  • Time is flying by! 3 more months!!
  • How is everybody doing energy wise? I had a small burst around the beginning of second tri, but totally zonked now.
  • @Megan324 That made me curious how many days I have left until my EDD. I went to TB homepage to check. It wasn't on there, but it did say 14w6d. Seeing 14 weeks makes it seem frighteningly close. I have so much to still get done!

  • @fireflygirl12 i am completely wiped out! I'm hoping that I get another burst of energy because Thursday and Friday are about to be really busy days for me

  • I miss being pregnant with no kids to be responsible for. It was so much easier.

So much this. If it was Saturday and I was exhausted, I could take a nap. Now my three year old's nap boycott continues and I get no break until bedtime. And don't get me started on bedtime fun :s

  • @fireflygirl12 My energy level has been in the pits lately!  I'm sleepy-tired all the time - waking up in the mornings is getting harder and harder.  AND I'm just physically exhausted as well.  A single flight of stairs has me huffing and puffing!  I definitely miss that second wind I had in second tri!  Oh well...as @Megan324 and @camichael84 have pointed out...not much further to go!! :flushed:

My random for today is about curtain shopping.  I had NO IDEA how ridiculously difficult it is!  We've had so many issues - it's hard enough finding the right colors/patterns but then trying to find a blackout option?  (Oh, by the way, just because something says "blackout" doesn't mean it is...at all!)  We finally found the perfect curtain for the nursery and I needed four panels.  I bought the first two in store but that was all they had so I ordered two more online.  Shortly after that, I got an email saying my order had been cancelled because the curtains were out of stock (in a specific store I was going to pick up in).  When I looked online at other stores in my area, every single one was out of stock!  So I just ordered straight from the distribution center, hoping that wouldn't get cancelled...got my "processing" email right away but never got an email that the order had actually shipped.  Finally, four days later, I just got the email - the curtains are in the mail!!!

Question.  I will have two showers in one weekend back in my hometown when I am 31 weeks.  The drive being non holiday should only be 9 hours, how bad of a drive would that be (pregnancy/comfortable wise)? Back thoughts, we were thinking flying, then I would fly and he would drive (does not mind driving) and now I'm thinking of flying out and riding back.  The flight is a little less than 100 so the money doesn't really worry me.  I just think it would be odd to fly back on the same day he is driving.  After three more days off (sick or vaca) it will start eating into my paid part of leave.  I originally really really wanted to go back for a week then but doesn't seem practical, so now just take off Friday and Monday....
  • Exactly @psubecky23! And even being able to sleep in on the weekends. Now I have to wheel and deal with DH to get mornings off. That is if he's even home, his travel schedule has been awful lately.
  • @mom2adoodle, can you talk to your MIL about your issues, or have you already BTDT? Is it something that would be easier to have your H talk to her about?
  • I would fly @jhems776. I get pretty uncomfortable being restricted to the same position the whole time. But if you are the passenger, you can at least stretch your legs out/reposition, so maybe not the end of the world.
  • So I was outside for a grand total of 15 mins last night and I have 4 mosquito bites.  Le sigh.
Thankful I don't live anywhere near zika or else I would have to be in a hazmat suit all summer

  • @Megan324 Sounds like we're due on the same day! September 9th? I have had 3 mosquito bites this pregnancy. So so annoying, but I can only worry so much I guess.

No energy to be found here!
  • @jhems776 I would fly one way and drive back the other. Driving both ways back to back could get uncomfortable. But I'd want to spend that time with DH - and have the car for gift transport. We're planning to split up an 11 hour drive into 2 days when I'm 31 weeks (same on the way back at 32 weeks). I plan to bring pillows for back support / position changing.
  • @Sbrown721  yes ma'am! 9/9
I'm hoping he stays in until at least then.
I've got a wedding September 3rd (still mad about it but w.e)

  • @Megan324 My brother's wedding is September 17th in Chicago! I live in CO. Ughhhh I think I am finally admitting to myself that I will not be able to make the wedding, but I feel so horrible about it. I don't want to be flying if I am overdue, I don't want to leave my newborn baby, and I don't want to fly with a newborn baby! I am not sure how to make it up to my brother.
  • Anybody want to pack my house for me?

  • Due 9/12, but likely to schedule the RCS for 9/7--so closing in on 3 months. So crazy. I teeter back and forth between wanting to stretch time out and wanting to just have this baby in my arms! Good thing, I guess, that I don't have a choice. :)
  • @Sbrown721  this wedding is our baby's godfathers!
I posted about it before but here is my rant again lol
They just got engaged in March- fully knowing my due date-
My fiance is the best man.
At best I'm going to be 39 weeks and miserable, at worst I'll have had the baby already and we both miss the wedding of our very close friends.
I 100% understand that your life doesnt revolve around my pregnancy but reallllly. 6 days before I am due?

  • and its also the first wedding of our friend group. I really wish I could enjoy the process more

  • I was the same way when pregnant with DS2 @sporty1216. I was soaking up all the time with my "baby" before he had to share me. I have similar feelings this time since it's my last time bring pregnant. I love baby kicks and will definitely miss them.
  • @megan324 I do remember reading about that wedding! That is so frustrating especially since your fiance is the best man! I guess we'll both just see how it goes as the date gets closer...
  • @Sbrown721 how far is Chicago from Colorado? Is it driving distance?
    Pregnancy Ticker
  • @megan324 It's a 2-day driving trip for sure. 14 hours. Is the wedding you're going to close?
  • @Sbrown721  yikes that would be a lot so soon after delivery
and I actually don't know the location yet but I'm sure it's in town

  • I need to decide this week whether to go on my final work trip mid-July. I'll be 32-33w. The trip is international, so not sure what happens if I were to have the baby, but probably need to look into that.
  • I say fly out, drive back. The length doesn't sound terrible.
Being pregnant without a toddler was easier in a way, but I feel very relaxed this time and being busy is helping the time fly!!

  • For those thinking of traveling late in the pregnancy, make sure you check with your airline on if they'll let you on the plane. Lots of airlines have restrictions on how far along you can be in case you end up in labor mid-fight.

@Jhems776 as someone who just did 20 hours at 24 weeks, i'd definitely say fly one way at the least.   As to driving there or driving back? I'd say drive there with DH and fly back.   Why?  Because driving there you'd have more room to stretch out and relax in the car and sit/lay in the back if needed.   Driving back, after having two showers, every inch of your car will be filled and finding a comfy position will be hard to come by.
  • The room that will be our nursery needs some serious construction (aka carpets ripped up, floor replaced. awful paneling removed, possibly walls replaced, ceiling repaired, oh and a 4th wall with door and closet built) plus the removal of 2 fish tanks (25 and 75 gallons each). My husband and parents have it in their minds that I cannot help AT ALL, so guess how much work has been done? That's right, absolutely nothing! My husband, the love of my life, agreed that it would all be done by July 25th, so I can have the month of August to set everything up (my shower is August 8th). Now that it is JUNE, and 98 days from my EDD, I am having a bit more trouble keeping the faith. But there is nothing I can do/no reason to remind him about it, since he knows the calendar is moving and the baby is coming, right? I just keep telling her to stay in there until September 7th, or else she may have to sleep in a drawer in the kitchen!
  • Yay for June!

@skirtandsandals I'm right there with you girl. I have nothing done to the nursery- it's still our guest room. I wanted it done by the end of June since my husband will be gone first few weeks of July and I will be gone the second half. It's not looking too promising :( plus I still have to sell my jeep and get a new car. We can do it!!!

On a side note - I guess my toddler decided to throw one of her baby dolls in the pool yesterday. I walked outside to finish planting flowers and saw it and I about DIED. I thought it was a real baby. Talk about a freaking panic attack

once I realized I just put Cameron in her crib and D is at school I calmed down.

The airline I'm flying has no restrictions for pregnancy and my OB is OK with it. Just need to decide if I'm OK with it. The flight I can handle, but it's the 12-16hr days on my feet once I get there that might push me over.
  • Hmm, do you WANT to go? I'd be cool with that kind of work trip if it was for a conference or meetings, but on your feet all day sounds pretty intense. On the other hand, company paid euro travel could be fun, especially since you'll be likely travel-less for a while after baby. I think it's up to you and whether it's appealing. I traveled for work up to 34 weeks last time, but it was US travel, and my husband could have made the 12 hr drive to get to me if any surprises popped up.
  • @abberson I do want to go, but I did my last trip last pregnancy at 30w so not sure how much more tiring it will be. I wish it was Europe, but it's just Toronto :). I wouldn't even count it as international, except there are some things I probably need to look into as far as possibly having baby there and how that works.
