I told my boss she should just let me work out of the bathroom since I'm in there like 15 times a day. I'd sure get more work done then I do now running back and forth so many times. I don't remember ever going this much with my first!
I'm on day 4 of dealing with irregular, painful contractions. Had an appointment yesterday with a non-stress test that confirmed all of the contractions I was having, so at least I know I'm not crazy and they are definitely really happening. I'm already scheduled for a csection on Thursday the 19th at 37.4 weeks due to gestational hypertension, so I'm just holding out hope we make it that far. 2 more days of baking, baby girl! Despite feeling awful and dealing with these contractions for days, I know it's best to let them stay in and develop as long as possible!
Also marveling at how different each pregnancy can be. My first was nothing like this. Wasn't an easy pregnancy by any means, but not like this!
Literally counting down the seconds until my hubby walks in the door. 12 1/2 hours by myself with two 2 1/2 yr olds is far more then I can deal with at 37 weeks pregnant. As I finished writing this I heard the garage door open. Off I go to lock my self in the bath for an hour.
Why at the doctors office do I still pee all on myself and the floor so that I get to clean up my mess and get so out of breathe because I am bending over!!!! Wish I could pee in the cup without all of the drama.

I find it next to impossible and totally uncomfortable to try to get pee in that cup. They really need to give me one of those little kid catch basins already! I just hunch over on the toilet and try to put the cup somewhere near the stream... but it's totally blind. And that's when I actually am able to get over my shy bladder enough to pee.

Anyone else commence home remedies to encourage labour?
I'm just 36 weeks today, but I've already started symptom spotting for labor signs. Had a couple light cramps this afternoon that were out of the ordinary. I'll see at my appt today what it means, but I can already imagine having to talk myself off the ledge because of a few twinges.

Meeeeeeee!!!! But you knew that lol. So far, both pineapple and sex have failed. Next on the list is raspberry leaf tea, followed by a beer if necessary (wtf am I talking about, of course it's necessary.....). Judge away, if you must! I don't care

I just doused my Mac and cheese with sriracha sauce, not necessarily as a labor inducer but because I like it that way... As I was eating it I was thinking of all the N/V/D implications that could follow...
The last week or so I've been having daily headaches that are kicking my butt and really ruining my motivation to do anything other than sit and stare into space while I drink water. @meggyme I also have a ton of end of the school year busy work piled on my desk and nothing at all about this headache makes me think staring at a computer screen doing data entry for hours is going to help. I've packed up as much as I can into boxes but I still need to be able to get to some stuff because we have 3.5 weeks left in school. Basically, I'm at that point where I am trying to force myself to get this done in case I have the baby early and I'm still dragging. I'm done with the fun parts of my job where I'm spending most of my time with kids and now I just want to be done.
@alitria I've been having headaches lately too. I attributed them to the fluorescent lighting I've been subjected to at our labor classes and here at work. That coupled with swollen hands/legs and carpal tunnel, I'm so over it...

Well I have been contracting off and on since 430 am, so I decided I should prepare myself by getting the kitchen clean just in case it leads to the real deal. Now that I'm done cleaning it I figure that I probably jinxed myself and nothing will happen now.
Called my dr office and he told me to take DayQuil sinus since my head is also all stuffy just for today, and to use chloroseptic throat spray. I'm going to go eat a banana, soak in the bathtub and go back to bed because today is not looking like a productive day for me at all.
I *think* my GBS came back positive. I got a test result from my OB yesterday saying I'm "isolated". From my googling that means they found GBS in my culture. I'm going to call the doc at lunch today to confirm and ask a few questions, but my main concern is whether or not it will affect when I need to arrive at the hospital. I was planning to labor at home with H and my doula and I'm not sure how that will be effected if I need to get antibiotics.

I'm GBS positive this time around and my OB told me that I need to go to the hospital when labor begins and not to stay and labor at home. Maybe yours will say different though? You can also check with your doula.

That's what I was afraid of... From what I've read online, the biggest concern is when your water breaks. At that point your infection free labor "clock" gets decreased from ~24hrs to 18hrs.

I am 35 weeks pregnant as of yesterday. I know that doesn't seem very exciting, but I've never been 35 weeks pregnant before and after my appointment yesterday, my OB thinks it's possible I'll make it to term, or at least 36 weeks. I'm cautiously excited by the possibility of a "typical" birth and really hoping I can make it to 37 and the waterbirth I really want. Most important of all, I might actually get to leave with hospital WITH my baby and my husband might be there for the birth. This entire pregnancy there has been this knot of anxiety about how early this baby would come and if it would be even earlier than my son and what that could mean. I know that making it this far is not a guarantee that nothing will go wrong, but it feels like it's one thing I can let go of and focus on the positives.

Congratulations! That's exciting and hopefully as each day passes you can breathe a little easier. Unless kiddo is kicking your lungs. Then it'll just be figurative easy breathing.

@meggyme At my appointment yesterday the doctor asked me how my breathing was, because my asthma has been really difficult to manage this pregnancy after being mostly controlled for 20 years. I just looked at her and started laughing. Um, well, except for the baby taking up half of my lung capacity, I guess it's ok? When she saw the look on my face she actually said "I guess that's not a realistic question to ask right now." However, my first son had this habit of planting his tiny baby heel between two of my ribs and pushing himself into new positions that way to the point that my rib wasn't quite in the right place and since it was a rib I'd previously broken, it was extra painful. So far, this little guy has not discovered that trick and my sciatica is present, but not nearly so bad as it was last time. Thank you, baby #2! I do look forward to taking a deep breath and eating a full meal though!

My mom keeps telling me a story about how my Dad almost crashed the car because she screamed when my foot got caught in her ribs somehow. Luckily I have a pretty long torso, so she hasn't been cramping my lungs much (almost 37 weeks, so there's still plenty of time) but she has been kicking me in the ribs a lot. I've had great posture lately though. She hates to be scrunched when I slouch.

@MillerMama13 Oooooh that looks divine!! I get some Ben & Jerry's from the corner shop periodically but end up just eating all the cookie dough out of it in the first sitting. I have an eggless cookie dough recipe too, works wonders when all I really want is to gorge myself on cookie dough and watch a chick flick (I swear I'm not a stereotype...okay maybe just a little bit).
I have always wanted nice, long legs but at 5'4" I still buy tall tank tops because I'm all torso and stumpy little legs. Pregnancy is the one time in my life when I actually appreciate that.

This is what I was told as well. To go as soon as my water breaks, or once labor begins (timable contractions) to ensure that I get the full round of antibiotics.
So at 39 weeks I just got my first rude comment/question. While walking in the park a couple approached while I was having one of my contractions.. "oh are you having contractions?". I respond "that's our hope haha" and then... "well have you lost your mucus plug??".........
A random guy on the street said "Congratulations" to me this morning. I guess it's nice to say that to a clearly 9 month pregnant woman, but I still think it's weird.

Whenever people say that to me (primarily waiters) I always stare at them thinking, "Did I just win something?" Then I remember, "Oh that's right, I'm a planet..." makes me irritated every damn time. Don't trick a pregnant woman into thinking she's just won free food.

I really hope you asked an equally personal question back!

My only hope was one was a dr... I got nothing lol!
