my mother just threw out two perfectly good ounces of breast milk b/c she says that it looked curdled b/c it had separated.
i've now breastfed TWO children that she's watched, and we've had the "the fat goes to the top" conversation MANY times before. i told her that it was like when the milkman came to her house and the cream went to the top of the bottle.
in one ear, out the other i guess...and now those two "extra" ounces that i thought i had for today are gone. pissed is an understatement.
Ugh! I would tell her that no matter if she thinks it's spoiled or not, she is not allowed to throw anything out without checking with you first. I had to make that rule with my mom with food in general because she thinks things go bad way before they actually do.
Im so glad FIL watches LO instead of MIL because shes crazy about throwing out food too. The yogurt that specifically states good for 7 days beyond sell by date is thrown out on the sell by date. Drives me batty. Shes told me to throw out milk before because there wasnt any fat (do you know what Im talking about? Where the milk looks thin and skim? Im assuming foremilk) and she said it looked funny and was bad. Grrr.
On another note, LO learned how to stick his tongue out on purpose yesterday. Dying. Its so cute. He does it and then grins like a fool because we laugh so hard.
MIL has crashed on our couch and her demon snores are scaring my toddler.
If you've ever seen "Little Nicky", you'll remember the hellish snore he had. Well that's just how MIL sounds right now. No exaggeration. It's scary as hell.
I bought everything I need to make a ring sling. I am so excited about it! Not to mention, my fabric was 50% off, I got an additional 20% for being a teacher, and it's reversible! After cutting my fabric, I will have two ring slings for just about 30 bucks!
P.S. i bought a similar Carter's bear coat, so now Brom can be Wicket for of his costumes! Newly SAHMing leaves me to overdo Halloween. God help the kid at Christmas.
The hair loss has begun. Ugh...it just won't stop.

Just had a holy shit moment reading that pregnancy announcement. Pretty sure we're going to have another one over here and I can't wait to be pregnant again (one day), but holy shit reading that scared me. Our LOs can't be old enough now for us to get pregnant already.

Speaking of consecutive pregnancies, when I was about 4-5 weeks out from having DD(#1), I DTD with his father. I hadn't gotten on BC yet but was nursing like a cow in a milk factory. I hysterically cried because I was so scared that he had just knocked me up again and I didn't want another baby because I loved DD TOO much and couldn't fathom having another baby to take care of and "share" the love. Totally irrational but OMG, back to back pregnancies...
Seeing the pregnancy announcement just made me want one even more.
It won't happen any time soon but I can dream as I sadly pack away the tiny things because madam is a giant monster baby. She started out in Preemie and Tiny Baby size onesies even though she was nearly 7lb, now in size 6-9 months which are just a smidge too long in the sleeve. By Christmas she'll be taller than me at this rate.
Ugh. So busy at work today, finally had time to pump at 12:50. I go get all set up, turn the pump on and it WONT WORK! Its giving me some sort of error screen. I think my boobs might explode. Really hoping this doesnt F with my supply. Has this ever happened to anyone?
I had a day or two where I wasn't able to pump because I had accidentally left it at home. My supply wasn't affected, but I definitely nursed DD as soon as I could. I also thought my $300 pump had broke the other day because it wouldn't turn on. I got home and plugged it in one last time just to make sure and whattyaknow, it worked.

Your's has an error screen? What kind of high tech pump did you get?
With DS, I went to get all set up, plugged the sucker in, pushed the button and nothing. I was convinced the problem was the plug as I had used it the night before at home. I work for an electrical contractor, so I went to the guy in charge of our building maintenance and he brought out his stuff to check the outlet, etc. Meanwhile, I took it to another room and plugged it in to see if it would work there. AND then I realized I had pushed the button, not turned the knob that actually turns on your pump. Absolutely nothing wrong with the outlet, just plain old user error.
I have had times when I missed a session. It's uncomfortable, but as long as it isn't regularly occurring you should be ok with your supply. Hopefully you have some stocked up, because if you're like me, I pump for the next day's bottles and I'd be more worried about not having a bottle for tomorrow.
@lolasimonlove is there anyway you can pump tonight between feedings/after LO is in bed to get some for tomorrow? Not sure how often/how much your LO eats if this is possible, but I'd try if I could get my pump to work. Hopefully you can figure out what's wrong (maybe google it?) and can get it working on your own!
@huskermom14 agreed!! Richard Harris will always be the only real Dumbledore to me.
