@PSUBecky23 - OMG, I just need a bag of white chocolate chips and I have all the rest of the ingredients. Maybe I'll make these tonight, and that way I can bring half of each to the party (AND KEEP THE REST FOR MEEEEE!)
@UnwritteN12 - for congestion, the occasional Sudafed is safe after 1st trimester. I can get really bad congestion and it is the only thing that helps! And I mean the behind-the-counter kind that requires you to show ID. I'm not sure if the other kind is safe.
The other stuff (phenylepherine) would probably be safe for short-term.. but it doesn't have many studies done on it and, to be honest, it's crap. They reformulated pseudoepehdrine so it could no longer be made into meth (Thanks Walter White), and the reformulation just doesn't work nearly as well. Don't bother.
Just watched the PSA about sexual assault put together by the girls from Girls, and I'm sitting here trying not to cry. Why would I watch that at work? Stupid stupid stupid.
I'm supposed to clean and dust around the house today and all I'm doing is bumping and laying around. Might just wait until DH gets home to do anything.
I really want to hold out on Facebook for when this group shifts over there, but part of me is feeling like I need to stop using Facebook until after the election. Tired of seeing everyone's garbage rants.
I think a Recipe board is a great idea! I just had a virgin "blueberry mule" cocktail tonight at a southwestern restaurant with some ladies. It had blueberries lime juice and ginger beer...in one of those fun copper Moscow Mule mugs. Yum!!
It's late, but I am bursting I'm so excited! We just heard that DH's sister is pregnant with #2 due early February! I was somewhat upset about this baby being the only one in the family, and now she won't be! This also means that since his family all lives far away his mother won't be trying to stay with us for months at a time (which was a legitimate concern)!
Being woken up from a dead sleep by an earthquake does not help mommy with her pregnancy insomnia. Hopefully there are a bunch of cute new babies for June that I can go lurk...
I'm too behind to catch up completely but I skimmed. I like the idea of a recipe thread. I even like the idea of two separate ones, because I see people mentioning mock tails, but I'm more interested in make-ahead freezer meals for when baby arrives.
What do you ladies think about threads on the following topics? Is it too early?
- life insurance, wills, other financial stuff - birth plans
Dude, we still do periodic posts about life insurance and wills in my A13 facebook groups because there are several members (with three year olds!) who don't have wills or life insurance. (Yes, I'm judging. It's mind boggling why you wouldn't have that set up for your child.) Never too early to get that taken care of.
I need advice on a purchase... I have an Ergo now but wanted another carrier that was lighter-weight and that would be better at the infant stage. Several people suggested a ring sling. At the advice of @Sporty1216 I joined Babywearing on a Budget on FB and have been "observing" posts for a month or so..
It's so hard! I had no idea there were so many brands and sizes and fabric types and don't know what it all means, haha. Therefore I have been hesitant to purchase anything...
But I did see a post for a Linen Sweet Pea Ring Sling w Pocket...75" long...$75 incl shipping. What do you ladies think? Good price? Brand? Fabric? I'm 5'11...will 75" be long enough? TIA!
Also posted this to the old babywearing thread...gotta move fast on these things!
We're off to Vermont after work tonight.. I'm behind in work with so little motivation to catch up.. but the end of the month is the end of a quarter and I'll have a report due, so really need to kick into high gear... maybe next week
I ordered my double stroller last night. Ended up getting a Contours Options (it's a tandem stroller with a good amount of options for the seats, and has a universal carseat adapter). I'm so excited! Since we got such an awesome deal on our double jogger I decided to get the tandem that I wanted.. and BRU had it marked down from $280 to $180 (probably a new model just came out). We are huge on taking walks, so I'm pretty pumped!
I also need to order my 2nd camera for my monitor soon, these 2 items are pretty much all we really need, and not waiting for our Baby-Q because we've really emphasized that there is no need for gifts.
My stroller is being delivered today! It a been my one major purchase so far and I'm so excited for it!
I think I'll be test-driving mine around with just my 1.5 year old in it when mine arrives. It does show using just the front seat and having a huge under basket for groceries.. maybe we'll give that a shot so I don't look too crazy with a double stroller and just 1 kiddo in it SO EXCITED!
@AnnaS930 I was seriously looking at the Contours Options stroller! Loved all the seat options, and it has good reviews. I would have gotten it if they'd had a deal like that before we bought ours! (We ended up with a side by side, but I like it... or as much as I can for taking DD for a test drive in the garage.)
@JennM205 Got the Hyland night teething tablets last night. DD slept in her crib all night, didn't wake up until 8:15 (sleeping in for her), and woke up happy instead of crying! I don't know that it was 100% the tablets, but I'm giving them to her again tonight. Wish I'd tried them sooner!
@AnnaS930 definitely trying ours out too! I went back and forth between the contours and the one I got, the city select. I never thought I would be this excited about a stroller. What happened to me?!

We don't have a will yet, and still haven't taken out life insurance outside of what DH gets through work (which is not enough). Judge away. I know it hasn't gotten done out of pure laziness on our part. Just like the fact that we've never ordered DD's birth certificate. Now, I'm waiting to just get both at once.
@camichael84 I liked the highlands tabs when emmett was younger because you can give quite a few.. and like I've mentioned before, at least it felt like I was trying to do SOMETHING to help (I hate the helpless feeling of parenting when they're struggling). Yay for McKenna! (Do you capitalize the k? apologies if not!) Hope they continue to work, or at least that the recharged battery helps get her back to her normal self!
@AnnaS930 Yes, capital 'K'. I'm kind of hoping this means she'll let daddy start helping with bedtime again, but that may be wishful thinking. I feel like that may be a phase unrelated to the teething.
@camichael84 Yay! I'm so happy to hear you and McKenna had a better night last night! Those teething tablets...again, I was so skeptical...and maybe it's just a bunch of coincidences in a row...but if not, they're magic, I swear!
@AnnaS930 I so badly want to test drive my stroller but I have no kid and no kids around me and I am pretty sure I would look like a loon wandering the neighborhood with an empty stroller or worse if I put my dog in it.
I took my GD test today at a lab, their were quite a few people in there taking various tests and some of the woman cheered me on as I drank it. lol

Baby #1 DD Born 8/25/2016 BFP: 8/11/18 Due: 4/26/18
@kosmo86 - I have a 12 pound dog, I wore her around in my Ergo for an afternoon last pregnancy. My husband thought I was absolutely loony... it was pretty hilarious, but hey! I got to practice getting the straps on with some weight in it
Edited to clarify: Wore her around IN MY HOUSE. We did not go outside.
My random... we went out and registered yesterday! SIL watched McKenna, so we got some time out by ourselves, too. And, while registering for Layla, we ended up buying McKenna a book, a new spoon and fork (it's Sofia the First... her favorite), and a Little Tykes basketball hoop. I've made myself feel better about it by saying Layla will get use out of all of those things, too.
Re: June Randoms Thread
I'm so excited for you!
checked out instead of worrying.
Maybe we should do a favorite recipe board? Anyone interested? I'm sick of all the food we make and I feel like I always just do the same 5 meals.
I know! It's craziness! It was the first thing I said to my husband. "I've got just over 5 pounds worth of baby in there already!"
I have to laugh at all the people who comment on how small they think I look. Apparently I just carry babies well.

@ajn092 I thought being woken up by a charlie horse was bad! Hope all is well with you and everyone in your area!!
