Re: May IUI

  • I have been super swamped at work so I'm reading through, but haven't had much time to respond! Know that I am thinking about all of you  Good luck to anyone testing or having their IUI today! Hugs to everyone with a BFN :disappointed:

@wifeinraleigh28 I think I may not have been a good choice for the spread sheet! I'm not going to have much time as I am preparing to be out for a few days after my IUI to relax  I can help you closer to the end of the month!

I think it's just a different support here because everyone knows what you are going through.

I've been lucky to have a lot of support from my boss, as she went through the same process with the same doctor.
  • Coocoo4U- you are so sweet and I agree! Everyone on here has been so amazing and supportive and it just feels genuine since we all know how it feels. I really hope you are our first BFP tomorrow!

pmjb- hope your IUI went well!

for all the new joiners- welcome and I love hearing your stories, though I'm sad you are here as well.

As for me, got my progesterone bw today and it was 55! The last two months were 33, when I had 1-2 follies. So happy to see with 4 follies, I got to 55. Kinda makes me wonder if I really need to be on those
lovely progesterone suppositories :0) beta is next Thursday, but I'll prob POAS wed so I'm not surprised with a BFN. Gonna do my best to distract myself and keep busy for the next 7 days. when you are waiting for something, time goes so slow

Here I am because I couldn't fall asleep.  Couldn't turn my mind off... imagining my life on Monday if I got a BFP, and also if I got a BFN... I just couldn't stop obsessing so I got out of bed and came on here hoping for some good news from someone.  Come on... there NEEDS to be a BFP here soon!!

I feel the same way @CooCoo4U.  We are fortunate for this community.  I really hope we hear good news from your beta tomorrow!

  • @coocoo4u GL tomorrow! I will be thinking about you. You are absolutely right that this is an amazing community. I've only been on a short time and it's so nice to get on and keep myself distracted and hear the overwhelming support from all you ladies.

I haven't had a chance to read through everything. Been on the road all day went and surprised DH in Michigan last night. Off to bed so I can wake up for work tomorrow. I look forward to some good news from you ladies tomorrow.
  • @CooCoo4U I completely understand your anxiety. It upsets me so much that we have no idea why we can't get pregnant. Unexplained infertility is the worst diagnosis. I feel like if I knew there was a problem it would be easier to accept and there would be something we could do to fix it. It makes me feels so helpless and out of control. You're not alone! I'm keeping my fingers and toes crossed for you today!

@jamieh2000 Great news for you! Hoping your next week goes by fast!!!

@byrneme Sorry AF has arrived :disappointed:  Does your RE have you on progesterone?

@wifeinraleigh28 I had trouble last night too. As much as I have been looking forward to getting these IUIs over with so I could get to IVF, I'm worried I won't have any success. After this IUI and one cycle of IVF there is no more coverage for infertility and everything will be OOP. It makes me incredibly nervous. I'm hoping for good news from you next week so that I don't have to see you on the June/July IVF board

The clomid is kicking my ass this time around. I had such a horrible headache and horrible hot flashes last night that I had to sleep on the couch in front of an open window to get some relief!

It looks like we don't have any IUIs until Monday. Is that right? Is anyone testing today or this weekend?

  • @byrneme I am so sorry to hear about AF.  Good luck with discussing with your team about your next options.  Naturally, I seem to have a short luteal phase sometimes- about 8-14 days it would range.  I am on 400 mg of progesterone each day and last month it seemed to keep AF away for the tww.

@wifeinraleigh28 thinking of you!  Sending some peaceful thoughts your way.  This process is so unbelievably hard and you are so supportive to so many ladies on here  I really hope it goes your way this month.  I know that having the back-up plan of IVF is reassuring but scary at the same time.

@NurseTMD85 good luck on that pesky clomid.  It's a rough ride!  I am still getting hot flashes from it and I stopped taking it at least a week ago now!

@CooCoo4U good luck today!  thinking of you!

AFM:  I am back to school this week.  I have 65 more days until I will have my Masters.  I am so sick of school!!!!

In other news...DH hinted yesterday that he thinks I am negative when I talk about experiencing PMS symptoms.  I had told him my face is getting oily, etc and that I am afraid AF is coming.  Does anyone struggle with DH during the tww as far as being positive or negative with the signs of PMS?

  • Hi ladies,

Hope everyone is hanging in there. As for me, I'm on the last day of my Letrozole, starting Follistim tonight. I've had a headache for the last 48hrs or so, and it will probably continue while I take Follistim. It's not so bad if I'm just sitting or laying down, but when my HR is up, or I'm bending down or something the throbbing is really bad.

Last weekend I visited my friend who's got THE most adorable kids- both under the age of two. It was so much fun playing with them (I even voluntarily changed a diaper). Also went to Ikea, where there seemed to be hundreds of pregnant women. All big-bellied reminders that I am not.

On Tuesday DH and I had dinner with my cousin and his daughter (also adorable). He asked when we were planning on having kids. I wanted to be like "We just decided to do IVF if this IUI doesn't work!!" but thought better of it. It's hard to catch up w/ people when they ask things like "what's going on in your life?" and you immediately think "uhhhhh, we're trying to make a human and we're having a lot of trouble so I've been on a lot of meds and my husband here has been repeatedly masturbating into a cup."

But again, rather then weirding people out, I just say "oh, you know, the usual."

What an odd thing we're all going through. Stay strong, everyone!

If you need to delete me off the tracker so people don't get cut off since my cycle was cancelled that is fine!

I'm still just following the thread hoping to read some good results soon!
  • Ladies, I am out :( Got a BFN this morning when POAS and I checked CM and saw that AF is on the way.... I had been feeling slightly crampy the past 2 days, but was hoping that was implantation cramps. Wrong. I am obviously upset and frustrated, but will still try another cycle. What's hardest was having to tell my husband. Tomorrow is his 40th and we are going to Miami next week to see my family and celebrate my grandpa's 90th bday. I was SO hoping to come home with some positive news.... Also, I'm currently emailing my RE about possibly allowing for us to take the Letrozole once more without a baseline U/S, since I will be out of town. Should we take this month off? I also don't want to miss out on ANY chance we have, considering my DOR. This is just unfair. I'm 34 years old and have been healthy all my life. Am I really not meant to be a mother to a human baby? I am feeling pretty down right now...... sigh.

I hope everyone else gets a BFP and doesn't have to go through another day of sadness and disappointment.... if unfortunately you do get a BFN, please message me and we can b!tch about it together. I appreciate every single one of you for being brave and posting your stories/situations on here, and ALWAYS offering so much love and support and good information. THANK YOU!

I hope we all get our BFP's sooner than later.

So @wifeinraleigh28 mark me down for IUI#1 being a B-F'in-N! I'm drinking tonight!
Me: 35 DOR, low AMH = 0.694, and fibroids
    DH: 41
    Married 10/25/2014 / TTC since 05/2015
    1st IUI 05/05/16 Letrozole 7.5 mg CD 3-11 + Ovidrel = BFN
    2nd cycle on Letrozole 7.5 mg CD 3-11 + TI = BFN
3rd cycle on Letrozole but did our 2nd IUI on 07/01/16. 10 mg CD 3-11 + Ovidrel = BFN
Onto IVF! Started Lupron on 09/24. Added Gonal F and hcg injections 09/26...... Trigger 10/07. EggRetrieval 10/09. Starting PIO, Estrace, and Medrol 10/10/16. Transferred 2 "strong/beautiful" embryos 10/14/16. Beta 10/28/16 = 998 mIU/mL = BFP with one baby, but miscarried at 9w5d.
D&C on 12/06/17 and started taking BCPs 01/10/17 for the next IVF Cycle, which officially began stims on 02/18/17.
Fast Forward: we got 4 fertilized embryos from that cycle. Transferred one fresh, but it did not stick, so we have 3 frozen embryos currently. Went in to the fertility clinic in July to talk about a FET of one of those three frozen embryos, but a new fibroid was discovered, and I was not cleared to do the transfer until I had fibroid removal surgery.
08/11/17 had a mini-laparotomy / myomectomy to remove 6 fibroids, largest sized were the size of golf-balls! Once we were cleared to go about our normal lives (sex!) I got pregnant NATURALLY but it was a chemical pregnancy. The very next month we had another BFP and here we are now with a baby on the way! A TOTAL AND COMPLETE MIRACLE!

That seems very high. ..I triggered that night and had my iui yesterday.  My RE does not get my blood test results right away since I am 8 hours away. Just sent them an email to see what it means.

  • elisam511 - So sorry to hear about your BFN. I know how you feel exactly. Its so confusing why it doesn't happen when you're young and healthy. I was particularly disappointed when my first IUI didn't work, as I had convinced myself that would solve whatever isn't working. I think you deserve a big drink- or 5! Maybe take tomorrow off work if possible? I am saving a vacation day just in case I need it if I get bad news.

Good luck to all those with IUI and testing in the next few days!

Sorry to hear @elisam511. :( it's hard to know why we aren't successful in being parents right now.

After having spent 7 months trying with meds and timed intercourse I thought for sure my first iui would work. Of course it did not. It was really hard news to get so I understand the frustration.

Keep the faith and positive attitude.  Just because it did not work this time does not mean it won't work next time. :)

Have a drink and enjoy your hubby's birthday and time with family.  Keep smiling!

Wishing everyone good luck with upcoming IUIs, finished my Femara and felt much better this cycle. Last month I was so dizzy I was holding onto the walls
  • @LeFemmeViolette You crack me up!!! Sorry about the headaches, though. I truly feel your pain.

@adrianac1982 Fx for a BFP today!

@stars2016 Sorry I missed you yesterday! I hope all went well!

    @lady_grey Good luck today!!!!!!

@elisam511 So sorry to hear about AF :disappointed: I hope you enjoyed your cocktails! I found that my first 2 IUIs were the hardest. You go to an RE and expect results. So it's devastating when you don't get the one you want. I'm on my 6th cycle, and while I'm still hoping it works I also know that it is't unlikely. As for skipping a month... that's up to you. I personally wouldn't, but only because I'm anxious to get tot IVF and I don't want to delay it. But I have read a lot of women that do take breaks because of the emotional toll (or other reasons such as yours). Hugs to you! I hope June (or July) is a BFP for you!

  • I'm pretty adamant about waiting until 14dpiui to POAS, but I almost did today. I stopped myself, but it was hard.  I know that at 11dpiui I can't trust the result... if it's positive it could still be the trigger (which I never tested out), and if it's negative it could still turn positive, so why bother?

I think I'm just so eager for this wait to be over.

@wifeinraleigh28 I hear you about wanting to POAS earlier but battling it because you know it's "smarter" to wait.  You hear about people getting positives earlier than Day +14 and you hope it could be you!

@elisam511 sorry to hear about AF, girl.  I hear you about how difficult it is to tell DH.  Mine is 38 and totally healthy sperm-wise.  It's this girl that has all the problems so it makes me feel even worse when we get BFN each month.

So this is a naive question - I triggered the evening of May 9th this month.  RE told us to BD after 36 hours which would have been May 11th (morning that we would have had an IUI if we were doing that) Which one is Day 14?  Monday or Wednesday?
    Me (34) & DH (38)
    Married 2014; TTC since 4/2015
Diagnosed with Stage 3 Endometriosis and possible ovulation dysfunction
    1st TI (clomid/follistim/ovidrel/progesterone)- 3/19/16 - BFN
    2nd TI (clomid/follistim/ovidrel/progesterone)- 5/11/16 - BFN

  • @wifeinraleigh28, teamginger13 - that is the TRUTH! it is so hard to wait, but I think you are both wise to try to. Hopefully you will be able to keep yourself busy/distracted with some fun activities this weekend and then Monday will be here soon! Whoever thought that you would want to get to a Monday?! Best wishes and can't wait to hear hopefully good news!

freudianmamma- I am assuming they mean Day 14 days past ovulation- which would have been the morning of May 11th (36 hours after the trigger). So I think Wednesday the 25th would be day 14. Good luck testing! My Beta is on Thursday 5/26, but i'll prob POAS on wed to prepare myself for the result, even though Wed is technically only 12 DPO for me, since my IUI was last Friday.

  • @freudianmamma If you triggered the evening of May 9, then your O day is May 11.  Exactly 2 weeks later will be 14dpo, which is May 25.  Not a naive question at all!  A few of us here have just been around the block with this quite a few times now :)

@NurseTMD85 My clinic doesn't do betas for IUI until you get a + at home... so I guess that's a blessing in a way.  If I know it's a negative I don't have to go in and get a disappointing phone call!  I've gone both ways on it though.  I HATE hate hate POAS.  So in a way I wish I didn't have to!  My last two IUI cycles ended on 13dpiui with full blown AF so I never even did a HPT.  I'm expecting AF on Sunday, which will be the day before testing for me.

Y'all are so supportive and wonderful by the way.  Love this group!! <3

Mine is the same way, and I agree it's nice to know and not have to deal with the phone call during the day at work.  I'd likely break down.
  • Well today my two weeks are up and BFN.  This is so heartbreaking since i will never be able to have a child of my own (genetically).  I'm 42 and it looks like my window is closed.  It's so hard going to work today and the woman next to me on the shuttle was pregnant and rubbing her belly.  I just wanted to cry because i wanted a chance to experience that.  I walk into work and i sit in a open area with many cubicles and my coworker has his 2 month daughter sleeping right next to my desk. i can hear her cooing and grunting.  Again, i just want to run for the hills and cry but instead put on my happy face and pretend like nothing is wrong.

Best of luck to all of you on this journey.  Unfortunately my journey is over for now.
  • @Twomommies16 :'( I FEEL YA, I want to crawl under my desk!!

Well ladies nurse just called, and its a BFN :'( I had a little bit of a cry, but already ready with a backup plan and have the IVF consult for 06/10!!
