How far along were you/will you be? 20 weeks 1 day
How did it go? It went well, but Bojangles was butt side up, so we didn't get many good pictures out of it, but he is looking healthy! They will do another u/s in 4 weeks to check on growth and to double-check his heart as he didn't want to give us a good view of it this time around.
Did you learn anything new about you or baby? He's still 3 days ahead and measuring in at 12 ounces.
When is/was your scan? This morning! How far along were you/will you be? 17w6d but the US tech said it was measuring at 18w5d. How did it go? Great! It lasted about 30 minutes. She measured arms and legs and spine and head, etc. We saw its fingers and toes. And saw it hiccupping! We have a CD now of pics and little movie clips. Did you learn anything new about you or baby? Just that it looks perfect and is measuring ahead. I am very relieved. Still team green!
Wasn't it a problem that you didn't want to know the sex? I'm afraid that it'll be obvious even to me if not this time, then at week 28. How do they work around that?
Our AS will is three days from now (19+6), I'm very excited, especially that I started to feel the baby move only about a week ago.
How did it go? Great! The tech had a hard time getting the HB at first b/c our little girl was moving around so much, making other noise. It was great to see since I hadn't felt anything yet.... BUT I felt the first movement during the US. It makes me wonder if maybe I've felt things before and just haven't really noticed or assumed it was something else. Either way, all was well with our LO yay!
@annabenanna and @MRSCORKER .... what prompted them to let you know about the AP? Was getting a view more difficult or anything like that? I ask b/c I wonder if I have one and just haven't been told since I'm not feeling much movement but each US shows her moving around like crazy.
When is/was your scan? First thing this morning!!!
How far along were you/will you be? 19+1
How did it go? It was awesome!! Baby was super cooperative and we got some really great pictures. Doctor said everything looks perfect!! Sooo in love!! Especially with those little toes
Did you learn anything new about you or baby? It's a BOY!!!! (and we aren't sharing with our friends until we can get our families together in another week so y'all are getting top secret information!)

@bnsmith85 The tech was pointing out what everything on the US was and she pointed to the placenta and then mentioned that because of it's location, it would "act as a cushion".

@bnsmith85 , it was because baby was using the placenta as his pillow and he was trying to explain how the baby is positioned... He was also explaining to us how babies like to stay close to the placenta probably because it is soft, etc... he then proceeded to tell us that I had an anterior placenta, and it was smack right in the middle (that that was a good thing---no obstruction). He explained that some placentas are off to the side and also explained what placenta previa was.
I think he mainly mentioned it because SO and I were asking a ton of questions. ha.
When is/was your scan? My scan was yesterday, May 16
How far along were you/will you be? I was 19 weeks on the dot.
How did it go? Good, but it took a long time (hour and ten minutes of pushing on my full bladder). I got to see the heart beating, him moving around, his hands and feet, and of course every chance he got, he had to show me his junk lol.
Did you learn anything new about you or baby? I learned it was a boy but I also learned that I have a 2 vessel umbilical cord. Of course that makes me a bit scared but it looks like this can still be a very healthy and normal pregnancy - I'll just have some extra ultrasounds to ensure growth is on track and I'll be having an echo to ensure baby's heart is good (even though I saw it yesterday and it looks great).
In canada they don't tell you the sex in the ultrasound they turn screen peak then turn it back they send the results of sex to the Dr which you can call and get 24 hours later. We are going team Green because we have done prepared pink and blue we just want to feel the excitement of not knowing till the second it comes into the world. However I am dutch so our male children tend to have ears that stand out in an ultrasound lol. So if it's a boy I'll know just from the giant ears.
I think it depends on the lab, because my ultrasound technician told me the gender (a boy) but wouldn't write it down, and I'm in Toronto. Funny thing my doctor today didn't even mention the gender to me.
How did it go? Great! Baby is healthy -- so thankful!! He/she was wiggling around like crazy the whole time. Baby was suckling, probably because I hadn't eaten breakfast yet! Got some 3D photos - I was really happy because we didn't get any with our first because he was hiding behind the placenta.
Did you learn anything new about you or baby? Measuring 1 day ahead, but other than that, nothing out of the ordinary. Loved seeing my baby on screen
Our appointment is Monday, May 23rd. I'm soooooo anxious/excited but SO so scared/nervous. I was very sick this pregnancy and have taken Zofran a lot. I took it with my first and our son is 100% healthy.. but I haven't seen this baby since 7 weeks and I'm terrified something will be wrong with her. Sorry to be a debbie downer but I just had to get that off my chest... praying everything goes well. 6 more days!!

Thanks! I guess I'll have to ask some questions at my next appt. We were just so awestruck that we didn't think of any questions at the time.
Had mine today with MFM. I'm technically high-risk because of age, so we got to have a fairly in-depth ultrasound. (At least, that's how it was presented to us. I've never done this before so I'll take their word for it.) Everything looked great - healthy and strong, no red flags or anything, so that was reassuring of course. And we learned it's a boy! Which is not at all what we expected, but hooray! The doctor just looked really fast and was like "yep, looks like a boy." At first I wanted to ask if he was sure, but then the logical part of me kicked in and realized that yeah, he did it quickly but he also does this all the time and he didn't hesitate so probably a preeeetty safe bet that he's right.
We learned that our kid is not about to have his picture taken before he's ready though. The doctor tried to get a decent 3D image of his face but he had his hand over it like he was having none of this nonsense.
We're not going out and telling everybody what we're having but if word trickles out that's fine. We let immediate family know, but aren't putting it on FB or anything. And we're hoping that, if people give gifts, they try to keep things relatively gender-neutral but we'll see how that goes.

@cd92007 You have nothing to worry about. Studies on Zofran have shown that it does not have a higher risk of deformities or abnormalities when compared to pregnancies where it was not taken. Good luck at your ultrasound!
How far along were you/will you be? 20w 4d How did it go? Fine. It was my fourth AS and was kind of boring. DH and I both started to nod off because we're terrible! Haha, but our tech barely spoke. She did take like 15 measurements of my cervix which was weird. But she also kept putting "long cervix" so, I don't know! Also, she printed out like three pictures of the baby's "lips and chin". I think she might have been new. LOL
Did you learn anything new about you or baby? We learned that it's another GIRL. Omg. I really wanted to be Team Green and DH really wanted to know so we found out plus I get a trip to a giant fabric store and can spend whatever I want there so and he's ordering the kids a swing set which they've been begging for, so it was worth it. Gotta love bribes!
Anyway, she looked good, was measuring right on track for my 10/1 due date and was 13oz. Same as my last DD.
Thank you @von1976 your comment helped calm my nerves. I cannot wait until Monday!! I remember you also had bad morning sickness, are you feeling better? Hoping so!
Had mine done two weeks ago, team green. Can't believe I'm saying that! They called me Monday and told me that baby looks great but my placenta is low-lying so they want me to do another at 27 weeks. Hoping everything turns out okay and excited to see the babe again!
Did you guys have your ultrasound with your regular OB or a different doctor/office?
I'm so confused... my scan is scheduled for two weeks from now with a doctor that appears to be another OB-GYN for high risk pregnancies (and I'm not high risk). I told my doctor's receptionist that I needed to schedule my 20 week scan and she just gave me this random number and told me to schedule it 30 minutes before my next apt with my OB. After going back and forth between the two offices several times to get two appointments around the same time, I finally have an appointment for June 2. I looked up the ultrasound place online and it appears to be a high-risk prenatal consulting firm. It is a totally different place from where I had my confirmation ultrasound at 8 weeks. AND, I was told that I would be meeting with a doctor from the firm.... so basically I have the ultrasound, meet with a new doctor, then go meet with my doctor. This seems weird to me. Has anyone else had this experience? I could ask my doctor's office, but their receptionists are the WORST!!!!!!
@strickland8052 I think that might be common for the anatomy scan. I've had all my normal ultrasounds with my regular OB but for my A/S, some special other OB comes to his office around once a week to help do them. For that reason, mine was hard to schedule and I'm not having mine until I'm almost 22w
@strickland8052 That seems weird. We did the 12-week NT scan at a MFM place, but the 8- and 20-week were both with my regular OB's office.
@cd92007 Feeling better as long as I keep taking the Unisom and B6 combo every night (aka poor man's Diclegis), otherwise I throw up every day at 6pm after having all-day nausea. I don't need the Zofran as much anymore, so that's good.
When is/was your scan? Today!
How far along were you/will you be? 20w3d How did it go? Great. Measuring right about 20w5d, so about on track. Baby looks great, had a strong heartbeat, and was very active. The tech couldn't get a picture of the aortic arch because baby was moving around so much, so we'll have to try to get it at the 28-week ultrasound. They got all the other views though, and everything looked perfect. No reason to think that there's anything wrong.
Did you learn anything new about you or baby? I have an anterior placenta, which is why I haven't felt much movement. Baby was 12 oz, which was good to hear because I haven't put on weight since my 17-week appointment. Well, I gained some and then lost it, so I was concerned about that. But if baby is growing well, I don't care what my weight is. We're still team green, so we didn't find out the sex! I think it's a girl and hubby thinks it's a boy. Whoever's wrong has to deal with dirty diapers the first week--and we're doing cloth, so they have to do everything that goes with it.
Finally going to have my ultrasound in a few hours! This is a little bit last minute but ... was everyone's A/S internal or external? I've only had one other ultrasound at 8 weeks. I remember asking the ultrasound tech if that would be my only internal ultrasound, and she said no, you have one other one at 20 weeks. But everything I'm looking at online says its abdominal. It's no big deal, I'm just curious! Anyone? To be honest I'm a little bit more worried about an external ultrasound ... whenever my doctor uses the doppler, I tend to laugh out of nervousness and mess it up lol!
@Blonde1817 my anatomy scan will be external but I do have an internal scan back at my dr office a few days later and that will be internal and my 19 week US. From what I've heard, the anatomy scan is pretty amazing and I'm just like you though, I laugh when I'm nervous. Just relax and enjoy it! Best of luck!

@strickland8052 because I'm high risk, due to my age, my anatomy scan is done at the hospital with a specialist.

How far along were you/will you be? 18w exactly How did it go? It was good insofar as everything looks exactly like it should, baby is growing right on track, nothing indicating cause for concern, which was exactly what I needed to hear. I tend to keep the positive everything-is-fine vibe for a week or two after each appointment, then I get progressively more nervous until the next appointment. Hoping this gets better once I start feeling her moving around on a regular basis.
Did you learn anything new about you or baby? She's weighing in a 8oz. When I commented that that was bigger than all the pregnancy trackers I've seen, the OB told me that they estimate down so if baby is at the bottom of the range, the parents don't get nervous. The US tech we had this time was much less through than the one we had for the NT. The scan itself took about 15 minutes, she got all the measurements, but wasn't very talkative and didn't make any comments on how things were looking. It made me really nervous until the doctor came in and told us everything looked ok. The coolest part of the scan was being able to see how much she's developed. We could see her rib bones, and got some great shots of her arms, hands and feet, where we could actually see the bone structure. Very cool.
How far along were you/will you be? 17W5D. My dr. doesn't usually do them this early, but since I have had cervical surgery in the past, she wanted to do it now to measure my cervix & make sure everything was growing right.
How did it go? Cervix measured at 4.1 so that was good news. Could see everything pretty well, except the chambers of the heart, which the technician said was normal this early. However, my doctor wants to refer me to a specialist two hours away (Dallas) for a more detailed scan since I'm AMA and have had previous surgery. I feel really nervous about this, even though I was told everything was normal. I'm a worrier by nature & am having serious anxiety!
Did you learn anything new about you or baby? She currently weighs 7 ounces and has the cutest little toes!
How far along were you/will you be? 20+2. I thought I was only 19+6, but when I got in there she told me that they had actually changed my due date to 10/4 after my initial ultrasound and never told me.
How did it go? It was awesome! I have only had one other ultrasound at my first OB appointment at 9 weeks, and this was totally different. The first thing I got to see was baby's adorable little feet! He was so active and squirming all around, it was great to see that. It's a huge relief to see that he's doing great and everything appears to be normal and healthy!
Did you learn anything new about you or baby? He weighs 12oz and is measuring at 20+3! We already knew it's a boy, but that has definitely been confirmed. I just feel even more in love and connected having seen him, and it's weird to think about how much he is wiggling around inside me all day!
How far along were you/will you be? 18 weeks 3 days
How did it go? Great I loved seeing our little person.
Did you learn anything new about you or baby? Our baby is measuring 4 days ahead is about 8.5 oz and is in the 77%tile. Giant baby compared to my others.
How did it go? Good except it took a long time and me turning side to side, to get her in the right position for some of the pics they wanted. So relieved to know so far so good though!
Did you learn anything new about you or baby? Not really...placenta is mostly fundal and a little anterior. Not sure if that explains why I don't really feel movement but at appt after, my doctor said it's completely normal not to since I'm "only 20 weeks"...which goes against what a lot of people here are reporting about feeling kicks, but either way glad to know it's nothing to worry about and I guess I'll feel more soon
I had my scan on Monday. Officially a girl! I didn't get any details about weight or anything though. I will probably get that once the results get forwarded to my doctor. Took almost an hour though, kid was moving to much to get a good image of the heart. The technician ended up having me roll from side to side, and even take a bathroom break, and she eventually got it.
How did it go? It went great! We were joking with the US tech and got to see all the adorable parts of lil bean.
Did you learn anything new about you or baby? I was adamant about being team green for our first baby, but we've had such a horrible year so far (and it just keeps going, my husband totaled his car yesterday when someone ran into him) I thought I'd surprise my husband and let us find out. I had her write the sex and put it in an envelope and when we went out to dinner that night we opened it together.

How far along were you/will you be?

I am so excited for mine on Monday! SO and my 2 aunts are joining
How long did most of your scans last? I hear anywhere from 20min-60min+.
