@babylonghorn16 sorry, took the weekend away from the computer. I'm really sorry it didn't work, but I'm so glad you have lots of healthy frosties to pick from when your body is ready! *big hugs*
@Foxy8609 I did not kick coffee but I did cut back to 8 oz a day (which is huge as it's usually no thing for me to drink 32oz a day). My RE said 300mg of caffeine a day was fine throughout the whole process (which is definitely more than a single 8oz cup of coffee).
@LinZ528 welcome to the board! That's a really good response. I'm going on day 11 of stims and still only rocking 4 follies total all at 13/14mm. (Though we knew I'd be a slow and low responder based on IUI responses.) I'm sorry you're fertilization rate wasn't better, but as my RE says "it's all a data point" that can get you to a what you want sooner or later. Your E2 number is interesting. I read that it is usually at least 200 per mature egg, which is clearly not the case for you. Will be interesting to see what the full report says.
@msirni0 yay for an ER date! Hope the next couple of days aren't too painful!
@wifeinraleigh28 damn it. I'm really sorry it didn't all fall into place. On the plus side, April/May would have meant a Christmas baby and all those women who think they can actually plan conception generally avoid that so.... maybe you were just being thoughtful and trying to make sure your pregnancy was the perfect time of year. I mean, when you pay so much for a fertility treatment, why not plan it the way you want it?
@freudianmamma FWIW, one of my REs said that 3 eggs is their turning point and they have great success with anything over 3. (I've only got 4 and am trying to stay hopeful.)
@Mr&Mrs.D I'm doing a fresh transfer. (I know FET is best when you get lots of follies, but we've only got 4 follies and would prefer to not spend the extra 5k for an FET if it isn't necessary. Not to mention the additional 5k for embryo testing.) I'm a low responder so started with estrogen priming and natural cycle. CD 2 started Omnitrope, 10 units micro-hCG and 425 Follistim. It's stim day 10 and I'm on 20 units micro-hCG, 425 Follistim and cetrotide.
AFM: CD 11, stim day 10. Ultrasound this AM showed a lining of 10.6 and 4 follies. Leftie has 3 at 13.5, 13 and 13.5 and rightie has 1 at 14.5. My estrogen was 574 (up from 209 on Friday).
My regular RE has been on vacation for 2 weeks so this is the first time I've seen her. The other RE said ICSI was a go and looked promising. My regular RE said she was disappointed in my response and she's open to us converting to an IUI and trying IVF again for a better response. (She said while my AMH and AFC are on the low side of normal for 36, they aren't so bad to warrant only 4 follies.) Whatever, DH and I talked. We're trying IVF once. They've said all along that they prefer at least 3 and it looks like we've got 4 so we'll keep moving ahead unless something goes wonky. Still stimming high but this evening my left ovary is significantly more noticeable so hopefully that means there was a growth spurt. Next u/s on Wednesday with ER sometime between Friday and Sunday.

@mr&mrs.D I'm doing a fresh transfer. I am on an antagonist protocol, so after BCP and suppression check, I started with Menopur 75IU, Gonal F 150IU. Added cetrotide in about 5 days later, and upped dosage of Menopur to 150IU. The last couple of days I went up to 187.5IU.
@littlesunshine i literally got myself so worked up over it I felt sick. Having to wait until 10pm I was just thinking about it all evening. I'm really mad at myself now bc I didn't even feel it. Again, thanks for all your continued support during my rough day yesterday. Took my first BCP last night though (aygestin... anyone else take that one?) and felt like something was finally happening! Hoping the next 3 weeks go by quickly!
Oh man. I just totally lost it in my bosses office explaining that I wouldn't be here on Thursday because of my egg retrieval. Tears all over the place! I didn't realize I wasn't composed when I went in there! Ugh! She was really nice and actually cried along with me as I talked to her about the infertility journey. I'm so embarrassed though!
Dr. moved the retrieval from Friday to Thursday after this morning's appointment. I got my trigger shot drawing on my behind and everything

@annebenton22 I haven't had an er yet but I read that drinking water may cause more bloating so you really want to drink something with electrolytes instead.
@mr&mrs.d I'll be doing a fresh transfer. My RE does them often for young patients who have done the blood genetic test. My friend who had mild endo had a 5d fresh transfer and just had her little boy. I think it depends on age/Dx. i'm 28 so my re is hopeful on my egg quality.
@LittleSunshine the cups are glass cups they put on you and suck the air out, I think it's like a medical hickey. It's supposed to help bring the blood to the surface to circulate. I think the dancing needles does the same thing. My acupuncturist seemed very focused on blood circulation as she said it's very important for fertility. Good luck for the rest of your stims!
@wifeinraleigh28 I'm glad you started your bcp and are getting things moving. I'm also on that brand of pill. Its made me super nauseous but all bcp's do on some level so no biggie.

@chicandbubbly I tested yesterday and got a BFN. I refuse to do any more yet because I was a sobbing mess for 4 hours. Don't do it to yourself unless you are ok with a negative. I know some people don't get positives until their beta, but I keep seeing all these BFPs at 5dp5dt that I thought, "i'm at 7 days, it should show by now right?" Ugh. Seriously, whole afternoon sobbing.

as far as testing @chicandbubbly think long and hard... I decided to test 7dpt and I didn't think I would care and it has brought me down for the past 4 days and like @sleepyrn I refused to do it again
@chicandbubbly I don't recommend testing ahead of time. I really regret doing it.
AFM, I have been testing every morning since 5dp5dfet. The only reason I tested was because I was feeling some really specific symptoms that have only ever happened to me the 2 other times I've been pregnant. The line got a little darker yesterday, but still pretty faint. Then this morning's line (at 8dp5dt) was a little lighter. It's just been a hugely stressful rollercoaster, (trigger warning) giving my flashbacks from my m/c around this time last year. Overall, I just really regret testing early.

@mtpbadger - agree with others, anytime you stop BCPs, you will usually have some bleeding, but definitely let your nurse know for peace of mind.
@wifeinraleigh28 - so sorry about the trial, and the waiting. I think most of us didn't jump quickly to the decision to do fertility treatments...so usually we've already been waiting many months (or years) for that BFP that didn't come, and so when we finally ask for help, it feels like something should happen right away. I have spent quite a bit of time coming to terms with my own body not cooperating, the testing that can only be done at certain times, and this process that can really take over your life. But in the end if there is a baby in our arms, we keep smiling and take one day at a time. And at least take comfort that you really are one step closer!
@babylonghorn16 - we got another crazy storm on Saturday...it seems like there's a flood warning every week! Luckily we haven't had any flooding in the house and it's only ever come up into the driveway.
AFM - AF came today so will start BCPs tomorrow. So amazing how we dread AF through parts of this process, and are anxiously waiting for AF at other times, because it means we can take the next step. One week until genetic testing is done and we find out how many of our 4 frozen are "normal".

Was wondering if you anyone has considered another ER cycle once down to 1-2 embryos left. This two week wait for results is difficult and I'm trying to think about every contingency... I just have to figure out if I will be happy only having one child...which sounds drastic, I will of course be happy, just always wanted to have at least 2 (for sharing family stuff, companionship, etc), and if none are genetically normal or none implant, the decision is easier...i would do ER one more time. But if I get pregnant with the 1 normal, my next ER would be with 40 year old ovaries and I already have DOR. Just trying to weigh all the options.
What are your thoughts?

I jumped the gun and called my nurse today to ask when I can do FET (if this fresh didn't work) and she said as soon as AF comes I can start the next cycle. She told me I may have tested too soon and to hang in until Saturday. I told her I just wanted to ask her while I had myself together because if beta is negative I wouldn't have the sense to ask.

@Happydays13 I currently have only 1 frozen embryo (PGS tested normal) from my first IVF cycle in April. We decided to do another round and ER before doing an FET to try and get a few more embryos to freeze. We decided to go that route for the reasons you mentioned. We wanted the option of being able to have a sibling if our first FET is successful and it's another couple of years before we would be able to do IVF again. I am 37 and have diminished ovarian reserve so I likely won't have many eggs left in another couple of years. Right now the egg quality is still there so we didn't want to risk waiting.

@emgem819 my nurse tends to dispense info on a need to know basis but my RE im sure will give me much more detail, she is good at that, on thursday b/c i would like to know also i would like to know why only 6 out of 20 eggs were fertilized and we did ICSI, i just expected a higher number.
thankfully i had already set up for an acupuncture appointment today and after i made it thought it might be a bad idea if i did get a BFN but i think it helped give me that extra boost of calming.
So here's a weird thing that happened. I had b/w last Friday,my RE thinks I may not be ovulating, she called yesterday and asked me to come in for a scan. It is CD27 and I had 2 naturally occurring follicles around 15mm....so weird! So she had me do 200ml of follistim yesterday and today and is going to scan me tomorrow morning. She doesn't want to waste these follies, but I'm not sure we are a candidate for IUI since he's got wonky swimmers. Guess I'll find out tomorrow.
Me & DH - 41, DH has a cyst blocking his tubes, I'm just old. IVF #1 scheduled May 2016 - 375/525 follistim, 75 menopur - cancelled cycle Day 6 IVF #2 scheduled July 2016 - new protocol, switcharoo...IUI June 2016 - BFN IVF#3 scheduled August 2016 - estrogen & testosterone primed for 3 wks - ganirelix 7 days leading up to stim - 500 follistim, 75 menopur, 150 clomid , no follicle growth on day 6, stopped injectibles. Scanned day 9 just to check, some growth, 3 days 200 mg clomid, day 12 more growth, 100 follistim, 75 menopur, start ganirelix on day 13, ER = 0 eggs, ovulated to soon ( ) IVF#4 scheduled Sept 2016 - Microdose Flare protocol, cancelled stim day 6 converted to IUI (one dominant follicle) IUI cancelled ovulated too soon again. Taking a mental health break. IVF#5 December 2016 - New protocol, same results. My adventure is over.
@adunkin Not fair! My re/nurse straight up said no caffeine. I usually drink only 1-2 cups a day. I think Ive finished withdrawing from it though. I hope my fever over the weekend wasnt from that.
Seriously itching to test. My husband still wants to test on Thursday morning but I am very nervous. I feel like it didnt work. Yea Im crampy and I had some spotting but it all just feels like AF is coming.
Re: June/July IVF or FET
@nuttymask FX for a great report!
@cmm012 yay! Great news!
@annebenton22 congrats! FX for more great new soon!

Ice it for a couple minutes first and you will be good to go! so much easier than I thought it would be!

Good luck for the rest of your stims!

as far as testing @chicandbubbly think long and hard... I decided to test 7dpt and I didn't think I would care and it has brought me down for the past 4 days and like @sleepyrn I refused to do it again
@sleepyrnSame goes for you! Hang in there!
@annebenton22 FX for a good fert report!

@nuttymask - good luck on your transfer!
@sleepyrn, @rmarble23, @chicandbubbly - FX that the beta brings you happy news!
One week until genetic testing is done and we find out how many of our 4 frozen are "normal".
first RE visit 11/15, me - blocked left tube and Low AMH, DH - low count, motility not great
5/16 Lupron, gonal f, menopur, dexamethasone (5/19 suppression check: 13 resting follicles; 5/24: estradiol 457 - decreased menopur;
5/27: estradiol 1417, progesterone 0.18, 5 follicles >15mm, 9 follicles 5-15mm; 5/30: estradiol 2964, progesterone 0.8, 9 follicles
>16mm, 6 follicles 6-11mm; 5/31: estradiol 3149, progesterone 4.1; 6/1 ER)
6/16 egg retrieval 6/1 (15 eggs, 14 mature, 7 fertilized with ICSI); 5 day update (5AB (biopsied and frozen), 4AB/C (biopsied and frozen), 2/3, 3 morula, 1 multicellular); 7 day update (4 frozen and sent for CCS: 5AB, 4AB/C, 5AB, 4BB); CCS results (2 normal, 1 abnormal, 1 inconclusive)
7/16 attempt to retest inconclusive - didn't survive thaw
8/16 transfer day 8/1: 2 5AB hatching blasts, beta 8/10 = 250!!, beta #2 8/12 = 572, ultrasound on 8/24...TWINS!
