Re: Symptoms Thread

  • @allishally13 I actually ended up calling my doctor on Friday, because I was about 80% certain I had BV.  She sent me a prescription over and I started taking it right away and by the next day I felt 10 times better.  My BH contractions also diminished a lot since the antibiotics started working which is great.  Infections below can cause pre-term labor, so I'm glad I got a prescription.  You might want to have them test you when you go in for your next appt just in case there is something else going on below!

  • Does anyone else feel super sore across their abdomen? I almost feel like it's a pulled muscle type of feeling. I know it's all normal and whatnot, but MAN this hurts! If I sneeze or cough, my belly hurts and I'm afraid of wetting myself! Also, I'm almost 30w and baby feels really heavy and low. Going for walks to exercise is almost too much for me. It feels like he's going to fall out from all the pressure. Any tips for relieving that? I tried the kinesiology tape and my skin reacted badly to the adhesive. Or belly band recommendations?

  • @tmk0325 I'm glad they figured out what it was for you, but I doubt that is what is going on with me. I've had infections before and they felt totally different. It seems to be the baby dropping and muscles/nerves being pushed on... But I'll have them check tomorrow just to be safe! :)

  • I hate constipation. I'm able to go at least once a day, but then by evening I will be blocked again.  So uncomfy.

  • Been having pain that feels kinda like menstrual cramps - which to me don't really feel like cramps per se but idk how they feel to others. I've been fortunate enough to only have period cramps a few times. Basically pain low in the abdomen but there's no tightness and it doesn't come in waves, more constant. And I only get this when I'm laying in bed at night. Anyone else? I know if I ask the doctor they'll just say "oh that's normal" like they have with every single other symptom I've asked about.

  • @Car0liiine when I'm laying down I get like a pulling pain and I have to prop my stomach up.

I have felt exhausted all day today. I haven't even done much besides take care of DD. My belly just feels really heavy and I just want to lay down all the time.

Same here! Started when I entered into my 30th week.

I too get really uncomfortable lying down. If I lay on my sides, baby goes batsh*t crazy for some reason. Last night, I had to prop myself up a little and lay down on an angle. My legs were propped up too on top of not 1, but 2 pillows. Seemed to help.
  • My belly is starting to feel really heavy too. And I can no longer breathe. Between allergies making it impossible to breathe through my nose and the baby crowding out my lungs I sound like I just ran a mile even sitting at my desk! And I also am not comfortable lying down at all anymore. Everything hurts! I can't stay awake that long anymore so I go to bed early and then I can't even sleep a full 8 hours because I'm in too much pain. But I only have 9 weeks until the due date! I just keep telling myself this is only temporary and it won't last forever.
  • My feet are now three times as big as usual! Very odd feeling them being this swollen, loads of numbness and tingling. Been told just to keep them elevated where possible if I'm sitting down.

Doc gave me tablets yesterday for the haemorrhoids as well as a stool softening liquid, I've to take them for a week. He says they'll probably come back periodically for the rest of the time.

    Pregnancy is weird.
  • My pubic bone is kiiiiiiilling me.  It's been bothering me for several weeks/months, but with this growing belly it's starting to really drive me nuts.  I'm actually ok during the day, but it really is giving me trouble at night rolling over in bed.  Like excruciating pain all 500 times I switch sides at night.  I had a good system of first rolling my hips then my knees that helped a lot, but that's not working anymore.  Anybody else have this problem?  Any rolling over tips?

I take lots of baths especially before bed and Tylenol. Otherwise I see a prenatal chiropractor which has been my lifesaver!

This kid gets hiccups like 3-6 times a day. It was kinda cute in the beginning, but now when she gets them, she smashes her legs up into my right rib. I think she's as annoyed with them as I am. I feel I am carrying so high and stretched out rather than a cute little round bump. It's more like a half barrel strapped to my core.

  • @midwestbaby. I am having the same issue. This LO gets the hiccups at least 2-3x per day. I had this with my first as well but I never had kicking of my ribs until this LO. I was sitting when this happened yesterday and I had to stand up and stretch. I was rubbing my belly hoping that she would move her legs/feet. Finally she did but it hurt like crazy. It was like her little foot was stuck inside of my right ribs.
  • After about two weeks of little to no discharge, it's back with a fiery vengeance

@Sunnyn75 Me too! I wake up and roll over it seems all night, so I am not getting much sleep. I wake up sore and achy every morning. Takes me a couple hours to feel normal again.
  • My feet have gotten wider! Is this something that's permanent  or do they go back?
  • My feet have grown a whole size as I entered 32 weeks.

Belly dropped but when baby stretches, my center part of belly flattens out. Is the baby lying sideways?! Sometimes I feel kicks above belly button so I think baby turned. It's a weird feeling when baby stretches. My round top belly literally gets flat in the center and I see pokes on my side belly.
  • @tinkerbell11210 Yes! I try and get her to move her foot/feet down too and she seems to just wedge them up more. I find the only thing that sometimes works is laying on my opposite side and drinking something really cold. That usually gets her to move a bit. What a stinker!

I'm joining the club of swelling. I've noticed a big difference this week. I had to take off my wedding ring and it's hard to see the bone on the inside of my ankle.  On a separate note, I'm also finding my hips hurt by the end of the night.  Just 6 more weeks!
It was funny not wearing a wedding ring because my husband and I went out for our anniversary and neither of us had on our rings.
  • My knees are so stiff! When I crouch down, they don't seem to want to assist me in getting back to standing. I've declared the floor and the bottom shelf of the fridge no fly zones for this mama. Haha.

Yes! My pubic bone started hurting at 26w, more so the left side than the right but it's super painful! I haven't really found a solution for it and my dr said it was everything stretching out. I just have to reposition myself a lot at night and not sit too long during the day. I've also started getting a lot of pressure in my pelvis and an achiness in my vagina. I'm thinking LO has flipped and is now head down causing this. I'm just worried my cervix has dilated some because it feels different down there. I have a dr appt Wednesday so I'm going to ask them to check me then to make sure but it's definitely getting more uncomfortable down there!

Already have three furbabies- Blake, Sydney, and Chester

  • I also am starting to lose sight of the bone on the inside of my ankles. Not sure why but this is really bumming me out! I'm afraid it's a slippery slope to giant puff feet.
  • Since when did sneezing cause slight cramps?! Ugh! Almost at 35 weeks...am I going to deliver a little early? I've an inkling...

Nope, at least, not that I noticed. This one was lingering for at least a min. Owwwww. Cramps are randomly coming and going. Last night, I was fine lying in bed until I switched to my right side. It felt like I was about to start my period and wouldn't go away until I sat up.
  • Sneezing has been painful for months.  No fun.
  • The past week or so the pressure has become so annoying. I must be carrying extremely low because if I'm up for more than 5 minutes it almost feels like he is going to fall out. DD stayed up high until she was evicted via c section so I didn't deal with much lower pressure from her.

I dont sneeze often so next time I do I'll have to see if it's painful.

Also I've been so forgetful the past few days I'm getting on my own nerves. Last night I needed something so I went to DDs room, stood there for a few minutes trying to figure out what I needed, and then realized that I needed my phone charger which was in my room, not DDs.
  • I've been having heart palpitations/pounding, particularly after eating. It's a little alarming, although everything I've read says it's pretty normal (with no other troubling symptoms). I think my cardiovascular system is struggling with the extra blood volume and my large size -- I've also had a much tougher time exercising, even in yoga class, and short walks really wipe me out. This morning I walked from my office to Starbucks right across the street, and when I got there I was a little winded and had to lean on something rather than just stand in line!

Also, am I the only one who has started wishing that people would let me cut in long lines because I'm pregnant? Like how people often (if they are nice) offer pregnant ladies their seats on the bus? Wouldn't that be a nice world to live in? Waiting in lines has been one of the most annoying things with the back pain, hip pain, and shortness of breath.
  • @Snaps816 yes! The other day I was in Walmart and I had a handful of items and a gallon of milk. The lady in front of my looked at me and turned back around and began unloading her full buggy onto the belt. While it's obviously not required, I normally let people go in front of me if they only have a few items and I have a ton. It's just common courtesy. Also this lady had 60 ears of corn so I stood there judging her waiting to check out trying to figure out who needs that much corn and how on earth you could cook it all at the same time.

@Lynnlove28 That is common courtesy for anyone, but you would think if it were a third-tri pregnant lady, most people would let you skip ahead! I pretty much always use a cart now at the grocery store because I can't deal with carrying a basket if there is any kind of line, plus I can lean on it a bit. I know you can't actually expect things like cuts in line, and it's just wishful thinking, but it's so wonderful when people do offer you things like that.
  • @snaps816 I have had that exact same thought several times lately. I thought I would get special treatment from random strangers for being pregnant... I was wrong.

I think the morning sickness is making a comeback. I've been having completely out of the blue rounds of bad nausea and today has been noticeably worse. Luckily I'm keeping everything down but stupid GD means I can't have my go-to nausea cure - a Cherry Coke.

Luckily my experiences have been more positive than negative but I hear ya. Some people just dgaf. I so appreciate the door opening, letting me get off the elevator first, and my fave: Letting me go to the bathroom bypassing that long ridiculous line only we women seem to face
  • @Snaps816 if I only need a few things I refuse to grab a buggy because I know that if I get one I'll get way more than I actually need. It works sometimes.
  • @snaps816 - I flew a few weeks ago and didn't end up checking my bag, and was horrified that not a single person offered to help put my bag up in the overheard compartment.  I was 32 weeks then with a very, very noticeable 3rd trimester bump.  I was pissed.

I am having a ridiculous amount of swelling down there.  I think I've seen comments about it, so I doubt I'm alone.  Things were swollen starting about two weeks ago, of course right after my last OB visit, and they've just gotten worse.  I'm wearing cotton panties, keeping my feet elevated, not having sex because its just too painful with the swelling, and drinking gallons of water.  No funky discharge or anything, just so swollen.  Half wondering if my weight gain in the last week is literally just from swelling there alone, it's so crazy! I definitely feel heavy and extra pressure too.  I'm planning to just bring it up at my OB visit tomorrow afternoon, but it's worse today, and so I hope it's nothing urgent that can't wait a day.

    (A) Anyone have stories to warn me to call about it today instead of waiting 24 hours?

    (B) Any remedies to help this FTM??

I now have giant puff feet about 50% of the time :( And my hands started swelling and getting tingly when I was too hot yesterday. I don't like!
  • @kwilliams3402 I'm also swelling pretty intensely down there, way more than with DS. I'm not swelling anywhere else really, so I'm attributing it to LO being so low in my uterus (confirmed with an ultrasound yesterday). I didn't ask my OB about it, but she had to do an internal exam yesterday to check my cervix and didn't mention any concerns, so I don't think it's anything to be super worried about. I'm trying to hydrate and I'm on pelvic rest anyway (no sex and no exercise) because of contractions. I have nothing to add to help, but I feel your pain!

  • Also, my nipples are so dark and sensitive the past 2 days! They hurt from just my shirt touching them!

  • @bookhousegirl I guess it had been awhile since I actually looked at my nipples but I caught glimpse of them in the mirror yesterday and could not believe how much darker they had gotten. My linea negra also has started to show this week so hormones are up to something!
