Re: Newborn Questions
We called the pedi and were told that it's completely normal, but it's really hard to hear Emily breathe like that. We have an appointment on Wednesday, but in the meantime: have/are any of you dealing with this, and do you have any suggestions for helping clear it?
DD: 05/14/16
This is probably stupid but my mom brought it up and it made me all paranoid. Then I had to google it and came up on this. Is cell phone radiation being harmful to babies ....really a thing?
if so, my LO is so screwed. I had my cell phone with me since Day 1 and I play with my phone all the time near him.
That is terrifying!
If DS falls asleep after nursing I put him down to sleep. If he's fussy I'll burp him and he'll usually fall asleep on my chest. Sometimes he will burp once but not always. My mil says I need him to burp 2 or 3 times. Is this true? Should I wake him up to burp? That seams to start the nursing cycle all over before he will sleep. He's BF with no bottle yet.
We are going through the witching hour and cluster feeding phase so I assumed the fussing was related to that not trapped gas since the rest of the day he will fall asleep fine without a burp. DH thinks he should be burped more.
ezra, DH, and I are going on a 3 hour car ride tomorrow. Ezra does really great in the car (once you get him in) and I'm sure he'd let me know if he was hungry but I'm wondering if I should let him out at some point to stretch or change positions or if it's okay to leave your baby in the car seat for 3 hours (if he's eaten and clean and sleeping he could go that long before needing me again).
Saturday night to today was somewhat different... LO slept for an hour, then fed, then slept for 1.5 hours and is now feeding again. I'm hoping this was a fluke because we've had major storms all night with lightning lighting up the house constantly and thunder crashing for hours on end now. I could barely sleep! (Although apparently DH can sleep through the damn huns attacking outside.)
4hrs is honestly the longest we've ever gotten over night and frankly, I'm thrilled with that! Up until now, I've been in camp 2 hrs or less of sleep per night. Hang in there and know you can and will get through it! Mommas with fussy, non sleeping babies of the world unite!
ok we have been discussing how EBF babes don't burp as much - on the rare occasion mine does burp,
sometimes milk comes out her nose? I don't remember this, so therefore I'm asking, is this normal??
@That1didntcount, yup, pediatrician said it was normal. It's just rather gross when they sneeze it into your hair. Yuck...
If you have a 2-3 hour feeder, then you could probably start drinking coffee at the tail end of your feed and by the time you go to feed your LO next time, the caffeine shouldn't be in your milk anymore. But I'm not a doctor - this is all info I've learned from kellymom and other breastfeeding resources.
