@Knottie1456036854 Thank you, I've fixed the issue and made the spreadsheet editable by anyone who has the link, sorry about that! I went ahead and made the changes to your dates
Welcome @rmarble23 and @OCfortythree to the group! I've added you to our little spreadsheet so you will be included in the next update!

@wifeinraleight28 I'm sorry to hear your IUI didn't work FX everything goes smoothly to qualify for the Megaset trial. That spreadsheet is AWESOME!! Thank you so much for putting that together! It definitely will help us keep track of everyone.
@wifeintaleigh28 I'm so sorry your last IUI didn't work, but I'm so excited you're finally getting the ball rolling on IVF!! Woohoo! Love the spreadsheet!
@cmm012 hope you're feeling better after getting the fluid drained! That procedure does NOT sound fun! Fingers and toes crossed it will all be worth it for you!
i was a little MIA this weekend so sorry I am just now getting caught up on everyone! Hoping our little June/July crew gets lots of good news this week with all the stages of the journey we are on!

@wifeinraleigh28 love love love the spreadsheet! I get so behind sometimes I don't get to congratulate anyone b/c I can't remember who's doing what.
asm - Just waiting around to start something. I had some b/w and u/s done last week to see what's what after my cancelled cycle earlier this month. She called and said there was a problem with my negative progesterone until i explained AF came later that day, so now I'm back on track. I'll be on a new protocol that I've never heard of - she's calling it the Garza protocol from her mentor out of San Diego. I'm not sure of the details, but it starts with Ganirelex, then Follistim and Menopur, then all three at the end. Anyone heard of this?
Me & DH - 41, DH has a cyst blocking his tubes, I'm just old. IVF #1 scheduled May 2016 - 375/525 follistim, 75 menopur - cancelled cycle Day 6 IVF #2 scheduled July 2016 - new protocol, switcharoo...IUI June 2016 - BFN IVF#3 scheduled August 2016 - estrogen & testosterone primed for 3 wks - ganirelix 7 days leading up to stim - 500 follistim, 75 menopur, 150 clomid , no follicle growth on day 6, stopped injectibles. Scanned day 9 just to check, some growth, 3 days 200 mg clomid, day 12 more growth, 100 follistim, 75 menopur, start ganirelix on day 13, ER = 0 eggs, ovulated to soon ( ) IVF#4 scheduled Sept 2016 - Microdose Flare protocol, cancelled stim day 6 converted to IUI (one dominant follicle) IUI cancelled ovulated too soon again. Taking a mental health break. IVF#5 December 2016 - New protocol, same results. My adventure is over.
We have some new faces that I've included in the spreadsheet!
AFM- My latest update is that I have a consultation appointment scheduled for June 2nd with the doctor at my clinic in charge of the Megaset Trial. I'll hopefully know more after that appointment. I can't begin the actual screening process for the trial until I've been one month free from treatment, which the nurse in charge said will be June 7th (exactly one month since I took Ovidrel for my May IUI). So I'll hopefully get that taken care of either on the 7th or shortly after so that I can find out ASAP if I qualify... (I should).
Hi everyone! Was away in Colorado for a family wedding this weekend so I've been MIA. Will try to catch up with all the posts tonight (it's a little tricky to do so at work! )
@wifeinraleigh28 awesome spreadsheet! thanks for putting it all together!
AFM - this week (or possibly early next week) we should be getting my sisters results back, and hopefully the lab can start the genetic probe very soon after that. My RE told me that for this disease, it can take "up to 8 weeks to build;" the genetics lab told me "probably 3, maybe 4 weeks".........so I'm FXing that the lab is right!
Waiting for AF to arrive in early June so I can start the BCPs again. Not quite sure WHEN i should be expecting it...they had me start when AF arrived at the beginning of May, then had me stop about 7 or 8 days later, and then I had a mini-AF a few days after that. Not sure if I should be counting that or not...have any of you ladies ever have something similar?
@cmm012 I'm happy to hear some of the fluid is gone.
@wifeinraleigh28 so sorry you've found yourself on this post but that's really good news you'll be doing a trail, and soon! We signed our forms two weeks ago and still don't have an er date.
afm I'm going in for an us on wed to see the thickness of my lining. The nurse believes I'll need an updated cd3 bw bc my last one was 5 months ago but I'm hopeing the re will say I'm good to start bcp and they can get things moving.
Hi everyone! I've been reading and trying to get the courage up to join the community again. I found out my first frozen cycle did not work on May 10, and it's been a roller coaster since then. We met with the doctor to see where to from here, and now we're gearing up for round 2. Her number one tips were to reduce stress, live a healthy life and not stress My best guess for now is our next transfer will be in mid July. We're going on vacation for 4th of July with some friends to the mountains, and think it will be a really great, calm, centering time to get ready for the next round.
@rmarble23@cmm012 and @lilmissslp this is a topic i've given a lot of thought to lately. I really struggle with telling people what's going on. With our first round, both of our families knew, and neither one knew what to say when the FET didn't work. As far as coworkers, some of them knew as well, as well as some very well meaning friends. I found it really hard to talk about it when it wasn't successful, and don't plan on sharing details on this next round with anyone so that I won't have the same situation where people ask the day of the beta the results.

@gatorlorit Welcome! Going on vacation will be a huge stress relief! When DH and I started talking IVF with my doctor in February, we asked if we should postpone a cruise that we had planned for last month, and she was all, "Eff no! Go on the cruise, relax, have the time of your life, and don't think about any of this medical stuff until you return!" We had a great time, and we did return much more relaxed!
ETA @wifeinraleigh28 So sorry that your IUI didn't work out! But it looks like now we are possible cycle buddies!
@wifeinraleigh28 thanks so much for adding me to the spreadsheet - it's awesome! I'm sorry you are going through what you are but looks like we're around a similar timeframe now - at least for the egg retrieval. I'll pray for you!
@gatorlorit - one of my girlfriends who is the same age as I am had two failed IUIs, followed by two failed IVFs. Her RE told her to take some time off and relax. They went to Italy on vacation and she got pregnant naturally and is now mother to a healthy 1 year old little girl. There's hope, people - keep the faith!! I should state that she was getting acupuncture and definitely thinks that helped. xo

@gatorlorit Welcome to our thread! I hope this time your FET works. It's really great that you are trying again.
AFM- I went to the doc today for a follow-up and my left ovary is still quite enlarged (over eight centimeters). I have some discomfort there and in my lower belly in general. AF started this morning, so today would have been CD1 for my FET. I was thinking last night that I am not ready for more hormones and medications. The doc suggested I wait another cycle since things still aren't looking as good as he would like. I am perfectly okay with it and a little relieved.
Out of 10 embryos, 1 stopped growing, and 6 are going to be biopsied and frozen today. The remaining three still need to grow.
That's it for now. I hope everyone progress well today and this week.

@gatorlorit I'm sorry you find yourself back here after a failed cycle But we're happy to have you nonetheless. You make a good point about deciding to tell people... I can imagine how painful it would be to have to tell people about BFNs. I never told anyone besides my mom when we were doing IUIs so she was the only one I had to update. Anyway, welcome, and hopefully this next one will be the one for you!!
@ale9687 What trial are you participating in? Is it also the megaset trial? I hope you won't have to wait too long to get a timeline! They told me that once we sign consents I just need to wait for my next period to start stims.
@OCfortythree You are so sweet, and I'm so glad to have others (like you) who are going through this stuff at the same time. To be completely honest, the only part that really terrifies me is the egg retrieval. I hope it isn't as bad as I've imagined in my mind! The doctors also aren't helping by telling me I'm high risk for OHSS. Ack
@cmm012 I'm sorry you're still experiencing discomfort, and really glad that you are postponing until you feel better. All that does is give you better chances, as your body will be more ready to accept a pregnancy. That's great news that 6 of your embies have made it to freezing!

@caseyw8784 It's totally normal to bleed after going off BCPs. When women are on BCPs long term, they usually go off for a few days a month (and just take sugar pills) so they have a chance to bleed. Since there were no ovulation on BCPs, it's not technically a period, but it feels like a light period.

Hey all. In regards to OHSS, the nurses were saying that they rarely have cases as bad as mine. The doc said he's only had to drain 3 people in the past several years.
@wifeinraleigh28Your doctors seem to know you might overstim, so I'm sure they planned your meds appropriately. Please don't let me story scare you.

@wifeinraleigh28 I'm actually not in a trial, I was posting at work I between emails should have specified we just did consent forms for ivf in general. I tried searching and I don't think there's even one I would qualify for my re sets the er date just based on his schedule, I hope to get the date wed at my apt.
@cmm012 I hope you're right... I don't know everything about the trial I'll be participating in, but it scares me a little bit knowing I have to follow the trial's protocol. Hopefully it will be fine though. I'm sorry you're going through this.

@wifeinraleigh28 Thanks! I just updated my info (again....have actual info to add now!)
FINALLY after being TEN days late, I started my period. Sheesh. So I called my clinic and they emailed me a schedule.
I start BCPs today, then add in Lupron 6/6. Suppression check 6/15, and start Vivelle patches 6/16. 6/29 lining check (and this is where I think things will fall off the rails and I will need some extra meds/days to get my lining where it needs to be. My body is stubborn); then transfer 7/5-7/8 ( I was optimistic and put 7/6 on our little calendar).

Oh, I forgot to add. They just told me I will need to have a saline US next week. Anyone familiar with this? That wasn't in our original schedule/discussion.

@Knottie1456036854 saline u/s are no big deal just a normal u/s but they stick a tiny catheter in there too and fill you with water. when you are finished and sit up its like you wet yourself, little embarrassing but no different feeling from a normal internal u/s. I had to have one twice before and after a fibroid removal surgery.
Ahhh.. Thanks @rmarble23 for the info. Sounds like a pretty quick process. I generally walk over from work to my appointments (I work in a hospital 3 blocks away), so I can probably fit this into a lunchbreak.

@wifeinraleigh28 so sorry you are here but thank you for that chart. You are amazing! I had two failed iuis and I am starting my first Ivf cycle too. Good luck to you!
So sorry to hear about the bfn @wifeinraleigh28! That chart is awesome!! Hoping you can get started on your IVF cycle soon!
I did my first round of stims tonight! It was much better than I thought it would be! The Menopur burned pretty bad but it wasn't bad at all. I iced before and put heat on after.
One question- it was super hard for me to get the Menopur out into the syringe- the needle is a 30 1/2 or something like that. It literally took forever. For those that have used Menopur... Did you all use a bigger needle to get out the liquid and then swap needle for injection? I feel like this would make it easier. I'm going to call my RE tomorrow to see but I figured I'd ask.

Wow, there's so many ladies on here. I've been trying to catch up on all the posts.
@amos1417 - what vitamins and supplements did you add/change? Has your RE checked your fsh/lh ratio to diagnosis your PCOS? Did you ask about using melatonin to help with egg quality? I read an article about PCOS patients having improved egg quality using melatonin so I used it in my second IVF and had better quality, made it to a day 5 transfer vs my first attempt was a day 3 transfer with nothing left to freeze.
@AandDM2014 - did you find out why your RE wants to wait another cycle? That's frustrating, I hope they have an actual reason.
@Knottie1456036854- i actually had my saline hysteroscopy today. The medical assistant said it wasn't really that bad then asked if I took ibuprofen. I said if it's not that bad why would I have taken ibuprofen. So she went and got me some. They did a mock transfer first which went fine, but then when they tried to get the catheter in for the hysteroscopy they had some difficulty and it felt like it took forever. So I had a lot of cramps after, like a bad period. And I've had light bleeding all day. So I don't know if that's how it usually is, but that was my experience.
@cmm012- wow, so sorry you had to deal with OHSS! Do you know if that's what's the norm, draining without anesthesia? That sounds painful. I'm so glad you're feeling better and that you decided to wait another cycle, you don't want to get pregnant while you're still so uncomfortable. Congrats on all your frosties

@chicandbubbly, we use a Q-Cap which is really easy. I've heard of people using an intramuscular needle to draw it up and mix it and then swap the needle for a subcutaneous needle.

@cat4151 The needle has to go through the vaginal wall, so local anesthesia isn't an option. I'm guessing the risks of general anesthesia don't outweigh the benefits since the procedure is so short. I've been doing some research on the procedure, and I think what I experienced is pretty common.

Hello, I guess I kind of fall into this group as well. I'm currently on day 6 of stim meds (gonal & menopur). I feel like I should just go camp out at my doctors. I had to go in Friday, yesterday, today, and I go back Thursday. I know its all part of the process. Also, my left ovary is "hiding" behind my uterus right now, and they said it could go back into place but if it doesn't it may make it so we can only use the right for my ER. They show 16 follicles on the Left and 23 on the right. Up from the original numbers they had told me. Kind of bummed about the left one not cooperating and wondering how I can jiggle that darn thing back into place. It's also crampy, so I'm hoping that goes away.
me:41 dh:42 me:PCOS, blocked left fallopian tube, hyperprolactinemia (dh's swimmers are perfect/normal) Tried 3 rounds of clomid with Ovidrel trigger (BFNs) May/June 2016 IVF 6/1 ER 7 eggs retrieved, 7 fertilized via ICSI 6 embryos made it to blasts. 6/6 2 AA embryos transfered, 4 BBs frozen Beta 6/18 -- BFN FET #1 August 22 BFN Dec 2016/Jan 2017 Round 2 was a bust. 6 eggs, Only 1 embryo made it, no transfer FET #2 cancelled 10/17 due to uterine polyps. FET #3 9/11/18 Uterine scratch and antihistamine protocol/lovenox done this time. 2 AA hatching blasts put in. BFP 9/20/18!!
@sleepyrn Welcome! You'll fit right in! Some of us have started stims already, some of us are about to, and there might be some (other than me!) probably/possibly won't start until the end of June/July but wanted to be active and support everyone while we wait.
That's interesting about your left ovary....did your doctor say why it is hiding like that? If you can only use the right, at least that one has more follicles at the moment!
Re: June/July IVF or FET
Welcome @rmarble23 and @OCfortythree to the group! I've added you to our little spreadsheet so you will be included in the next update!

AFM - (1) AF finally arrived. I've never had a sickness push out my cycle by 2.5 weeks, but that is what happened. (2) DH is feeling a lot better - finally! He did regress during the week and went to the urologist again. Range still is a virus to cancer. And then, voila, he started feeling better. He'll still do the tests etc. and has follow-up appt June 9 so we can know more, but I now feel like we are going to be on the best end of the range. Yeah! (3) I moved our IVF to the August cycle. I just didn't know what June was going to bring, and I don't think all of the stress related to hubby would be helpful to me on my last IVF journey. August cycle begins August 1. So, I won't be too far behind you guys, but won't be part of the July group.
PS - No offer on the house yet

FX everything goes smoothly to qualify for the Megaset trial. That spreadsheet is AWESOME!! Thank you so much for putting that together! It definitely will help us keep track of everyone.
@cmm012 hope you're feeling better after getting the fluid drained! That procedure does NOT sound fun! Fingers and toes crossed it will all be worth it for you!
@stranzm glad your hubby is feeling better!

asm - Just waiting around to start something.
IVF #1 scheduled May 2016 - 375/525 follistim, 75 menopur - cancelled cycle Day 6
IVF #2 scheduled July 2016 - new protocol, switcharoo...IUI June 2016 - BFN
IVF#3 scheduled August 2016 - estrogen & testosterone primed for 3 wks - ganirelix 7 days leading up to stim - 500 follistim, 75 menopur, 150 clomid , no follicle growth on day 6, stopped injectibles. Scanned day 9 just to check, some growth, 3 days 200 mg clomid, day 12 more growth, 100 follistim, 75 menopur, start ganirelix on day 13, ER = 0 eggs, ovulated to soon (
IVF#4 scheduled Sept 2016 - Microdose Flare protocol, cancelled stim day 6 converted to IUI (one dominant follicle)
(I should).

@wifeinraleigh28 so sorry you've found yourself on this post but that's really good news you'll be doing a trail, and soon! We signed our forms two weeks ago and still don't have an er date.
afm I'm going in for an us on wed to see the thickness of my lining. The nurse believes I'll need an updated cd3 bw bc my last one was 5 months ago but I'm hopeing the re will say I'm good to start bcp and they can get things moving.
@rmarble23 @cmm012 and @lilmissslp this is a topic i've given a lot of thought to lately.
Trying to conceive since May 2015

ETA @wifeinraleigh28 So sorry that your IUI didn't work out! But it looks like now we are possible cycle buddies!
I should state that she was getting acupuncture and definitely thinks that helped. xo

So sorry to hear about the bfn @wifeinraleigh28
I did my first round of stims tonight! It was much better than I thought it would be! The Menopur burned pretty bad but it wasn't bad at all. I iced before and put heat on after.
One question- it was super hard for me to get the Menopur out into the syringe- the needle is a 30 1/2 or something like that. It literally took forever. For those that have used Menopur... Did you all use a bigger needle to get out the liquid and then swap needle for injection? I feel like this would make it easier. I'm going to call my RE tomorrow to see but I figured I'd ask.
@mtpbadger - congrats on 8 frozen! That's great!
@FatPony - my FET will be $3500
@cmm012- wow, so sorry you had to deal with OHSS! Do you know if that's what's the norm, draining without anesthesia? That sounds painful. I'm so glad you're feeling better and that you decided to wait another cycle, you don't want to get pregnant while you're still so uncomfortable. Congrats on all your frosties

That's interesting about your left ovary....did your doctor say why it is hiding like that? If you can only use the right, at least that one has more follicles at the moment!
