@KatieJo1205 Dh's family is Filipino (on his mom's side) so all my nieces and nephews have at LEAST 2 or even 3 middle names, and a NN on top of that because no one goes by their name in his family lol. It's not as uncommon as you think.

@maamawaabangi Thank you for these suggestions! I am surprised to find I really like Mavis Flannery!
I've always loved Flannery O'Connor's name... very unique for her time period... It doesn't work well with our last name, but I'm quick to recommend it to others.
So, I was looking up the history of the name Phineas (I was asking about that in one of these thread, not sure which)... and found in the Bible it's spelled Phinehas... and the main Phinehas was a total bad-ass (now I know that's not a very biblical way to talk, but he totally was!) I tend to like my spellings very phonetic or the most common, but I'm contemplating keeping it the traditional Phinehas spelling.
@maamawaabangi No, I don't think that would be too confusing. I know guys named Jackson that go by Jax, Jace, etc. Should be just fine to spell Phineas however you like.
@maamawaabangi I think it's one of those names he's going to be spelling his whole life anyway (not in a bad way, that's just how it is with most long names. Heck, my 1st name is Holly and I get mail for Molly, Halle, Hollie and Hayley lol) so I don't think it matters how you spell it. It's a classic name.

We are having a boy, from the test results. And luckily, DH and I agree on a name. if we were having a girl, I think it would have been tough as in past discussion (I may have mentioned this before), DH was not a fan of any girl name I brought to the table.
Right now, we're going with Wyatt Steven.

I'm not set on any name yet for our little girl. However, I love the names Bethany or Mallory. However, no one that I have told seems to like either name.
I love you all I love the idea of Joy as the middle name (forgot to add, we have a Grace! haha) or something similar. Would Emmy or Molly or Emily work?

@lynnm2015 I would go with Emily. I'm a Holly and I get mail for Molly, Holy, Halle, Hollie and Hayley. Emmy to me makes me think of the Emmy awards...

@FitTris I love a neutral name, as both DH and I have them. And I thought it would be fun to keep that going, but every name that I could think of, a friend has already name their kid that... or one of us just isn't a fan.
I will share mine if you PM me I haven't committed yet because we don't know what we are having and don't want to put it on blast, LOL. I did tell my mom to stop giving me girl suggestions because we already have a girl name and it's gender neutral and we're not telling because she probably won't like it (even though my name is a male name!)

@washyourhandsplease I love Bethany! I wanted to name my daughter Tova-Bethany but DH hates it.

We're having a girl, and naming her Athena unless she really, really doesn't look like an Athena when she's born.
We were calling the baby Agamemnon as a working name, and decided to switch to Athena when the NIPT results came in. We told our families that it was the new working name, and a few days later threw out a short list of names (Ava, Rosa, Isabella, Liliana). My mom complained that all the names were too "girly" and that we should call her Athena because it is a great, strong name. My sister agreed. His mom and sister disagreed, but we've decided that our LO is most definitely an Athena. Though we liked the other names, calling her Athena fits, while calling her anything else just hasn't.
We are at a loss for a 2-syllable middle name that goes with both Athena and our last name though. Our last name is 1 syllable and we wanted to do a 3-2-1 syllable count. My stepdaughter is Julia Kahlan (kay-LEN), and we would like to keep the rhythms similar.
@maamawaabangi Honestly, I would think puppy. Lol like the movie? I loved that movie when I was little. I think it's more unisex, I wouldn't side-eye it for either gender.
@maamawaabangi I know a two year old girl named Shiloh Maxine. She is sooooo adorable. Bc I know a girl named Shiloh I would always associate it as a girl name.
So, I have a short list for our third...would love some opinions on them if anyone cares to weigh in. We're using Philip as a middle name to honor my FIL.
As an aside, is Wynn more feminine? I like that it kind of ties in to my husband's vietnamese heritage (Nguyen is a common surname there and phonetically it's pronounced the same), but I'm not sure if it reads feminine.

Jon (NN: Jack) Philip Beau Philip Wynn Philip
I like Jon (prefer John spelling) and Beau but Wynn not so much. I'm not sure why. Solid choices!

@Bringmemylongswordho, I read/saw that too about Wynn. I think it might just be me. For whatever reason, when I think of Wynn, I immediately think of Winifred. I've never personally known anyone by either name, so I'm not sure what that's about.
