I finished cleaning DD's stuff out of his room this weekend and put his dresser together. I still need to put up his closet system (I stole the one that was in there for DD and bought a new one for the nursery) and then I can start unpacking his clothes! I have like 2 boxes and 2 totes full of stuff just in his room right now, so at least it's all together...
I think I'm not even going to bother with his crib for a few months. I want him in our room to start, which is on a different floor, but we don't have much room for the pack and play, so I'm going to move a few things out of our room into his room to make space, and then when he starts sleeping through the night/outgrows the pack and play, I'll empty his room of our stuff and put the crib up.
This poor second kid doesn't get a theme, just cute stuff that he'll never notice if it doesn't match lol.
Countdown to Baby H! Mommy to Elizabeth (6/18/09), preemie at 34 weeks
My husband just had an EPIC meltdown while painting our nursery. We discovered he hates painting after about 5 minutes. Apparently we're going to pay someone to finish/fix it because he just won't hear another word about it.

Lol Sounds like my husband! I can say I do 95% of the painting around here. He is lucky I love it, otherwise I could see some arguments.

@mrscorker@schell2013 - Add my DH to the painting man tantrum. Except he actually finished it and now hates the paint color and is a rotten mood about it. Won't talk about hiring painters to redo and certainly won't talk about reprinting ourselves... I guess he is just decided to hate that room forever. I don't get it... I did just as much work as he did, and I'm almost 6 months prego and not even sore or tired. Plus I like the color.
@strickland8052 my husband hated the color of our new bathroom after we painted it. Thankfully he quit complaining about it and/or just forgot why he didn't like it. I think it grew on him. Maybe yours will be the same way!

Oh @schell2013 - I hope it does grow on him. I just hate that I have to deal with his grumpy grouchy... And he is leaving on a week long business trip tomorrow so it is ruining our last night together.
Update on the Husband painting tantrum: he took a nap and woke up and decided it didn't look so bad after all and wouldnt take much to finish. Aren't I supposed to be the hormonal one with the mood swings?

All you ladies painting your nurseries got me too excited to wait any longer. Husband and I painted as high as we could reach without a ladder, but we'll finish the top portion tomorrow. It's a little hard to tell, but it really is lighter than it looks. The color is Anonymous by Behr paint. I love how it looks so far and can't wait to start getting the furniture in the room!
@nlane0723 Love the crib! Are you putting ship lap up on a whole wall? Be sure to post pics when you're done, I'm obsessed with ship lap after watching way too much Fixer Upper!
@MRSCORKER We can't do painting projects anymore after one too many bitchfests while doing it ourselves. After trying dd's nursery a couple years ago, we've hired painters ever since, lol. Glad you guys got the job done!
I think we've decided to go with elephants for the theme in the bedroom, now I'm trying to pick out and decide on what wall stuff I want! These are my favorite so far, what is your guys favs?
@Schell2013 cute! I like pictures 1 and 4 best. Number 3 is cute too, but it seems like those more wordy canvases are on every single nursery Pinterest board and website.
I love them all! It's really hard to just pick one! I love number 1, I might try to paint them myself first before I order some! I make custom home decor signs and stuff but I haven't had to do one so elaborate!

Yay! @nlane0723 They must be clearing these out or something because I got a shipping update that mine should arrive tomorrow already!? Ordered on Sunday. Can't wait to see how they look!
I'm so jealous of all the cribs! We ordered ours yesterday. Hubby is dragging his feet on touching up the paint job, but he did get the curtain rods up. Does anyone else have a man that is NOT handy??? Ugh. I hate the way he hung them, but he'll never get around to patching holes if he moves them so they're staying there. Lol Sorry if the picture is huge, I'm on mobile.
I build everything in our house. Everything. I also fix everything, paint everything, clean everything, etc. The only thing my husband did mostly himself was our barn door baby gates, but I stained them.
This used to be my office, so this is literally as far as I've gotten. We took down my desk and moved my computer to the guest bedroom. I still need to clean out the closet, repaint, and set up the furniture. Crib and changer will be here soon!
We also plan to replace the carpeting, but that will be a little later.

This is me too. My husband is a mechanic, you would think he should be able to assemble a dresser and a crib with minimal swearing and complaining. Nope. I have since assembled EVERY single peice of baby gear or toys.

My husband can paint and he can assemble things (that come with instructions). But he can't fix anything and if I need something hung on the walls.... oh god. Most of our pictures have holes behind them cause he drilled them in the wrong places and/or at an angle.
I need shelves put into the baby's closet and I was hoping he'd buy metal ones that you just hang the tracks and hook them in. Nope. He wants to buy wood, cut it, stain it, and design some fancy closet. It's going to be a mess. I might ask my dad to come do it when hubby is away for work next month.
@krzyriver I wouldn't blame you! There has been lots of times I have had my brother come help me when my hubs has been away working. I just want it my way on some things if you know what I mean.

My husband still hasn't felt the need to move furniture out of the nursery into the other guest room. I cleaned out everything I can move myself. I am feeling like I may just have my dad come over and do it instead like @krzyriver!

@krzyriver and @ibabyloveb87 my husband isn't handy at all, but he builds multi million dollar helicopters for the govt but can't paint or change a light bulb. Thankfully my Dad has been here visiting and he's been such a great help! He's done all the painting and he hung the new curtain rods yesterday. He comes back in July and is redoing and finishing our basement, turning it into a big TV room and playroom. I just feel bad he's in his 70's, but he loves it.

We decided to paint the room a teal color instead of gray. Our colors are teal and coral. BUT, the teal we got a sample of and though would be the PERFECT color was like a horrible neon looking blue when it went on the wall. I'm not sure how this is the case since the swatch looked perfect. Damn it! lol If you know of a beautiful, not so in your face, teal color, please share haha
