endometrin six days before the transfer date.

@rmarble23 3 frosties are awsome!!!! Do you have to wait for 2 periods or just one before you can start your FET cycle?
Thank you everyone for the well wishes! I took another test when I got home from work with some very diluted urine(I drink so much water in a day) and I still got a faint positive!! I picked up some cheapies on the way home so I have those to test with and then save the last FRER for Sunday when my original test date was scheduled.
@Knottie21021663 I am so sorry to hear your FET didn't work. I am glad you have some frozen embies and that you have a plan. Sending you hugs!! Choosing how many to put in can definitely be difficult. I don't know how accurate this is but I remember reading somewhere that putting in two does not necessarily increase your chances but only increases the likelihood of multiples.
I chose to do one based on the fact that a twin pregnancy has lots of risk. I am very petite so I would likely be on bed rest and stuff. Lots of people put in two though and twins would be incredible so it's ultimately up to you!
@annebenton22 That sounds great! I hope they keep growing.
Well I think I might be out. Dh and I did a FRER just now 8dpt5d and it was negative. Ugh. Feel sick that I just went through so much with my body and it didn't work. @caseyw8784 Thanks. I know it isn't unheard of to have a negative HPT and positive beta (even on the same day), but its very disheartening when so many people (even in this thread) have BFPs on day 5 or 6pt.

Together since 2008, married Sept 2013

DX: unexplained infertility
Sept, Oct, Nov Clomid 50 mg: BFN
Feb 2016 IUI w/ 50mg Clomid, Ovidrel, Prometrium: BFN
March 2016 IUI w/ 50mg Clomid, Ovidrel, Prometrium: BFN
June 2016 IVF: BFP 6/28!!! beta #1: 358, beta #2: 1428, beta #3: 3742
DH and I were at our therapist who specializes in infertility at the time - we have seen her every other week since December - and she had to step out of the room while we did the shot
It wasn't so bad at all! I iced up the area for a good 5 minutes and laid down to do it. I also had to do more gonal last night to push one follie from 14.6 to 15. Hopefully it worked!
Married 2014; TTC since 4/2015
Diagnosed with Stage 3 Endometriosis and possible ovulation dysfunction
2nd TI (clomid/follistim/ovidrel/progesterone)- 5/11/16 - BFN
Married for 4 years, TTC for 1.5 years
Unexplained infertility
History:
Hypothyroid, under control
Low ovarian reserve
2 IUIs
IVF #1 no luck
IVF #2 ongoing
I don't pay for my whole IVF if I don't have an ER, so do I wait and do all the stimming (that didn't work the first time) again and hope to get something? It's all very confusing.
@freudianmamma YAY for triggering, GL at your ER and thanks for the 2 follie story, gives me hope!
@Foxy8609 FX for dark line!
IVF #1 scheduled May 2016 - 375/525 follistim, 75 menopur - cancelled cycle Day 6
IVF #2 scheduled July 2016 - new protocol, switcharoo...IUI June 2016 - BFN
IVF#3 scheduled August 2016 - estrogen & testosterone primed for 3 wks - ganirelix 7 days leading up to stim - 500 follistim, 75 menopur, 150 clomid , no follicle growth on day 6, stopped injectibles. Scanned day 9 just to check, some growth, 3 days 200 mg clomid, day 12 more growth, 100 follistim, 75 menopur, start ganirelix on day 13, ER = 0 eggs, ovulated to soon (
IVF#4 scheduled Sept 2016 - Microdose Flare protocol, cancelled stim day 6 converted to IUI (one dominant follicle)
IVF#5 December 2016 - New protocol, same results. My adventure is over.
@freudianmamma Woohooo GL tomorrow at your ER!!
Me: 34, DH: 38 ~ TTC since 2014
IUI #1-3 (Nov 2015, Feb 2016, May 2016) = BFNs

FET #2 (April 2019) = BFN
FET #3 (July 2019) = BFP! DS born 3/27/20
I have been taking a break from the forum. I have been keeping up on everyone's stories but not posting since I was in a holding pattern anyways.

ETA: words are hard.
Quick Update: Got our Day 3 report card, and we have 2 Good4-6 Cell, 4 Good 7-8 Cell, 1 Good over 8 cell and 2 Fair between 4-8 cells.
Looks like a Saturday transfer. Holding out hope xxoo

Thank you everyone for the well wishes! I took another test when I got home from work with some very diluted urine(I drink so much water in a day) and I still got a faint positive!! I picked up some cheapies on the way home so I have those to test with and then save the last FRER for Sunday when my original test date was scheduled.
@mjacks16 Good luck tomorrow!
Good luck to those of you just starting out!!

@msirni0 10 fertilized! That's great - congrats!
@KirstenCas ah, yeah. I remember your story, but didn't put two and two together with potentially doing IVF with your follies. Why are these decisions so freaking hard?!?!
@Kerami1 you have to take care of you! Good luck as you gear up for your FET.
@BornReady Welcome! We are also sorta secondary infertility. We needed some interventions last time, but much more this time. How are you doing with stims? It seemed I got nearly ever side effect on the paper from the pharmacist!
@mjacks16 Good luck!
Oh man @emgem819, I'm sorry. I'm still holding out hope for Saturday. (And the new FRERs are crap so there's still some hope there. I have some friends with faint FRER positives and nearly triple digit betas!)
